adanny01:I will advise you negotiate with a cool headed painter in your hood. Be in charge of your painting yourself but seek his opinion when/where it's necessary. Make use of his tools and one of his boys(you'll pay for these). You will learn a lot from this(doing it in a side of his workshop) and perform better in DIY next time. |
diportivo:Honda is one of the best car maker: engine, body interior, etc... just laying emphasis on this particular 1997-2001 CR-V (actually, this model is more rugged when compared with other crv models); maybe how I presented my comment using Honda instead of crv due to how some Nigerians always see Toyota models as only good cars. |
Antibettings:No. Sound engine and gear first body. This type of Honda is very strong, cheap parts and an utility vehicle that will serve you well without disappointment. |
Antibettings:yes, wife used it before. |

That's just it. I hope to see more comments and opinions about these. |
tensazangetsu20:Thanks. This is where my support lies but really want to get People's opinion before I try to convince him. Meanwhile, did you consider his age? However, unlike mechanical and general Auto (in which I would have tagged some big Ogas I've learnt so much from here), we seem not to have experts in Auto Body work and Auto Electrical - Professional diagnosticians and keys reprogramming on car talk... |
More contribution, please. |
Where are the gurus, your contributions will be invaluable please. |
autologic:Thanks so much for this contribution. He was actually enjoying the former except the electrical aspects and until his bros suggestion. He is yet to find an ideal place for the auto body work but liking the idea (of only auto body preparation and painting) more than the former right now. Thanks. |
I have a friend in his late 30s, who has a job but wanted to use his spare time (Friday & Saturday) to learn something else; also as a side hustling. He has strong passion for anything auto and I advised him not too long ago to go into Auto Diagnosis and Keys programming and any other aspects of Auto Electrical he could still learn at his age. He found a nice place and the man welcomed him. He started about two months ago. He was loving it, though he complains of some aspects being so cumbersome... He informed his engineer older brother in the US last week about his exploits but the brother is now advising him to go for Auto Body Work instead. That if he plans to relocate, he will make more money per hour than anything mechanical and he would not be required to have many certifications.. Now my friend has already informed his New master that he would not be coming again (he gave reasons though). He is now trying to get a place to undergo apprenticeship in Auto Body painting and preparation. He said he would not be leaning panel beating since he has minimal time. Please, what do you suggest? |

Eryyy92:I don't believe the 'State of emergency' news. However, Ameachi did not send him to start arresting pilots and strategic oil workers. |
maestroferddi:Easy man! you and your brother I quoted stated that Biafra existed before some people. I just showed you the origin, then you brought emotions and sentiment to it. Have a nice day! |
maestroferddi:I know the intelligence of average Ipob member has limit.. unlike those that are not members. |
maestroferddi:To come to your level, the Mafra or Biafra in Cameroon you're naming yours after, is it an important African kingdom? Or you're naming a landlocked country after Bight of Biafra? You're getting me wrong, I'm not against the name but telling you that the name was initially picked based on old eastern region. |
maestroferddi:We all know that Portuguese called a part of Gulf of Guinea after Benin but where your intelligence is low is in the context of Benin Republic being named after Benin Empire instead of Bight of Benin. Go read their history.. there is difference between the two.. can't just continue to 'school' you. My point is Benin Republic you compare yourself with is a littoral country name after the sea but SE isn't open to sea except with SS. |
Makemefit12op:You own Presbyterian church...and there is Onitsha seaport, hope you're ok now; I don't get time for emotional dude... |
gidgiddy:No, it would have been cheaper for Niger in the long run to dredge a river in another country, Nigeria and start moving in heavy duty stuff... can you show me instances of countries doing these in a short distance land to sea? That's, dredging a channel of numerous Niger Delta creeks and start using it without permission of the owner country. |
gidgiddy:I can quote thousands of functionless international laws for you; don't be deceived by such. The article writer, Okonkwo has said it all. Then why is Niger or Mali or Ethiopia not doing their business, importing/Exporting through Niger Delta or Alexandria using river Niger and Nile? Landlocked countries can cope but it's so challenging getting stuff like heavy stills and machines across; they are overtaxed. What do you think make Ethiopia so bitter about Eritrea? |
maestroferddi:Then you will need to go back to secondary school if you've not gone yet. Why not Google how Republic of Dahomey name was changed to Benin Republic instead of unnecessary argument.. Benin Republic (named after Bight of Benin in the Gulf of Guinea to reflect all groups not only Dahomey) is a littoral country just like the Biafra of 1967-70...but the present SE isn't without SS. No need being emotional about this. |
@Makemefit12op The landlocked status of the SE should just be accepted in good faith. Most of the landlocked countries also have rivers that flow to sea, these do not make them littoral countries. The Biafra was initiated to be for SE and 4 other coastal States in the SS. It's no longer feasible except the SS join. Otherwise, the SE should just go alone. Even the present SE has nothing in common with the name 'Biafra' which is for a town in coastal Cameroon called 'Mafra' but change by Portuguese to Biafra and called the coastal areas to Gabon 'Bight of Biafra' just like Bight of Benin, all in the Gulf of Guinea. Bight of Biafra ... ... The Bight of Biafra (officially Bight of Bonny) is a bight off the West African coast, in the easternmost part of the Gulf of Guinea. Geography The Bight of Biafra, or Mafra (named after the town Mafra in southern Portugal), between Capes Formosa and Lopez , is the most eastern part of the Gulf of Guinea; it contains the islands Fernando Po [Equatorial Guinea], Prince's and St Thomas's . The name Biafra – as indicating the country – fell into disuse in the later part of the 19th century [1] Early map of Africa depicting a region named Biafra in present day Cameroon A 1710 map indicates that the region known as "Biafra" ( Biafra ) was located in present-day Cameroon . The Bight of Biafra extends east of the Bight of Biafra from the River Delta of the Niger in the north until it reaches Cape Lopez in Gabon... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bight_of_Biafra

