Christianity EtcRe: Is It True? Churches Asking You To Surrender Your Entire January Salary? by madamL(f): 4:53pm On Jan 10, 2011
Is any church forcing anyone to bring firstfruit? Did anyone stop you from entering any church for not paying up? Is that the only thing your pastor threatened you with hell fire about? I see some people are bent on always criticising churches; good luck to you all
BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 3:05pm On Jan 05, 2011
Hi dear people, I relocated to the village to enjoy my Xmas but I am back now fully recharged. The miracle is that my factory was open and running very smoothly in my absence and I came back to some cool cash realised by my staff.

I call it a miracle because those guys get into all manners of trouble daily but it is like they knew they were on their own with me in far away Ebonyi state and so moved with care. They went on mainly night trips and returned with all my money, no stories.

It is like I have finally gotten a system that works well for this biz and I am thinking of something else to do with myself while the biz runs. I never knew I will arrive at this happy stage where I can go off on a holiday without locking up everywhere. Thanks to God, I was able to hire two God-fearing capable persons and placed them at strategic positions. I pay them extremely well but is freedom quantifiable?

Thanks Toyeen, I am happy for you and I pray you have more good stories to tell. I also pray that people ask questions before jumping into this biz.

Happy New Year everyone and Chief Kabarka, I salute.

HealthRe: Constant Spitting At Early Stage Of Pregnancy by madamL(f): 3:29pm On Nov 28, 2010
Apply brake fast ma!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coffee and lime? Pls, pls ask your doctor before you continue with the two. Like I said, the spitting stops for most people after three months, it is embarrassing while it lasts but well you have to thank God for big mercies; some women are prepared to spit for nine months if only they can get pregnant.

Soon you will stop having that metallic taste that fuels the urge to spit. Take care, it is one of those sacrifices.

If you live in Lagos, get to Ilupeju Town Planning area close to that Fountain of Life church (late Bimbo Odukoya's church) or near Sweet Sensation, Ask of Ordontoville. They can do just about anything to your teeth; but go with some tidy sum, their services are excellent but a bit expensive.
BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 3:05pm On Nov 28, 2010
Hi good people and thanks for all the nice things you have said about some of us on this thread. Yes, this is a delicate biz in some ways and if you don't know the intricacies you will fold up faster than you know. On the other hand, if you study it well before venturing, you will be smiling to the bank regularly.

I did it in ignorance for a few years and watched as the family's shares were all sold and thrown in without any returns. At the same time, I saw about two others doing the biz near me building mansions and riding exotic cars and I knew they were not into money rituals on the side. I then opened my eyes wide and asked questions and in a short while, I started correcting my mistakes and the results were and are still amazing.

Whoever wants to should venture without fear but ask questions. Like Kabarka said, you can even ask people that failed and learn how not to do the biz from them. Get someone near you to brief you thoroughly. You don't have to repeat mistakes.

As to your questions Kabarka, I have realised that if you refuse to pay a fixed salary lazy people will all leave. I don't pay any fixed except for the admin manager, security man and in-house mechanic.

As for calling from the road about VIO, FRSC, Police etc, I have marked and studied my routes and know who to call immediately. My people know that and so do not play tricks like before. Like you said, I often tell them to stand and wait for me wherever they are being held; if they are lying, I will get a call in the next two minutes announcing they have been released.

For areas with different prices, I usually pick a price of my choice and stick to it; naturally I pick close to the upper limit. It is a bad idea to sell at the lower end and be losing money to staff.

You all have a nice day and praying that more of you will summon courage to start off, this is a good way to quit paid employment.
HealthRe: Constant Spitting At Early Stage Of Pregnancy by madamL(f): 8:14pm On Nov 26, 2010
Give yourself 12 weeks and the urge to spit will disappear. You can curtail it by chewing bitter kola, garden eggs or gum. It has never killed anyone and you should be grateful to God it is not vomitting you are talking about.
FamilyRe: C-section Versus Natural Childbirth by madamL(f): 4:56pm On Nov 01, 2010
TeskyMan, thanks for that frank contribution. It is impatience that leads to many of the cuttings; in some instances they routinely give a cut without waiting to know if it is needed.

