Technology Market / Re: Circuit Atlantic – A Sure Way To Buy From The US by Maisuya1: 11:10am On Sep 24, 2014
I don't know what call circuit atlantic, whether they fraudulent or outright incompetent, I placed others for three books;
Discovery of witches
The book of life
New Chinese astrology

I payed for the fastest delivery means airfreight, this was exactly 2 months ago.
First they claimed the cargo was wrongly routed
Then they said it was lost and will file for claims from the airline
Then it was found again and has departed US( this was 10 days ago) you then wonder how many days it takes a flight from US to nigeria.

Please circuit atlantic provide my items or refund my money. (By the way, they don't pick my calls anymore)

So if u r planning to use them I suggest you don't based on my expirience.

typical nigerian journalism, with glaring lack of grasp of the actors or factors involved.

can anyone without a financial background (or even with one) summarize the main reason the strike is being embarked upon exclusively from the contents of the above write up?

Another day of fasting passed, spent most of the day at work, was able to squeeze some Quran recitation after ZUHR prayer, will be travelling tomorrow although am allowed not to fast, I think the better option will be to fast.
Islam for Muslims / Re: How Was Your Fasting Today? by Maisuya1: 6:51am On Jul 03, 2014
When I used to be back home there was a mosque that did that, but u can be sure those who attended had not just strong eeman but physical strength,

As for me if I can get an imam dat recites d Quran well I don't mind how long taraweeh takes. Infact where I pray now I normally overhear the recitation of another imaam from another mosque when we finish our prayers, that guy 'karshe ne', he uses a beautiful melody, he has sublime 'mukharijah'(pronunciation) and he recites with an unusual riwaya (what do u call this self). One of these days I will try and trace the mosque
Islam for Muslims / How Was Your Fasting Today? by Maisuya1: 9:42pm On Jul 02, 2014
Assalamu alaikum,

Last year I remember there was a thread were brothers and sisters shared how their fast day went. I guess the current stress in the atmosphere and the data loss here has slowed things down. That said this is how my fasting days went.

I can't believe its day 5 going to 6 already yet having done much in terms of ibadah (waAllahulmusta'an). Well one thing that has stood out this Ramadan is my wife's cooking, mehn she's good (I ll marry her over again if I have to) Allah bless her.

Another thing I did which anyone can tryout is; I noticed the mosque in my neiboughood is always filled to capacity since Ramadan (where did the extra people come from? Did they just realised there was a mosque there?) some people even have to pray outside on the ground so I bought 2 mats and dedicated the rewards therefrom to my late cousin and dad. (All those extraterrestrials that appeared and filled our mosque to capacity, hopefully the rewards from their prayers on the mat will go to my dad and cousin)

How was your day?
Islam for Muslims / Re: Stop reading Arabic Quran If You Do Not Understand It's Meaning by Maisuya1: 8:02pm On Jun 30, 2014
OP as much as I agreed with some of what you said about understanding the meaning of the Quran but you lost me when you said the mere recitation adds no value without understanding d meaning. Here I beg to differ, and this is why;

Tbaba has provided you with the advice of the honoured prophet (PBUH) on the virtue of reciting d Quran and d rewards therefrom and there are lots more of those advice from the prophet.( would it be safe if I assume you didn't mean by your post that the prophet's advice is irrelevant here, did you? Because that will be spiritual suicide)

Now I will try to use the Quran to convince you that the tilaawah(recitation) is as important as the tadabbur(pondering) over the meanings

The word Quran is a masdar(verbal noun) which literarily means recitation.

Allah says ;“Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it.” “Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it” (75:16-18)

Here Allah addresses the enthusiasm shown by d noble prophet during the revelation of the Quran. The point I want to make here is that Allah takes responsibility for both recitation(pronunciations, intonations etc) and explanation (meanings and understanding)of the Quran, if the recitation was unimportant the prophet wouldn't be taught the recitations and then the explanations. Another thing worth noting is that even though the Quran was sent to the prophet through the angel jibril (AS), Allah ascribes the collection, recitation and explanation to Himself (Azzawajall).

Other verses which stress the importance of Quran recitation include.

“He it is Who raised among the inhabitants of Mecca a Messenger from among themselves, who recites to them His communications and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and the Wisdom, although they were before certainly in clear error,” (62:2)

Also here Allah tells us he sent the prophet to recite to us and then teach us the (meaning of) book.

From these few verses and there are lot more Allah emphasises the importance of both recitation and understanding the meaning of the Quran

Religion / Re: Mary Mother Of Jesus In The Quran (peace Be Upon Them) by Maisuya1: 9:58pm On Dec 29, 2013
I don't know why people come up with arguments like 'Islam thrives on condemning Judaism and christianity' or 'Islam was adapted from the Jewish and Christian religion' or 'the Quran was copied from the bible' etc those sort of assertions reek of intellectual laziness and here is why.

1. I don't think anybody would contest the fact that neither Jesus nor Moses (peace be on both of them) named their religion christainity or Judaism respectively. These were names concocted long after both these messengers had departed. So what religion did they follow?

2. I don't need to provide proof that Jesus came to fulfil the laws of Moses, nor that Moses came to revive the ways of Joseph, nor that Joseph died on the path/religion of of his fathers Abraham, ismael, Isaac, and Jacob (peace be upon them all). So what religion did they follow?

