Hmm interesting. It could be the VO is only privy to the copy of the agreement currently online. Take your copy of that agreement with you when you reapply. Try again... you should rightfully not be penalized if there’s no evidence you used public assistance. Thanks Twoods, i will try again and take all the documentation i have from the hospital, sometimes the VOs dont ask or read them,Anyways i just wanted to be better informed before going ahead. I would keep my fingers crossed while i pray for loads of luck. |
Saldway:Thanks Saldway, I guess they dont read letters sent to them, because i actually did send a letter and attached docs as proof.Their response was an automated response or template. i soon realized it was a waste of time. |
Thanks Sessibasi,i signed the old contract at MIHs then jare. And i was shocked when i was refused because i didnt understand why.Sure i did collect my itemized bill and the zero balance letter.Visa ish goes anyway sometimes regardless of the true circumstance of the applicant. I am glad you addressed the ogas blanket comments and general opinions. |
anunimorigba:Thanks for your response anunimorigba. i did not sign the residents contract and yes i have my zero balance letter issued since 2015,i gave same to the VO at the interview then. Also i have severally contacted the hospital to know the status of my hospital account. i have done much more than just called the hospital. i even called the states hospital services department sef to ask questions. |
TWoods post=66076889] Sorry, I opted to respond to you here rather than the US visit visa thread so as not to derail it. The problem is actually in the links you posted... in the first link, the Maricopa Integrated Healthcare System (MIHS) is clearly identified as a "public, safety-net hospital". Well what does this mean? A safety-net hospital is one that is required to receive Medicaid DSH payments because it serves a high share of low-income patients. See explanation in this link - http://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/fund-reports/2017/jun/financial-impact-ahca-on-safety-net-hospitals Now if you go to the MIHS maternity package plan agreement, it very clearly states this - "This plan is limited to Maricopa County residents, and does not have any income requirements." Maricopa county defines residency as "U.S. citizen, or in lawful status, lived in Maricopa County for 50 days, and lived in Arizona for at least one year". You definitely did not qualify to be a resident of the county and thus should have been ineligible for the lower cost package. As I have mentioned here, much to the chagrin of many, there is a reason "self-pay" costs are low. These hospitals are considered most accessible to low income residents. These hospitals get reimbursed by Medicaid. So even though you are not dependent on Medicaid directly, you are benefiting indirectly. The VOs know this, considering they also pay for the exact same services... at thousands of dollars more than you are being charged! I don't blame them for being skeptical. You're paying for child delivery services at a rate cheaper than it would cost to spend a night or two in a hospital fixing a broken bone for the average American.
i had mentioned to you earlier i never claimed residency or lived in Maricopa before i contacted the facility, I contacted the hospital from Nigeria and clearly asked if they accepted international patients,to which they responded in the affirmative and sent me the maternity package. We had no discussion on my income furthermore my appointment to see the facility was 2 days after my arrival in the US at the time and theres no way i would have been offered a plan for residents after i had just arrived and without a state ID. i also asked if medicaid was paying any part of the bills and they stated no.see the first page of package plan doc below however i say it you have your impression and would
As I already responded to this same post on another thread. Apparently, that maternity birthing package that you used was meant for women who can show proof of being full time Maricopa County residents and of which you were not. You were just an international resident who so happens to stay temporary in the county just for birthing purposes. Beautyaddy i have also responded to your assertions on that thread as well. You have it wrong. I was offered the package when i contacted the hospital from Nigeria, stating i wanted to know about their prices for birthing. i never posed as a resident of maricopa county. |