You are a good man, a brave one. My hubby swore he will die on all of us if he is forced to watch and somehow he managed to smuggle himself out through all three shows. He came in a few minutes after the first one when they were stitching the cut and swayed and looked very scared. I wish I had forced him to witness one of the births and get nurses to stand near and give him first aid while he looks on. DEEP REGRET HERE. He is a very nice fellow though and does not need to see anything to be loving.

As for the sister who is due this month, God's grace and do befriend the nurses and doctors ahead of time and see if they are willing to discuss options and prferences. Like we all know it is IMPATIENCE that leads to many cuts, see if they respect opinions on this issue. Just eat well and keep fit and nothing go do you!

Sundid keep your phone on as I have been trying to get in touch.

Thank God some people managed to cough out enough money to set up. I am very happy about that.

For you new ones I have one tip: do not let anyone convince you to pay a fixed salary to workers, everyone must be on commission. That is the only way to ensure a good turnover. This way, the more money they make for you, the moore they get for themselves. I tried fixed pay and it didn't work but with pay based on productivity, I often have to call a halt since we are all interested in working more and earning more. Find out the going rate in your area per bag produced or sold.
FamilyRe: C-section Versus Natural Childbirth by madamL(f): 11:52am On Nov 01, 2010
We're still at this abi? I have been reading and thank God for honesty on our parts. As for listening to the midwives, that is absolutely important but hard to handle. You're in another world as it is and the voices of the doctors and midwives seem to be coming from another planet. That tear heals within a week if you follow instructions. It was so for me but my friend gave in to wrong advice and had to be returned to hospital over that. I have forgotten what the instructions were but need to know once more as my first girl is now in her final year and very soon the first set of wine-bearing young men will start arriving, how time flies!!!!!

Ada, stop being scared; nature and the grace of God ensures all turns out well most of the time. Just keep healthy and have an open mind and it will turn out well. As for the men bothering over widened passages, just get madam to do some kegel exercise and yes why must you put a noose around someone's neck just because you want it tight for life?

Pls sisters help educate me on this: why is it that the tummy of women that gave birth by CS hangs loose and refuse to tighten up like can happen with little exercise after NB? It is that way for the ones I know, is it any different for others?

How early can one start exercising after CS? Breastfeeding nko? How soon can that start after CS?

Doctors and nurses help on this: is there serious risk in epidural? I once read a full page story of a woman who took this option and something went wrong and she is a vegetable; lying still, totally paralysed, feeding through tubes for over a decade and this happened in an advanced country. Not to scare sisters but this painless option could go very wrong.
FamilyRe: C-section Versus Natural Childbirth by madamL(f): 5:16pm On Oct 31, 2010
Forget ke? The pain is out of this world, that's why it is better 'forgotten'. Where I come from, they warn you not to scream the first time or you will scream all the way. I didn't scream but I was gradually losing it or why did I start some funny prayers? I called on all the persons in the Trinity separately and asked for help personally from each hoping one will answer if the others were busy. It was time for pushing just when I seriously started considering enlisting the help of Amadioha and I am not joking here.
FamilyRe: C-section Versus Natural Childbirth by madamL(f): 4:46pm On Oct 31, 2010
I have had three kids all by the 'natural' method and I have seen those who gave birth by C-section. Some of the things being written here qualify as 'rumours' and things we read in textbooks which are not always very true.

First, that cut given during birth to widen the passage, known as episiotomy heals very fast if you follow doctor's instructions and not old wives' tales on how to handle it. It does not cause any pain during intimacy after less than two weeks.

The passage may widen a little but narrows after some exercises. I hope no one thinks birth leaves a passage as wide as a baby's head; it is not usually a big deal and with a good active life it narrows such that you will still need to push vigourously during the next birth.

Talking about c-section due to narrow hips is a new thing caused by impatience on the part of medical personnel and women. I was told that the first time and ten minutes later my dear daughter arrived. I reasoned that at my age and state of health and all that it didn't make sense. I was really very slim then but what did they expect of a relatively young girl?

After a natural birth, one can relax and start enjoying and exercising and doing all those things that bring the body to normal, that is not always so after CS.

Things are really passed on from mother to child but in most case not very serious things; just some harmless thrush-like infections in the mouth from candida that clear a few days with mild antibiotics.