3. It is the Sunna of Allah (ways of God) that he has sent prophets and messengers to mankind in succession at various time of our existence bearing and reaffirming one eternal truth; the worship of one true God and shunning all other idols. This was the essence of the message of Noah, Enoch, Abraham, Lot, Jonah, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them). Any time this eternal truth is currupted by men or the slow passage of time God sends another messenger to reafirm this truth (that He alone is the one true God worthy of worship). Thus the message of all these great messengers had a similar essense even though the individual laws giiven to each messenger may vary depending on time, people's disposition towards the message and geographic location.

So that the God who was a friend(khalil) to Abraham, and spoke(kalaam) to Moses, and strengthened Jesus with the Holy Spirit (ruhul qudus) now chose (mustapha) muhammad (peace be upon them all) as His final messenger and gave him a message similar to that of the followers of Christ or the adherents of the mosaic law shouldn't come as a surprise. Infact the suprise would have been if muhammad (peace be upon him) came with a differnt religion or different book.

In the words of Allah

Chapter 4 verse 163
“ We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.”
Religion / Re: Mary Mother Of Jesus In The Quran (peace Be Upon Them) by Maisuya1: 11:05pm On Dec 28, 2013
Yes this might sound differnt from the Hebrew's because the language of the Quran is more concise (in wordings) sublime (in descriptions) and direct (in presentation).
Religion / Mary Mother Of Jesus In The Quran (peace Be Upon Them) by Maisuya1: 7:14am On Dec 28, 2013
I shall try as much as possible (apart from these preamble) to present who Mary (AS) was using only the Quran and not to add even my own personal commentary. This to enable every one see and read the high esteemed position Islam holds the chaste virgin (AS).

It is worth mentioning that there is chapter in the Quran dedicated to Mary mother of Jesus (Alaihima SalAam) a status neither the mother nor the most beloved daughter of our noble prophet (SAW) attained in the Quran.

And below I present you the narrative of Mary from the Quran and may peace be upon whomever follows guidance.

Quran chapter 19 verses 16 - 34

“And make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East,

019.017 And had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our Spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man.

019.018 She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art Allah-fearing.

019.019 He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son.

019.020 She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste?

019.021 He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained.

019.022 And she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place.

019.023 And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this “and had become a thing of naught, forgotten!

019.024 Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee,

019.025 And shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee.

019.026 So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal.

019.027 Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing.

019.028 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot.

019.029 Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, a young boy?

019.030 He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture and hath appointed me a Prophet,

019.031 And hath made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive,

019.032 And (hath made me) dutiful toward her “who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest.

019.033 Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!

019.034 Such was Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt.”

Islam for Muslims / Jews Help Guard Uk Mosques After Attacks Attacks by Maisuya1: 11:09am On Sep 06, 2013
London, UK - Muslim leaders in an area of north-east London have recruited the help of a police-trained ultra-orthodox Jewish neighbourhood patrol to bolster security following attacks on mosques and threats against Muslim communities in the UK.

The initiative, in the Stamford Hill neighbourhood of Hackney, has seen mosques added to a list of local sites watched over by Shomrim, a volunteer organisation that responds to reports of crime, anti-social behaviour and other incidents in the area and calls itself "the eyes and ears of the police".

"We keep an eye on all the mosques. If we see anything suspicious, we'll take down a car registration number, report it to the police, keep it for intelligence, log the call and hopefully there won't be any trouble," Chaim Hochhauser, Shomrim's supervisor, told Al Jazeera.

Munaf Zeena, chairman of the North London Muslim Community Centre, said the arrangement, under which Shomrim volunteers have also advised the centre on security issues, was prompted by a series of attacks targeting mosques and Muslims since the killing of Lee Rigby, a British soldier, in Woolwich, south London, in May

My friend in the uni in those days had committed the whole Quran into memory in at least 3 differnt riwaya (dialects) my neighbour has memorised the whole Quran in at least 2.

My point is if our generation of far more weaker eeman compared to the companions of the prophet (peace be upon them) can achieve such remarkable things, do you think the companions who saw, sat heard from the prophet himself (peace be upon him) wouldn't have done better.

Burn all the Qurans in the world and see if 7 year olds (no exageration) don't regurgitate it for u verbatim from memory. (That's part of the miracle of the book)

@enigma

If u have bothered to read through the post u will notice that tbaba actually quoted the original author on that website I.e Jerald Dirk in many places. How can you plagiarise and still reference the person? For your information it is called content analysis or more loosely, paraphrasing. (I guess while at it u would also accuses Dirk of plagiarising others he referenced in his write up).

Quit the ranting and provide a rebuttal already, or stop distracting.

With all due respect, the argument presented here by tbaba r clear, concise and schorlarly laid out (with references). I have read ur posts in the past and they also are researched. But please let the christains debunk tbaba's assertion and establish with superior proof the validity of one of the most important dogma of their creed - crucifixion. Otherwise you can debunk them with reason or research and let's not do the 'Islam this Islam that' argument cycle when christainity is cornered. I am sure if there is a thread discussing anything Islam MATUREDLY (without insults) you will find us most willing to discuss fact for fact, evidence for evidence.

But for now let's stay on point.
