Thugnificent:
Which terms and condition that includes defamation of character? Oga nothing like that in all honesty.

It's not about show us evidence on their terms and conditions..... Why would i want to waste my time reading the normal long terms and conditions.

However, this isn't new in this country. Many people have created threads about loan sharks and how they operate. How they defame people's character if one fails to meet up. Even you know that he isn't the first and won't probably be the last.

If he said he isn't aware, then that's pure ignorance on his own part. Either way, he still have to blame him self. You can go and borrow from them and fail to pay up. When they defame your character, please come back to nairaland and also open a thread to complain and ask us where it was in their terms and conditions....smh.

Because we were there with you when you were clicking accept...

But why are we like this as a nation.... You took the loan, you knew the terms and conditions, you were aware that they would defame your name if you default.. yet you collected their loan and spent the money. The deadline they gave to you passed and you defaulted... Now you came to nairaland to complain, what are we suppose to do? You shouldn't have collected their loan if the terms and conditions are not okay for you.

They are a company too and they need to make profits. Unfortunately this is the way they operate to ensure people pay up (though i believe is very bad and a wrong strategy)....if not many people will collect their loan without repayment.

Simply put, you had you self to blame. Thier terms and conditions weren't a secret. You knew that's how they operate...why then are you complaining

Before you use this as an example to massage your laziness and lack of diligence in graduating with a 2.2 or even lower, consider these,

Dude has done internships, emphasis on the plural "s", in reputable company.
Secondly, he went to an ivy league school,
Thirdly, which is probably the most important, its not just about knowing your worth, dude has a strong bargaining chip, he has another offer from Microsoft to consider. Hence, even if oracle refuse to raise the salary, he can simply go to Microsoft... Its still a win win situation.

Lastly, even in America, the initial 120k per month is still a good pay.

Abeg, better go read your book and make good grades. Even if it doesn't help you in the job market, it will atleast boost your confidence say you no be dummy

Romance / Re: Guys, What's The Most Brutal Rejection You Have Ever Received From A Lady? by magnificient7: 2:45pm On May 11, 2021
Lemmy123:
I had a lady tell me we did not share the same faith, therefore we can't date...
It sort of made her look shallow to me.. I mean if the basis of accepting to date someone is that they share the religious practice as you, then I'm afraid, I might as well not be able to bring myself to roll with you even if you changed your mind and say yes...
I think humanity is first
Being a Nigerian is second
Tribe and religion may come later but really insignificant if you ask me

Matters about faith isn't a big issue for you?...smh

Are you sure you ain't the one who is shallow? Ofcourse faith is a big reason to accept or reject someone unless if your major concern is just the sex.

Anyway, each to his own. You are entitled to your opinion

Romance / Re: Should I Get Married To Her??? by magnificient7: 10:39am On Apr 24, 2021
Wouldn't have bothered to comment untill I saw the scripture you quoted. Making this post at the religion section would also have been good, so as to get more scriptural opinion.

Now to the topic, no matter the translation you use to read that part of the scripture, the meaning is the same...'whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery'

It is difficult to accept but that is what the scripture says. The fact that your conscience even brings it to your notice is enough not to proceed. Why? Because you will keep second guessing yourself if you are on the right path. Though according to the society, you are legally married but your spirit will always be telling you that you are only committing adultery.

If the promptings become too much, you may wake up one day and 'divorce' her. That would be the worse thing to do to her. Then everyone sees her as an 'unmarriageable" woman, who is just good for sex. You wouldn't want to put her in that position. Let her go and settle her own issues.

You should go find a relationship that you would have absolute peace, ...spiritually, emotionally and physically.

Why would I want to sound like oyibo? No matter how good my English is, and how much British I sound, I can never be English. They will always require you write IELTS, or toelf or any other English test because English is not our mother tongue.

We listened to actors in black panther and loved it. It's time for us to be proud of our accent.

".....a man that would criticise my dressing. He should understand that I am a celebrity and that the person he is married to is outspoken. The best decision is for anybody to get married to a spouse who loves one, one’s kid, one’s job, and is always praying for one to get to the next level. Some people could be very possessive."

Herein lies the problem. You want to dress any how you want because you are a celebrity? You want your man to praise you when you go half naked because you are an actress? He shouldn't correct you because you are outspoken?

In all the man will sure have his short comings, but also accept you have yours too.

