ABOUT
After the final international break of the year all focus is now on the Premier
League for the next few months for the Eagles players, who will be looking to
end a run of five games without a win against Liverpool.
They will fancy their chances of a scalp against the Reds who make the trip to
SE25 also in poor form, winning just two of their last eight league games and
their last three in all competitions, although they were against Newcastle,
Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Palace have beaten the red side of Merseyside just once in the Premier
League - back in 2005 thanks to an Andy Johnson header - but Liverpool
have won none of their last five trips to Selhurst Park.
Another glimmer of hope for Palace is that Brendan Rodgers' side have
conceded 18 goals in their previous nine league away games, and look out for
Neil Warnock's side's quality at set pieces as 57% of the Eagles' goals this
term have come from dead ball situations, the highest percentage in the top
flight.
TEAM NEWS
Mile Jedinak will return from suspension after missing the
Manchester United game through his red card against Sunderland, and
Wilfried Zaha could also come back into contention after sitting out the trip to
Old Trafford due to the terms of his loan arrangement.
Crystal Palace:
James McArthur and Kevin Doyle withdrew from their international squads
with muscle strains but could be fit for the visit of the Reds, but there are no
other reported issues from the nine internationals that have represented their
countries over the past week.
Rodgers was dealt a blow this week that Daniel Sturridge will miss
the game through a re-occurrence of a thigh strain and could be out for
another month.
Liverpool:
Mario Balotelli pulled out of the Italy squad with a groin problem but should
be OK to line-up against the Eagles, and Mamadou Sakho and Jose Enrique
have recovered in time for this game.
Apart from Sturridge, Liverpool's only casualty is Jon Flanagan who is out
until Christmas with a knee injury.

Does anyone actually really need reminding? Last season's action at Selhurst
Park came to a close in thrilling fashion as Palace rallied to score three late
goals in 11 minutes to claim an unlikely point and stun title-challenging
Liverpool.
If a single game could sum up the Eagles' season this would be it, as the
hosts looked down and out before dragging themselves back into game and
finishing with a flourish to stun the league leaders.
When Damien Delaney's long-range effort flew into the top corner to make it
3-1 it seemed to be a mere consolation, until super-sub Dwight Gayle popped
up with a second a couple of minutes later – and an incredible season at
Selhurst came to a crescendo when the striker popped up with another two
minutes from time to complete a stunning comeback.
Joe Allen gave the Reds an early advantage and despite managing to keep
the goal-hungry visitors out until half-time, strikes by Daniel Sturridge and
Luis Suarez in the opening 10 minutes of the second seemed to have ended
Eagles hopes, but the unbelievable climax all but ends the Reds' title hopes
for another year.

Daniel Sturridge has injured his thigh in
another injury setback
The Liverpool striker could now be out
for as many as 12 games
Sturridge has not played for struggling
Liverpool since August 31
Daniel Sturridge will not play for Liverpool
again until 2015 following the latest setback
in his nightmare season.
The England striker is set for another six
weeks on the sidelines after scan results
confirmed he had suffered a grade two thigh
strain during training at Melwood on
Monday.
It is the same thigh Sturridge damaged whilst
on England duty in September but it is a
completely different injury. The rehabilitation
programme, however, is the same and that
means he will miss a huge chunk of
Liverpool's stuttering campaign.

If Daniel Sturridge is out for the next twelve
matches, he will miss the following fixtures
for Liverpool:
Crystal Palace (A) - November 23
Ludogorets (A) - November 26

Sunderland (H) - December 6
Basle (H) - December 9
Manchester United (A) - December 14
Bournemouth (A) - December 17

