Lurker4Long:These guys do a good weekly review, slightly behind if you're not a paying subscriber, but informative nonetheless. https://www.caboligado.com/reports/cabo-ligado-weekly-8-14-november-2021

Meanwhile, in Mozambique.

Odunayaw:In some ways there is greater unity. In others not. A proper answer will require a longer write-up, which I'll offer later, if interested. |
Odunayaw: ![]() Seriously though, SADC needs to move beyond the current ad-hoc arrangement to a pooled and shared airlift capability, akin to the EU's. The agreement is that this should happen by 2025. With budgets being what they are, it makes sense for the bloc to jointly procure and operate strategic airlift. Botswana already offered land to base the logistics hub and SADC needs to get a move on. Angola cannot be expected to continue shouldering the burden alone with its Il-76. I don't much care whether it's the A400M or the Il-76, as long as they procure something. And also fix and standardise the rail links. As it is, Zimbabwe and Mozambique have allowed rail to completely degrade. |

kabe1:A press release is what you or your PR agency write about yourself/own product, and then send to the media. Just because a reputable outlet runs it, does not mean the claims you make in that release are true/legitimate. Just clearing that up; not saying anything about "Gray Insignia", who don't seem to have a website. |
kikuyu1:You guys aren't too bad with establishing a shooting culture. Kenyan civilian shooters have become a fixture in our shooting competitions and our Gun Owners Association ranks Kenya highly in African countries most likely to emulate what southern Africa has. |
Odunayaw:I too want to know more! I sincerely hope this is for real, but that pic doesn't inspire confidence. Edit: only reference I can find is a poorly written press release with only this 1 pic ![]() |
kikuyu1: jl115:Those stories, like the white genocide rubbish, were the febrile imaginings of idiots and racists who have no understanding of the political realities of SA. Millions of previously excluded Saffas now have a real stake in the economy and will not easily give up their middle class status. And when the remnants of the crazies in the ANC try their BS, they lose the cities and are further relegated to the shrinking rural votes as elections since Zuma came in in 2009 have shown. |
Kikuyu1, jl115 Recently sold my flat in the Cape Town CBD and bought a house in the burbs. Reason? Got a dog, body corporate at the building doesn't allow pets and needed a garden. Unintended happy bonus? This place, with its indoor range, is within walking distance. https://suburbanguns.co.za/index.php?route=blog/article&article_id=7

![]() FFS! And now the thread is getting spammed! |
youghs:I understand aspiration. But this type of boosterism nonsense is counter-productive. "Africa" is most assuredly not leading in this field, and if I were in venture capital or private equity, I'd ask myself: "If they make such claims, what confidence do I have in the claims they make about their company and their products?" And then he gets flight times wrong. I quote: "there's no place in Africa that takes 9 hours. You can go from Lagos to South Africa in 4 hours, 5 hours..." Cape Town to Luanda, Angola is 4 hours. I'm sorry, but I can't take seriously this guy and his company. Just my personal opinion.
