I found the bolded very funny, dunno why. But seriously OP, SimonAndal's questions are valid. Consider them.
MacDaddy01: How can they attack what they can not see? Do you know my real name? No, but my articles have changed a lot of people's religious thinking. MacDaddy01: Nigeria is not a country where people are ready to sacrifice themselves like the Arab uprising. A silent revolution is both practical and needed. Violence is not the way. A silent revolution is started with both information and discretion. Educating the masses without the government or religious overlords knowing who or what is informing the people about the injustice, corruption and evil that those in power do. |
dj militant: am not much of a sceptical christian but do u knw dat the problems is not even abt entirely abt enternal life in heaven generaly about our collectivesnes to work 2geder as a people and can we trust one anoder, are we wiln to help each other .I dont mind working with a christian that is ready to use his or her brains. |
SimonAndal: That's a nice dream you've got there, MacD. Are you prepared for resistance from every mog and member of cabals? Are you prepared for witch-hunts? Are you prepared for damage of property? Are you prepared for threats to your life? Are you prepared to die?How can they attack what they can not see? Do you know my real name? No, but my articles have changed a lot of people's religious thinking. |
dj militant: mr man do u think only aethist are intrested in the future of nigeria i am christian but yet i believe in wat u ar saying pls do not make dis a one sided thing.Of course, christians want Nigeria to be better as well. However, they are part of the problem! a) God is not going to do anything. It is man that can bring change, not the dead or spirits. b) Christianity/religion is used to keep the poor in place. The poor believe that htere is a btter life after death and so they are less likely to fight for a btter life on earth when life becomes too difficult. The bible also tells people to respect leaders because the leaders are divinely chosen. It ensures slavery of the masses. c) Churches are sucking the poor dry through tithes and offerings only for bishops and MOGs to live comfortable lives. The propaganda of christian charity is then used to block criticism of this embezzlement. I can only respect a skeptic christian. A skeptic christian will keep god out of the laws of the land. A skeptic christian will follow his beliefs but stopping at the limit of going beyond the rights of others' religious freedoms |
Joagbaje: @frosbelUnfortunately for Jo-tithe aka Jo-dollar aka Joagbaje, there are no Nigerian saints in heaven. Joagabaje remains a slave to a religion tat is racist to his brethren |
shymexx: TBH, I don't want to derail this thread - and I'm tired of explaining(with historical and archaeological proofs) how homosexuality is a foreign culture...Epic fails 1) African culture is blank on homosexuality. It is foreign religions (christianity and islam brought by slave traders) that criticise it. Which local history from the 250 tribes in Nigeria have you heard in which a gay man/woman was executed by a local king? 2) Homosexuality is not immoral in the first place. The irony is that many homosexual bashers (men) would love to have sex with two women (Thr33some) but ouldnt the women be a bit bisex.ual to engage in such? |
shymexx: Are you a lesbian, yes or no? And if you're(like you said you were in the past) - what moral high ground do you have to critique African culture?? I don't need to remind you that homosexuality is foreign to Africa - so your opinion(if at all you have any meaningful one) don't count.Homosexuality is foriegn to Africa Just when I was beginning to agree with you ![]() You are a clown for that statement. There are homosexuals everywhere. We Africans just didnt make any effort on it until foreigeners came with religion and Western countries started accepting gay rights. The logical deduction is that homosexuals were always in African history. They were just silent about it. Wives were a sign of importance so all agay person in those days had to do was marry some wives to look good then go and have gay sex in a dark corner. |
cyrexx: now you got me laughing in seven nigerian languages.Toba doesnt know that I'm Toh bad! |
