Politics / My Take On SHEKAU and The New B.H Video by Maisuya1: 8:22pm On Dec 29, 2016
Shekau is not a new name to the Nigerian public he is the famed BH leader with a notorious sense of humour in his videos.

In his new video however unlike the previous ones I sensed a psychologically tired struggling even among his own ranks.
These are my take.

DEFENSIVE SHEKAU
the SHEKAU we have come to know is always on the offensive in his tone of delivery confident of the capability of his men to install fear in the public's mindset. But the SHEKAU of this video is literally begging the audience to accept his own side of the story and disregard the NA

THREATLESS SHEKAU
In this video SHEKAU made little or know threat against the president or COAS even though he addressed them by name (unlike SHEKAU who ones threatened to kill the previous president and the current one). I think the closest threat I heard against burutai was 'you'll see'

'MODERATE' SHEKAU
We all know SHEKAU considers Nigerian Muslims as infidels because they use the constitution. In sharp contrast to his kill-them-all approach to Muslims, SHEKAU in the video appeared to be offering an olive branch to the Muslims or his 'brothers' as he now refers to them. Definitely a sign of his weakening base

'HUMBLE' SHEKAU
AS he referred to himself in the video, he said; he is no better than a 'wood' or even a 'carton' except that God has chosen him. I think this message was meant for his own followers than for Nigerians especially now that the IS designated faction of barnawi has been dislodged with the capture of barnawi himself by the DSS. It show a weak SHEKAU appealing to factions to unite behind him.

APEAL TO CHRISTAINS
rather than the hostile message to Cristian's of repent or die, he is now just saying repent.

My final take is just that the NA should not relent on the current onslaught on the group and the president must ensure that the MNJTF is up to its task and ensure that BH do not regroup across the boarder.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram: What A Retired General Told Me About ‘defeat Claims’ – Fani-kayode by Maisuya1: 10:01pm On Dec 26, 2016
The contradiction in ffk's thought process calls for concern about his mental health.
In one sentence you claim that the defeat of BH is a propaganda to vindicate Islam by PMB and in another you say PMB supported BH against 'infidel' GEJ. The question is if the former is the aim of PMB why stress him self about latter.

Education / Re: Abia State School Children Receive Free Made In Aba Shoes (photos) by Maisuya1: 10:55am On Dec 21, 2016
thecrush:

I dont totally agree. They just understand what their customers want so they give it to them.

you are right and this model is profitable for now. But they have to start thinking big and longterm, they should shape the market strategically and not the otherway. This current government's policies has handicaped foreign competition, and now is the time to step up their game with little or know real cost.
Apple just recently started accepting Naira in their Itunes and Appstores because they can no longer compete from outside anymore, unfortunately there is no local competition to them.
Education / Re: Abia State School Children Receive Free Made In Aba Shoes (photos) by Maisuya1: 10:05am On Dec 21, 2016
I might be wrong, but these Aba made shoes can go further if they take the hard way of creating a niche and nurturing a brand fort themselves rather than immitating popular brands and designers. Who knows, some of these designer shoes we buy from boutiques at exhorbitant prices may be Aba made imitations. Sales might drop and profits wont come immidiately but you will certainly be setting up yourselves to be brands to be reckoned with if you develop a solid homebase market in your own image.
But nonetheless nice creativity

Politics / Re: Buhari: Fine From Far But Far From Fine by Reno Omokri by Maisuya1: 4:29pm On Dec 05, 2016
@FlyboyZee
Don't quote me out of context Reno was trying to say that 'recession started when looting stopped' in an apparent mockery of this administrations anti graft effort. That is misleading and an oversimplification. Recession started because our major sources of revenue dropped due vandalism in production which in turn led to drop in our FX supply, which in turn led to fall in FX reserves and hence the currency crisis. Now because the government does not have enough reserves to defend the naira it partially floated/depreciated the naira, this has resulted soaring prices because ours is a consumer nation rather than manufacturing one, thus, we imported the inflation (also a cost-push inflation).
Also note that our major export/produce is oil which has contracted due to vandalism hence, the contraction of Gross Domestic Product over successive quarters (which is also the technical definition of a recession and not the anti graft war Reno was alluding to)
Politics / Re: Buhari: Fine From Far But Far From Fine by Reno Omokri by Maisuya1: 1:58pm On Dec 05, 2016
Am afraid Reno is wrong in both facts and what he inferred from them. Just because the prevailing sentiments (mine inclusive) is against this government should not make anyone peddle false information or amount to us believing everything we read hook, line and sinker.

He mentioned that crude prices averaged $20 in obj's 2 terms. First of all crude oil was only in the $20's during obj' first year in office. The average price of crude in obj's 8 years was $45 with a peak of over $70 at the tail end of his 2 terms.

In his attempt to ride on popular sentiments Reno claimed 'the recession started when looting stopped', this is a childish analogy on his part. Yes the current governments rigid policies played a role in fostering this recession on us but more important is the drop in our main source of revenue and FX - oil. During the Goodluck's regime average production was at 2.4 million barrels a day, currently we are barely doing above 1 million bpd. Any meaningful analysis of the cause of the recession should start from the crisis in our source of revenue.

The rest of his argument are mere subjective rantings like GEJ said this and PMB said that, which sincerely is a no brainier. He did actually credited the cut in PMS price from 97 to 87 to GEJ but forgot to mention whence GEJ met it after Yaradua.

Politics / Re: Long term Agriculture is Not Way Foward Industrialization Is. (nigerian Economy) by Maisuya1: 3:56pm On Dec 01, 2016
either way you look at it agriculture is the way forward. Establish your self as selfsuficient food producer and integrate the whole value chain (production, processing etc) and you have a guaranteed export market for eons to come. Any other industrialization trajectory we follow beside agriculture is subject to structural and cyclical shocks in the global economy. Its kind of twisted, but agriculture is a beautiful thing

Islam for Muslims / Re: Still on Sallah Celebration in china, never knew they have Muslims like this by Maisuya1: 8:51am On Sep 22, 2016
China has a rich and long islamic history dating back to the 7th century. The architecture in the sixth picture resembles that of the great mosque of xian in shaanxi province of china. It is over 1200 years old biult during the Tang dynasty.
I was there once to see it and the terracotta warriors (incidentally in the same province) the interior of the great mosque is covered with tiny scripts ot the quran from the first chapter to the last. If you are in china its a piece of history worth visiting, muslims and non muslims alike.
Politics / Re: Cattle Rustlers Killed By Troops In Zamfara (Graphic Photos) by Maisuya1: 12:43pm On Sep 15, 2016
Love Machine:
Cattle rustlers are mere thieves who steal cattle. When will the army kill the murderers called fulani herdsmen?

It is these same cattle theives that terrorize farmers and then you call them herdsmen (mind you these cattle theives r fulani). A genuine herdsman always keeps his herds in sight and has no time raiding villages pillaging and plundering.