You didn't state you CGPA in first year and second year. Neither did you say if the third year result is the cumulative of the year or just one session. Without those details, there is no how anyone can say if you can make 2.2 or not.
Romance / Re: Ladies, Please Help Me by magnificient7: 10:33pm On Sep 07, 2020
Do you really need nairaland to validate yourself esteem?

So if the ladies say no they don't fancy dating such a man, then your depression increases.

If they say yes, they don't mind, then you start to feel abit okay until the next girl on the street insults your bald head.

You need no one here to validate your self esteem bro. Focus and succeed in whatever you are doing. Be useful in whatever area you are, and what people look beyond your "insecurity" to celebrate you.

If you don't know what to do, please start the much needed protest in Nigeria

Education / Re: Can I Still Graduate With A First Class With This My 100level Cgpa? by magnificient7: 11:40am On Jul 12, 2020
I would have said the fact that you are asking the question makes it abit doubtful if you can.... Reason being that it's a simple mathematics you could do to check if that's still possible or not.... If you can calculate you GPA, you should be able to know what the odds are for you.

But having seeing the pics you posted, I think you have still got it in you. So to help bring clarity to what you need to know. To graduate with first class, which is 4.5, you need to an average of 4.73 each year. That's a high GPA and requires a high amount of study and dedication but is it possible... absolutely yes, it is very very possible.

The question now is, can you be able to put the high amount of work and dedication to obtain such GPA every year? Only you can answer yourself...Nairalanders can't.

And if you decide to go on to push it, first thing is to ignore, rebuke, and run from the "grade doesn't matter gang" on NL and in your school.

Travel / Re: I Make 10M A Year: Relocate Abroad Or Stay In Nigeria. by magnificient7: 3:13am On Jan 11, 2020
I know the write up maybe fake or not, but for others who may read this month's or years to come...

Without long story, I say it is not worth it.

Some reasons people give for travelling abroad may seem valid until they start leaving abroad. Only then will they start questioning if it was worth it, but then it's too late to move back. Anyone who is very comfortable in Nigeria, has no business relocating abroad unless it's just for vacation. Why dangote and otedollar never relocate finish

Most times people underestimate the power of living and growing up among your own people, among your own society, which you fully understand and know you are part of it. Among a people whom won't consider you a societal mis-fit if you don't agree to their alien lifestyle. You either lose yourself in an attempt to blend in or walk the lonely path of being yourself.

The quest for good roads, 24 hrs light etc make most not to consider the fact that they are about to start life completely afresh both in building a career and in learning about the society.

You talk about your kids, you fail to consider the physcologically effect on your child when he is the only black guy in his class, and sometimes in his entire school. A society where your child comes home to ask, "dad are you ok?" When u mention God because their teach told them God doesn't exist and only mad people believe in God. Where they are mentored and engineered to question their own gender and sex.

Time may fail me to actually go into details, but if you are comfortable in naija, forget about relocating. By all means go for vacation abroad, but for totally uprooting your life to another society....it's unnecessary. Look at the broad perspective of the type of society you are about to train your child in.

You have alot of money already, many people even in Europe and America don't get to save that much money. Go for vacation in these countries first, then come back and ask yourself, do you really want to relocate your life to those places.

They say, "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is a king. Why would a one eyed man leave the land of the blind where he is seen as a king to live among two-eyed men where he is seen as a misfit and outcast?

Ps. If you are relocating due to hard economic reasons, my advice may be different

Good evening house...i have a quick question...
if a school writes a mail to the embassy requesting them to prioritize my visa application and give me a date, do you think that can influence them and make them give me a date faster.

It's a great idea, but on what basis would your school write to the embassy to give you priority? If the school is giving you a scholarship, that would surely suffice.... Otherwise, I do not think they will do that.
Education / Re: Babcock University Reacts To Sex Video Of Expelled Students That Leaked Online by magnificient7: 8:24pm On Nov 20, 2019
It is unbelievable to see post of people bashing the school for expelling the girl. It speaks of the height and depth of moral decadence in the society.

Every institute, every organisation, every company stand for something. They have values, principles and culture which represent or advocates.

Yes,the girl is an adult. She is free to do whatsoever she want to do. But Babcock simply don't want to be identified with such act. Whether you like it or not, sex tape is highly frown upon especially in a society such as naija.

"We are free to make our decisions, but the consequences are beyond us".

