Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Recruitment Into Nigerian Prisons Service 2018 by mahyowah(m): 9:01am On May 15, 2018
fabem:
Good Morning guys,

Many applicants contacted me on one issue or the there that is why I am putting this up:

The applications is now going either on Chrome, Mozilla, Puffin, Ucweb and the rest, it depends on which on work well on your phone and also with your network but not going on PC for now.

Many still have issues with saving as PDF and download for printing. Truth is all the browsers listed above have their steps to do so and I have tried all but is only chrome that you do successfully with no issues and also all your info complete after you save/print.

Firstly, for those that have tried it before and didn't get it, please off and on your phone because if your Google service is not working well, it will be hard for you to see print in their options below.

Logout on any browser you used, since you just want to save in pdf, download and print, just login on chrome and it will automatically takes to finish page.

Assuming you want to save the reference form, due to the fact you are using phone, you will firstly convert it to desktop format in other to show clearly for printing.

To do that, follow this stepsons after the other

1. At the top right hand side of chrome, click on the (four dots), pop up menu will show, then stroll down and click on "request desktop site". Automatically, web page will zoom bigger.

2. Then how do you save it? Go back to that same option step as just started above, then you will see *share* option, click on it, it will bring another option, *print*. Click on print, then you will see Cloud save, click on it and you will save as PDF, rename it.

3. If possible, then save it, once you save it, it will download those form to your phone directly, so you can check without internet and also print it from PC.

Note: As I said earlier, if you don't find print under share option, please off and on your, it fails on my phone too sometimes, once I off and on back, I will see it there. If you try it on Mozilla, it will just save one page not the full page.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation.

Business / Re: China Pledges More Investments In Nigeria, Others by mahyowah(m): 9:31am On Oct 18, 2017
China has just promised more exploitation. Don't be deceived. China borrows Nigeria for infrastructural development, this same funds are given to Chinese contractors who give us substandard products and services. China is colonizing Nigeria economically.
Education / Irresponsibility Of University Portal Support by mahyowah(m): 1:28pm On Sep 22, 2017
I'm writing with great despair and annoyance. This is because Nigeria as a country ought to be more advanced than the state we are in. And we are where we are because we fail to do the right thing. .
I happen to work in a cyber cafe where I carry out online registration and this season has been for Postume Applications.
In the process of carrying out registration for a young lady's postume application, Server errors occurred and believe me for more than 2 weeks the ICT support of both EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY (EKSU) AND FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF EKITI(Fuoye) have not picked their calls nor responded to emails sent to them.
What are the issues?
For the Eksu application, the filling of the candidate o'level section hasn't been successfully imputed because the columns to do so are numb. The candidate has made payment of 5,500 yet services have not been rendered. If she doesn't successfully input her O'level results, she won't be considered for admission. The support numbers on the website have failed. They either fail to pick up or hang up their calls.
Secondly, Fuoye the Federal University of Oye Ekiti Application, the candidate has made payment of 5.105 for the Putme application via remita and after successful payment, she ought to be given access to continue her registration but the portal keeps saying unpaid. We have sent mails to the school ICT support center but no response, we have called but the numbers weren't going through, Now the question is what is the use of adding support numbers to the website when they know they don't wanna receive calls? A mail was sent to Remita the payment platform and we got quick responses informing and confirming successful payment made for the application. It is two weeks now and the candidate hasn't successfully registered any of the two applications she used her hard earned money to purchase. The closing date of EKSU is hours away and FUOYE few days from now.
Please I need this message to be passed to the public for this lady's matter to be heard. Her eefforts to further her education cannot be wasted just because some people have failed to dispatch their duties.

Please help to pass this message
Any positive info please email her debbyoneaglewings@gmail.com

Career / Re: 6 Ways To Eliminate Computer Eyestrain At Work by mahyowah(m): 1:50pm On May 03, 2017
assisttohire:
6 WAYS TO ELIMINATE COMPUTER EYESTRAIN AT WORK

These days, many people have jobs that require them to stare at computer screens for hours on end. This can put a strain on the eyes thereby resulting in reduced work performance and productivity. Fortunately, it is easy to treat, all it takes is a few simple changes to your workspace.

Cut the glare: Change the lighting around you to reduce the effect on your computer screen. If light from a nearby window casts a glare, move your monitor and close the shades. Ask your employer to install a dimmer switch for the overhead fixtures if they're too bright, or buy a desk lamp with a moveable shade that casts light evenly over your desk. You can also add a glare filter to your monitor.

Rearrange your desk: The best position for your monitor is slightly below eye level, about 20 to 28 inches away from your face. You shouldn't have to stretch your neck or strain your eyes to see what's on the screen. Place any printed material you're working from on a stand beside your monitor. That way, you won't have to look up at the screen and back down at the desk while you type.

Give your eyes a break: Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Look away from the screen every 20 minutes or so and look at something around 20 feet away for about 20 seconds. Blink often to keep your eyes moist. If they feel dry, try some eye drops.

