vedaxcool: I really sympathize with your predicament indeed! This is quite "unjust" to say the least! But legally, going by NL rules, he is right! That is u cannot use multiple ids without admin permission! Again annoying a moderator is also a ban- able offense! This means the law isn't on your side, but I say it is morally wrong to remember to enforce a law when it seems to suits you! Well take heart, seun the site owners runs NL like personal property because NL is indeed personal property!
I totally agree. I have always made it clear that Macdaddy is is logicboy. Maclatunji knew this for over a month and I have been using this account solely for over a month. Why now should he just wake up and ban me?

I am simply asking for fair moderation and enforcement of the rules

Avicenna: I was surprised when I tried to comment on that thread in diaries section. I had no permission to comment!
What the hell is that thread doing in diaries section? That's what I wanted to ask.

Tell me, what can I do?
Apart from a strongly worded email to Seun. I m doing that already. Tyranny must be stopped. Injustice and unfairness must be banished from this forum. Seun is being too lenient and therefore negligent.

Again, what can I do?
Thanks for the support!

And yes, such an email is the right thing to do in my opinion. We should let the truth be heard.

No one is asking for the removal of Maclatunji, we are only saying that he should be fair and consistent in his moderation
You have it wrong. Faith is a conviction quite alright, the question is: what do you have faith in?
Faith in something that is not true is what we call insanity or blind-faith.
Faith must be reasonable else it is not valid.
To put it simply, 'to have faith' simply means 'to believe'
The bold is nonsense. Faith is not reasonable. Can not be reasonable and will never be reasonable.

Believing in something that has no evidence or existence in reality is not reasonable.

God is unreasonable. There is no perfection or omnipotence in our existence or universe. A perfect god or omnipotent god can not exist.

Evil Brain: Great idea. Get all the atheists in one building so the fundamentalists can blow it up.

But seriously, this is an extremely bad idea. For one, atheists aren't the type to group together like the religious folk do. We are non-conformists by our very nature. Getting us to do anything together will be like herding cats.

Plus it won't serve any useful purpose and will only rouse up the fundies abd lead to more persecution.

I bet the politicians are looking for another opportunity to rouse the mob and distract Nigerians from their real problems. Since the gay marriage thing didn't work out, a plot by atheists would be the perfect opportunity.
Yep, I know that this is a downside to such an occassion.

However, you have to look at the other countries like Australia, UK, America and even india with their humanists associations and their sucessful conventions. If we keep giving into fear, nothing will change.

The reason why conventions are held in high class hotels is for the security.

justaqad: this is serious.
I am totally against this harsh treatment.why ban you?i dont think banning is the right step to take, cos his actions has given non-muslims the impetus to think islam's got secret.even if you deserve banning i think it should be legit.

Thank you!

.
To hell with the Banning...dont know whats wrong in expressing one's constructive and categoric self, let alone of uncovering the truths!
Seun isnt a muslim but he got a death threat from muslims and that is why he hardly does much on the islamm section.

However, thanks for the support

ifeness: You know the truth is bitter. Just like the Roman Catholics, religious people try as much as they can to stop people like you from telling the truth. I was ban from Naijapals for saying too much. You are experiencing the same thing Gandhi,Fela,Jesus(the arab man) experienced. Cheer up brother, the truth will always be bitter for the imams too!
Agreed but we should not keep quiet! This is the height of intolerance and abuse of power.

This is why our leaders and pastors are so corrupt, the know that people are too scared to tell the truth and they have sheep as members that would suppport whatever intolerant things they do
Nairaland GeneralMaclatunji Has To Be Stopped!! This Is Too Much!! by MacDaddy01(op): 1:30am On Aug 26, 2012
I just realised that I got banned for no reason in the Islam section. This has gone too far!

I have learnt from my previous banning how to escape Maclatunji; I focus on my own threads (no trolling in the islam section) and put lots of links or back up my posts so that no one can accuse me of lying. Apparently Maclatunji got frustrated at my criticising of islam within the rules that he had to bend the rules to ban me. He couldnt find any valid reason to ban me.