I believe in the second coming. A change is coming. My version of the second coming in Nigeria would be one man (or woman) backed by his peers in the revolution that is to come in Nigeria. This man (or woman) would be a Nigerian in diaspora. He or she would be an eclectic as he would learn from the successes and differences of various cultures around the world. His/her experience and intelligence would be used to inspire many to a silent revolution. This chosen one would be an irreligious person who uses logic and advanced strategies to undermine the dictatorial hold of religion and government on the masses. Nigeria is not a country where people are ready to sacrifice themselves like the Arab uprising. A silent revolution is both practical and needed. Violence is not the way. A silent revolution is started with both information and discretion. Educating the masses without the government or religious overlords knowing who or what is informing the people about the injustice, corruption and evil that those in power do. Unlike Jesus, the chosen one will not perform miracles but execute efficient strategies. Unlike Muhammad, he/she will not dominate through war but conquer with information on with the support of his peers. Unlike Moses, he/she will not rely on a spiritual being to lead his people to freedom, he/she would rely on both the wisdom and humanity of people including himself. This chosen one could be one, he could be many. He could be you, he could be me, he could be you. I do not know who it is but I know that he is coming. I will lay the groundwork for this chosen one whether it would be me or many others. The question now becomes are you ready for a change or are you sitting down in your house worrying about hiding your irreligiousity? Why not educate those who are willing to be educated? Why not expose others to the horrors of religious and dictatorial controls on the masses? Why not use the anonymity and reach of internet to spread the truth? Why wait for others to do what you can do? time and change await no man. I will lay the groundwork for the change. If Nigeria will not change in my generation, I will put the foundations for change so that my children can easily do it. The most influential people in the world were people with revolutionary ideas that were non violent. Einstein did not use a gun to spread his theories around the world. Bill gates did not force tithes on people before giving the whole world windows. computers and technology have spread around the globe far more than the books of religion or the messages of Muahmamad/Bhudda/Jesus/Moses. After writing all the above, I am going to start a blog. An atheist blog highlighting many problems in Nigeria both socio-political and religious. I will do my own part. Those who have the resources to educate young jobless men in their areas (towns, cities, villages) should do it. Those who have the money fund proper atheist/humanist organisations in Nigeria should do it. Use your resources for a better tomorrow. A wise saying by Jay-z "Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk. Martin Luther King walked so Obama could run. Obama ran so we can all fly." |
fellis: Sorry for derailing logicboy.I am not Maclatunji. I couldnt care less as long as you're not trolling. |
fellis: @bold, I think you have almost completely made up your mind to be an atheist, sadly. The thing hate most about Fellis is that she is a hypocrite. Now, I dont care about Fellis trying to bring someone back into the faith but the problem is when atheists debate about the problems of Islam, we are called evangelists. Fellis, you can keep trying to bring the OP back to the Islamic faith but never again project your Dawah program on atheists. Please. I have never tried to p1mp atheist books or websites to anyone. Most atheists here only debate and leave the rest for the person to decide. |
toba: Guy do u live on the internet?Nah, I live on my pops money but the internet is a good place for logic. ![]() You need to stop hating me and my bandwith swagger |
frosbel: Mate I have a laptop in front of me almost 10 hours a day, if not more, I am a busy man you see.You call it trolling, I call it logic/debunkery Who is right? ![]() |
Nice thread but we should be focusing on making Nigeria a better place rather than making plans to live in the West. |
frosbel: Your immaturity is increasing by the day , I am not sure if you have issues, but Nairaland is not the place to exhaust your frustrationslol......did you get your postgraduate from bible university? If you had a proper job why are you so damn jobless on Nairaland promoting christian myths? Holla at me if you need a real job. You could be my PA. Maybe you'd learn some logic ![]() |
Please, send e-mails to logicboy01@gmail.com I dont use my nairaland email. Also please notify me on NL before sending me something so that I can easily address ur emails Cheers |
frosbel: Let us be careful here, to us Christians the things of GOD must make sense except we do not have the Spirit. Some biddhists will say that you need to be enlightened to know the ways of Buddha. There are other religions that claim the same nonsense that you are trying to prove. After seeing your foolish posts on nairaland, the spiritual things that you are talking about must be a state of foolishness. Foolishness that leads you to believing in nonsense. Yu are in no way enlightened. You dont even sound educated beyond a basic degree from a quack university |