Natural birth is scary, true!!!. I once mistakenly brought up my head to look at the last delivery and I nearly passed out. I threw my head back down and got on with the biz of pushing. I don't know how childbirth happens that peacefully but I put it down to God and nature at work.

I never went through c-section but it often sounds nice skipping all that pain of labour and the 'pushing'. Too late though, I am through with that aspect of life but it is something I believe should not scare anyone. It is equally natural in my opinion and an option people must stop fearing.

Brother, your mum is a good woman. I would want a prospective MIL to my daughter to do exactly the same thing. A lot of things do go wrong and women feel worse if there has been a lot of intimacy prior to BREAK UP. Let that girl be until further notice.

BusinessRe: My Pure Water Busieness In About To Close Please Help by madamL(f): 4:00pm On Oct 14, 2010
Otanu, this is a bit confusing to me. I am in this biz too in Nigeria here. Do you have any trucks at all? Is it a mini truck that you need to travel a long distance from the village to the city? I thought you use big vans to carry a lot of bags if you have to move over a long distance; small trucks are used for selling close to the factory.

If you have trucks at all, can you get your sales team to leave very early like my men leave the factory latest 5am? The distribution side poses the most problem but not insurmountable ones.

BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 7:33pm On Oct 08, 2010
Hi friends, do you all realise that two or more people can partner and set up this biz? It really takes a lot of money to set up this business well and two people can pool resources to start. The business thrives on turnover and without a lot of sales, one won't get much out of it.

If you cannot muster enough resources alone, you can partner and buy enough machinery and vans to drive the much-needed turnover. Everyone that has ever done this biz will agree the whole thing is turnover-driven. If you make a net profit of N7 on a bag and you sell 50,000 bags a day, you'd like it but if your resources can only let you sell five hundred bags, then there won't be much chance of expansion and any little problem can totally halt the biz.

The truth is that many people make piles of money daily on this biz while many factories close weekly. Get adequate briefing before venturing and if you can, get enough funds or explore partnership.

Finally, the rains are almost over and hurray it is season once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Well it costs to set up a pure water factory. Even with land being available you will still need at least another four million to build, buy mandatory equipment, dig borehole and get one good van.

Hi, who has finished setting up among the new entrants? season is almost here. Which aspect is giving you the most problem? The NAFDAC bit? You can visit any nafdac office and ask for advice and direction. You can hire consultants but be careful so you don't get swindled by crooks posing as nafdac consultants.
BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 11:03am On Aug 30, 2010
mayjil, It depends on how easy it will be to adapt the storage space. There are minimum requirements and those include that the factory must have separate rooms to serve as cloak room, raw material room, finished goods room and production room. Do you have enough space to carve out all these needed rooms? Also the rooms are supposed to be in a sort of 'flow'. It will be good to get nafdac to give you advice on the property. They do offer advice if you ask.

BusinessRe: Pure Water Biz(Discuss) by madamL(f): 10:52am On Aug 28, 2010
Your factory can be on the same compound with your residence but it will have to be in a different building totally walled off from the residence. The borehole must not be anywhere near soak away pits serving the residence and all that. It is usually hard to handle but can be done if you still have a lot of land left to construct the factory building and fence it off. It must be detached from the residence. It is not acceptable for you to live upstairs and have your factory downstairs. Even when walled off, the pipes carrying water to the factory must be on their own and not have anything to do with the ones taking water to the residence.

In other words, your factory must stand apart from the residence if both are on the same plot of land. The hassles involved in a total separation often make folks not to bother keeping them at one place.
EducationRe: Would you send your child to a boarding school? by madamL(f): 4:57pm On Aug 25, 2010
chased all my kids to boarding house at the age of ten to start secondary school. they needed to toughen up and that is not very easy in my house. I spent all five years of secondary education in a boarding house. It was hell but I can face anything now. Nothing looks daunting to me. I cannot be bullied easily after surviving the seniors. I can eat anything and stay alive after the beans and weevil meals. The experience set an everlasting alarm that makes me wake up by 5am prompt. However, I sent them to private schools with good facilities. I wasnt sure they could survive the exact situation I faced in those days.

We seem to forget the good some of the seeming bad experiences did to mould us and are becoming too protective of our kids.

The downside is that I went off beans for twenty years after leaving secondary school. I only started eating the stuff recently.