Maclatunji claims that I am using multiple IDs! I have been solely using "Mcdaddy01" for over a month. I have even had discussions with Maclatunji as "Macdaddy01". So what changed? Someone can just ban me when he feels like? How the hell can he claim that I'm using multiple IDs when I have been using the Macdaddy account for over a month since my troubles with my logicbwoy account?

www.nairaland.com/attachments/800140_mac_unfair_png8441dd75621d165b685b1242208297a1

Furthermore, he couldnt find any comment to ban or any chance to say that I'm trolling and so he remixed it to say that I'm a nuisance. Even if I was being a nuisance (which I was not), it is not against the rules. I didnt derail anybodys threads or cause wahala/trouble. This is becoming too much!

I have been banned for 3 months for not breaking any rules!!! angry angry

Worse off, Maclatunji now pushes threads to unreasonable and inappropriate sections.

Can anyone explain why this topic was moved to the Dairy section? Does such a thread fit in the diary section?
https://www.nairaland.com/1024221/difficult-issues-islam

Well, we can keep quiet and let this intolerance and power craze go on but that would be cowardice. I think this is getting too far. No one is asking for the removal of Maclatuji but his moderation has to be fair to non-muslims and he should NEVER abuse his power. What kind of nonsense is this? Moving threads to irrelevant sections and bending rules to ban someone?

There is another issue of going back to hide threads. I also realised that Maclatunji now goes back in time to hide or remove some old threads of mine....but this is another issue......

Sirniyeh: Great, I support the motion! But I'm already planning this in my area. Let me share my idea here:
Name: Reformed Fidelity Conference (RFC)

Vision: To enable mankind see the world and God in the mind to become great inventors of creativities and ...

Mission:
To sensitise people to ascertain the power of the mind. To enhance creative and innovative thinking. To promote emancipation of human mind from religious slavery mentality. To create business oriented mindset with openmindedness. To encourage the principle of cause and effect, veagance and nemesis.

Objectives:
1. Creating atmosphere for idea development.
2. Creating platform for contribution towards individual challenges.
3. Developing minds towards living conscious to spiritual law, medical law, psychological law, natural law, etc.
4. Promoting spirit of love, charity and equality.

The idea is this,
There is going to be rules and regulation.
Every interested member will have to fill membership form.
There is going to be voluntary donation on every meeting day.
It must definitely be weekly.
The meeting will not go beyond 3hrs.
There must be an established style (method) of simple worship.
It must be mandatory for every member to rise either in cash or kind when a member is in typical condition.
Every meeting, we worship, raise a topic for discussion, silent meditation, discuss individual challenges to profer solution, commit to voluntary giving, nominate different groups to reach out to people, etc. No pastor is required but we have scheduled for anchor of the programme.

Note: There is no religion, brotherhood, witchcrat, association nor humanism that does not belief in God. All RF, secret societies etc believe in originality of an unseen superforce. We must admit there is God but our motive of God must be defined. It is human mind that makes him spiritual. That's the goal of the whole thing.

Dear, nairalander, your contribution pls.
Why must there be a Judas 419 among 12 Nigerian disciples?

by the way such a convention will be a great idea and i wouldnt want to miss it.

and a suggestion: why not find out if any secular humanist group already exist in Lagos and lets work with them instead of you going solo. the more the merrier.

What do you think about having an atheist convention in Lagos for Nigerians?

Personally, It is not something that would be difficult for me to set up, especially in Lagos since I have links with some hotels that have conference rooms.

I know a lot of Nigerians who have begun to question religion too. NL has helped a lot, but the Boko Haram church bombings have been a gift in a sense.

Christians: Why is God not protecting his people? Even on Xmas Day? Unanswered prayers? Silent God? There's a reason?

Muslims: They're misled. Really? How? Why?

Religion is killing itself in Nigeria and Nairaland is supplying the weapons..

I am human. While I try to present factual arguments, I will get personal sometimes when angry.

Logicboy AKA Macdaddy
Christianity EtcRe: How Does An Atheist Repent? by MacDaddy01: 11:10am On Aug 25, 2012
plaetton: Athieism is not philosophical proposition. Atheists are not a homogeneous group that share certain certain creeds or code of conduct. No.
aside from not believing in supernatural deities, an atheist is just like any other human being, having the normal idiosyncraciess that come with being human.

Atheists have never claimed to be possessors of superior moral codes.
Being a prisoner of no religious creed, an atheist is more likely to take responsibility for his actions. An atheist, just like everyone else , may never be able to rise above the moral and ethical thresholds of his environment. For example, a corrupt nation will most likely have corrupt christians, moslems and atheists.

