Religion / What The Quran Says About Christians by Maisuya1: 4:26pm On Jul 22, 2012
I was just reciting my daily dose of Ramadan Quran and came accros this verse. Interesting

"Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.
And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger, thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognise the truth: they pray: "Our Lord! we believe; write us down among the witnesses."

Here is timeline of US shootings, note this is not an exhaustive list it only includes school shootings. So anything short of a clearly detailed description of the shootings is a fraud. Coz u also can predict a shooting in the US nxt yr

BahPulo:
First of All Ramadhan Kareem my brothers and sisters in Islam. I love this month I can't explain it but it's one month that
I am anger free........

I wish to be able to fast as many days as possible cause due to pregnancy I developed diabetes which lower my blood sugar. so I am hoping to fast the whole month if my health allows me. Also I hope that my hijab will be permenant lol even when ramddan is long gone. Another goal is for me to continue reading the koran regularly.

Allah bless u sister, and ur unborn baby. And may he relieve u of ur ailment for the barakaat of this month.

Ehen, as I was saying.... U should have seen the number of new faces in our mosque, u would think we were visited by angels in human form! So after my post subhi sleep I woke up around 9 am (took a day off from work) my wife insisted I drive her to the city suburb for a formal engagement, she managed to convince me to take her (she ended up spending the whole day there, almost costing us our dinner ). Well while driving back I saw a MR MIGGS and thot to myself " why not just drive in and have launch since my wife will be out all day" I had just packed when I realised - dude, u r fasting, common. Phew! That was close.... But then I remembered a Hadith which said who ever eat forgetfully while fasting he should stop as soon as he remembers and he should continue fasting, it was Allah that fed him.... Well I guess in my case Allah almost fed me, alhadulillah nonetheless....

*to be continued (after my taraweeh prayers)

I woke up past 4 am I met my wife already eating suhr (pre Dawn meal) I was like "ehen! so ur plan was not to wake me abi" but apparently she had tried to wake me like 3 times earlier.
Then we went for subhi prayers (Dawn prayer) the mosque was suprisingly full, in previuos days only 2 to 3 rows of the 7 rows in the mosque were filled, but today the mosque was so filled additional rows had to be created outside shocked call it Ramadan fever cheesy
... To be continued (I need to go break my fast) ? cool

Politics / Who Increased The Font Size Of Nairaland? by Maisuya1: 7:43pm On Jul 18, 2012
I know the answer is the owner! But common on my android touch phone the font size increase makes sense. But using my iPad (which is what I use most) it's affecting my eyes and making me dizzy.

The cost outweighs the benefit. With the former smaller font size you can zoom in using any mobile device, but with this eye poppin font size I can't zoom out with my iPad and it's affecting my eyes. cry

Am enjoying this fact based exchange by both sides. But let me make a suggestion to the tiarabubu and tbaba team. How about you base the arguments on factual proving of disproving of points made.

FOR EXAMPLE TBABA POINTED TO
. Vegetation appeared before the sun (Gen. 1:11–12), (P.s: the whole creation story),
Abraham came from Ur of the Chaldees (Gen. 11:31)(Ur of the Chaldees did not exist until about the eighth century B.C.,about one thousand years after the time of Abraham.)
The tiabubu team can provide evidence that tha above is fact and tbaba is wrong (and not arguments like the Muslims also believe similar things )

1. How did you meet your wife?

2. How did you know that she is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with?

3. Did she give you a hard time before she said yes?

4. How was transition into married life?

5. Has she surpassed your expectations or has she maintained the standard of character and other attributes that you saw in her which made you attracted to her?

6. What has marriage added that was not obtainable to you as a single Muslim man?

Ok, I didn't have an interview I mind when I created this thread, but nonetheless I will try to answer these questions at my own pace. (I'm travelling out of the country, so it will be hectic, I will be tired, and I may be offline. I just had a stop and saw this shocked )

So I will start by a general comment.

My wife is the most loving, caring and beautiful woman I have ever met. And all these are no eulogies, they are die hard facts!

1. We met some 5 yrs before we got married, then she was seeking admission and I was in my first yr in uni. During this period the relationship endured a lot, from detractors telling me that girl is not worth u, to my stay abroad for further studies. It also endured other suitors both within and outside the country. So all in all it was a tough battle but one worth fighting for...
