Congratulations on getting in....All the best.

Which data exactly because on their IG page they put up 28 new #SterlingPeople.
More like 28th Cohort. Number slightly higher than 28 with a few people joining from an in-house process. SaOmaX , no be so?

RealTrump:
A girl has no problem.
A girl is a student.
A girl is not expected to be married.
A girl is not expected to have landed properties either.
A girl will not be asked a direct question for any home ties.
But a girl should know about her research...not with vague words o.
A girl should bounce to the embassy and kwalect her visa.

A girl has no face...but all is well with a girl.
This answer sounds lyrical but I take it to mean that the girl must prepare to marshal her points well. The girl has a face but she is not a Nairalander. I'm a concerned relation. It is well!

Pepperoni001:
Sincerely, only a VO can answer this your question.
Thanks. The problem is this emphasis on proving there are strong ties and marriage seems to count much. I searched though, and saw on another closed thread where an embassy official said most student's visa seekers are single.

Well done everyone and I appreciate the great work you're all doing.
I read a lot about VOs and the embassy asking about strong ties to Nigeria. What happens in a situation where a girl is single, in her late twenties and about to go for a Master's program. She has been given admission, a great assistantship, a very good monthly stipend and a full tuition waiver. Will her single status count much?

pls go to a good hospital, preferably a general or teaching hospital so they can find out if there are underlying causes of your insomnia. I did that and it worked well after they treated the root cause.

FamilyRe: If You're Happily Married, Please Share Your Story by madamL(f): 10:59pm On Jan 04, 2016
my marriage will be 25 years this march and we look forward to many more years of life together. the secret? first, there is no provision for divorce. partners for life, that's the slogan and bearing that in mind, we have to tough it out together to the very end. the most important thing is that i married a man who is patient and who rarely loses his temper. back in the days, i was temperamental and knew that so i picked a cool-headed fellow who ignored my tantrums in the early days; i have changed much though with time.
again, we used to be serious opposites, and it turned out that his weak points were my strong points so we took consolation in that when our desires and ways clashed. over time, we have ceased to be opposites, we have a middle ground in most things. then another secret is that we have a way of banding together to face any outsider which includes his relations and mine, we speak with one voice to all outsiders and settled the rest of the outstanding matters out of their sight. he encourages me a lot. he has twice chased me back to school for two masters degrees. he also agreed to take care of our very small kids then when i did a lot of junketing as a top journalist.
he is full of confidence and does not feel threatened by any height i want to attain, he is my loudest cheerleader.
i think the defining moment was when we had a big disagreement very early in the union and he called in my sister to judge the matter. i bluntly refused to talk and told him that it was entirely our biz; no one else has ever dared to act as judge in our matter since then.
i wonder the type of ndi oga some women marry that keep tormenting them and refusing to eat at every opportunity. if a man cannot be your good friend and lover, run away fast. we go do the anniversary party soon and i fit invite everybody, rice and stew very plenty.

BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 10:31am On Jan 06, 2014
Good people, happy new year. I know I have been missing in action for long but it is for a good reason.I took a momentous decision by way of relocating to the east to settle down, do business, reach peak academic attainment and have some quiet ear now that my kids are mostly grown. I leased my factory for three years and I am fine here and settling down nicely with oga. I promised myself that one day, before a certain age, I must leave the hustle and bustle of Lagos. I summoned courage to do that last year. Business is good here and one can do many things at the same time easily. I am also very happy about going back to school. I met one of my secondary school teachers recently and he chewed me raw for not having a Ph.D by now. I felt ashamed and quickly bought forms.

I am still available to help answer questions. I heard Lagos water producers are planning to do something about the price issue, who has an update on that? Kabarka what happened to your phone? Na waoh!!!

where's everyone? who and who finished setting up recently? rainy season now but that will soon be over.
BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 4:17pm On Jun 21, 2013
Longest time and why is the house so quiet? The rains are here now and people are resting and preparing for next season. Lagos is also working hard to make something good out of the industry. Early this month, we dissolved the exco and elections will soon come up. It is believed that the new people will work hard on the price matter. We are all getting set for the elections.

BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 10:31am On Feb 19, 2013
Hi everyone! How is it going outside Lagos? We are fine here and business is moving. Everyone is complaining about the low prices but the ones who planned their operations well are still doing good business.
There are a lot of ways one can lower cost on all sides such that her own cost per bag goes so low that money still comes in. Only those with bad plans are closing and that is happening daily now. The bad part is that the ones that helped crash the price are also the ones without any serious business plans. It is really only that class of people that don’t know enough to think turnover is everything.
One way these days of lowering cost is to operate close to home or time supplies very well. One producer in my area who sells close to his factory, uses less than five litres to supply 400 bags while some run all the way to the Island with 30 litres to supply two hundred bags. It means that the man selling close to home is spending N1.55 on diesel per bag while the other fellow is spending N23.25 for supplying one bag. Timing supply means leaving for the market at certain times of the day. I supply at night and it takes 10 litres to run from Ikotun to the Island at that time of the night. In the daytime you can use over 30 litres to do the same trip with all the traffic jam. In the night, you will never see VIO, LASTMA, FRSC etc. you only see very few policemen and robbers and the robbers are already aware that night trippers don’t carry raw cash so they usually ignore our vehicles.
At night, it takes about 50 minutes to get to the Island. The brake and clutch systems don’t suffer since you rarely use them. The ground is cool so few tyre problems. All these lower cost and for months we may not spend on road traffic officials. I save over N10 per bag from what those that did not plan well are spending. Whatever you do, plan well so you can see some money to take to the bank.

happy new year to you all. good luck to those coming in newly. my humble advice is that you must ask lots of questions before starting off. ignorance is a killer in business, avoid it by all means.

okine rolls are printed on before they are supplied. my humble advice is that you go to a pure water factory near you and do some training if you want to start producing. you have a whole lot to learn and believe me this business needs serious knowledge. i believe someone in your area will be willing to let you learn at his factory.

How is everyone? I heard many guys chickened out when they learnt prices were crashing in Lagos. Na waoooh. The story now is that we have all fought hard and found our levels. I still sell at a good price and I fought hard to keep my customers buying at my price. The stakes are higher now. Most of us upgraded everything so we could keep quality high and keep customers. The fearful ones lowered their prices and the strange thing is that it did not stop the ones that insisted on a good price from selling. They may have been slight reduction in turnover but the truth is that at my price, if I sell 2000 bags a day, I will make more money than the guy that sold at N50 a bag and sold 15,000 bags that day. In many cases the other guy must be losing money or barely realising the exact cost of production.

To you all faint hearts, return and put cash down and start. Just be sure you get it all right.
BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 2:45pm On Nov 23, 2012
Kabarka and ogbuebo thanks for the maths. In this biz, you decide what you want and if you have the courage to go after that then you will be smiling to the bank regularly. It appears as if the gain is much but it is your ability to run the biz that determines how much you keep. A ton of roll or 1000kg costs N410,000 and the gross income from the sales at N70 a bag is N1,400,000. There is N990,000 seemingly hanging out there and your job is to keep as much of that as you can possibly grab after buying fuel, repairing vans, settling road traffic officials, paying workers, fighting fraudulent workers, getting packing bags etc. The not-so-funny story is that a lot of people I know dont keep a dime out of this seeming huge amount realised as gross income.

This is the main essence of trying to lay a good foundation and getting it right from the beginning. Kabarka has said it that faulty vans can take all that money plus bad drivers and staff. An instance was the day my driver ran right into a very cool jeep. I learnt that what he destroyed was worth N750,000 if the owner had insisted on taking us all to one plaza at victoria island to replace the part. It looked a minor scratch but it was a new and very expensive jeep and the little impact had made the very sensitive sensors to start deploying the airbags. That is one instance of one mistake taking all the money. I supply at night now so we rarely get much to hit and only have to contend with area boys, police and robbers. I hire tough, battle-ready half-thugs who can return fire fro fire at night but then I also often get a taste of their rough ways.

As for how long it takes to sell off stuff, some companies can supply all the 20,000 bags in one day with the money paid upfront into their account. These are the companies that have like 15 production machines, 10 huge trucks and three giant gen sets. If you just buy one machine, refuse to buy a gen set and use wheel barrow to supply, then the 500kg will last months in your hands.
