In other news I go try renew my visa via Dropbox but as it turned out I was refusedthe V.O say the money MIHS charged was too cheap, say the government must have some monies and monies must have been written off. I'm both angry and disheartened. I just found I didn't have the strength to start arguing after she returned my passport.thinking what my next line of action should be..... |
Eeya kpele, don't bother yourself calling them anymore. Please just send out a mail. Then try again just incase it's a network problem. Sometimes these call centre folks know little or nothing. Try requesting their cards and e transaction folks to run a fresh check on your card. If they don't burge jeje use online banking to wipe out some cash and move on to the next available sensible bank. |
Amother4life I am surprised your Stanbic card is giving you issues, now did you inform your bank you were travelling out? If you didn't then you have to send the customer care Nigeria a mail informing them your about the embarrasement the failure if the card has caused you , then your location and how long you may be staying ,once this is done you should be all good. I'm 100% sure this would help.cheers |
Thanks Wayinoma, yours is certainly the best and closest we have so far. Will be taking that route. @ Hotstepper, you dey try o, you're the tallest angel of our lives on this forum . Nice work. Have a good one folks... |
Abeg o people no vex but has anyone applied for a medical Visa here for birthing or has anyone tried informing the Canadian authorities about birthing on Canadian soil before proceeding? If una know Person wey don do the above abeg tell us, make we know how ,so we can build on their knowledge and experience. Phema,Nobody,Nita 2013 ozycy, sayoberry I see you all! U are all well seated.... |
A piece of advice for those trying to book Emirates online and pay in a bank; know that it's very possible, just pick the pay by card option, when you get to the next phase look out for the pay by interswitch, click that go to the next and tick the pay in the bank option and move on ...if you tick that it won't charge your card, but if you do not then you would be debited. Should anyone have problems please PM. Or post your dates n I could do a trial booking for you. I no be agent o but it's funny how I book flights everyother week just to see if rates will increase or decrease . |
Just found this link while reading up stuff. http://clearhealthcosts.com/blog/2014/06/much-childbirth-cost-draft/ |
adycatus no vex o but I love you much much, talk about preparedness and confidence. Congratulations on your landslide entry, enjoy Arizona my person, Its lovely out there. Will PM you for more details on Doctors and d scope of the bill for the hospital bill package. cheers. |
Teehey, there's no short cut to that o for most airlines, a lap infant ticket is 10% of the accompanying adult. You go try make u gather the cash abeg. |
@ cinakin even me dey feel you right now... But knowing that people differ and have different perspectives i just chill out. Abeg my people una fit help help me with names of ticketing agents with reasonably cheaper offers. Although its just a holiday ticket i need, i no plan born anytime soon. |
Wow part 4, Na so time dey fly.Adebrave,Justwise and other NL elders I greet you. Zeelady, I think the reason for your refusal was insufficient funds... What you need to do as some other poster said, get your budgeting right, make sure your bank statement , birth plan, and funding is robust enough to cover additional bills, emergencies, living costs , transportation and much more. You would stand a better chance applying alone, as your husband would be your proof of ties back in Nigeria. I hope this helps. |

hi Nissiparts please could you send me the document so i can try to digest all the info, In the time being i have a RX300 lexus 2000 model and the fuel economy is nothing to write home about, the car gulps petrol like hell, got to know from a mechanic that there isnt a catalyst in the exhuast system. Im so tired of this problem that i need to do something FAST. Whats your advice buy another exhaust? or buy the oxygen thingy you spoke about? please pardon me o.Help a desperate sister out! |
The stanbic story is for real; Used my card for all sorts of payment including rents and wasnt getting charged extra. Though i cant say the exchange rates are the lowest one could find around cos i didnt bother checking always; make hypertension no come enter the matter. |
You can Never be all sure of that o. Either way she needs to provide her passport details or date of birth alongside her full names. You guys stop kidding by thinking a visa cannot be cancelled without you having to provide a passport number. |
Please MIHS mum's, are there test I need to do from nigeria? Thanks alot You may or may not, they would redo those tests anyway, but just so they have an idea you may take copies of tests, scans and a doctor's report. But most importantly your earliest scans are required. |
pls how did u estimate the amount of diapers and wipes u bought? And did u ship them or u carried with ur luggage? thanks Try searching online, I got a number of estimated diapers needed from some web pages when I googled. |

@dittobaby No be small thing, Tvegas na serious consultant, His advice...great great. My husband na chief planner but nothing concern am with baby food names. I must confess too I just wrote down the names of food Tvegas mentioned and I am checking them out. I dey learn from a man, hmmmm. How nice. Abeg make una pay Tvegas for him work. Just a lil word in addition Ensure your baby agrees with the formula you intend to stock up on esp if you live in Abuja..... Remember stuffs like baby seats, walkers, rockers, toys, musicals, character plates & cutlery, wipes, diapers, pullups, little swimmers diapers, beddings, shoes and clothes from 0 to 24months, hair pieces, lunch bag and water bottle. |
