The war against bokoharam is taking a different turn. There seem to be an ongoing effort by some negative powers to drive the impression that local hunters can fight Boko Haram more than the military. Their major aim is to give the impression that Jonathan's Army are Wussies while the Local Hunters (some may be boko haram agents) as great fighters and champions, using just bows and arrows with locally made rifles. Do you know see the fallacy of the accusations by the opposition that the Nigerian Army is ill equipped? It's very surprising the way the opposition ridicule our soldiers, the same soldiers they may work with when the get to the center in 2090. |

courage54: This is the real meaning of DEMOCRACY, not like the PDP who kills other people ambitions just because of one man who can not even control his wife.
If this is true, then my preference will be:
1. MUHAMMADU BUHARI 2. TAMBUWAL 3. ROCHAS OKOROCHAS 4. KWANKWASO 5. NDA ISIAH 6. Atiku
#teamSaiBUHARI Interestingly, the same individual you worship so highly was such a good Democrat that he went on to impose himself as the only Presidential Candidate for CPC when he fail to get it on the platform of ANPP back in 2011. |

najoke: Abraham Lincoln Didn't Quit
Here is a sketch of Lincoln's road to the White House:
• 1816: His family was forced out of their home. He had to work to support them. • 1818: His mother died. • 1831: Failed in business. • 1832: Ran for state legislature - lost. • 1832: Also lost his job - wanted to go to law school but couldn’t get in. • 1833: Borrowed some money from a friend to begin a business and by the end of the year he was bankrupt. He spent the next 17 years of his life paying off this debt. • 1834: Ran for state legislature again - won. • 1835: Was engaged to be married, sweetheart died and his heart was broken. • 1836: Had a total nervous breakdown and was in bed for six months. • 1838: Sought to become speaker of the state legislature - defeated. • 1840: Sought to become elector - defeated. • 1843: Ran for Congress - lost. • 1846: Ran for Congress again - this time he won - went to Washington and did a good job. • 1848: Ran for re-election to Congress - lost. • 1849 Sought the job of land officer in his home state - rejected. • 1854: Ran for Senate of the United States - lost. • 1856: Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party’s national convention - got less than 100 votes. • 1858: Ran for U.S. Senate again - again he lost. • 1860: Elected president of the United States.
Stop opening useless threads You are comparing Gen Buhari with Abraham Lincoln? THIS IS THE MOST FUNNIEST JOKE I EVER HEARD ON NAIRALAND!!!!

Something here doesn't feel right. The Opposition had consistently bashed the military, accused the federal government of under arming our security forces. They kept the momentum that our soldiers are ill equipped compared to boko haram with sophisticated weapons. If that is the case, how was it possible for local hunters with spears and arrows to over run and kill 80 boko haram terrorists whom are regarded as better equipped with sophisticated firepower according to the opposition? How is it possible for a man with a spear to kill a man with machine guns? Are they now trying to say the hunters are better fighters than the military? I smell conspiracy. This development is a sublime move to discredit the Nigerian army. As much as I support the involvement of local communities into the security of their respective localities, I cannot understand why the media undertook a campaign of ridicule and disrespect against the Nigerian army. How can the army run away from 80 terrorists only for local hunters to come onto the scene and kill them off? There's more to the fight against terrorism than meets the eye. Definitely, something doesn't feel right. Security of lives and property is a social responsibility for all citizens. Unless the people totally cooperate with the security personnel to flush out terrorists, the fight against bokoharam will linger on. |
