http://www.egyptsearch.com/forums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=005518 have a look at this egyptian thread, Egyptians are even debating Igbos. |
Have you not heard of Nsu pyramid ? |
I think this should be a welcome development |
SE need a refinery not becos she is an oil producing region but her enormous untapped economic potential that the refinery will unleash |
Poster could you pls enlighten us on how it was possible that the igbos built pyramids - Nsu pyramids , and caves with no knowledge of the ones in Giza, built story buildings out of mud etc ? |
morpheus24: Wetin concern una for inside South Africa? Another man country, why don't you build it in EnuguForget resistance, igbo are blessed people who have the ability to overcome obstacles. See the way, despite awolowos 20 pounds, igbo are controlling the economy of Lagos, if they can replicate that in South Africa and beyond it will be absolutely beautiful . It's a win win, the host community get improve facilities and some jobs - cleaners, security etc while the igbos get improved financial ability and power. |
I don't see clamouring for a refinery as whining and defeatist, igboland has vibrant growing economy that needs such project to even grow bigger, provide well paying jobs to the teeming young bright graduate qualifying from prestigious institutes abode in the land. What is wrong in that? |
. |
CyberG: Stop being a lilly-livered ass kisser. Let the FG cite the refinery in Lagos and I think the SW folks will decide if they want to build anymore. You seem to have become so compromised by iboz, their crying now makes you an apologizer and ass kisser to them, why? Iboz are extremely ungracious and the only answer to any of their force is EXTREME BLUNT FORCE.CyberG, all igbos are asking for is simply fair play. Live and let live. We have been victimised for so all, just an opportunity to galvanise their specialial god given ability to the fullest. If Israelis can turn a desert into a flourishing city and agricultural farmland why do you think the Igbo - whom time and again have proven to have better and higher intelligence than our cousins the Israelis not be able to transform this hell called Nigeria to heaven ? |
GARRI (x7):This is not funny |
Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria, having investments in Lagos will reap more benefit, promote the Industrial capacity of the country and unite the people |
Is Lagos not the capital ? |
Nice development , but should they rather not invest that money in Lagos ? |
The newly elected president of Ohaneze Ndigbo, South Africa Chapter, Mr Smart Okeugiri as announced plans for his administration to build an Igbo speaking school and Igbo cultural merchandise market in South Africa, reports Nigeriancompass.com. the proposed International market Maintaining that Igbo are largely business-oriented, the leader of the South African branch of the Igbo group expressed hope that the International Market and Special School, on completion, would, among other things, foster unity, strengthen business ties between Igbo and their South African counterparts and promote export and import trade with the South African government. This development follows the completion of the mandate report and draft of the five year economic plan of Igbo in SA. The report It covers Igbo communities in the nine provinces of South Africa, namely, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape, kwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Free State, North West and Limpopo. The aims of this exercise is for the umbrella body to (1) have an accurate gauge of the numeric strength of Ndigbo in South Africa (2) harmonize our collective struggle for economic integration (3) identify tangible challenges facing Ndigbo peculiar to the South African environment and, (4) come up with feasible five-year development plan for Ndigbo. After touring the provinces, it became apparent that Igbo communities are strikingly similar in the sense that what is obtainable among Ndigbo at Mpumalanga, for instance, is also what goes in Limpopo. Igbos live together, trade together and worship together. The same town union found in one province is replicated in the other eight. Such scenario convinced the Panel to lock on a particular province as case study for the rest. Chairman and members unanimously picked Gauteng, seat of national Ohaneze Ndigbo South Africa. On-the-spot assessment constituted the basic methodology. The Panel also consulted records from the government of South Africa, Igbo town unions, local government and state associations; as well as private persons. Oral interviews from countless Igbos were entertained and incorporated into the report. read the rest here http://www.igbolandforum.com/index.php?topic=592.0 |
Igbo taught Egyptian pyramid building , doubt it try visiting Nsu pyramid in Enugu and see majestic igbo architecture still standing after millenniums |
Ohaneze really need to champion the building of majestic museum for the igbo nation. Our noble culture and imperious bravado needs to be re-told and preserved for eternity . |
Good for enugu |
Igbo need a refinery. There is no federal presence yet In igboland, hving a refinery would not only create Indirect employment but wud jump start many moribund industries in the region. Many plastic Industries need the raw material from refineries. Reduce the cost of refined products in the east, which is currently 1.5% higher than national average. Help mitigate the stress and persecution faced daily by ndigbo marketers Would show a genuine commitment to mitigate the marginalization faced by the average igbo. And aftermath of the Biafra war . |
Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the exclusion of the southeast in the proposed refineries to be established by the federal government. The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, had told aviation correspondents that government would use the money realized from the removal of oil subsidy to rehabilitate the existing refineries and then build new ones in Bayelsa, Kogi and Lagos states. president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State chapter, Chief Oliver Akubueze, said that the exclusion of south-east from the states where the new refineries would be located is not fair. According to him, Southeast should be considered for the location of the refineries, going by the fact that it is also oil producing geo political zone and has the least of federal presence among all the geo-political zones in the country. He urged President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that the neglect of the southeast, which has been the trademark of successive governments does not continue. Akubueze said that southeast deserves one refinery among other numerous federal presence. His words,” It is very disheartening to hear from the Minister of Information Labaran Maku, that how the revenue to be generated from the proposed removal of oil subsidy would be shared has been concluded without a mention of the southeast. I want to say that this is not acceptable to us. The time has gone when Ndigbo are relegated to the background. President Jonathan should make sure that Ndigbo is involved in the scheme of things in the country. What is the basis of selecting Bayelsa, Kogi and Lagos for the location of new refineries while no state in the southeast was selected. For how long would they continue to remind us that we were vanguished? |
