This gibberish does not counter the excellent write-up by image123 earlier today. --> https://www.nairaland.com/2495746/jonathans-government-refineries-lest-forget I spoke with a PENGASSAN official with NNPC. His short answer is that the then Minister of Petroleum sabotaged all efforts to restart the refineries due to her shady crude swap deals and petroleum importation interests. In fact some of the repair work were quietly being undertaken right under her nose but without her knowledge. Mind you the PENGASSAN confidante of mine is of SS origin. GEJ's oversight of the Petroleum Ministry and indeed any other sector of Nigeria's public life was absent hence the impunity and high level of corrupt practices under his govt. The OP's reputation as an analyst is with the dogs judging from this gibberish of a write-up. Thank God Nigerians chose Change and PMB. |
This is the best move the FG and the Nigeria Armed Forces can take. Think of those mutinous soldiers as fighters for due process in the Army. Their ogas in Abuja (fat bellies) were siphoning funds and under equipping our soldiers, soldiers daily allowance for being at the war front of 5k naira per day was slashed unofficially to 1k naira per day. BH slaughtering Nigerian soldiers like worms. And you expect the soldiers to take it without fighting? These cases should be properly reviewed. Most of these soldiers will be reintegrated into the Military. Kudos to PMB and Buratai. |
ShowYourCertificate:In fact the Nigeria Military is even conservative. If you followed the US and allied forces operation in Iraq and Afghanistan, and recent air campaign on ISIS, it is even CNN/BBC and AlJazeera that break news and details of damage down to the enemy. In Nigeria, the press don't follow our military per se on operations hence the Military has to be its own media house. Finally, it gives the troops and Nigerians confidence to know we are making progress, and puts fear in the minds of BH fighters. If you want to call it propaganda, go ahead but don't question the course events have taken so far. The discovery of the bomb making lab some days after the capture of Dikwa from BH is logical. |
ShowYourCertificate:You have no clue on military operations. After defeating BH and capturing the town, the Nigeria Forces have to mop up the area in case it is a strategic retreat by BH to launch a surprise retaking of the town, and to clear any remnants of BH fighters or landmines planted by BH. They have to evaluate what they find and optimise their strategy for the next move. It is not a one day operation mind you. This is not a cheap propaganda but the military doing its real job. I hope a TANoid is educated. |
These were the kind of information we never got under GEJ even under the 6 weeks 'successful' fight on BH. Thank God and Congratulations to Nigerians for voting right. Nigeria is on its part to greatness. BH will only be remembered like Maitatsine.... Guess who quelled them. |
hinwazaka:I don't know Bakare personally but what you have been spewing on this thread is of an extremist hue. You seem to be describing an elephant from studying the tail only. In the issue of Biafra you raised, I dear say that the Igbos who support it are myopic (with due respect). Firstly, the problems that have plagued Nigeria will not go away in a Biafra comprised of Igbo extractions only or a SS/SE combination. The same players that have underdeveloped the Igbo nation will do same to Biafra. Secondly, the process of setting up Biafra will be hijacked by a cabal once it appears to be doable. Finally, the Igbo republican nature of every man and his chi for himself, and to take advantage of the next guy if you can will lead to a disunited nation just like the SE is today as a political bloc. The recent pro Biafra movement is weakening the Igbos political yardage in Nigeria. Instead of working on a coalition that will strategically place it in the 2019 and beyond rounds of power sharing, it is losing energy on a project that will not benefit it as a group of people. If the Igbos insist on Biafra, I think they should get it but it will do no one much good on the long run. |
“We want to use this opportunity to thank Mr. President for a 20 minute meeting, it was very very crucial, what Mr. President did was a fatherly engagement, what he did has clearly shown that he is not the so called dictator that our opponents wanted to paint him as,” Dogara is a good man who listens to the wise counsel of elders. A new regional force tasked with fighting Boko Haram jihadists should go into action very soon, Nigeria’s military spokesman told AFP on Tuesday, though he did not specify when for tactical reasons. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7M1jq_DUc-M/Va0TSJVQmQI/AAAAAAAAJQM/xhJyOFWtDe4/s640/FB_IMG_1437405990348.jpg The Multi-National Joint Task Force will replace a regional offensive that has scored a number of victories against the Nigeria-based militants since February. But Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks since Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in in May, unleashing a wave of violence that has claimed 800 lives in just two months. The 8,700-strong force is expected to be more efficient than the current offensive, which is battling a six-year insurgency that has killed some 15,000 people. “Any moment from now, the operations or the Task Force will be manifest. In other words, we may not tell you (when it will commence), you will just see it,” Nigeria’s military spokesman Major General Chris Olukolade told AFP. “The mission has been sectorised, various sector commanders have been briefed, the briefing is ongoing at different levels… the aspect of the Nigerian force that will be part of the Multinational Joint Task Force has been designated,” Olukolade added. The force will have its headquarters in the Chadian capital N’Djamena. Few details have emerged on the specific nature of the new force, raising concerns its deployment may face delays. The Nigerian general who had initially been named to lead the force, Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has since been appointed Chief of Staff of Nigeria’s military. No one has been nominated to replace him as yet. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/new-regional-force-to-fight-boko-haram-any-time-now-nigerian-army/ |
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday, approved the appointment of Brigadier-General Paul Boroh (rtd.) as the Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme for former Niger Deelta militants. Brig-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd) According to the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Femi Adesina, Brig. Boroh, whose appointment takes immediate effect, is to take over the responsibilities of the former Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Niger Delta who also doubled as Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme. The appointment of a new Coordinator for the Amnesty Programme is expected to lead to the speedy resolution of recent hitches in its implementation such as the non-payment of outstanding allowances to ex-militants. Under the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Azubuike Ihejirika, Boroh was in September 24, 2010 moved from AHQ Department of Administration to Jaji as the new Commandant, Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/buhari-appoints-brig-gen-p-t-boroh-as-coordinator-amnesty-programme/ |
