it's your fathers that are fools because we Yoruba call Edo, Ado

Le Gull: Linguistically, Bini language has no roots with any other culture.

Culturally, the Bini arts crafts, traditions and religion are unique to that empire.

The Bini Empire had witnessed several long ruling dynasties far greater than any other in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa apart from ancient Egypt.
No one says Benin culture is has roots in any Yoruba city but as for the Eweka dynasty's Omo n'oba of Benin Oba Erediuwa, his ancestors were buried in Ife, as a way of honouring the land of their fathers

His bloodline is traced back to Oranmiyan, as the Ooni Ife and Alaafin of Oyo too

Le Gull: Why is this nonsense on FP?

The Bini Empire was well documented in history as being independent than the Yoruba empire.
yes Bini are independent but where did their royal family come from = Ife

Infact Before Eweka I (son of Oranmiyan), The Adimula of Ife was the one who controlled Bini as Oranmiyan was sent as a representative..... I wouldn't want to go deep in this bit cause not much people know this...it would only cause commotion

Rexxie: now this is some pretty interesting history..but something tells me something happened that made da benin obas to steer clear of ile-ife or were banned frm 'ife..what cud possibly be d reason behind that? From d gods or what?
I don't think this tradition is still held today.

Before the Ooni Ife is not supposed to leave Ife or let foreigners(non ife) see his face but it's not so anymore

musiwa112: that is wrong.. for the burial.. it is fake.. they will never bury the oba of benin this way.. it is fake..

my great grand father was the emperor of western nigeria... akanbi, the father of ooni of ile ife is the child of the third son .

lagos seaport was built under my great grand father... so is the railway line from lagos to jebba.. so the correct answer is not ile ife.. but i am not allowed to tell you online.

dontjealousme: Oba of Benin is the Oba of all yoruba Oba. Benins rule over yoruba land. Yorubas are slaves to Benin.
dontjealousme: "ile ibenu" wat does that mean? A proper ile ife man would know.

Only run away slaves from Benin will refer to their encampment as such on route to ile ife. Yoruba Race are run away slaves from Benin.
undecided mad man
As if it's not the Igbo onitsha people that are said to be runaway slaves and prisoners from Bini

Arosa: So Ado Ekiti was part of the then Benin empire right?
Yes, but it has nothing to do with the names

Ado was named so from the 13th century, way before Bini began to grow it's military

But Ado Ekiti was only part of Benin for a short while as Oyo were invited to play diplomats
Oyo took over but lost it's hold as well

Redoil: Land grabbers at it again. You people will never learn that the benin kings are always burried in benin. You saw a shirine and so what..
O God...why do you people like acting stuupid

This is about history here not some greedy politics that has destroyed our traditions

It would be so disappointing if you are Bini or from any where in Edo state, that would be a shame to you and your family for making this comment with so much lack of knowledge
But if you Igbo, it's very much expected

Tobbie9: Boko haram will set a bomb and there won't be casualties(how stupid do u think they are) so every bomb that goes off in Nigeria is now boko haram, lots of educated illiterates on nairaland, useless bigots
shocked dude this is just a test round

boko haram aren't conversant wit Yoruba system, they would of course fail the first few times but if nothing is done to strengthen security I bet Much more bombs would go down killing hundreds in that same Ile-Ife

Whether it's boko haram or not we know these are supporters of boko haram - these are muslims trying to make a statement in Osun state
We know religious crises between not only Christians and muslims but pagans too have been on for some time now in Osun

le bien connu: Dynamite? 4.00 am? when no one is likely to be injured? This is definately not the style of Boko Haram but that of 'Boko Haram'. The last time, it was bangers in a church. Now its a dynamite. Maybe its a drama too.

To all muslims trying to defend Allah (swt). No one and absolutely no one can exonorate Him from all these false accusations against Him by the so called Boko Haram and 'Boko Haram'. Only He can defend Himself. The way He defended His house against the people of elephants.

Many non muslims today now mock His name just for the fun of it. Naturally, knowing that all these claims are fallacy, one tends to be incensed but I plead with all muslims to keep calm, continue to pray to Allah to clear His name and watch as events unfold. Otherwise, if a religious crisis erupts, 'Boko Haram' will have achieved their intention.

Recently, in the same osun state, some 'Boko Haram' detonated bangers in a church only to discover they were working with thier pastor just to cast aspersion to the name of Allah (swt) when they were aprehended. imagine what would have happened if they were not caugth.

"...who is more unjust than the one who fashions a falsehood against Allah."
grin o pls let's hear word...Allah commissioned boko haram
All they do is as Mohamed would have done even worse

Islam is a danger religion that produces terror criminals

InesQor: I don't think Jesus "became God" or that a "Trinity was built around the three of them".

