Reference: Nifty performance last night. Must be the most improved player in the Premiership this season. However still has to work on his three Achilles Heels. Pace, Movement and that notoriously weak right foot and the sky will not be his limit.
But my post is about the guy behind him in the picture. Boy, Nigeria needs to get Eberechi Eze into the Eagles before the big boys wake up and snatch that lad from Palace. Eze is a running, dribbling, shooting replica of Jay-Jay and the golden piece the Eagles badly need in the team.
Watched him closely yet again yesterday and he was the epitome of Steve McQueen. So cool on the ball...his close control, switch play, dribbles and turn of pace just takes your breathe away. It just a pity he plays in a Mickey Mouse club coached by a washed up gaffer if not England will definitely have snapped him up.
The NFF needs to move fast and get this guy at all cost. I mean all costs. If we miss him we will regret the decision for half a soccer generation because I personally cannot see where Nigeria is going to raise another mercurial 10 from particularly since our youth soccer program is moribund. https://www.nairaland.com/3018619/super-eagles-thread-dawn-new/10586 |

For over 20years of following Nigeria players (strikers) outside in Europe, they’ve not been much in this superb form.

andrewbaba44: Osimhen never wanted to stay at lille biko
Who will reject going to a better club and better league with 4 million euros per season which is a way more than whats he is being paid at lille
A record transfer fee with a sure starting shirt at him at napoli and you think he wanted to remain at lille? According to one post here a while back where his brother said osimhen wanted to remain at Lille, but the management of lille wanted to sell him, plus despite all the promises made by Napoli like u stated, osimhen had his minor concerns bothering racism, he kept on emphasizing that he was not ready for Italy because of racism. He further reiterated his stance as to why he wanted to remain in Lille where has just had a fine season and was |

nairalandankrah: Victor osimhen was involved in 11 of the 14 goals scored by Nigeria during the Afcon2021q (5®6) hmmm I doubt if Africa are ready for this monster of a striker. #influential He is the only reason why we didn't get to score against serialeone in the return leg, his absence was noticeable |

Icon79: Thank you, my dear! He’s still the same sluggish player with poor first touch and extremely poor ball control.
I don’t think Osihmen received enough credit for that goal.
O pari Why una dey talk like say una get sick mind. Osimhen missed a chance that rebounded to onuachu. It is as simple as that. What credit is he getting. It sounds sickening to be saying osimhen should be given enough credit as if he lay the pass for onuachu. The glory was his to take but he simply couldn't concert it. And that's just the word, he simply couldn't covert the chance. Let's stop all this one player against the other player mentality pls. They all represent the super Eagles and it is just about a common cause which is to score goals and win games. |

Meanwhile, the first Nigerian in action today will be Jamilu Collins in the Bundesliga 2.
He starts for Paderborn in their clash against Hamburg. Chima Okoroji, also a LB, starts from the bench. |

If I ask u now, u will tell me what u state down here is the definition of logic and how to rationalize football. Make Rangers go use the win over Porto comot champions League trophy for porto cabinet. Didn't besiktas also beat man united the current league leaders in the epl. I know u will come in your inward looking mind to say my thoughts are biased. But yours are nothing concrete likewise komekn: Let's not get emotively biased with our preferences.
Let's look at matters objectively.
Porto is in a league rated way lower than the EPL, l believe that is without dispute.
Rangers is in a league that is likened to the English league one and at the very best optimistic assessment comparable to the English Championship.
This same Rangers held Porto to a draw at home and flogged them 2-0 in Glasgow. Ranger is no where near Fulham in Quality.
And you assume that Porto has a better quality team than Fulham, I disagree.
By what unit of measurement individual value, pedigree, ratings l seen no basis. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by M7even(m): 10:20am On Jan 22, 2021 |
komekn: I disagree.
If Sanusi was so outstanding he would not be playing in the Portuguese league. He has been in the Portuguese league for near 5 seasons. That's enough to generate interest from other top teams and leagues.
It's possible he is still developing and there is more to come. I have watched him a few times he is fast and athletic. But for me he is technically weak, does not have composure on the ball and has a limited passing range for a good technical team like Fulham.
The current left back Antonee Robinson (Jedi) was the subject of £10 million bid by AC Milan when he was at Wigan in League one, but failed the medical.
I don't think he can displace him or even Tete the Dutch international.
Aina is far more technical than him so considering all the different options in Fulham who is he going to displace.
Have you watched how well Fulham play with the ball on the deck❓ If your ola aina was so good as u make it seem why did his career path have to go through a downward spiral from Chelsea. Why did he need to leave to Torino if he was really good he should have found a middle team in the epl. And why should his Torino stint be only good enough to bring him back to a relegation team in England. These things you have predicted about sanusi's long stay holds no value. He played for a relegation team and now he is playing for the best team in Portugal. He came from Africa to make a mark for himself. He didn't have the privilege of growing or horning his skills in the feeders team of one of the worlds best feeder team like Chelsea, unlike aina. So the five years he took to get to that height , commensurate with the time of right exposure in European soccer. He could retire in porto which is good for him and he could move to a more competitive league which is equally nice |

TheGoodJoe: Superb post but very heart breaking when you see how intelligent Mikel was. It was like he had eyes at the back of his head and knew what was happening at every inch of the field.
Worst part was that Mourinho did not need Mikel. Alex Ferguson had just transformed one of the bright young talents in football, CR7 into a World Class talent and his touch on Mikel would have been glamourous.
Mourinho did not want Ferguson getting another weapon of Football destruction and fought to scatter that Union.
The fact Ferguson flew to Norway repeatedly showed how much he envisioned a superstar in Mikel.
This was a painful trip down memory lane.
Classic video.
While watching this match, I exclaimed, "Maradona, have you seen how to play the 10 role."
Maradona was in the stadium that day to handover the touch to Messi but Mikel shone like a million stars that night. Don't be one sided in your opinion watch messi's clip from that game as well. |
