After the seven years . We the raptures saints will come with Christ to fight for Israel . And we will dwell on the earth for 1,000 years reigning on earth with Christ over nations on the earth. Jerusalem will be his headquarters . The devil Satan by this time would have been captured and put in bottomless pit. Throughout the 1,000 year reign on the earth. But since it has been declared illegal in Nigeria(and it's punishable by law), that says all you need to know about the homoerotic culture... Each to their own, and I don't have a problem with homoerotic culture - but people who engage in the act have no moral ground to critique African culture..

Secondly, Tableigh Jamat? I don't know much about it but I know they are kind of harsh/strict with Islam (don't celebrate eid and so on) and from your description of your dad, he appears to me to be a staunch member of the sect. It is unfortunate that he will disown you if you leave Islam. I don't understand parents that do that. . . .
I think that you were not taught the proper message of Islam and that is partly why you are losing your faith. Why don't you start a thread on the Islam section to find out things that you were not sure about regarding Islam? I am sure people there would be able to clear your doubts.
And am sorry, I don't know anywhere that needs a HR personnel, if I find such a place I'll let you know.

Besides I am educated to postgraduate level and currently in a senior managerial position with a reputable IT company. Not that this is a big deal to me, but for children like you who do not have jobs , remember many of us here are gainfully employed and well educated.

A lot of topics that i recommend for the homepage in another nairaland section called Moderators (which is not visible to normal members of nairaland just us moderators) NEVER! make it to the homepage whereas topics recommended by Maclatunji always seem to make it.

Lets see who really used logic and commonsense in this debate;

1) Ihedinobi was trying to argue that Adam and Eve repopulated the world in 6000 years. (Something that has been proven wrong by science http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_and_Eve#Science_vs._literalism )

2) Ihedinobi was trying to argue that there would be no genetic defects from Adam and Eve's later offsprings from their inbreeding.



So those are the two arguments

For the first argument, we argued about the numbers

a) I said that it is more likely to be an arithmethic progression from two people. Using certain assumptions (considering how many offsprings added in each generation etc), you wouldnt arrive at 7 billion.

b) Anony used a geometric progression. This fails from the very beginning because it would always give an unrealistically high number. 1 billion people in china will turn to two billion in a common ratio of at least 2 in the next sequence. A geometric progression can never work no matter how you fiddle with the numbers


C) Ihedinobi supported Anony until he did research for a day to find out that scientists use exponential progression. He was wrong (supporting anony and then changed his mind.


That everyone seems to forget is that the scientists that use exponential growth do not start with the assumption of two people. Even exponential progression has its limitations and it is used with certain assumptions. I used an arithmetic progression since we were starting from 2 people and it was a far better measure than a geometric progression.



A word for the wise.

This is why they say arguing with fools makes one stupid.

Where've you been, dude? You just stood back and let MacDaddy make a capital fool of himself. Didn't even try to help him. Where's your humanity? Anybody who's got any brains in their head would see that we took it real easy with him. His last comments on geometric and exponential progressions aren't even laughable. He just stripped himself of every respect due to a possessor of human intellect with very little help from us and you made no effort to even help him a bit. Now that I offer him a chance to stop embarrassing himself, you waltz in to prevent him from taking it.

MacDaddy will probably try this foolishness again elsewhere, and on nairaland too, and capable children of God will tear his logic apart and expose his reason for the unreason that it is. You still won't try to help him then, will you?

The brotherhood you atheists display among yourselves is amazing. If this fool that wrestled with us had real friends and brothers among you, he'd have already been pulled out of his self-destruction. Or at least, some brother humanist would have warned him here. MusKeeto did, but I didn't see you. And you were one of his extolling crew. That's just a shame.

Science vs. literalism

You challenged the God and Owner of Heaven and Earth to a test of Intelligences. And you proved incredibly foolish and abominably ignorant before His Wisdom. You dared to say that you had a better formula for creation and came up empty when the formula was demanded of you.

You insist that you are wiser than the God of the Bible, the Fountain of all Knowledge, and have since you were put to the test been pleading ignorance.

You have been shown for the fraud that you are. Whether you accept that or not is up to you and will decide whether things begin to get better and turn around for you. You are a tin god. It is not where you will end up that is the beginning of the Gospel but where you are today. You can know total release today. It need not wait. He calls you today.

Your name's Phillip, right? I am asking nothing more of you than to prove practically and experientially for yourself whether Jesus Christ is good or not. Let go this heavy weight that is crushing you and driving you to attack the One Who sustains you in spite of your enmity against Him. Come home. Your Father awaits you.

@ OP, perhaps you should see these rants as another reson not to leave the church.

Remember what they said to Jesus, the head of the Church. They said he was a blasphemer. They said he healed with the help of demons etc.

And Jesus said: "if they persecute me, they will persecute you."