Therefore, an atheist is also subject to the same feelings of guilt, remorse, contrition, pretence, hypocrisy and rationalisation when confronting his own sins and weaknesses.

The only difference between an atheist and a theist in this case is that the atheist does not blame the devil for his weaknesses and does not Award himself a get-out-of-jail card in the form of prayer and forgiveness.
Epic comment sir!

You have said it all!

On a serious note, I know little about Islam. I have few Muslim friends, and they're normal everyday people. Tbaba has enlightened me a little on Islam recently.

That being said, does going from forum to forum with your faithlessness really make you brave?
Unfortunately you are right; going from forum to forum doesnt make me brave, just makes me look jobless. However, it is for a greater good. I believe that people learn from our arguments! some people have even confessed that they have changed faith because of the debates
Christianity EtcRe: What Would The Agnostic/atheist Look For In A God? by MacDaddy01: 3:05am On Aug 25, 2012
musKeeto: I know what a cultural Christian is, just like cultural Buddhism which is being practised in Japan, I think.

So you're not intolerant? Why do people accuse you of 'derailing' threads? Wasn't it banning that forced you to mature from 'logicboy' to 'macdaddy'? Do you accommodate the Christian beliefs? Accept you have a grouse with Christianity esp, it's fine.. Anyone who reaps me off for 22 years should expect nothing better.

Promoting one's beliefs consistently to those who do not share same, wouldn't fall under evangelism?

If I'm a non-vegetarian, and I keep walking into a veg restaurant touting the positives of being a non-veg and debunking the claims of the vegetarians, wouldn't that be evangelism?
You know why they accuse me of derailing threads! angry angry angry. It is a false accusation. I always stay on topic but since I debunk theier tithing scams and nonsense preaching, I got reported so many times and got banned so much. Not to boast but I kinda inspired some atheist revolution here on Nairaland

I am not intolerant to christianity. Some of my cousins and sibling are christians. I am intolerant to bigotry and lies. When someone spreads lies about tithing and prosperity, dont we have to moral right to educate or brothers?

Furthermore, I am also active on the islam section, unlike you and some other cowards.

Your vegetable analogy fails. This is a forum and not a church. I am not going to chruches to [preach atheism.

You cant even preach atheism. you dont preach facts, you teach them. There is no evidence for God
Christianity EtcRe: What Would The Agnostic/atheist Look For In A God? by MacDaddy01: 2:36am On Aug 25, 2012
musKeeto: I see no problem with most of your comments. If by 'no balls' u mean being tolerant and not tryin overtly to win people to my side, I'd accep that. You've described your dad as a Christian on this forum once. Is he also just a 'nice' guy? An atheist with no 'balls'?

You've got to realise what you hate sometimes: the excesses of the religion not the core which we assume is 'love'..

Some people have become better persons due to their beliefs. They are able to focus on the love parts of Xtianity and filter the 'horrible' parts. In reality, it truly changes them.

JoAgbaje won't describe me as a friendly unbeliever, neither would the other mad man FxxKing..

Btw, India and Nigeria are both very religious countries. But here in Chenai/Madras, they've all learned to live happily together: Christians, Hindus, Muslims....

Then along come some Nigerians with their dreadful loud morning prayers. The Indians were obviously uncomfortable with this. They called me over and asked me to talk to them. It took months to convince the idiooots that what they were doing was wrong.

Religion is not necessarily the problem in Nigeria but IGNORANCE and RELIGIOUS INTOLERANCE is. The latter, I am afraid, you're quite guilty of..
You made 2 accusations. First that I am intolerant and second, that I am some kind of evangelist overtly trying to wine some people to my side.

1) How am I intolerant? Have I oppressed anyone? The only religious threads that comment on are the ones that spread lies- eg tithe preaching, isreal worshipping, attacks on humanism etc.

2) Evangelist; while I want more people to be atheists, I am always satisfied if people are agnostics or skeptics or deists. I have never ever promoted one atheist book or website.

Also, you mentioned my dad. Are following your theist buddies in this line of guilt by association? My dad is a cultural christian. google that.

Not al agnostics are atheists without balls. Some like you are.
