INEC should also hurry and release the results let us know whivch way the pendulum swings. The loser should accept it in good faith as a necessary price paid for the well being of Rivers and the people. No shaking! Nothing dey happen. Wike can fail this election and Awara can win this election. Let nobody decieve anybody Who is paying you. muykem: Result so far declared is unbelievable, out of 10 LGAs, the AAC candidate is leading in 9 and Wike just One. INEC will have no option than to declare AAC candidate governor elect. New election can't be held in Rivers state now as it will be worst than the former. It is funny the way none residents are the ones shouting that AAC won. If AAC won at first then they will win a rerun, why are you scared. If all was well, INEC would have no reason to suspend all proceedings. |

Politics › Re: Atiku Lauds Nigerians, Says Collated Results Show He’s Leading by MahatmaGhandi: 7:37am On Feb 25, 2019 |
Omooba77: Abuja – Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has thanked Nigerians for turning out to vote for him in their millions while stating that the results collated so far showed he was on his way to victory.
Atiku, who stated this on Sunday morning in a statement by his campaign spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, added that the initial indications from the PDPs simultaneous vote count (SVC) showed that the victory of the PDP was assured.
Atiku said: “With strong shares of vote in SS, SE as well as an increased share in SW and NC we are very pleased with the progress the PDP has made. We look forward to sharing some exciting news in other parts of the country very soon, which will confound all the armchair pundits.
“I would like to sincerely thank the millions of people who, despite having to bear the additional burden of a postponed election, came out yesterday to vote for me and the other PDP candidates standing in this election.”
Atiku explained that his conclusion concerning the outcome of the presidential poll was based on the PDP’s high tech, cloud-based SVC system, which is able to collate in real-time the results from the 176,000 voting points across the nation.
“The people of Nigeria can take solace that very soon the living nightmare of the last four years will come to an end so that together we will get Nigeria working again,” he said.
The PDP presidential candidate tasked Nigerians on the need to maximise their eternal vigilance in the next 48 hours to prevent the majority votes recorded at the polling units being disrupted by APC forces at the collation centres.
“I am familiar with how brazen and the complete lack of shame the APC can exhibit, but even I was shocked to witness just how low they went last night by accusing the PDP of ‘recruiting armed thugs’ to do just that. Why would we want to do that when we are winning?
“Furthermore, I would like to say how proud I was of PDP supporters who conducted themselves so peacefully despite the significant provocations and threats of violence, removal and burning of ballot boxes and the likes.”
The former vice president also thanked security forces and election officials who conducted their duties with exemplary professionalism, but tasked President Muhammadu Buhari on his promise of a free and fair election.
He said, “General Buhari you have promised our people and the world that you would conduct ‘free, fair and credible elections’ so please call off the wilder elements within your party and deliver on your promise.”
Meanwhile, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has raised the alarm over an alleged plot to declare inconclusive the presidential results in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
This came from spokesman of CUPP, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, in a statement on Sunday.

QuotaSystem: Of course not. That's comparing rocks with tomatoes.
To start with, the President enjoys immunity by virtue of his office, which the other two don't enjoy. Same way the CJN enjoys protection until the NJC finds him culpable. The only body that can discipline the CJN is the NJC. And on a democratic setting one arm of Government cannot unseat or discipline another without the concurrence of the third. It must always be two against one. Now the CCT matter is already at the appeal court who have stated that all hearing at the CCT be suspended until it's hearing on the January 28. Any thing outside of this is illegal. |

DivineIsGreat: Ok you've said yours.....do you know that in some family, they don't care if it's your money or not as long as the property is in their son's or brother's name ? Yes, I'm married, my husband buys properties, we buy properties with our joint account, I buy property with my own money and you don't want me to buy it in my name that has my husband's surname attached Let's assume the husband dies tomorrow, some extended family will now come & claim everything, leaving wife & kids with nothing just because I bought a property with my money but foolishly in my husband's name huh Pls, leave Christianity out of it...even the Bible say a virtues woman sees a vineyard(investments) & buys it. NB: my writings are based on a marriage consumated in God between two belivers. If one partner is an unbeliever then the case might be different since both principles would be different. I spoke in the assumption that a Christian man (not one by lip service) should have been taught to structure his home in such a way that the wife is completely secure. In your case, your husbands family has made you insecure which is very understandable. I would have favoured a situation where your husband does all that is reasonably possible to assure you that your intrests are fully protected, which i assume that you guys have done . There is nothing wrong in the property being in either of your name as long as this is what the both of you have agreed. The challenge usually arises when you have marked some things as yours and not for your husbands and he marks others as his and not yours, this is the challenge and usually leads to divorce because these properties become so important to the extent that one partner is willing to leave the union because of the property. This is why partners harbour devilish plots against their spouses and i would rather get such stumbling blocks out of the way than live like it doesn't exist and then ruin my home at the end. I do not expect every one to operate by biblical principles and standards just as I do not expect anyone to drag me from living by the lay down biblical principles. |