Rather they are a yardstick against which others can be measured. There is a reason the Jews called God "The Most High".

When measuring things, there has to be a standard set before any other thing. That standard is God, and whether God has other manifestations to MAN is beyond my current religious paygrade (speaking for myself). Maybe someday I'll know for certain.

As at now I've come to believe in the "three" manifestations / roles that I described above. Again I'll use the enterprise analogy.

The Project Manager / MD / CEO, The Direct Supervisor / Team Lead / Head of Department, and The Human Resources Manager. The 3 of them are the partners that started the company and they have equal stakes / shares. That's the Trinity. They are the yardstick for the company. Everyone else is trying to buy into their shares, few shares here and there. Unless they choose to sell it all off, there's no way you can join their league.

Of course it's possible there are other departments within that organization (which means another Team Lead / HOD somewhere). And it's possible there are one or more shadow staff / secret partners / founding members. But as an employee in the company, this is what I currently have to work with until I'm convinced otherwise.
Ok! But still doesn't address how Jesus is God, how Jesus has more right to God the father than any other creation.
Unless Jesus wasn't created by God.
Blind atheists whom atheism has blinded.A persons belief in God requires him to do everything according to the dictates of God in His holy book.Yes God requires you to visit the doctor when you are sick, visit the mechanic when your car breaks down etc.Its in the book.

You can also stylishly ignore the countless times God instucted His human subjects to use human methods & agencies to accomplish His divine purpose when He could have easily done it by instant miracle.Examples are countless times he instucted Israelites on specific things to do to win a battle when He could have easily come down & won the battle for them

.He instucted Jeremiah through Isaiah on the herb to take & recover when he could just make the ailment disappear with a wish.

Atheists don't deserve answers cos they don't want one & I certainly won't give you more than this so go ahead & throw your stones.
You mean like how God instructed his people to utterly destroy the neighbouring nations and rape their women undecided

Ok! First Christian I see to be intelligent enough to have realized the presence of God in all creation

But how has Jesus become God himself? As such that a trinity is built around them?

Your ideology of God in everything makes the trinity very shaky, as I too can have the God essence 100% and I join the trinity to make 4 grin and how do we know other people who have lived haven't achieved this God essence in 100% say Guatama Buddha or Orunmila Baba Agbonmiregun??

Ubenedictus: i don't even know where you are coming from and where you are going to, you have manage to rant about nothing.

My God understands suffering not just relatively or according to his omniscience but also personally because 2000yrs ago he too human nature in the person Jesus, lived among men, grieve with them and was sad, was happy and exited, was angry...he felt the full spectrum of human emotion, he also went the spectrum of suffering, he was betrayed by his friends, denied by his disciples ridicled by his people. He went all the way, he experienced our suffering in his own person, he suffered with us.

That is what the christian message says.
Lmao so Jesus was God himself and felt pain knowing that the pain would be over in 33 short years and he would be back to his throne in the sky

What's the sacrifice and pain in setting up my own death when I can resurrect and rid myself of the pain.

If Jesus were not God - the all powerful, all knowing. He could have felt real suffering because he wouldn't have known he would be the king of the world after the event

I've heard numerous lies like, "I saw jack lift this box through telekinesis" therefore "juju is real." here in Nairaland.

Have you ever wondered:

* What happened at ALUU? How come the whole World knew about the event?

* The Ejigbo torture that took place around February last year, how come the World got to know even after the whole event had already passed by months and was witnessed by a few people??

Every odd, entertaining, eye-catching and even, in some cases, illegal event in Naija never escape the camera of an average Nigerian. Dana air crash site was captured Live burning, ALUU lynching scene was captured Live, pictures and videos filled the internet of all these events but surprisingly, the only places we find capture of Live juju action tend to only exist in Nollywood movies.

What's the matter?

Why do Nigerians forget their smartphones at home whenever these mindblowing shows take place?! (who doesn't want blog traffic or Youtube views?)

Actually, those things never happened.

I used to be among those bunch of losers who came on religious boards proclaiming that I saw a LIVE juju take place before my very eyes when I actually didn't: I just heard from people who heard it from people and so goes the chain.

Stories of Miss Koikoi, Bunk Shaker and other bullshit we were told in Boarding school weren't different at all.

God has the ability to foreknow the future, but He does not use it always. ie, His omniscience is inherent, not total.

No one is going to burn in an everlasting fire. That isn't true. People interprete figurative statement as if it was literal.

God did not create satan, rather a righteous angel God created turned himself into being satan.
