Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson could make his first start since early April in the Europa League final against Spanish side Sevilla. The England midfielder, 25, returned from a knee injury in Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw at West Brom. Striker Divock Origi could also feature in Basel, Switzerland after returning to training following an ankle injury. Defender Mamadou Sakho is still banned after failing a drugs test as the Reds chase their 12th European trophy. "I don't expect to start," said Henderson. "I know I've been out a long time and I've only played 25-30 minutes. "When I've been injured the team has done very well and played in some big games to get to the final. "I'm ready to play as long or as little as the manager wants me to." Sevilla - who have won the trophy for the past two seasons - have no new injury worries, with Denmark midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli out with a long-term knee injury. |

The league is a different story all together for Everton, though, having only picked up three points from their last six games, in what has been a woeful top-flight campaign for the Toffees. Ramiro Funes Mori, who scored in Everton's 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday, admits his side have a tough week ahead of them but says they will do everything to ensure the biggest week of the club's season doesn't end in disappointment. "Overall it is disappointing – we wanted to win at home," said Funes Mori after the Southampton game. "The goal didn't mean anything because we did not win. "We drew a game we should have won but we will keep fighting until the end. We don't want to tie, we want to win. "It is going to be an intense week. We have important games coming up so we will do everything to win against Liverpool and then go again in the FA Cup." Six of the previous seven Merseyside derbies in the league have finished as draws, including Brendan Rodgers' last game in charge of the Reds in the 1-1 stalemate at Goodison Park in October. Liverpool are undefeated in 10 top-flight derbies, with Everton's last win coming in October 2010 when Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta netted in a 2-0 triumph on home soil. Klopp will check on the fitness of both Divock Origi (back) and Kolo Toure (muscular problem), while Christian Benteke (knee), Emre Can (ankle) and Jordan Henderson (knee) are all out. Everton will monitor Leighton Baines (groin) and Aaron Lennon (hamstring) in the lead up to kick-off, while Tom Cleverley (knock), Seamus Coleman and Phil Jagielka (both hamstring) are less likely to feature against Liverpool. http://m.goal.com/s/en/match/liverpool-vs-everton/2043417/preview?utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com.ng%2Fsearch%3Fq%3DLiverpool%2Bvs%2BEverton%2Bmatch%2Bpreview%26client%3Dms-opera-mini-android%26channel%3Dnew%26gws_rd%3Dcr%26ei%3DqXoXV57GBerHgAaW7oyACQ |

The Reds play at the Westfalenstadion on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final. "A lot has been said but it is easy for me as I just have friends here," said Klopp, Dortmund coach for seven years. "It's better to be here than North Korea or something. I don't think about my situation, not for one second." It is reported 20 television crews, twice as many photographers and about 100 journalists were present to listen to Klopp, who won two Bundesliga titles at Dortmund. Klopp said his former club - second in the Bundesliga, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich - were favourites and admitted Liverpool had the "highest mountain to climb" over the two legs. "We have looked at the way Dortmund play but my players haven't travelled here without any hope we will get a result," added the German. "If we are not good it will be easy for Dortmund but why should I think about this?" Liverpool are yet to lose in the Europa League this season, and knocked out Manchester United in the last round. "Manchester United was the biggest game and biggest pressure so we are prepared for this," said Klopp. "And you need a bit of luck." Dortmund counterpart Thomas Tuchel warned his players Klopp would show no mercy. "From the moment the whistle goes Jurgen Klopp will want nothing else than a win. And we too," said the 42-year-old. But he added "no-one has forgotten" what Klopp achieved at Dortmund. "Anything else but a warm welcome for Jurgen Klopp will be a surprise," said Tuchel. "We are now where we are because of our history with Jurgen." Dortmund trio Mats Hummels, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Ilkay Gundogan took part in training on Tuesday after missing the 3-2 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen at the weekend. Forward Roberto Firmino, who has missed Liverpool's past two matches because of a hamstring injury, has travelled with the squad to Germany. |
