okikiosibodu: The 531mb option, will that take me to.... 12 or I will need the 1.7gb file for that? I think you should manually search for the 10.3.12 update, download and update through the updater app, because even if you do this download 10.3.10 you will still get another update notification for 10.3.12. |

okikiosibodu: Acknowledged. By the way, I need some clarification on this pls. I went to setting>About phone>System update and saw 531mb. But when I went further to "Download latest packages", I was 1.7gb. Pls can you shed more light on the difference? I typed everything before but it got wiped off by my browser. Had to type again. I think the 531mb is an incremental update while the 1.7gig is the entire update package. I stand to be corrected though. I say this because the last time I got an incremental update notification it was about 138mb but after downloading and it failed to update, I relaunched the updater app only to discover that it is now showing an update of about 1.7gig. |

Poshguy2: Mostly I download the updates from MIUI website. If I download it from update in settings, it won't install with twrp, it always says error installing or file corrupted. So I usually download the full ROM then flash. But with orange fox recovery, I can now install incremental updates. Are you sure about this? I have orange fox recovery installed but couldn't update after downloading the incremental update through the updater app while I was on stock miui, i had to manually download and install. Is there a specific settings b4 I can achieve this? Though I've moved to miui.eu, I didnt bother to use the updater app when I got an update. I just manually downloaded and update. |

Sigba2: Thank you. Did you get it online? I don't seem to find Xiaomi product here in Portharcourt. Check pointek or fine brothers @ artillery. Or contact macbeyland, his advantage is that you'll get freebies for almost the same price that pointek sells. |

Mark9854: please does the sacrifice come with the miui 11 or did you set your phone to be slower 4 better battery life? miui 11 is not the cause. I installed a kernel manager(a kernel balances how a phone uses its resources ie ram, cpu, gpu, battery etc). when a phone is set (with the help of a kernel manager) to operate on its maximum capacity it consumes more battery and gives good performance but on the other way round its gives better battery life but a reduced performance. So maximum settings=more power used=more performance=less battery backup. Minimum settings=Less power used=less performance=more battery backup. |

Gptech: Not worth it then, even if battery life improves twice. You can't say! Remember different strokes for different folks. This test was the barest minimum, I will be testing another set of values to see if I can get an improvement in performance with atleast 9-10hrs sot. Which I think is very ok for any user. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by maclawrence02(m): 9:58am On Oct 02, 2019 |
Final result. The trick here is you will have to sacrifice your phones performance to get more battery backup. I decovered that the phone became slow in performing some task. Gcam processing took a longer time, triple finger screen shot was slow, switching from app to app through gesture navigation was also slow. Browsing was ok with mtn 4g, playing music, watching movies and most other basic task was very responsive.

Reddington: I use Xiaomi.eu too...have been using it ever since I got my phone. I'm just interested in the content of Miui 11. I don't just upgrade because it's "a new update", there has to be hugely significant change(s) before I do. You may not believe it but I'm still Oreo just because of its superior display colors and insane stability. I installed pie minutes after it came out but downgraded in less than 2 days because I don't like it - the dark mode is cool tho, but Oreo has it too. Until there's absolutely the need to, I may never leave Oreo/Miui 10. Thanks for your review tho. Don't mention. |