mazaje: I have been following the debate and laughing on the side lines, if you had made this point earlier on the ridiculous back and forth would have ended.I am only human.....I was angry from the nonsense that Ihedinobi and Anony were spouting which led to to explain more and more rather than comprehensively show that they were fundamentally wrong. |
ghostofsparta: Where are we to discuss it, also I am down with your seminar thing.Cool ![]() |
jackbauersballs: Nairaland would be significantly improved if MACLATUNJI was relieved of his duties as a mod. This is good. People are seeing the tyrant for who he is. It has begun! |
manmustwac: NO! I disagree with you. I think its more to do with her sentiments and personal feelings. A lot of topics that i recommend for the homepage in another nairaland section called Moderators (which is not visible to normal members of nairaland just us moderators) NEVER! make it to the homepage whereas topics recommended by Maclatunji always seem to make it.Cant argue with you. You have insider information. Any ideas on how to change this? Any solutions? |
manmustwac: Yeah he's really good.Amen! God is so good that it hurts! Too good to be true! Alleluyah! |
Epic summary of the debate! www.nairaland.com/attachments/814770_419486_352677324755030_1116350495_n_jpgf2e4856b91d70c547d3a9f59b97d8f49 |
MacDaddy01: This is good. The christians are showing their true colours here! |
This is good. The christians are showing their true colours here! ![]() Lets see who really used logic and commonsense in this debate; 1) Ihedinobi was trying to argue that Adam and Eve repopulated the world in 6000 years. (Something that has been proven wrong by science http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_and_Eve#Science_vs._literalism ) 2) Ihedinobi was trying to argue that there would be no genetic defects from Adam and Eve's later offsprings from their inbreeding. So those are the two arguments For the first argument, we argued about the numbers a) I said that it is more likely to be an arithmethic progression from two people. Using certain assumptions (considering how many offsprings added in each generation etc), you wouldnt arrive at 7 billion. b) Anony used a geometric progression. This fails from the very beginning because it would always give an unrealistically high number. 1 billion people in china will turn to two billion in a common ratio of at least 2 in the next sequence. A geometric progression can never work no matter how you fiddle with the numbers C) Ihedinobi supported Anony until he did research for a day to find out that scientists use exponential progression. He was wrong (supporting anony and then changed his mind. That everyone seems to forget is that the scientists that use exponential growth do not start with the assumption of two people. Even exponential progression has its limitations and it is used with certain assumptions. I used an arithmetic progression since we were starting from 2 people and it was a far better measure than a geometric progression. A word for the wise. This is why they say arguing with fools makes one stupid. |
Ihedinobi: @cyrexxlolololol........not everyone thinks like you and Anony, just because ttwo of you are arguing against only me doesnt mean that you are right. Anyways, I give up. You can keep hurting. Remember that youre original argument is very wrong; That it is possible for 2 people to populate the world as it is today. Something that no respectable scientist would believe; http://www.npr.org/2011/08/09/138957812/evangelicals-question-the-existence-of-adam-and-eve Science vs. literalism |
Anybody that believes the above is a fool. Any religion or cult or association that tells you not to think is evil. How can you tell a human being to waste his mind? A person should not use his cognitive abilities to judge christianity? |
I am not computer or IT guy and so I cant say much on some of your ideas. The atheist/pagan section might be a good idea but I think we must discuss this among the atheists/unbelievers because Seun will more likely be moved if we agree on this in unison |
Ihedinobi: Look, MacDaddy, do you even know what has happened over the past two days? I won't be answering you again. So, I'll explain to you what has happened.lol........You need to get off that Jesus juice. I can not respect a fool that got crucified when he could avoid it. |
italo: All I see is uninformed, hate-filled rants.I was a catholic till I saw d light. Keep defending pedophile proests Lol |
SimonAndal: ^ If I get kicked out, I'll hunt you down and live off your pension, ya old biddy!I am in my mid 20s |
Ihedinobi: Good God! Please tell me that you did not just insinuate that geometric progression and exponential progression are not the same! You did go to secondary school, right? Please, don't insult your parents' effort to make half a human brain out of that bone your neck supports.Pls quote where I insinuated that geometric and exponential are d same. Liar |
