OP, I didn't know that I'm a tribalist until the last election. But I discover that I'm better than everyone including you because I'm conscious of it and I'm working on myself.
When you are a tribalist, you won't be able to say the truth. You won't be able to see your flaws and you will be incapable of seeing the strength of others. As a tribalist, you will get to miss the best in life because in my short time on earth, I've realized the best is always cloak or hidden in what you hated or detested. As a tribalist, you tend to miss the best life as to offer.
Please let us all strive to be a better human being. |

Enough! Let any capable Nigerian contest 2023. Enough of zoning. Convince Nigerians that you are capable of leading this country. Play wise politics. Enough of tribal and religious politics.
No Northerner can be President without the support of the South and no Southerner can be President without the support of the North. So you all have no choice but to work with each other. Walai I'm now loving this part of our constitution.
If the South-East and the South-South decides to support a Northern candidate for 2023, it's their right. It may not be the best decision in a long term but it's a wise decision in a short time. |

If you guys are really politically astute, you would have known removing Jonathan in 2015 is political mistake.

BaaleOko: The SE has been politically loyal, and have always delivered accordingly on that principle. Not the SW that are neither here or here, a whole can of worms was opened in the just concluded Presidential election, and the inconsistent votes that we saw in the SW has definitely marked out the SW as politically unreliable, and has on current basis of repressed but certain sentiments in the North engendered some distrust towards your region.
As a matter of fact, the the SW without knowing it, have politically given the SE a huge lifeline for 2023 presidency, more Northern leaders will be fancying forging alliances with the SE cause bloc votes are guaranteed if they present a running mate from the North for a SS/N or SE/N ticket. Best of luck. The next four years will be very interesting. |

Arysexy: The greatest Injustice and greed ever in modern Nigerian history is the scheming of Yorubas after having 8 years of d south slot under OBJ, schemed their way to have 8 years VP slot at d detriment of a South South brother and now dreaming of eyeing the presidency come 2023. Heck NO! The treachery of d SW will be their greatest undoing. They call it sophistication but it is what it is, GREED!
We rather let the North continue ruling than allow that. We die together come 2023!
Una never see anything They worked for it. You all should ask yourself why Igbos don't think they can win the Presidential election in 2023. |

You have President 8 years, VP 8 years and you want another President for another 8 years. Is it our fault that the southeast refuse to be politically astute? What you want to do now is political vindictiveness. Because you all can't win the vote of the north, you are ready to destroy everything. We deh house for una. |

Care to explain please? There's one thing that rallies Yoruba together. It's feeling of injustice. Using your scenario, if PDP wins, the north will be in power for 16 years. And you are supporting that and you expect peace in this country. The thing weh una go take your hands cause. |

SouthEastFacts: The North has legitimate claim on PDP ticket and what if the behave like SE in 2014 and refused to field a candidate for PDP National Chairman.
We know Agbaje will gladly pick it They do. But the reason why there's presidential rotation is simply to forestall a situation whereby the North used his population strength to its advantage. You all want shake that balance for a selfish reason and you expect the West not to use what it has for a selfish reason. |

If Rivers goes out of PDP's hand, the implication is that SE will not have any rival for PDP 2023 VP ticket. But we prefer PDP retains that state. The next four years will be very interesting and educative. What will Tinubu do knowing this? Get ready to make Tinubu greater than Awolowo. |
Politics › Re: Why The Northerners Will Continue To Rule Nigeria Beyond 2023 by luvmijeje(f): 7:03am On Mar 11, 2019 |
Niorte: Why the Southerners make a hell of noise about their plan and move for 2023, their northern counterparts secretly make move that seem to be a goal.
While it is the plan of APC party to zone the presidency to the South in 2023, the northerners are already aligning with PDP who will most likely be giving a level playing field to both Southerners and Northerners especially as the last flag bearer of the party was from the South, in person of Dr Good luck Jonathan.
So why many may think PDP are doing well in the gubernatorial elections, those who understand the dynamism of northern politics know that the northerners are only realigning so as to stand a chance to continue to be relevant even after Buhari leaves office.
If Kano and key states go to PDP who may likely field a Northerner as president, where lies the dream of Tinubu and his Southern cronies who campaigned for Buhari based on 2023 presidency to be zone to the south? OP, I'm going to tell you five things and allowed you to make inference from it. 1. The headquater of the press is in Lagos. 2. The international port is Lagos. 3. June 12 1993. 4. Buhari re-election. 5. Oil. The Northerner are students of history. They are not vindictive like una. |

AZeD1: You are turning logic it's head...
Will a "working system" fall from heaven or will it be put in place by people who refuse to make excuses for corruption and thuggery?
A "working system" starts by calling thuggery what it is and not by making excuses. God bless you for this beautiful question. We'll get a working when we the people are invested in the electoral system that works for all of us. Thuggery is already a crime. Being treated as a crime never stop it, rather it has been use as a tool by the politicians to rig. We are not treating the root, we are treating the symptom. I'm only coming in with a different perspective. |

emeraldknytt: How about I put it in a more appropriate context.
"I am not defending corruption but I am defending the corrupt"
I am not against your write-up. I have related with this set of people on more than one occasion so I know what you wrote up there is quite true however MT is correct, there is a subtle promotion of thuglife in your text (might not be what you intended to say but it's true.) I love your analogy. Let me complete it. Corruption is a symptom of a currupt system not necessarily a corruption by an individual. If we have a working system, curruption will drop to its minimal. Do you know what I'm doing? I'm defending the corrupt in order open your eyes to the fact that they are also victims of the society. I'm defending the thugs in order to make us realize we all can nip this in the bud if we have a working society. They could be an asset instead of of a liability. I just tend to see good in people. |

You are a lady or a woman, and you should be more in a position to dissuade others from walking the destructive path. Again, quote where I defended them. That's why you all must make a conscious effort to bring down your pride and build relationship before 2023 election. Stop calling them names. Stop seeing yourself better than them.
