The House of Representatives members, yesterday, declared the National Assembly a no go area for (Alhaji Bamanga Tukur) the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Also Kingsley Chinda, a house member was shown the other side of the coin when the authentic PDP members ensured he stepped down his motion, tagged: “Need to check incessant clashes among security agencies in the country.”
The lawmakers said since Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, chairman of the authentic Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, meeting was disrupted, Tukur should not bother to come.

”If he dares us, his unclothedness would be shown to the world, that I can assure you,“ he said.

On Chinda’s motion, it was so glaring that some members in Baraje's group apparently wanted to give him a bitter pill over his role in the disruption of Tuesday’s meeting.
The mood of the legislators changed Immediately (Emeka Ihedioha) the presiding officer introduced the motion mentioning Chinda’s name.
Nkem Abonta wh represent Abia State, had risen to read the motion on behalf of Chinda when he suddenly stepped into the chamber.
Ihedioha summoned him to go ahead and make his presentation, but he wanted to make an amendment in the second paragraph.
This was put to voice vote and it was glaring that the nays had it but the presiding officer thought otherwise.
Ihedioha, however, pleaded with his colleagues to support members with their motions and bills without prejudice.
Apparently sensing danger that the motion would be killed, Chinda stepped down his motion, saying”I will present this later, definitely not today.”
It would be recalled that it was the same Chinda who pleaded with members of the House that peace and orderliness be maintained.
He moved a motion that the House should pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of the House which was unanimously endorsed by all members.
Chinda led the clapping event that immensely disrupted Baraje’s caucus meeting with the PDP later that day.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes he “left something” at Chelsea that aided their Champions League win in 2012, adding that meant he did not feel he had unfinished business in the competition with the Blues.
Mourinho asserted that winning a third Champions League trophy for himself and a second for the Stamford Bridge side was an “objective” rather than an obsession.
During his first spell at Chelsea,Mourinho never got beyond the semi-finals of the competition , but denied that had created any pressure for him to go further.
“I don’t think you can look at it in that perspective,” he said. “For me, the important thing is that Chelsea had a dream, and the dream came true by winning the Champions League.
“It’s normal that, if you win it once, you dream to win it twice. That happened to me. And, when I won it the second time, I dreamed to win it a third time. That’s the nature of football.
“But when you work in a club and prepare for the future, wanting to leave something in the club that remains for years, your business doesn’t finish the day you leave. Your business finishes the day everything you did disappears.
“So, for example, the other day I was looking at Real Madrid’s team and Real Madrid played the same system, the same players, and changed just (Gareth) Bale for (Mesut) Ozil. I’m not there, but I left something there. With Chelsea, it’s a bit the same. I never felt the business was unfinished.”

Fighting broke out in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, disrupting the visit of the Alhaji Kawu Baraje-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party to the federal lawmakers

A member from Bayelsa State, Mr. Henry Ofongo, was punched and shoved repeatedly by his colleagues as he sought to stop the visit of the group.

He was ruffled and his jacket pulled off, as some members, notably Kano State lawmakers, also attempted to throw chairs.

Mr. Dakuku Peterside and Andrew Uchendu, both from Rivers State, were also sighted among them.

Baraje had arrived at the House in company with the seven aggrieved governors, who are members of the ‘new PDP.’

The governors were Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano); Romiti Amaechi (Rivers); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Murtala Nyako (Adamawa); and Abdul-Fatai Ahmed (Kawara).

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, and other principal officers received them at Room 0.28.

Other principal officers in attendance were the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha; the Majority Leader, Mrs. Mulikat Akande-Adeola; the Chief Whip, Mr. Ishaka Bawa; Deputy Leader, Mr. Leo Ogor; and Deputy Whip, Mr. Murktar Ahmed.

As Baraje was introduced to state the purpose of the visit, Afongo and some of his colleagues stormed the meeting room.

He had Betty Apiafi (Rivers); Bethel Amadi (Imo); Kingsley Chinda (Rivers); Bitrus Kaze (Plateau) and others in tow.

Afongo shouted, “Point of order, point of order” and charged in the direction of the high table in a bid to register his protest.