flyca: Do you know why my parents still live in a rented apartment after 38 years if marriage?
My “submissive” mum always sort consent, which she was never given! And her bible told her to “submit”, so all her years of marriage, she submitted to the man's will. My dad? Never saw the need to buy a land, build a house, good to good schhols etc because his bible told him to be “content”.
38 years after, REGRETS everywhere. Lol
Consent my foot! I may notify you (depending on how you sail our ship) but I cannot allow you to drag me backwards. Impossible!
Annwrites, you are very intelligent Cc: MahatmaGhandi, keepingmum I quite understand your position and truth is you are free to take any position, I only took the position as instructed by scriptures. If you think the bible is wrong then you are free to make your rules. I have a friend whose mother saved until the money to buy a land became complete. When she informed her husband, he was filled with joy and appreciated her, guess what, the man supported her to buy the land they built their first house on the land that the woman bought help the family to acquire and has gone on to build many others. The house belongs to the man, his wife and their kids. This is how God's family should work. Some times our partners can be stuborn and difficult. At times like this we have to seek the wisdom of the holy spirit. If the woman approached her husband that tshe wanted to buy a land in her name and her surname, what do you think would be the attitude of the husband towards it. We must note that there is a difference between going to church and being a believer. In the family that God established there is no such thing as equality, no way! The man is made as the LOVING head of the family just like a company chairman ( not an oppressive bully) and the woman a submisives supervisor/helper (not a rebel) that is like a managing director of a company. But greed, selfishness, disloyalty, rebellion and short term inconsequential materialistic tendencies from both parties have ruined the family structure that is why we have the issues that we have in today's home. Men no longer love their wives and wives no longer submit to husbands. I must correct an impression, a man is not head over all women, no!! He is hard over his family. So if as a woman you meet a man he should and must treat you as his equal. However, if for the sake of raising a family you decide to be joined with him, then you must come under his umbrella for the sake of order and structure in the home. If as a Christian you find this hard to do please don't marry, keep yourself and continue to serve God in your chastity and If as a man you cannot love your wife and put her well being above yours then please stay single. Christian marriage is a sacrifice on both sides. The woman gives up her authority over her own life and the man gives up his individualty and embraces his wife as part of himself. So tell me how can a man that sees his wife as himself raise his hand against her instead of raising it in her defence, how can a woman that sees her husband as her new covering uncover the unclothedness and shortcoming of her husband before the world. This is for Christians alone, if you are not a believer please ignore and do not engage me because we do not operate the same principles. |