But are you sure your bill wasn’t low because the package is reimbursed by Medicaid? $2300 for a delivery is way too low. Someone somewhere is carrying the can for the difference. Twoods though it seems quite low; no one anywhere had to bear the difference, after my refusal i thought so, so i began to do further research to find out if there were portions covered by the government or anyone else and how i could pay any difference that there may have been, and the truth is there was no such thing. I inquired from the hospital severally, spoke to everyone i possible could, contacted the AZ debt center and all but have received the same response. i did not use aid,or donations of any kind. The hospital offered a bundled price for the maternity service at the time for whoever walked and was paying cash before delivery. see links below. https://www.darkdaily.com/public-hospital-in-phoenix-slashes-patient-self-pay-prices-by-50-to-increase-hospital-price-transparency-623 http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20140426/magazine/304269995 |
Have you posted this in the birthing thread? You l get more bites there. Pele. Thanks dear. I have. How your side lady G? |
Beautyaddy:i assure you your assumptions are false. The maternity package wasnt a discounted service for residents, as i wrote to the hospital and specifically stressed i was an international patient coming in from Nigeria calling in for inquiries. To have proof of my correspondence i sent emails stating my country of residence and my travel dates.and i do still have copies of those. so i didnt claim residence in any part of the USA. Thanks for your comments anyways |
Hi everyone im new to this thread. i just began reading but i thought to seek info and counsel from folks that may be able to help. i was refused a visa in 2016 while tryiing to renew. At the time the officer refused me because she thought the hospital bill i paid for labour and delivery was low. i had used the Maricopa maternity package which cost 2300 dollars. (i didnt use medicaid) . i hear that some other ladies that had similar issues have been issued. i really dont know who they are and what they did differently that helped turn around their previous refusals. Now that i intend to renew again please any tips/advice would be super appreciated. Thanks |
hello everyone, i hope we all have had a good and productive day. Please i need your help with info or references to where to get info on how to prepare for my Visa application. I was refused in 2016 march because the V O thought the amount i paid for Hospital bill was low because the government must have contributed (i used the old MIHS maternity package and paid 2300). i read somewhere here that similar issues had been attended to/spoken about in the part 5 thread, i have perused through that thread and still doing so but haven't found any useful tips/advice that may help my application. please help out with tips or advice that would improve my chances. PS (Veterans likeNefertiti, Ozycy, Firstymum and all who used to drop page numbers and links please get in here or PM me would be well appreciated.) Thanks |
hello everyone, Happy new year. i used to be active on the thread many parts ago... its great to be back here... it seems i will be re-dusting my boots so i would be snooping around and trying to read up on new info on Visas and hospital/ Doctors fees. special shout out to nefertiti, justwise and bublehot. @ everyone thinking about ticket purchases now or later in the light of the present Forex issues I would ordinarily say wait till last day of September till about the 10th of October to buy at an all time low rate. But make e no come turn another story if dollar come vex enter 380sumthing or higher that time. But in general summer tickets cost more than fall tickets... |
Hi guys from what I hear PTA today is selling at N320/ dollar. This is gangster o |
@Fearlesschick, I've flew Asky December last year and it was an apology. Boy they know how to get on your last nerve, Aero Contractors have nuffin on Asky. If you are preggy join abeg just look away from them. @ Feddy the bros Na agent no be say e dey hidden. I saw somewhere he wrote about helping out a number of families. Soon as I read that some bells went off in my head. But hey a brother go musto survive. |
Zionx, I'm sorry for your loss. May his soul rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please holla if you need any thing. May you find strength within you to forge ahead and create a great future for your baby. |
Just checking in to salute everyone, una well-done. All the best to those travelling the week ,those due and those with visa interviews.have a great week all. |
There's also Milkana kids yoghurt in addition to the others named above. From my experience with Lactel it's a no no for younger kids. My little girl loved it and I thought it OK at first but overtime I was treating tonsils and such Infections. I traced back and since I stayed off the Lactel brand all has been good. |
@rezzy, don't remember how old your Little one is but is his Nose stuffy? You could use a few drops of Silver bird Eucalyptus oil, put a drop in your his bathing water, and a drop on the sides of his bed or close to where he head is placed when asleep, it helps clear the nose. Another thing that may help is Palm kernel oil, some folks rub it on the babys body , others use a cotton bud to dab the PKO and place in the nostrils just at the edge. It dries out the catarrh. I hope this helps. |
