PoliticsRe: Would You Vote For Yaradua To Be Re-elected? by madamL(f): 8:39pm On Oct 10, 2009
Did he tell you people he is contesting again? He knows that after 2011 it will be time to go somewhere very far away and truly be sick and then find a way of recovering? When last did anyone look at his face? Upon all the make-up he still looks very ill. He cannot possibly go through another campagn.
PoliticsRe: Ghana's Plan To Chase Out Nigerians - Classifies Ecowas Citizens As Expertrates by madamL(f): 4:48pm On Oct 08, 2009
We all saw it coming and I suggest all these companies running there should pack and return fast before they try what Idi Amin did to Asians. They will wake up one day and seize businesses, they are not broad minded at all. I hope they remember how much Ghana cried when textile import from there was not allowed in Nigeria for a few months.

Can we cut them to size a bit before the insult becomes unbearable? If only we have ordinary NEPA light who will go there for business?

Bidemi, end of hostilities. Return soon though.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria: 158th Best Place To Live Or 25th Worst Place To Live (from Undp) by madamL(f): 3:22pm On Oct 08, 2009
Bidemi, Good for you that you are not part of the suffering here now, but I don't know that there is anything happening here that does not happen there. I was out long enough to realise that. Despite all we think is good there, nothing will make me settle down there. Take it that some of us enjoy suffering or are blindly optimistic or plain foolish but I will never believe out there is better. I have seen and experienced life out there not as a sufferwoman but as an honoured guest of the govt but I still didn't feel easy.

Relax, enjoy there. We will keep shouting here and you too should shout along with us. I have raged in the past but it did not work. I am not bitter about Nigeria, it will mend and that I am sure of.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria: 158th Best Place To Live Or 25th Worst Place To Live (from Undp) by madamL(f): 11:20am On Oct 08, 2009
Abidemi, you still dey Naija today? I been think say you go don run reach Malawi. Nigeria has problems quite alright but raging and unbriddled recounting of our woes won't help. A very silent revolution is taking place already even as freedom of speech gradually gains ground. Have you not noticed that our leaders read and react to SaharaReporters before bothering about the censored contents of our newspapers? Have you not noticed that our children are much more vocal and less tolerant of rubbish even from elders? The more people are allowed to speak out the better their chances of losing bonds.

It is not entirely hopeless now since we can at least shout as loud as we can. Believe it or not many leaders start their day going through NL to know what is up on them and gradually we will keep nibbling at them until they bow or run from our bad mouths.

I thought this is really "old people's facebook" like my kids said. Can we stop this bickering? You guy helped me make up the list of 100 without knowing when you did it. Thanks fine people of a great nation.

Redman, you are the guy. Oyibos live on credit all their lives. That is why they are crying non-stop over this global recession. I don't envy them. Naija is still worth defending.

I love Naija blindly, it's a fun place despite all the bad bad things going on. These rankings are often done by people who can't place Nigeria on a map of west africa.

I for complete the list but Starcomms fall my hand. My connection disappears by 9pm like cinderella's outfit. Who asked for the list sef? wetin you wan take am do? Abeg leave men of God alone. Those guys face a lot of fire from the kingdom of darkness. Not sermonising here; but many of them don't set out to derail, it just happens that they are at the frontlines of a deadly battle and often don't remember to put on all the whole amour of God and get hit in a bad way.

I hereby declare that I must show face anytime anyone decides to ridicule these men and women.

Twenty-one and counting friends. We must get 100 names. Think hard or I will have to do this alone. 100 names or we are all in trouble.

My kids call NL the "old people's facebook". I enjoy it though maybe old age is gradually creeping in. It is a good site though. Keeps me abreast of happenings and rumours.

Pls dear run a check on the man's family background. Believe me it also matters even when marrying a whiteman. Which country? What about his parents? What killed his grandfather. It is a big issue when marrying far. Good luck dear but carry out checks.

FamilyRe: My Husband Won't Accept Our Son's Disability by madamL(f): 2:29pm On Sep 11, 2009
My dear, it is a temporary thing and if you handle it well it will soon blow over. Kids like yours often have great artistic talents but bloom late in terms of formal academic work. Whe they start blooming they move very fast and cover lost ground. Try and protect him from the father and give good reports of him so the beatings will reduce.

Try getting another kid who will partially get your husband off your back and get your kid to watch and compete with another kid. Believe me, I might be writing from experience.

It is too risky not to pray before eating with all these new germs and viruses in town plus demons and co. It is also important to thank God, too many people are moving about hungry.
BusinessRe: List Of Lucrative Businesses One Can Start In Nigeria Today by madamL(f): 7:05pm On Aug 21, 2009
I find your predicament very interesting, so many young people leaving paid employment face this problem. I have been in biz for some years and seen a few things.

I advise that you must never get into any business you don't know much about. You must take out time to learn the ropes before you take a leap. I know someone who went into fish farming without adequate knowledge and lost so much that it is only recently he is able to keep the fish alife long enough to grow big and be sold. Learn as much as you can or you will squander all your money and be broke before you grow very wise and learn in poverty. All businesses I know have intricate aspects that look like they do not count until they trip you up.

I suffered untold losses due to ignorance in my early days in business. I almost quit if not that I was too broke to start a new thing. I only started raking in cash when I fully mastered what my biz. I am ok now but I do not wish my enemy what I went through due to inadequate knowledge.

Also know that you have to 'Show face' almost all the time if you do not intend to be working for your employers to reap. Forget the idea of setting up a system and staying somewhere else. It does not work here.

Whatever you do, target basic needs. Many people now can only afford basics like someone else told you earlier. Luxury goods are no longer in vogue.

Be street wise or forget it here.

PoliticsRe: My N2.8 Million Banking Stocks Now Worth Less Than Toilet Roll by madamL(f): 5:29pm On Aug 20, 2009
My dear friend,

I suggest you organise a testimony in church. You didn't lose much. My family sold a prime piece of land and dropped all the money there. I am talking of about #7million but as I write now, i doubt if we can boast of #200,000. I saw the storm gathering and went about prophesying but a friend labelled me prophetess of doom. I pity all our dear umu naija who sold their shops and threw everything there.

That market is not for you and me. We don't understand it and will never do until, I STOPPED CHECKING THE WORTH OF THE STOCKS LONG AGO AND i SUGGEST THAT TO YOU ALL. jUST SELL OF WHATEVER YOU STILL HAVE AND FIX THE MONEY IN FIRST BANK. YOU CAN BE SUER IT WILL NOT GET LOST THERE.
