In other news I go try renew my visa via Dropbox but as it turned out I was refusedthe V.O say the money MIHS charged was too cheap, say the government must have some monies and monies must have been written off. I'm both angry and disheartened. I just found I didn't have the strength to start arguing after she returned my passport.thinking what my next line of action should be.....

Eeya kpele, don't bother yourself calling them anymore. Please just send out a mail. Then try again just incase it's a network problem. Sometimes these call centre folks know little or nothing. Try requesting their cards and e transaction folks to run a fresh check on your card. If they don't burge jeje use online banking to wipe out some cash and move on to the next available sensible bank.

Amother4life I am surprised your Stanbic card is giving you issues, now did you inform your bank you were travelling out? If you didn't then you have to send the customer care Nigeria a mail informing them your about the embarrasement the failure if the card has caused you , then your location and how long you may be staying ,once this is done you should be all good. I'm 100% sure this would help.cheers

Abeg o people no vex but has anyone applied for a medical Visa here for birthing or has anyone tried informing the Canadian authorities about birthing on Canadian soil before proceeding? A piece of advice for those trying to book Emirates online and pay in a bank; know that it's very possible, just pick the pay by card option, when you get to the next phase look out for the pay by interswitch, click that go to the next and tick the pay in the bank option and move on ...if you tick that it won't charge your card, but if you do not then you would be debited. Should anyone have problems please PM. Or post your dates n I could do a trial booking for you. I no be agent o but it's funny how I book flights everyother week just to see if rates will increase or decrease .

Zeelady, I think the reason for your refusal was insufficient funds... What you need to do as some other poster said, get your budgeting right, make sure your bank statement , birth plan, and funding is robust enough to cover additional bills, emergencies, living costs , transportation and much more.
You would stand a better chance applying alone, as your husband would be your proof of ties back in Nigeria. I hope this helps.

You may or may not, they would redo those tests anyway, but just so they have an idea you may take copies of tests, scans and a doctor's report. But most importantly your earliest scans are required.

pls how did u estimate the amount of diapers and wipes u bought? And did u ship them or u carried with ur luggage? thanks

Try searching online, I got a number of estimated diapers needed from some web pages when I googled.

Sweetheart jeje call the airline, request extra help/ assistance and mention you have a toddler in hand and cajole them to give you, your mum and kid a ride to your supposed gate with those airport toyish looking cars. In many airports you are not allowed to carry a toddler on lap on a wheelchair but they can always call the airport officials with those vehicles to help commuters and their belongings

This is what my wife and I like (Baby crib) and its shipping weight is around 62 pounds which is roughly N50,000 to ship down here (minus cost of crib). I don't think it's worth the hassle. I think it's better to pay N70,000 for one in the stores here in Naija.

For about N45,000 one can also get these nice Graco playards with bassinets that babies can use as a crib until they are at least big enough for it to be used as a play yard for them. Others choose to introduce their little ones to cribs from the onset.

Please experienced mammas what are your preferences as na our first be this? Crib immediately or bassinets/sleepers.

I have the Graco 3 in 1 park n play, and it's just great, serves it's purpose. As a changing station, bed and eventually play pen. I think I recommend that at least till your baby outgrows it or you buy a bed for your kid

@tvegas, and Anyone willing to sow or sell a baby crib abeg holla! I need one desperately. I go pay. My baby loves to sleep on her own,seat on her own and watch everything going on in the world, she's outgrown her bassinet cos the babe tall. It so happens I though I would not need a crib, bought n shipped almost everything else, diapers, wipes, formular, clothes, toys, walker, potty, baby car et al....

Yes mate, shipped by sea o, got to Lagos after 20 days, from there got someone to send them to Abuja. Received stuffs in2 days via ABC express.

Hi my advice is go with whatever correspondence you have, a print out of the maternity package agreement, a breakdown of intended expenses related to child birth and a detailed breakdown of how you would want your actual delivery to be conducted. There are samples of such birth plans online.. All the best.
