PoliticsRe: APC Postpones Screening Of Presidential Aspirants Indefinitely by mach7(m): 9:40pm On May 22, 2022
This is all part of a grand strategy to impose a consensus candidate.

However, this "masterful" and "grand" game plan will lead to the fracture of the party.
PoliticsRe: Resumption Of Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Suspended Indefinitely by mach7(m): 8:09pm On May 20, 2022
This is the right thing to do.

Until all those who were kidnapped have been released from captivity, it will be insulting to restart the Train service.

If there was real justice in Nigeria, the erstwhile Minister of Transport, the Head of the Railway Corporation and Heads of Security agencies should have been held to account.

But then, this is Nigeria. undecided

Secondly, this igbofam is a chronic lier who claims is an EU energy expert working on some phantom energy deal, thirdly, 90% of his thread always turns out to be pure lies or out of context.. Finally, even Seun is pro-ukraine, u can see him even on Twitter shilling them....

Minutes ago, about 700 Soldiers in Mariupol surrendered and buses were sent to move them to Russian base.

Ukraine is calling for swap.
960 have surrendered so far. I don't think that they will be swapped, as these guys are the Azov battalion soldiers which the Russians want to prosecute.

Moreso, Russia as at last count had about 3,000 regular Ukrainian soldiers in captivity excluding the 960 mentioned above. While Ukraine has between 250-300 Russians soldiers remaining in their custody (they had previously swapped about 140 persons so far).

nams77:
Two things are evidently clear to a logical mind.

1) The army on the Ukrainian side side are foreigners. Highly trained special forces from different countries. In reality, Putin is fighting military personnel from several countries and adequately armed too. Even if Putin wins, it will be a phyrric victory.

2.) Putin is becoming like a pariah. Very few support base on a global scale. On how many fronts can he fight? With Sweden and Finland joining NATO?

I'm neither pro- Russia or Pro-ukraine. Just an objective observer
Aptly said, let me clarify some points though;

1. Yes, there are a lot of mercenaries and also soldiers under direct NATO command operating in Ukraine. Plus the mobilization base of the Ukrainians is over a million personnel against about 150,000 to 200,000 Russian forces comprising frontline combat, National Guard and auxiliary support forces (note that Russia has refused to mobilize as mobilizing means that the narrative changes from a Special Military Operation into full blown war - the politics of the narrative is a different matter entirely though). Hence, no matter how many Ukrainian soldiers are dying or surrendering, there are still many available to send to the front and they are being supplied with Western weapons (although certain obsolete models) and REAL TIME intelligence which is very valuable. Another point to note here is that Ukraine's economy is in a war mode, while Russia's is still operating normally. Hence, the dynamics are different.
Essentially, this a civil war which is fought between two brotherly nations but has now metamorphosed into a proxy war with the USA/NATO (who effectively controls the decision making organs of one of the parties to the conflict - Ukraine). For Russia, this is existential, so this conflict will gradually escalate until either victory (Pyrrhic or not) is achieved or it tips over into WW3.

2. Very few people understand the reason for this conflict and this is deliberate, as the global media has scrubbed all information to reflect only ONE POINT OF VIEW, which is that Russia is an aggressor and Ukraine is a victim. However, if you take pains to research and look at the root cause of this issue right from 2004, it becomes clear that this was a trap set for Russia, and Russia had to walk into it knowing the enormous cost it will bear nonetheless, as the alternative will have been to have a loaded gun pointed at the heart of Russia via the territory of Ukraine.
With regards to Putin being a Pariah globally, I wouldn't really say so. Majority of the nations in the Global South i.e. Africa, South America, Mexico, South East Asia, India & China are in support of the Russians. Their voices aren't the loudest because they don't have the media empire that the United States possesses, even the media that these countries possess aren't exactly broadcasting in English (so we don't really consider them) and they too are afraid of Sanctions to one degree or the other so they wouldn't openly voice out support.
However, if Russia does manage to win against all odds and breaks the hold of the United States over Ukraine, then expect a major seismic shift to occur with regards to the World Order (both politically and economically). This battle is for Russia's future as much as it is also for the future of the United States.
PoliticsRe: Ganduje Storms Shekarau’s Residence ‘to Stop Planned Decamping by mach7(m): 9:37pm On May 13, 2022
Ganduje should have arrested this issue right from the onset.

A 50/50 peace deal was proposed by Buni back then, which will have led to a reconciliation with the G7 faction. However since Ganduje won in court, he felt there was no more need to concede to Shekarau's group.

I think this moves are coming too late. Shekarau is already on his way out.

But how NNPP will accommodate both Shekarau and Kwankwaso considering their deep animosity towards each other, will be another wonder of the world.

why would he go through primaries he is bigger than that, the last PDP ticket he got it with right of first refusal

The greenlight have been giving more than enough times, APC owners are the ones literally adjusting their pattern and timetable to suit him
I agree with the primaries part, as it belittles him as a former president. However on the part of greenlight, I am not so sure.

