KAI! Omatseye, this ya mouth eh, them go beat you one day o! ![]() There were other ways to define him, though. Remember the near fisticuff with the ritualist from Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, over a minor infrastructural triumph around Ota? Remember the Ekiti saga where he turned minstrelsy about sending the army to the rerun election so that Segun Oni, the apostate with the phony Awo cap, could rig the elections? Those and others were important. But who would forget N10 billion, especially if it was on that note that he made his exit? |
I once wrote that this woman whom Awo once described as a jewel of inestimable value has lost value to his cause (sic) If he came back to life, he would have committed the extraordinary act of divorce after death (sic).” ‘’In another spoof of Christ, where were his family anyway (sic)? “Lagos has posted itself as the John the Baptist (sic).what are the problems with these sentences? |
okemmadu:tell am o |
na wa o! |
no holiday here ( benue) unfortunately |
Odunnu:As it turns out, she is in fact, according to Wikipedia, the First Female Vice chancellor of a Nigerian University. Grace Alele-Williams, (born December 16, 1932) made history as the first Nigerian woman to become the head (vice-chancellor) of a Nigerian university, the University of Benin@ topic, Sir Louis Mbanefo - first Nigerian Lawyer. |
OAM4J:she is indeed a woman of firsts. First female vice chancellor of the University of Benin. |
''compensation with ministerial post''. . .KAI! Naija don suffer. Isn't it time we stopped making a mockery of ourselves before the world? If indeed the young man is qualified for the position, then by all means let him be considered. . .'not compensated'. |
hercules07:I have been there a couple of times and can testify to some of the things the man has done for his people. |
well, the signs are encouraging. . . lets see how this plays out |
what about the domiciliary accounts he was alleged to have used to siphon the funds? surely figures, in this case bank account numbers, don't lie. Those accounts, said to exist in the UBA, as well the proxies used to facilitate the illegal transfers can easily be verified. So I scarcely can see the need for all this drama. |
needed: wet transformer ![]() |
I knew there was more the the Banky saga than meets the eye. intriguing. . .! |
emmatok:Were that the case, don't you think Tinubu would have by now dissociated himself from the story? And to the best of my knowledge he hasn't done that as of today. The overall impression to me (an outsider) seems to be: Yes, we agree with Omatseye, but the language, particularly the attack on HID, was unbecoming. They (Tinubu/Nation) have chosen to keep silent for a reason. Lets wait and see. |
Eko Ile:Indeed @bolded . Even in the rejoinders to Oluwole Awolowo article, almost all of respondents, though expressing reservations with the flak on the nonagenarian, were more or less in support of Omateye. My case is that The Nation's silence could easily be (mis)construed as a tacit repudiation of the contentious piece. As Tribune dey fire the guy relentlessly, (no less then 10 stories at my last count, indeed the thread's title is on their cover of today!), na so The nation too for fire their own back. Make them no just leave the guy like that naa. . . |
hercules07:Pius Adesami is a consummate satirist. you need to see his piece on Patience Jonathan. |
not sure this generalization is fair. . .if anything, I've noticed women seem to be more apologetic when they are wrong. |
Like I said in a previous thread, while Tribune seems to be doing all the screaming and shouting, The Nation, on the other hand, has maintained a steady, albeit curious, silence. Apart from the reply by Oluwole Awolowo, there's been nothing else: no commentaries, no follow ups, nothing. Could it be that Omatseye underestimated the kind of uproar his piece would generate? I'm tempted to believe that The nation may want to distance itself from the piece, perhaps hoping that the article would be seen as a personal opinion of its Editorial board chairman and not an official position of the paper. |
snowdrops:there you go |
Funny thing while Tribune has gone all out to rubbish the image Omatseye and his alleged benefactor, Tinubu, The Nation, on the other hand, has maintained a curious silence over the issue. If you notice, not a single mention has been made of the faceooff in any of their editions after the publication by Omasteys. |
So what? dont' see anything wrong there. |
Am I not spending too much time on NL? |
oladayo042:Good one! |
ojofu:that's not true. though I'm not Tiv, I'm in Tivland at the moment, and aside the fact that they don't even eat pounded yam all that much, akpu is their staple here, it is always eaten with soup. |
I would go for goat meat over beef, or even chicken any day. mmmmmmmmm |
one the meat is gone, I lose interest in the food. in fact I'm not sure I can look at meatless plate of food, not to talk of eating it. (except I'm terribly famished) |
Kobojunkie:I'm not quite sure myself. It probably may not be too far from the picture painted by synthesis. |
ola olabiy:Definitely bored with ola olabiy:based on |
Kobojunkie:where did you get this from? |