Some dullards believe they can easily dredge rivers in another country as if Niger, Mali did same in Nigeria. |

Yorubas are independent thinking people; with little emotions and could forgive, forget and move on easily. We don't have future in present Nigeria as constituted without true federalism, restructuring or con-federalism. Look, my grandfather, my father and myself lived and live in the same situation with dreams and hopes. Nothing is realised or achieved and you want me to support same for my coming generations, who will have little history of who they are? Oil will dry, militancy and Islamic fanatics will increase, looking for more lands for conquering and subjugation. Even if Boko haram is defeated, many more like that will emerge in the North. The earlier we have strong regional boundaries or separate countries the better. Anyone vying for president isn't doing wrong as citizen but that is not the solution. Moreover, these people are contesting for personal aggrandizement not for their people; the time of legends like Awo, Enahoro, etc.is far gone. We're just in one spot with all the problems in this world without any improvement or development, only mediocrity. I will suggest, people that are already fighting for independence or restructuring should fight harder and better because present leadership and people gaining from the present set-up will always device deceptive ways to maintain status quo. They have what it takes (money, religions, ethnicicy) to cajole the masses along their selfish interests. We should drop excuses, blame games, emotions and look more to the society we all want for our children. We must know that there would be oppositions to our resolves and there are lots and lots of wicked, terrible people and selfish interests in our midst.. that should not stop our positive moves in anyway. We must be determine, dedicated and ready to lay the foundation with any COST without holding back for posterity. We're just being played like game..love to deceive ourselves and shy away from reality. Really like what Prof Banji Akintoye and others are doing.. |
micflo28:Not possible bro. Lockdown plus I'm not based in Ado; just leave it for prospective buyer to pick up. The vehicle can drive anywhere in the country, all documents complete with sound engine, gear and tires. So come pick it, Ekiti is not that far. |

Why would Gowon kill Awo? Muritala even drove him home in his personal car, calling it a privilege... Awo is a God given legend for ever... IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHIEF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO.. MAY 9,1987 Jakande was sentenced to jail just like his boss, Awolowo. But Jakande was crying in the court not because of himself but for Awolowo. When Awolowo saw him, approached him and asked him "why crying for only me..." Jakande replied "I don't mind going to jail and even adding your terms to mine, why South.West, why is it that the only Premier in Nigeria that will be jailed is the Premier of my Region?". Awolowo replied "Dry your tears, God sometimes keep his own away when danger is approaching...." And that was what happened! The reason why Nigeria didn't break in 1967 was Obafemi Awolowo. Gowon said "I needed him badly more than I needed the Nigerian Army".....Why? Two reasons; 1. The original rallying point of the Yoruba was Awolowo. If Yoruba supported the break up, no Jupiter can stop it. Therefore, to keep Nigeria one, Awolowo must endorse it!!!! 2. The wisdom of Awolowo was unequalled, unparalleled and unrivalled. His wisdom must not be on the side of the rebel, Nigeria would not survive without it. No wonder the two Warriors Gowon and Ojukwu said and I quote; "I am the luckiest ruler of Nigeria because the best Nigeria asset in person of Chief Awolowo was my Vice Chairman and Finance Commissioner..."- Gowon. "Chief Awolowo is the best President of Nigeria that never was..."- Ojukwu. Need I say more? Murtala Mohammed had ensured in his Transition Programme that Shehu Shagari would not contest but after his death, OBJ relaxed the rules.....Shagari was allowed to contest and won but in 1984, Buhari stopped Shagari again, describing his election as "shamelessly rigged"....... NCNC was the popular Party in Lagos. They always won Lagos. And Awolowo's Action Group would have lost in 1954 if not because the Yoruba quickly considered him and dropped Zik THE SECRET OF AWOLOWO.... Awolowo deliberately spent a lot of money in establishing exclusive investments for the Western Region where he thought the SW Progressive Politics would be financed. He said "SW need stable source of fund to fight politically because a poor people cannot fight the Central Government...". No one knew this secret until his Deputy had issues with Awolowo and leaked the secret to the opponent. He told them "fight Awolowo from now till forever, if you didn't destroy the Western Nigerian Investments, SW will always be buoyant financially and they will fight you and win you...." Wow!!!!! That was the end!!! From that time, to cut the story short, SW was targeted! AWO was accused of fraud. Investments converted to Full state investment and later Odu'a Investment. And later, during the military regime, there was a time when all SW governors were non Yorubas, Odu'a investment was crushed. Cold dead! But LAGOS of Tinubu reinvested the progressive interest in a more sophisticated way. MAY THE SECRET OF LAGOS NOT BE LEAKED THE WAY ENEMIES LEAKED THE SECRET OF SW!!! The Story of Progressive Politics in Nigeria since 1954 had its Genesis from Awolowo's Palm Tree. We must never forget the families of Obafemi Awolowo, Lateef Jakande, Bisi Onabanjo, Bola Ige, Adekunle Ajasin, Ambrose Ali, Adebayo, JS Olawoyin, Anthony Enahoro, Abraham Adesanya, S.O Gbadamosi, Bode Thomas.....These are first generation of progressive politicians who played progressive politics for life!!! UP AWO!!!! Simple but Notable. When Awolowo arrived Lagos from Calabar Prison, after meeting with Gowon, it was Murtala Mohammed who voluntarily drove Awolowo home, in his personal car. Murtala described the gesture (driving Awolowo) as a privilege!!! copied.