'Sturridge has already missed Liverpool's last
14 games but he could potentially miss their
next 12 fixtures, which include assignments
against Ludogorets, in Sofia next Tuesday,
and Basle (December 9) that will decide their
fate in the Champions League.
Aside from that, Sturridge will also be absent
for huge clashes in the Barclays Premier
League against Manchester United at Old
Trafford (December 14) and Arsenal at Anfield
(December 21), as well as a tricky Capital
One Cup quarter-final away at Bournemouth.
Liverpool said in a statement: 'LFC confirmed
scans have revealed Daniel Sturridge has
sustained a new thigh injury. The player will
remain unavailable for selection but will be
monitored and assessed during his recovery.'
Given Sturridge's injury history, it is unlikely
he will be back inside six weeks and he has
still not kicked a ball for Liverpool since
signing a new contract, which is has the
potential to be worth £150,000 per week, on
October 3.
It is a massive blow for Brendan Rodgers,
who had been hoping to relaunch Sturridge's
campaign at Crystal Palace on Sunday, but
his patience will now be being tested by how
much the 25-year-old has been out.

Sturridge suffers new injury setback

Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge
has suffered a new injury setback in training.
The 25-year-old injured his thigh on Tuesday
and is expected to have a scan on
Wednesday.
Sturridge has played just three Premier
League games this season and only returned
to full training last week.
He picked up a thigh strain while on England
duty in September before suffering a calf strain
in training in October.

Reds agreed with French side Lille in the
summer.
However with Liverpool struggling for
goals Origi is open to making the move
earlier than expected.
The youngster, who is currently away on
international duty with Belgium said:
“Maybe January, who knows?” he said.
“It’s not me who makes the decisions, but
if the club choose to let me go in January,
I would go. I would like to join Liverpool
then.
“Although I agreed to stay with Lille until
the end of this season, if there was that
chance of joining Liverpool sooner, I would
take it – I would love to move sooner
rather than later.
“Brendan Rodgers is in contact. That
makes me feel very good and wanted. Also
the medical staff, they stay in touch for
the same reason, telling me they are
looking forward to me coming to the club.”
Lille are also struggling in the French
League and Origi, who has scored five
goals for club and country so far this
season, feels the Premier League would
suit his game better than Ligue 1.
He added: “I’m here at Lille. It’s fine. They
are a good club and they have helped me.
But it is also frustrating. It is French
football.
“I can’t wait to be playing in the Premier
League because I can now see that it will

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has
declared himself "happy to be back" as he
steps up his anticipated return from a long
injury lay-off.
The 24-year-old has not featured for the
Reds since August 31 after a thigh strain
sustained on England duty was followed by
a calf problem picked up in his first
session back with his club.
Having spent last week finishing off his
rehabilitation sessions at Melwood the
striker has now returned to training,
although with most of the first-team squad
away with their national teams, he will
not be involved in a proper full session
until next week.
"Training was class. Happy to be back,"
Sturridge tweeted on Wednesday, having
written on social media after Saturday's
defeat to Chelsea he was "looking forward
to returning to full training next week".
After missing 14 matches for Liverpool the
England forward is targeting a return to
action when the Premier League resumes
after the current break with the match at
Crystal Palace on Sunday November 23.
"I'll be ready for that one, God willing,"
Sturridge told BT Sport at the weekend.
"It's the worst feeling to be honest but
that's football. Everyone picks injuries up."
During the time Sturridge has been
sidelined the Reds have won just five
games - two of those in the Capital One Cup
- and lost seven.
Their Premier League record during that
spell shows five defeats and only eight
goals in seven matches as summer signings
Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have
failed to fill the void.
That has seen Brendan Rodgers' side drop
to 11th in the table, 15 points behind
unbeaten leaders Chelsea but still only
four points off a Champions League
qualification place - which remains their
primary target having got back among
Europe's elite with their runners-up finish
to Manchester City last season.

Sturridge's return will be a welcome boost
for Rodgers as his side seek to regain their
cutting edge but former Liverpool winger
Steve McManaman believes they should not
put too much pressure on the striker to
start delivering immediately.
"Daniel Sturridge is hopefully going to be
fit and raring to go (soon) and you hope
Liverpool can replicate the kind of form
they displayed at Tottenham away when
they won really easily against a good
team," he told liverpoolfc.com.
"It'll have a positive impact because he's a
very good footballer who scored lots of
goals last year, but he'll need time to get
himself fully fit and well."
