Former Super Eagles Captain, 'Joseph Yobo' was unveiled as the global ambassador of the NPFL 'Nigerian Premier Football League" on Monday in Abuja,
by FIFA's president Mr Gianni Infantino who is on a two days working visit to Nigeria


Joseph Yobo, who spread the news across to his fans via his Twitter handle, said,;

“Honored to be unveiled @LMCNPFL Ambassador by @FIFA President Gianni Infantino. We must develop our Local League.”

This new development is indeed a positive one, as the (LMC) The League Management Company would tap into the wealth of experience and connections of the erstwhile Super Eagles and Everton FC Skipper to promote the local league and make it more appealing for corporate sponsorship through rebranding.

It would be re-called that Joseph Yobo represented the Super Eagles at (3) FIFA World Cups and six African Cup of Nations tournaments (leading the team to win the 2013 edition of the tournament held in South Africa), before announcing his retirement after the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. making him the highest ever capped player to play for the national team with a record breaking 101 appearances in the national colors.

An unprecedented history will be made at the RIO 2016 Olympic Games when Estonian trio, comprising of "3" Triplets Leila, Liina and Lily Luik cross the start line for the women's marathon event in RIO.


The blond, blue-eyed identical, sisters from the southern Estonian university town of Tartu, now 30 years old, only took up distance running professionally when they were 24.
Liina, who got the sisters to start running, said long-distance running appealed to them more than the highly technical nature of sprinting.

"We have been active since childhood, we love dancing, we love to be active and this pushed us to professional sports," Lily said.

After a couple of years, they realized they were good enough to take part in international competitions. They decided to try for the Olympics, adopting the slogan "Trio to Rio" to give shape to their hopes of all three competing in the Olympics.

"We saw ... after one year we had good results in Estonia and we thought we could achieve something good also outside of Estonia and to do some big competitions like European Championships and the Olympic games," Lily said.


The triplets are believed to be the very first set of identical triplets who would compete against each other at the Olympic level.
In competition, the sisters say they support each other emotionally and even in race tactics, such as taking it in turns to act as wind breakers.
The sisters who live separately back home in Estonia ,have to train apart sometimes. However, they regularly spend winters together at a high-altitude training camp in Kenya, and they obviously appear to enjoy each other's company, chatting away while training. They will all be training in the northern part of Italy from June in preparation for The Rio Olympics proper.

"It is boring to train alone," said Leila.

With the current form of Ethiopian superstar Tiki Gelana, who set the Olympic record of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 7 seconds in London in 2012 and also the silver and bronze medal times, which were 2:23:12 and 2:23:29. The Luik sisters are not favored to end up on the podium at Rio 2016.

By contrast, Leila, the oldest of the triplets, has the fastest personal best at 2:37.12, set in Shanghai in 2013. She is followed by Liina, whose personal best is 2 minutes and 30 seconds slower and Lily, the youngest, who is a further 45 seconds back.

When asked about their goals and objectives for the RIO games, All three agreed in unison saying" We want to finish together, to set personal bests and finish with a smile. About the prospects of bringing home an Olympic medal, they responded with;

"It would be great ... it's like our dream, and we know that we have to live in reality. It is very hard to compete against the Kenyan runners. We are not at the same kind of level as they are now, but in two or three years we can do that."

According to "Harry Lemberg", the man who coached the Luik sisters from the beginning,;"Even if the sisters are so identical in appearance, "If all three of them run together, I can easily tell them apart if all three of them run together."

A Pastor of The Harvesters International Christian center (HICC), Pastor Bolaji Idowu caused a major stir recently during one of the
Church's service, by 'Ass Whipping' a congregation member in a bid to interpret a bible verse.

The Pastor made use of a rather strange method to demonstrate the scriptures while preaching his sermon titled "Is God Angry At Me".
One of the congregation member volunteered himself to be 'Ass Whipped' in order to illustrate punishment for the sin committed by the erring son in the bible. As seen in the photos,The Pastor gave him a few good strokes as the rest of the congregation watched in amazement.

After the drama, Pastor Bolaji Idowu pointed out that the erring son was completely free and could not be punished anymore as the other person had taken his place. The man of God further explained in his sermon which focused on opening the eyes of believers to the simple truth that God cannot be mad at them, by saying that;

“As believers which we are, we are hid in Christ and since God is pleased with Christ he is pleased with us too as joint heirs of Christ. Therefore, when we err or do wrong, God isn’t mad at us, he is only angry at the Sin".

But today I took my precious mum to the park, but when I was coming back, I met people gathered,so It was when I parked that I was told a man boarded a taxi at dangotte area of ilorin, he sat at d front seat, and he died before getting to Offa garage junction, its just like 5mins drive that the man died... It was so sad, when people called d last calls on his phone, we learnt he was going with them to a ceremony..They later came... But what made me to be sadder was that, when d man gashed, and showing the sign of last breath,the taxi driver packed, even he didn't park well, and he ran out of d vehicle, told d people around, and he took a bike to a police station..its sad, the fear of police trouble made him not to take d man to the hospital, even people who gathered with the man's friends cant act because of police fear, we waited for close to 2hrs before police came, took picture, and take him away... in all, pls we must change our laws in Nigeria,must people fear police than d life of a dying people..people don't want to help to avoid police wahala .instead of hospital, is police station..even the man may not have died if timely taken to the hospital..its seems is heart attack sha, but may God save us as numerous people are battling with various health challenges,,we even learnt the man shows no sign of illness this early morning...Death can come anytime. Let's do good all the time...
