Do you people read at all? This is sad coming from people who claim to be graduates and need to be employed.

Read previous comments and don’t just type long epistle for no reason.

Lols the reason why some people never get called back after an interview is because they lack the ability to comprehend informations.

I only apologized because of people who are so desperate and would jump on any false information, and also would use opportunity to throw insults at people.

Anyway like I said earlier, if you want PTDF you can go to the gate and pick up your appointment letter.
Mehn some graduates don’t read to understand at all very sad. Not every one here is a JOB SEEKER sir. Some of us as here to kill boredomness and listening to what Nigerian Youths think, some also might be here to help.

Anyway it’s time to retire till whenever. But even the senators you claim you want to meet can be on this thread grin. I wish every job seeker the best of luck and pray this Pandemic ends to soon.

I am not here to discourage anyone like some people think, I have seen a lot of false informations here which I felt drove some people into more depression let us just verify our messages before sending it out to the public.

Keep praying and pushing whatever buttons you have with the right information and to the right place, keep dreaming high and very soon you will get there, for those who think they don’t know anyone, don’t forget you know God and your time would come soon.
Like I said earlier, you're a camelion. And like the other person said, you're not a straight forward person!

Earlier you said u work at PTDF just to convince people that you have authentic information and obviously to discourage them from pushing harder because of your own selfish interest; and when you were probed further, you swiftly deny the fact that u are a staff.

Pls change your way of life

Yes I once asked of PEF the same way I asked of PTDF here because sometimes the informations people give here are false and surprising.

Also PTDF doesn’t have an office in Lagos only Abuja but hopefully soon new branch would be set up in KD.

PEF and PTDF salaries are almost the same.

Where did I mention I was switching jobs or I work in any of the above ;Dlols

Both PTDF and PEF are good places to work and PEF would recruit after they get approval of their budget because recruitment is stated in their budget this year, so very soon they would recruit atleast 70 people.
You're a camelion

I am a lawyer called to the bar in 2008.I have been practicing law for 12 years now. I am shocked at the level of ignorance exhibited by some folks here even after being corrected.
Under the Nigerian tenancy laws, a year is 365 days ie 12 calendar months. The OP paid for 1 year which makes him a yearly tenant.
A yearly tenancy expires on the eve of the anniversary of the tenancy. In this case the OP's tenancy became operational on the 18th of April,2019. The tenancy therefore terminates without more on the eve of the anniversary of the tenancy which is 17th of April 2020.
That is complete 365 days or 12 months.
Even if he paid on the 29th of March the law will take the last 2 days of the month into cognisance in detemining the computation of 365 days.
Any other calculation is erroneous. He is entitled to pay his rent latest 17th of April, 2020.

Now if he does not pay by that date, his tenancy expires on the basis of effluxion of time. If he holds over without paying after that date he becomes a tenant at will and is entitled to 7 days quit notice. His landlord still has to go to court to apply for a notice of owner's intention to recover possession.

However where by reason of the tenancy agreement the tenant pays on or b4 the expiration of his tenancy, the tenancy continues and remains extant for another year that is assuming he still pays for 1 year.

I hope this settles the controversy. If you argue after this then you have a special bed space reserved for in Timbuktu.Dont mention pls
When a sound lawyer speaks u know... not some charge and bail lawyer like Alvin007 grin

The tenant tenancy started on 18/4/19 as he stated. His rent will expire on the 17/4/2020.

What is written on the tenancy agreement is the determining factor to this. Unless the tenant tenancy agrement states 18th march and tenant moved in 18th april, his rent will expire 17th march 2020 unless there is an oral agreemnt with the landlord for waiver of 1 month to probably carry out repairs.

On the issue of notice to quit. According to lagos state tenancy law 2011 implemented by the then govt of babatunde fashola. The tenancy terms are fixed term. If you pay for 1yr rent, at the end of the tenancy, your landlord can give tou 7days notice of possession. But, after that first year, if you pay subsequent years, like you have spent 2yrs, 3yrs, 4yrs in the house. The landlird will serve you 6months notice to quit if he intends to evict you and in some cases the 6months notice to quit expires with your tenancy. If he serve it at the expiration of your tenancy, you are supposed to pay for the period of 6months notice to quit, which is mesne profit or pro-rata rent calculated per month.

If the 6months expires, the landlord aerves your 7days notice of possession which he can take legal actions to recover his property.

It is because of our poor legal system where tenant runs away in the night without tracing that makes people think they wont pay when they are given notice to quit.

Some benevolent landlords/landladies even wave the period so far the tenant will vacate and hand over keys to him/her.
Alvin007 pls come and argue with this Mr Lawyer

I'm telling you why it's calculated that way..but, since you wanna be rigid in thinking, kindly, read about 'Express and implied' terms. Cheers.
When we say annual rent what does it mean?

You can only deceive the gullible ones with this your logic

You are very wrong. I face this exact problem with tenants sometimes because I rent a few flats out but once I show them a calendar and tell them to start counting they agree. By the way I'm disappointed at the numeracy skills of many Nigerians
How exactly is he wrong?
Are u saying Jan 1 - Dec 31 is not one year?
And that 18th April - 17th April is not one year?

@OP your landlord is right while you are wrong.

A calendar year is January - December not January - Jamuary

If you paid rent in April 2019, you next rent will be in March 2020.

Birthdays are different for those using beer parlour logic above.
And by your classroom logic the next one will be in February 2021 huh

PoliticsNo March Salary Yet For Federal Higher Institution Staff by LudaChriz(op): 6:24pm On Apr 01, 2020
Dear Nigerians, the President made a broadcast some days ago that three major cities will be locked down. This we all know will have obvious adverse effect on all other states of the federation.

Regrettably, as at today 1st April, federal government is yet to pay the March salary of tertiary institution workers comprising those in Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

Is this not man's inhumanity to man at this critical time?

NB: It's not the issue of not joining IPPIS. Most of us already joined and were paid February salary through IPPIS.

Lalasticlala we need to bring this to the notice of the whole world.

Most of our family members depend on us to bail them out at this critical time but we can not. Is this fair?

Lalasticlala, seun for the last time pls help us take this to front page