@Hafyz, I suggest you see a paediatrician, if your baby isn't playing and agile as usual and gives off an indication of being in discomfort then you should go have him checked out. @ Ambient to boost milk production let your baby suckle more, feed on demand and on schedule, express milk and store for use later, get a breast pump to make it easier.E at healthy and regularly. Also Keep hydrated drink milk,or Ovaltine, tea, pap, milk , kunu Aya, watermelon.Above all relax more avoid stress there's no flow killer like stress. |
Has anyone been refused recently in Lag?just thought to ask too many ladies are getting refused in Abuja these days dunno what exactly the issues that are coming up are. in all the trend i see is most of these folks applied for renewal in Abuja: had their previous Visas issued before pregnancy kicked for some it took like a whole year before o.And were asked at the first interview if they intended to go for medicals and said no... Of course without knowing if or not pregnancy would come up much later (as in up to another 12 months)... Also most of these people stayed over a month after delivery in the US. I may be hopelessly wrong but my little knowledge and okpolo eyes tell me its a trend for sure!!! So folks be careful o if you've been issued before belle, take extra precaution, do your thing sharply and return home. Then add another icing by travelling again before that Visa expires. Just my thoughts . Have a nice day all. Lag peoples lets here from you PM me if you want. i need get my Visa back soon. |
Mrs Heavy g, take it easy , you are treading on familiar waters. Had a 3rd degree tear ... just keep the location as clean as possible, you may use a spray bottle every time you take a pee to rinse out urine or use baby wipes , if you can get witch hazel spray, liquid or wipes just place In fridge and use as directed on the label or else just keep your sitz bath routine as regular as possible. @Mzfunshy, sister Pele, a number of my friends experienced the hand issue you are faced with now, they had to wear arm support type stuff and bandage like support, while taking drugs recommended for them. I know one of them still experiences it so she takes boots VitD &K supplement.will get more info for you. No give your child biscuit o wait six months would be better but my own I no give em till 12months, I used to buy Gerber puffs, dried yogurts and fruits. |
Stanbic, first bank and fcmb cards seem to still be working for off shore transactions . But beware people the rates are still up there. Stanbic still look like they have the cheapest rates they charged below 300 bucks. While First bank was 350 on Thursday night. |
Momtozee, I believe you have the answer to your question, read all the food labels you can, compare notes if you want then settle on trying a particular brand ,flavor or cereal with your baby, if she goes for it then voila! At the time I started my baby on Gerber rice cereal first I introduced it by adding some to enfamil formular it was very well taken, I tried feeling same Gerber rice with a bowl and spoon and it was a no no. So it was with nutrend cerelac and no I ended up wasting my hard earned cash. I tried again at 12months and cerelac passed, so just follow ya little lady's lead. |
Teehey,im not exactly sure of this but I don't think you have to do that if you processed your kids documents before returning to Nigeria. I know of people who did the registration thing because they didn't do the American passport for the babies at birth, returned with Nigerian ppt Oran emergency travel doc. |
Feeling iomoge and Zaynie like joke like joke I'm even twice my preggo size right now. Wish I could just see myself losing fat.... in line with this anyone in abuja that knows a good personal fitness coach or trainer should hook me up. Have a lovely weekend everyone . |
Byolitabeauty abeg arrange dettol, handwash, handsanitizer and savlon for ya house. Good Hygiene is key, keep baby bath and all your baby gear clean, dry and nice, wash and dry clean with disnefectant as you go. Then tell mama that the nurses said you all should wash your hands and sanitise em before carting baby or handling her things.in addition continue sterilizing your feeding utensils. |
@Ahmazing, you are fine, though you in my opinion need to do a budget sheet, even though your hospital bill is 3000do a budget that shows you have kept aside or have planned to spend over 9000dollars on your hospital bills, separate amounts for paediatrician , transportation , feeding, miscellaneous et al cos that's the kinda bill and capability wey VOs like to see these days. And if your accounts have progressively been built, you have your tax receipts and business reg docs and family docs plus your game face with overflowing grace and confidence you go slay them collect ya white paper only there! All the best . |