See there is a lot of internal resistance, and if the APC Chairman/Cabals push his candidature through without the acceptance of all stakeholders, APC won't remain.
PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri Reacts To Punch Story That Jonathan Will Submit APC Forms Today by mach7(m): 10:08am On May 13, 2022
I hope Reno will not have to walk back all this comments, when Jonathan officially declares.

Jonathan in my view is simply playing a game of hide and seek. He really wants to contest under the flag of APC, but he doesn't want to go through primaries.

Once the greenlight is given (consensus), Jonathan will come out openly.

Let's watch and see.

Rawtruth1:
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, vacated the judgement of the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State, which voided the provision of Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act, 2022.

The appellate court, in a unanimous decision by a three-man panel of Justices led by Justice Hamma Akawu Barka, held that the high court, acted without jurisdiction.

It held that the Plaintiff, Mr. Nduka Edede, lacked the locus standi to institute the action.

According to the appellate court, Edede, failed to establish any cause of action that warranted him to approach the court on the issue, noting that the plaintiff was unable to prove how he was directly affected by that section of the newly amended Electoral Act.

Consequently, it struck out the suit marked: FHC/UM/CS/26/2022, which Edede filed before the Umuahia court.

Nonetheless, the appellate court, while determining the appeal on the merit, held that the said provision of the electoral law was unconstitutional because it is in breach of Section 42 (1)(a) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, stressing that the section denied a class of Nigerian citizens their right to participate in election.

The judgment followed an appeal marked: CA/OW/87/2022, which was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Specifically, section 84(12) of the Electoral Act, 2022, made it mandatory that political office holders must firstly resign from office, before they could vie for any elective position.

It reads: “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.”

I hope that clears your doubts

PoliticsRe: Buhari: All Ministers With Political Ambitions Must Resign Before May16 by mach7(m): 1:05pm On May 11, 2022
I thought the Appeal Court Judgement gave the Political appointees succour?

While the President's directive is commendable on moral grounds, the judgement given by the Court stipulated that Section 84(12) is unconstitutional....so why the confusion?

Ministers are within their rights if they choose to go to court (however, not advisable).

If you accuse of him repeating western narratives then, which narratives are you yourself repeating?... maybe Russian & Chinese narratives.

You also mentioned CNN & BBC talking points?Do you know that the kremlins spokesman, Dimitri peskov speaks & chats with this Western media's almost every day?

If this Western media's are not important to you they are very very important to the Kremlin.

At the beginning of this invasion, Russia closed most channels of communication between Russia & the western media. They rescinded their decision after they realized that they needed the western media's to tell their own side of the story.

Now, ask yourself why did Russia decided to open those channels of communication they blocked at the beginning of this invasion?
You need to put on your thinking cap. I follow both sides of the news and I chose what to believe which is corroborated by facts on the ground.

Dmitry Peskov is the Chief Information Officer of the Presidential Administration. It is his duty to speak with all Media Outlets including Western ones and provide answers to questions posed by them all. It doesn't mean that he believes them or that he needs them. They are all doing their jobs.

However, on the part of the Western media they do have an agenda of twisting facts, ignoring truths and running narratives provided to them by their own intelligence agencies.

On the part of communication channels, you are very wrong, Russia did not close out communication channels to the West. It was the West who banned all Russian media outlets from operating and broadcasting in the UK, US and European Union and Russia only reciprocated by applying similar bans on Western media outlets within Russia. Please don't twist the facts.

Finally, on this point on Communication channels. How many times have you seen the Russian media being given a chance to ask questions of Jen Psaki? None at all. So what conclusions can you draw from that?

So your claim on preventing communication channels or on rescinding their decision is false.

Fuckyoumod:
UN can't bite!

However, Russia can't back down now in shame, as backing down now would be too shameful and embarrassing to the state of Russia. Russia is tired of the war, but don't know how to end it.

Russia underestimated a united and committed Ukraine with a powerful western and NATO backing.

If Russia don't back down now, they would be left with no ego and face as they would be drained in this war economically, militarily and other cost. Because this war would linger for years. A lot of people don't know the west intends to drain Russia with a long war using Ukraine as the contact point.

Don't worry about Ukraine, they would be rebuilt by those using them. Russia can't sustain a long long war.

Where is Putinhuhhuh?

Tell him that the humiliation has not started yet. After 3 years of this war, Russia will be so exhausted and begging for a peaceful solution.

Already Russia elites are heading for Qatar in there numbers. They are leaving Russia for Putin. Lol.....
You are just repeating Western narratives without any credible evidence to back up such a narrative.

The Russians placed a deal on the table in February. Recognise DPR and LPR as independent republics and recognise Crimea as part of Russia. The Ukrainians at the behest of their Western sponsors refused to do so and Russia decided to settle it militarily.

If you think that Russia will not achieve these stated goals either on the battlefield or at the negotiating table, then you are naive and don't know nada about Russians and their mentality.

With regards to elites leaving Russia, I hope you do mean Oligarchs and some Actors/TV Personalities because the real elites - The political players and owners of large businesses (backbone enterprises of Russia) stand gidigba with their president. Insought in their eyes, Putin is too soft and too weak.

Try and broaden your horizon on Russia, following CNN or BBC talking points won't give you a coherent and non-contradictory perspective.