Most people here won't want to marry the girl, but you want castigate BU
Most peeps won't even want their sibling to do anything with her, yet u dey yan nonsense
If u get company,u won't want to employ her...
Even as house help, u won't, make she no spoil Ur pikin, but u dey here dey talk with both side of the mouth.

Education / Re: Do You Regret Your 2:2 by magnificient7: 1:08pm On Sep 26, 2019
It's so unfortunate we compare our selves with ourselves and on the basis of that, decide if we are failing or succeeding.

Op, u have identified your own problem, u said u could have done better, that's a great lesson you need to learn. If you try your very best subsequently, you would achieve excellence.

Truth be told, their is no glory graduating with 2.2. forget about all the people saying they are doing good with 2.2. it's either they learnt their lesson and buckled up, or they are swimming in mediocrity not knowing where they would have been if they have added a little more deligience.

Only few things are as painful as seeing a job ad you can do, but your grade disqualifies you.

Don't get me wrong,I believe in grace in its entirety, but let that grace produce excellence and not otherwise

Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by magnificient7: 9:30pm On Mar 20, 2018
Firstly, I salute everyone who though crossed to DE, still find time to come in here and offer their much needed advice.

In a way to give back to this great thread, let me just add one or two things, as many are throwing in their applications now.

> You are always free to apply to any course you want but when admission acceptance starts dropping in, please, don't let the city be your only deciding factor in your considerations. carefully consider the course in question. I strong advice you stick with a course that is highly related to your bsc (especially if u are going for msc) rather than the ones that carry big names.

many are yet to understand how the Germany grading system works. just to give you an idea, scoring 50-60% in exam corresponds to 4 point, which is synonymous a weak pass. imagine it as getting an E in maybe 4 unit course in naija. scoring 61-70% corresponds to 3.7point etc. Google can help you with the rest. To make a 1point, you need to score 95-100% in the exam.
Anything below 50% is 5 point which is FAIL

To put an icing on the cake, if you fail a core course 3 times, you are delisted from doing that course in the entire country. yea, you heard me right. so for example, you are doing MSC biology, and you fail bio 101 3 times, you are automatically withdrawn from doing msc biology again. you have to apply to another course.

so as much as possible, choose a course that is very well related to your bsc when making that important decision. it will help you make that transition to their high quality of education. don't let the city alone and that desire to hustle be your only deciding factor.

I know many will think, let's enter first, we go rough am. But when you come, you will know that depression is real.

secondly, whatever you are buying, buy quality ones, whether its clipper or utensils, unless you have enough euro to spend, then don't bother. I came with aluminum utensils, and unfortunately, studentenwerk changed the cookers to induction cookers rendering my utensils useless. Had to buy a new set of quality stainless utensils. you don't want to know how much they sell it here.

Finally, abeg read previous threads on this. it will help you understand the experiences of others and help prepare your mind on what is to come.

PS. if you have a very comfortable job in naija, Abeg, stick to it and work on improving yourself. Don't be deceived by all the jambites screaming they want to runout of the sh*thole. the grass is not always greener at the other side.

To everyone making who will soon join the journey, I say, come to Deutschland and succeed. tchuss

purples25:
It's not every girl that dresses fine that is wayward sha. Because Nigerians tend to generalize. If they teach her what should be priorities and morals she may even go farther than the ones wearing Cinderella gowns. How many times have we ended up dismayed that the girl wearing Mary amaka is actually the lazy and slutty one, and that fashionable one is actually not bad and the intelligent one ? Our thinking gets our girls in ugly dresses thinking they have better chances and it ends up otherwise. Because appearances are deceitful and the world owes us nothing.

Well I wouldn't want my kid growing up looking so plain wearing forced gowns while feeling most awkward and then not being able to socialize cuz all the other kids be wearing jeans and stuff and isolate her out, making her grow up socially awkward, like I did. Do you know it doesn't even guarantee anything ? Come adulthood, bomb short wearing children may be graduating while the goody goody daughters may become local sluts that ain't graduate. God forbid sha , but it happens. Don't put too much faith in the dress.

tales by moonlight.
is this write up meant to support the pics.
sexualizing a little girl at the age of 2, taking pics of her in a bathtub wearing only towels.... and the next moment people will shout paedophile.

what is bad is bad, and giving this innocent girl to level of exposure when she barely know anything is damn wrong