Nigerians, let's celebrate good governance. |
anonimi:When the army was killing innocent civilians as Boko Haram under GEJ what did you expect the leaders to say? Even the US has alleged that Ihejerika and co are guilty of war crimes..,. |
Since Buratai started doing press-ups on Boko Haram... May God keep PMB for us and stop men like Ihejerika, Minimah and Badeh from taking leadership of our Military. |
Slow and Steady, Nigeria is making progress. PMB needs such a vibrant media team. |
Cpumping:More pics added. |
Opinedecandid:Because EFCC has been dead for 5 years until PMB's rescucitation of the anti-graft body is the most obvious reason. Let's watch as things unfold and it will get clearer. |

PREMIUM TIMES had on Wednesday exclusively reported the invitation, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, of Mrs. Saraki, who was the first lady of Kwara between 2003 and 2011, in relation to alleged questionable inflow of funds into companies in which she has interest. But shortly after that news broke, a group of senators loyal to Senate President Bukola Saraki, under the aegis of ‘Like Minds,’ questioned the investigation, expressing concerns that the probe might be politically-motivated and suggesting that the leadership of the APC might be hounding Mrs. Saraki as a way of getting at her husband. Mr. Saraki has been locked in battle with the leadership of the ruling party over his emergence as senate president on June 9 contrary to the wishes of the party. Joseph Waku, a chieftain of the APC, had also on Saturday accused Mr. Tinubu of masterminding a “baseless petition” that led to the invitation of Mrs. Saraki by the EFCC, a charge the former Lagos governor stoutly denied. But in a statement Sunday, the Kwara state chapter of the PDP said it was a petition it (PDP) submitted to the EFCC that got Mrs. Saraki into trouble. “It has become imperative to inform the members of the public that we have every reasons to believe that a petition recently submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara state chapter is largely responsible for the invitation and eventual criminal prosecution of the former Kwara First Lady and wife of the Senate President, Mrs. Toyin Saraki,” the party said in a statement by its spokesperson, Rex Olawoye. The PDP added, “It will be recalled that our party had sometime early this year discreetly submitted a petition to the EFCC detailing how certain individuals in high places under the past administration of Dr. Bukola Saraki milked the state dry and left the people more impoverished than they met them. “In the said petition, we carefully chronicled how state officials, including former First Lady, Toyin Saraki, former Special Adviser to the Governor on MDGs, Mr. Ope Saraki, Personal Assistant (PA) to ex-Governor Bukola Saraki, one Mr. Abdul Adama from Kogi state, a former Commissioner for Information, Mr. Tunji Morounfoye, all working in a ring, got enmeshed in a cesspool of corruption unprecedented in the history of Kwara state or any other state of the federal for that matter! “Although, we believe that the arrest and prosecution of Mrs. Toyin Saraki is long overdue, we nevertheless take solace under the fact that the long arm of the law seems to have finally caught up with her and her cronies. We are particularly delighted that our painstaking efforts at chronicling the monumental heist that defined the eight years, almost uneventful rule of former Governor Bukola Saraki in Kwara, has not gone unnoticed. “We therefore commend the EFCC for its resourcefulness and painstakingness. We pledge our cooperation with the EFCC and all other relevant anti-graft agencies to ensure that all those who knowingly looted our collective patrimony, but now walking the streets of Kwara free with their ill-gotten wealth, do not go unpunished. “We urge the anti-graft agency not to buckle in to pressure or blackmail that is already being mounted by political jobbers over Mrs. Saraki’s invitation by the EFCC. Instead of sponsoring paid activist-for-hire to stampede the EFCC out of the prosecution, one would have thought that the most moral thing for Toyin Saraki and her handlers to do now is to allow the law to take its cause. Since the duo of Ope Saraki and Tunji Morounfoye are already standing trial for their crimes, one would expect Mrs. Saraki too to seize the moment and clear her name, instead of playing to the gallery. “For the avoidance of doubt, we reiterate that the offences Mrs. Saraki is being accused of are criminal in nature and such offences are not known to be statute-barred. Therefore, the fact that it took over five years after Mrs. Saraki left office as Kwara First Lady before she is eventually brought before the law does not matter. “What matters is that justice is ultimately served, especially for the sake of the hard-working Kwara civil servants, poor Kwara farmers and the promising children of Kwara who were and are still being subjected to all manners of deprivations as a result of the rapaciousness of a privileged few who could not contain the temptations to stare clear the cookie jar.” http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/187286-pdp-exonerates-apc-tinubu-in-toyin-sarakis-efcc-ordeal-says-own-party-behind-probe.html |

There's a proverb that if you let bad habit persist for up to a year, it becomes a tradition. While OBJ fought corruption to a considerable extent, GEJ embraced and celebrated corruption. It was such a shame that a shoeless one became an elite overnight, harboring the same cabal that kept him shoeless in his early days. |
barcanista:You need to take reading comprehension lessons. Joda, a very respectable administrator stated that the budget deficit of N7 Trillion has been piled up by GEJ. Nowhere did it mention this was all in 2015 as you claim. Joda was referring to year on year deficit accumulation and we know GEJ was in power for over 5 years. Please think before you counter. All these baby analysts on NL sef....mtchew |
When Jonathan is termed as clueless, it is complimentary because the other option is to term him wicked and evil for sitting on a crumbling national structure and behaving as if all is well. Nigerians did the right thing to end cluelessness in 2015. Imagine the chaos that would have met us had PDP and Jonathan been allowed to continue.... By the way, Okonjo-Iweala is a scam. Soludo said it. |