5thElement: So he ran away. If he becomes president and there are oppositions like MEND and BOKO HARAM fomenting trouble everywhere, I'm sure he will also run away.
People an only ridicule you if you have something to hide.
He was scared of being asked to give account of 8 years at the presidency with Obasanjo.
He was scared to confront the truth about his ongoing corruption cases in the US (going to the US under Saraki's diplomatic immunity as his aide didn't fool well thinking Nigerians).
He was scared of answering questions about what he intended to do with the economy since his only plan is to "help his friends" as he himself has said.
He was hoping that he would gain traction by attacking Buhari who has dementia and should actually have resigned.
He thought it would be a walk-over for him to debate with a man who had dementia, because it will be just like debating with a five year-old kid.
So when Buhari didn't show, he ran away because the other candidates don't have dementia.
shame on all of those supporting Buhari and Atiku.
May the hunger and starvation loading for the next 4 years if any of the two are voted in be abundant in their families. No Boss, He just didn't want to take unnecessary flaks that would give the incumbent undue advantage, In a debate everyone takes flaks. Buhari chickened out so as to leave Atiku to generate the press that his spin masters would use until the elections but Atiku saw through it and as a matter of strategy left the venue. Atiku is capable of organising town hall meetings if it was just to sell himself to Nigerians. BON should have insisted on the incumbent being there, trust me Atiku would have stayed not minding the gang up. We should give the man some credit since he, inspite of the jet lag made himself available for scrutiny and has promised to make himself available again when ever Buhari is ready to do same. |
Politics › Re: Atiku’s Withdrawal From The Debate Is A Tactical Masterstroke! - Farooq Kperogi by MahatmaGhandi: 7:42am On Jan 20, 2019*. Modified: 8:19am On Jan 20, 2019 |
Ratello: Atiku’s Withdrawal from the Debate is a Tactical Masterstroke
By Farooq Kperogi
I’ve read commentaries that aver that Atiku’s decision to bail out of Saturday’s presidential debate in protest against Buhari’s decision not to participate in it was a tactical error. I disagree. Here is why. The presidential debate is designed to be a match--or, if you like, a push and pull-- between the defending champion, i.e., Buhari, and contenders to the title he holds, i.e., Atiku, Moghalu, Madam Oby, Sowore, and others. If the defending champion declines to thrown his hat into the ring, the entire match becomes pointlessly self-injurious to the challengers. In other words, it would have been a fatal strategic and tactical error for Atiku to partake in a potentially bruising contest with other challengers while the defending championing sits pretty somewhere unhurt. I’ve read other people suggest that Atiku, being Buhari’s closest challenger, should have used the opportunity of the debate to sell himself to Nigerians. Well, that’s what #NgTheCandidates town hall chat is there for. You don’t sell your agenda by making yourself vulnerable to potentially deathly blows from other challengers who don’t hold the title you are fighting for. Instead of pillorying Atiku for not taking part in the debate, we should question the other candidates for agreeing to participate in a meaningless dueling match with each other when the defending champion who holds the crown they want to grab chose to run away. Their performance in the debate would only be meaningful if it’s measured against the performance of the defending champion. From a tactical point of view, I also don’t blame Buhari for refusing to show up for the debate. His mental and physical infirmities are now on full display and would be exposed even more in the unscripted, back-and-forth format of a debate. The cabal that minds him already deeply regrets allowing him to take part in Thursday's town-hall chat because his cringe-worthy performance at the event dramatized his dementia and aggrandized his unfitness for the job of president. His campaign trail mishaps aren't helping, either. Another bruise from a debate would seal his fate before Election Day. In a tragic irony, Buhari and Atiku are less qualified for the presidency than all the other contenders are, yet it is either of them that will emerge president in February. That’s why both candidates are more guarded and strategic in their choices than the rest. Don't mind people that talk any how jor |

5thElement: this is how you will know that the youths of Nigeria are hopeless.
the two candidates they've been fighting themselves online for have refused to accord those youths the dignity of at least appearing before them to tell them that they matter, that their lives matter and this is what they, as presidents intend to do for them.
you know why?
because they know these same youths are blockheads. they know these same youths will defend them into hell no matter what.
just check the comments here and you'll realize that stupidity is in some people's genes. they were born with it and they will perish with it. You have said it as it suites you and Atiku saved himself from being ridiculed and attacked by all three candidate. Moghalu, fela and oby are friends of the president. They are being used to split opposition votes, non of them can win elections at this time and they know it. Atiku would not have cared about the gang up as long as Buhari was present to openly show Nigerians who he is. |
Family › Re: Is There Anything Wrong With A Wife Buying A Property In Her Name? by MahatmaGhandi: 7:09am On Jan 20, 2019 |
Omudia11: So what portion of the Bible prohibits women from owning properties? Y'all ate too fragile nowadays, blaming everything on feminism. In my tribe and culture, women have always been allowed to own properties. Whenever land is being shared, it must be shared with respect to age, not gender, and female child that is older than a male gets to have a bigger portion than a male and she is free to build anytime. Infact in my culture, it is a taboo for a woman to be buried in her husband's place. She must be buried in her own town, that's why lots of women buy land and build. I spoke as a believer not as a traditionalist, you cannot be both as they are mutually exclusive. The bible does not say a woman cannot own property. The question was directed at married women and I discussed it from the perspective of a married Christian woman and also asked what motivated the need to own properties outside her husband. I don't expect you to respond to my position if you do not believe in Christ. As for the feminists that you mentioned IMO they have ruined this world and would usher in the apocalyptic world. However, true believers will not be here when that world comes and women can own all the properties they want and do with their body as they please without opposition. |
