atheists do not have a common universal belief system. Even the humanism stuff you wrote about is not an atheistic belief system as there are atheists that do not support that school of thought.
Apart from disbelief in God, there is nothing else that atheists everywhere share the same opinion. Even theists(christians and muslims) with their religious books and doctrines don't have one single thing bringing them together, they still have sects and all what not.

plaetton: yeah, I remember when a 17 yr old mormon boy came to preach to me. I stopped him halfway and asked him whether he had ever read the Quoran, he said no. I asked whether had ever read the Vedas, of Confucious or of Paraselsus, he repelied that he had never heard of them. So I asked him what kinds of literature he has read to gain knowledge, replied that he had only been reading the bible.

So I mildly scolded him and asked him why for someone who was yet to attend college, who has read nothing outside the religion of his parents, what exactly qualified him to preach to anyone about life.

onetrack: In addition, the word 'humanism' is probably less threatening a word than 'atheism'. Atheism is still a pretty shocking word to use in many parts of the world; even many newly-minted atheists have trouble using that word to describe themselves (myself included, back when..). Humanist is somehow a more acceptable word to use in the general population.

onetrack: Humanist organizations tend to fill the role of an atheist 'mission' or an organization. They don't strictly toe the atheist line but by and large their members are atheist or agnostic, and they do engage in various activities.

While I do think that the multiple id excuse isnt genuine enough, I very much agree you'v bn constituting nuisance. That topic moved to the diaries section isnt worth nada of anyone's time but I already gave a reply to it on the other thread you created asking Muslims to judge d mod. can you tell us how many threads yu'v opened concerning the mod, even opening one to sing for him. that is what being a nuisance is.

dorox: As a christian it is my opinion that it is very wrong for a child of that age to be teaching adults. A child of that age can't posses much understanding of the scriptures beyond the very shallow if at all any. In other words beyond parroting the words jesus loves you and john 3:16 along with a few other boiler plate verses and the promise of miracles as well as speaking in a cacophonous tongues of gibberish, he knows nothing.
Jesus did not start his ministry until he became an adult, his deciples were all adults. You might ask about Jesus being in the temple when he was just twelve years old, but do realise that he was there to learn and not to teach like that little boy. It was the depth of his questions that the adults around him found amazing.

I must confess Maclantunji or what ever he's called is becoming too strict, exactly like islam it self. I remember commenting on an islamic discuss that was brought to the front page only for my post to be hidden. I felt like 'What'! What just happened ? step 1: demand that you deactivate your brain's reasoning mode to be a true follower.

step 2: demand you believe their "truths" by faith, however unreasonable it sounds.

if you can believe one thing by faith, then you can believe anything by faith.
otherwise, those christians wont believe an 11 year old is able to know about life more than experienced adults.

I never said you were never a muslim. But to say Allahu Akbar is authentically the last word/expression of muslims gives me the window that your knowledge of Islam is not really sound: The messenger [sa] says whosoever says Laa ilaha ilAllah as his last word will definitely enter Jannah.


There is no place that Allahu Akbar should be the last statement. So when every muslim goes to bed he/she says Laa ilaha ilAllah.

so what ? How is His changing the laws on a moral stance wrong ? Or do you suppose he should have left it that way for consistency ? Besides he wouldn't be omnipotent if he could not effect changes.