When it comes to being responsible — by that I mean using condoms during sex, many will take the gold. But, during MouthAction do you apply the same precautionary measures?
Did you know that one can contact sexually-transmitted diseases like Chlamydia, gonorrhoea HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and even cancer of the throat from MouthAction? I doubt it.
Before now, MouthAction was usually considered a lower-risk sexual activity;that it’s actually becoming a popular, though unintended, way of spreading sexually transmitted infections.This was revealed in a recent study, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine
The researchers state that since MouthAction involves a partner stimulating the Instruments of another person, using the mouth, including the lips, tongue or teeth, viral and bacterial infections such as herpes and HIV can be contacted through these means.
Dr. Tarri Warren The Chief Medical Director of Westover Heights Clinic in Portland, Oregon, an American private clinic specialising in STDs says the risks of contacting these diseases depend on a lot of different things, including the number of sexual partners, gender, and what particular MouthAction acts people engage in.
She opined that, “Many people don’t know that STDs can be spread orally. Or, if they do, they don’t see the health risks as being very serious. MouthAction is not safe sex; rather, it’s safer sex, but it’s definitely not safe sex because most people don’t use protection for MouthAction. However, they should actually be cautious about it too, especially if your partner has other partners.”
Warren says performing MouthAction on a male partner without a condom is riskier than other forms of MouthAction, and stresses the importance of using condom for a man having MouthAction with multiple male partners.
“If a male is giving MouthAction to a woman, I consider that to be a low-risk exposure; but a woman that gives MouthAction to a man with multiple partners is really dangerous. You can’t tell if his partners are infected. It is just like sex with multiple partners but no penetration,” she adds.
Another concern that has recently arisen is the question of catching chlamydia through MouthAction.
In May 2011 International conference at Gateshead, at which Dr Indrajit Ghosh and his colleagues revealed the results of their screening programme among female commercial sex workers in London.
They found that one in every 25 of these women had chlamydia in the throat. It seems fairly certain that they had acquired the germ through offering MouthAction to customers.
Additionally, one in every 50 of the female sex workers had unsuspected gonorrhoea in the throat.
Ghosh says, “This research makes it clear that MouthAction is not quite as safe as it may have seemed – except of course if you only do it with one partner.”
MouthAction is linked to throat cancer. Cancer? Yes, you can get throat cancer from MouthAction, says American Cancer Society Chief Medical Officer, Otis Brawley.
Brawley explains, “It’s not MouthAction, per se, that causes cancer, but the human papilloma virus which can be passed from person to person during sex — including during MouthAction — that causes cancer. Those who have ever performed MouthAction have more than doubled their risk of getting an HPV infection.”
Researchers have found that some cancers of the oropharynx (the middle of the throat) and tonsils are caused by a certain type of HPV.
The study, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, showed a greater risk for oropharyngeal cancer in people that had MouthAction with at least six different partners.
They found out that the DNA signature of HPV Type 16 was often found in the cancers of people who had multiple MouthAction partners.
Brawley says, “Both men and women can have an HPV infection in the throat. It doesn’t discriminate by gender. The population that I thought would be least likely to get it was the first population to have this problem — that is heterosexual men between ages 40 and 50,” he says.
Again, one can get HIV through MouthAction. A research conducted by the San Francisco Aids Organisation found out that many women contacted HIV from MouthAction by swallowing semen.
The study states, “HIV still can enter through open cuts and sores, or possibly by infecting the lining of the mouth. There are some documented cases of people getting HIV through their mouth.
“Once semen gets past the mouth, stomach acid and enzymes in the aesophagus kill the virus. So, swallowing or spitting out semen reduces your risk for HIV, compared with letting it sit in your mouth.”
However, you don’t have to leave yourself and your partner unprotected. To reduce your risk for these infections, experts recommend the use of barrier protection like dental clams or condoms and also offer some advice.
Brawley says, “Before you two taste each other’s forbidden fruit, make sure you’re clean. Don’t perform oral for about 45 minutes after you brush your teeth, floss, or engage in any other aggravating oral behavior; and not at all when you have open sores.”
But you can be more practical this weekend. Get yourself and your partner tested for these diseases before engaging in any sexual activity and save yourselves the worry.
Remember, the catch is, stay faithful!

Following threats by the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, to shut down private universities over the lingering strike embarked upon by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Vice Chancellors of private universities, yesterday, charged the students’ body to mediate between ASUU and government to return normalcy to the country’s universities.
The Vice Chancellors opined that there was no need for the threat, since private universities were not owned by government and that their owners didn’t enter into any agreement with the striking university lecturers.

They noted that they also have their wards and relations in public universities, who are affected by the shutdown.
According to Professor Isaac Adeyemi, Vice Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, BELLSTECH, Ota, Ogun State, NANS is made up of matured minds and must, therefore, broker peace between government and the aggrieved lecturers.
He said: “I believe NANS executive is made up of matured individuals. We also have our kids and relations in public universities and we are feeling the pains. Rather than vent their anger on private universities, they should act as mediators to broker peace between government and ASUU. After all, its not a crime to run private universities, because parents are sacrificing so much to send their wards to private universities, where they can acquire qualitative education. I know they said it out of desperation, but I know too well that normalcy will soon return to our public universities.”
Professor Ayodeji Olukoju, Vice Chancellor, Caleb University, Lagos, charged government to avoid wastage in running of the country’s affairs, but to give priority to the funding of education, which is a critical sector of the economy.
Olukoju said: “There was no need for the threat, since private universities’ owners didn’t sign any agreement with ASUU. Education is a free market economy. Its just like a husband and wife’s quarrel which they must settle. NANS should mediate between the warring parties, after all, students have the right to study anywhere they like. Its a matter of choice.”