[quote author=dittobaby post=33671263]Haven't gotten any solid answer to my questions yet. In my last trip to London the porter, at Heathrow airport, who pushed my wheelchair was very upset when I put my almost 2yrs old son on my lap so that my husby could comfortably push the luggage. I tried pleading with him but he explained that if he allows me and my son falls off he could lose his job. Since then I have been wandering what if I had traveled alone with my son. In the next few weeks, God willing, I will be traveling with my son and my mum. My mum will also be on a wheelchair because of the arthritis on her leg. So who would carry my son and push the trolley? To be on the safe side, I think I'll just book for a wheelchair for my son and hope that another porter would handle the luggage. Hmm what a sight we would be! ![]() Sweetheart jeje call the airline, request extra help/ assistance and mention you have a toddler in hand and cajole them to give you, your mum and kid a ride to your supposed gate with those airport toyish looking cars. In many airports you are not allowed to carry a toddler on lap on a wheelchair but they can always call the airport officials with those vehicles to help commuters and their belongings |
[quote author=Fizzywah post=33679653]I used PSI and buy most things from Amazon and send to Abuja (Via Houston of course). I use my work address off Herbert Macaulay in CBD Abuja as delivery address and everything is brought intact. Amazon has good tracking so I know when my items arrive Houston first. Then I place a call (sometimes, esp when I started) to the warehouse in Houston to do an inventory of all my items. Like someone said here airfreight is 2 weeks, if there are logistics delays due to Naija customs then delivery may get to 3 weeks at best. You can call for them to hold your items so long as they don't need to keep them for too long so that all items get consolidated and sent together. 125 pounds worth of items is roughly N120,000. Is it worth it Hope this helps. This is what my wife and I like (Baby crib) and its shipping weight is around 62 pounds which is roughly N50,000 to ship down here (minus cost of crib). I don't think it's worth the hassle. I think it's better to pay N70,000 for one in the stores here in Naija. http://www.amazon.com/Delta-Children-Canton-Convertible-Espresso/dp/B0031KMAJK/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1431465809&sr=1-1&keywords=delta+crib For about N45,000 one can also get these nice Graco playards with bassinets that babies can use as a crib until they are at least big enough for it to be used as a play yard for them. Others choose to introduce their little ones to cribs from the onset. Please experienced mammas what are your preferences as na our first be this ? Crib immediately or bassinets/sleepers.http://www.amazon.com/Graco-Playard-Reversible-Napper-Changer/dp/B00GY8J8H8/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1431466074&sr=1-2&keywords=graco+playard I have the Graco 3 in 1 park n play, and it's just great, serves it's purpose. As a changing station, bed and eventually play pen. I think I recommend that at least till your baby outgrows it or you buy a bed for your kid |
@tvegas, and Anyone willing to sow or sell a baby crib abeg holla! I need one desperately. I go pay. My baby loves to sleep on her own, seat on her own and watch everything going on in the world, she's outgrown her bassinet cos the babe tall. It so happens I though I would not need a crib, bought n shipped almost everything else, diapers, wipes, formular, clothes, toys, walker, potty, baby car et al.... I advice everyone who can please buy all your supplies n ship via sea freight. (used a shipper in Newark got my stuff in 25days) PM for their contact anyone interested. Thanks |
MadameU Did you mean that you shipped stuff by sea from Newark and it took 20days? Yes mate, shipped by sea o, got to Lagos after 20 days, from there got someone to send them to Abuja. Received stuffs in2 days via ABC express. @newmum the Cargo wise guys contact Mr Molumo 770833-4420. |
[quote author=Newmum15 post=33643028]Thank you so much...I'd start looking around for one If you won't mind getting a shipper out of Atlanta you can pm me for details, used a shipper in Newark, ie via sail and my stuff got to Lagos in just 20days, and it cost little. But if that would be too long try the Cargo wise people or corporate messengers. I've used them both. |
0yin:Cargo wise LLC. |
[quote author=sucre26 post=32894940]please I need an urgent reply on this if anyone can help out. I was at the US embassy last week and I was given an admin letter to come back with my corresponce with the doctor and a birth plan. I've gotten the corresponce but I feel its not detailed enough. I got a reminder from the doctor about my upcoming appointment and I also replied. Is that enough to take back to the embassy? Also, I'd like to know what a birth plan constitutes. I'm planning on using MIHS. Hi my advice is go with whatever correspondence you have, a print out of the maternity package agreement, a breakdown of intended expenses related to child birth and a detailed breakdown of how you would want your actual delivery to be conducted. There are samples of such birth plans online.. All the best. |
Ok na! Oga just wise you self don get belle? Let's all be gentle and cautious to one another abeg. |