Tweak your settings: You don't have to live with the factory-installed settings if you're uncomfortable with it. Adjust the brightness, contrast, and font size until you find what’s best for you.

Try computer glasses: Unlike everyday eyewear, computer glasses are designed specifically for looking at computer screens.

Visit your Optometrist regularly for exams: Let him know about any problems you have. You may need glasses or contact lenses. Your optometrist decides if you can wear your regular glasses for computer work or if you need a special pair. He might prescribe a single or bifocal lens or tinted lens material to boost contrast and filter out glare.

Culled from www.webmd.com

install Iris software application. it helps against eye strain.

Business / Re: Food Exportation: My Experience With NAFDAC by mahyowah(m): 9:29am On Feb 28, 2017
xynerise:
Now I know that one of the problem of exportation in Nigeria is caused by people or agency that are supposed to be supporting entrepreneurs.

My sister and I visited NAFDAC office to make enquiry on cost of exporting foodstuff like Egusi, Ogbono and other native foodstuff.

She has already package these foodstuff in a sack but was told to make enquiry at NAFDAC first.

We got there and we waited for about 30 minutes before they called us. She began to narrate her plans and asked how much it will cost to be given license.

The lady said the license will cost her N50 million for a start, imagine a business that the capital is not even up to N10 Million. These made my sister to rain abuses on the lady because she was so shocked on such exorbitant amount for a start.

Another man came out which I believe is in higher position than the lady we first met and invited us to his office. After we narrated what led to the drama, he smiled and said "She didn't even give you the right price, you will be charged N100 million for it". Just imagine.

This is how entrepreneurs are discouraged to do business abroad and they expect Nigeria to move forward.

I want to know if what these NAFDAC staff charged us is reality or just obvious exploitation?

Report to EFCC bro, isn't it glaring that this is a case of fraud.

Another thread looking to condemn private christian universities.

1. Quality education is not cheap anywhere in the world. Check Harvard, Princeton and similar universities.
2. I believe that the church would have a scholarship scheme for bright students who are members and non-members of the church.
3. Remember, this is a second private university in Lagos.

We can only give them say a ten period before we judge.
Well you're not wrong but what's the church's role in the welfare and charity of its members Didn't you read in the Bible where the church provided provision for its people? were missionary schools paid for?

Got my first laptop few weeks back, when i get to the office, it's always on power from 8am-4pm when going home.

Ive been told several times to stop doing this, that it's going to damage the battery.

So i visited Quora, Howstuffsworks and i realized that there's nothing like overcharging of a laptop, most esp the new models.

On these sites, most people said once the charging hits 100%, there's an app that will immediately stop the battery from taking more power, like disengaging the battery from charging.

So i just decided to bring this here for more contributions, thanks.

thanks for this piece.

She woke up this morning only to find out the poster was out and her face was selected. She has been so surprised as she wasn't expecting to be selected not just because she's black but because she's Nigerian without any British affiliation lol. Webmasters / Re: 5 Benefits Of .NG Domain Extension - Techinfo by mahyowah(m): 1:47pm On Sep 08, 2016
techinfong:
Many do ask for the reasons why many don't go for .ng,well i really think everyone want to copy facebook twitter because they use .com,you are wrong that's because they deal with countries not country.

Well let me give you the reasons why you should use .ng extension

1.Local Targeting : Probably you don't know S.e.o. Favour those using local extensions i.e. Their country's main extension e.g. .ng,.co.za e.t.c.
Search engines use it to serve their users better, for example search for anything like BUHARI NIGERIAN .
The only way .com purchasers can beat .ng purchasers was if nigeria was included as part of the domain nairaland.com,naijatechguide.com.
Another sites without ng extension may not make it

2.National Honour and Pride : Who noticed that most organisations in the UK prefer .co.uk to .com ? It is a matter of loyalty to your nation. It is obvious that if we can get our own webmasters to use our own .ng extension, then, it will be awesome for our National pride.

3.Easily memorable : Arguably .ng is the most memorable extension in Nigeria due to its shortness and the fact that ng is the shortest abbreviation for Nigeria.
It will be so easy for your users to remember

4.It is cheap and affordable : Despite the fact that .ng Extension has many benefits,it is cheap and affordable and can be purchased from any top registrars in Nigeria.
It is not expected to be above #2,500

5.Webusers will easily know that it's a Nigerian website : There will be no need for people to start using webmaster tools to check if it your website is for Nigerians or not,the extension already explained that

source : http://techinfo.com.ng/2016/09/02/benefits-using-ng-domain-extension/
I absolutely disagree on the note that it's affordable many Nigerians want to use .ng but it is unreasonably expensive e.g goto whogohost.com and type your desired domain with .ng and compare it to .com/com.ng you'll realize that .ng is just unrealistic for a startup or newbie entrepreneur in Nigeria. Only big companies use .ng I would advice you to reach out to NRA or who ever is in charge of web domain in Nigeria to reduce the cost of domain in Nigeria so that Nigerians will patronize local products. Gracias
