yazach:There are several areas enjoying constant light. |
yazach:The reason why power was 4 per unit in those days was because power supply was heavily subsidized by the government. The government was the sole agent in power generation and distribution. The very reason why Nigeria was not able to build and increase its power generating capacity for closed to 30 years. At the moment, there's no longer subsidy on power because the sector has been unbundled and opened up to the private sector. Today there are private investors in Generation, Transmission and Distribution in the power sector. This is way more efficient compared to the days when government was the sole owner. The situation is changing gradually for the better. To be honest, some areas are enjoying almost 24 hours of electricity. More work still need to be done to cover more areas. |
There's fresh air in the power sector. ![]() |
I hear APC e minions throwing Tantrums, hitting their heads on the wall complaining of poor audio during the live broadcast on AIT. Looks like the communication equipments, gadgets and AIT satellites hate APC ![]() Anyway that's none of my business. ![]() |
Tecno will surprise haters soon. #TeamTecno |

dplordx:The issue of mend is a different case. Mend were agitating for the destruction of their environment as a result of oil exploration and production. They have a worthy cause. Amnesty was given to them and they accepted it. Boko Haram on the other hand are terrorist with no genuine cause other than to impose sharia all over Nigeria. They are driven by extreme ideology. They have no regards for talks and negotiations. To make matters worse, GEJ offered them Amnesty but they blatantly refused it. |
I didn't watch the rally on AIT and I have no plans to watch it either. I got a job to do. |
You want GEJ to remove the petroleum subsidy? Well he tried to do that in 2012 but Nigerians took to the streets in protest. For now, the best option for the short term is for the Nigerian Government to cut down expenses in the recurrent expenditure and raise taxes on luxury items like private jet owners. The four refineries we have are already outdated. Parts needed for their maintenance are currently out of production. Therefore the federal government has no option but to continue with the subsidy program on petroleum products until when new refineries which are scheduled to begin operational in 2018 are completed. BTW Nigeria's economy is still buoyant. The diversification programs are already yielding results with agriculture and manufacturing contributing significantly to our GDP for the first time in many years. In three years time Nigeria will begin the export of Rice, Automobiles, Smartphones etc. This in the long run will push up the value of the naira and strengthen our currency against major world currencies. Export of agricultural products and manufactured goods is the way to go and the federal government is already on it. These are the long term plans towards the development of the economy. It will take a bit of time to yield the needed results. |
They are just desperate for power. GEJ is the best candidate we got now. |
onatisi:Completely agree with you. |
The best way to boost the value of the naira is through economic diversification. Nigeria need to develop the agricultural sector, the service and the manufacturing sector. The more we produce, and and create value for our manufactured products, the more the value of the naira increases. High demand for our goods will push up the value of the naira as we consolidate our area of specialization in the manufacturing sector. |
@Op too much wine is bad for your health. |
WombRaiders:This is beginning to make a lot of sense now. No wonder the guy keeps going to the US periodically like a free agent. He's obviously going there to brief his superiors about his undercover activities in Nigeria. |
The rich also cry. |
Buhari is not only expired, he belong to the stone age. |
Obalende:This is not a matter of inferiority or whatever. What is Wrong is Wrong. Jungle Justice is WRONG and must be condemned! |
GAZZUZZ:The funny thing is that Nigerians will always say we need a better government that is civilized and alive to its responsibilities like those of developed countries. But deep down we are still as barbaric as anyone can get. How can we be civilized when we ourselves behave and act like savages reminiscent of the stone age? Nigerians need a total change of attitudes and behavior. |
Acts of civilized people entails calling up law enforcement officers and agencies when ever suspected criminals are caught. Not burning them alive. What if the suspect turns out to be innocent on proper investigation? This action is barbaric and must be condemned by all. Jungle Justice is an act of Pure Barbarism. #Saynotojunglejustice! |
bakila:How can we all be civilized when we always blame the system for our actions? Are we all not products of the system? Jungle Justice is barbaric and must be discouraged by all means. |
Say no to jungle justice. |
Those countries have very small population compared to their resources. Take Libya for example their total population is not up to 10 million. Any, Nigeria will soon get there. |
MTHEN are thieves in corporate suits. |
This incidence must be investigated thoroughly. Was the suspect really carrying an explosive device? Imagine the damaged done to end his life when on proper investigation the contents of the sack turned out to be electronic equipments for his repair shop. Even if the guy was indeed carrying a bomb, jungle justice is not the way forward. Who knows the kind of information he might have about their numerous terrorists targets? People should learn how to act civil at all times. This is an act of Pure Barbarism. #Saynotojunglejustice! |
FLAWLES:Why do I have this feeling that you're still lying? ![]() |
