Guess they are doing serious secondary review on the important documents e.g Bank statement and land documents.. Hope he/she didnt submit any fake document, if not you have nothing to worry about. Peace

After your visa has been approved and you've taken your passport to the embassy, how long does it take to be called for pickup....
I've got a friend who got a student visa to canada and has submitted the int. passport for over 8 weeks now but is yet to be called for pickup, could there be any reason for this? Pls I need clarity.

Oga there are bankers here. First bank will never disclose your closing balance with 3re party be it embassy.. Never!! What they do is verify the documents and authenticate it. That's how far first bank will go.

I am just seeing ur post, and I am highly disappointing with what u wrote here.. Its people like you that make Study permit so difficult for Nigeria applicants to get.. Thats why we see almost every refusal here always come with Purpose of Visit because the VO thinks the affected people are like bazzyblings that wanna japa to canada to do some other things rather than study... Imagine ur question, is it compulsory to study? are u for real? When u know you are not going there to study, y apply for a study permit, whats wrong with you going though the express entry route? Thank ur stars that I am in a good mood this night, if not I would have been so mean on u this night.. Study permit is so difficult for genuine students that wanna go to Canada to study just because of desperators like you.. Affidavit of sponsorship is done in a court and stamped by either the court officials or notary, while leter of sponsorship is written by ur sponsor probably with his letter headed if he has a company, so it can look Official.. Peace

Oga Justwise, the bankers on this forum can testify to the fact that Banks do not disclose account balance of their customers to a 3rd party, and embassy is a 3rd party.. What the embassy does is to pick a transaction day or days and contact the banks to know what actually happened dt day as regards the applicant's SOA with them if it tallies with what the banks tell them, but for the bank to disclose closing balance to them, I doubt it. The only organizations that such information can be disclosed to are the EFCC, ICPC e.t.c and not embassy.. Please bankers in the house I want ur input on this cos I no b banker.. Does ur bank tell the embassy the account amount of ur customers to 3rd party including the Canadian embassy? Ur response will be appreciate by Myself, Justwise and also this family... Peace

Embassy has no right to know how much an applicant have? Did you not submit your bank statement and sign a disclaimer authorizing them to verify your document?

Yes its about whether the money is still there and whether the account is genuine.

Its nt about the money, embassy has no right to know how much an applicant have.. What they do is to know the authenticity of the Bank account and also to know transactions that they see on the submitted SOA if it tallies with the response of the bank, so its nt about if the moneyis still there or not.. I can be corrected on this by those with experience tho.. Peace

i studied geology bro, there is a course about mineral resources in geology called economic geology and they are the same just different name. geological engineering is related to mineral resources in terms of mine survey and lithium blah blah exploitation with their relative rock and soil sciences.
and there is geological project manager as a Job. but i think he should focus on getting admission for Gis in a college and he can then switch once visa is out.

From Mineral resources to Geological engineering to Project Management.. Bros, what exactly do u want in life? Are you working, if yes then I hope ur work description is related to project management... If not, you really need a serious convincing to do in ur SOP and LOE on career progression... Peace

Morning guys. I applied for study permit in May. Got rejected after 5 weeks. Re applied in July. The processing time they gave was 7 weeks. It's been 7 weeks and it hasn't changed. However, just now I just received a biometrics validity message. I don't even know what it means or what to expect. Any gives?

Dunno why u guys keep asking this question? what next? Imagine as a skilled person, working in a UK company for 2 years and u put in handwork and make ursef useful and relevant to the company, and the company recognizes ur input to them.. Even if u dnt want PR, the company will make sure you are going no where and they fastrack ur PR asap cos of ur importance to them.. I had a friend in this situation, baba just went for his 1 year Masters and was lucky to work in one UK company, after a year they didn't release him oo, he is still in the UK now.. And this was when Uk was still doing their rubbish of going back to ur home country after studies.. Am sure he's a Citizen now.. And the Indians u talked about, just watch it. they will also start porting to the UK. Who doesn't wanna earn in pounds? Canada will start losing revenue from International students, so they will be calm with their refusal decision.. Thats the reason UK is starting this now, they are losing so much revenue from International students, so they needed to wake up... Canada needs more people in their country, so them seing this from the UK will calm them down.. For us to be sure, lets start seeing their decision from next year, if approval wont be more than refusal... I just pray Nigerians do not spoil the UK before then tho like the way they did to Canada...Peace

The only effect this will have is a decrease in revenue for the Canadian government, but for how long. By the time we are caught after six months for using fake documents, we will all run back to CIC again. Mind you, 2years work permit, after that, what next? Will you be allowed to file for PR? Canada will still remain the way they are. They don't even care about Nigerians, they have a lot of Indians they are giving visas. Canada would prefer to give Syrian refugees visa rather than Nigerian applicants. So if UK gives work permit or not, it affects CIC in no way. They will still dish out refusals as they wish. My thoughts though. I stand to be corrected.

Boss, I didn't say they will stop refusing visa tho, I said the refusal rate will decrease if they see that the number of applicants apllying for their study visa is reducing drastically cos am sure most Nigerians are tired of Canada refusals and will wanna port to the UK which to me is better than Canada in a way... Imagine earning in Pounds compared to Canadian dollar... Peace

I woke up this morning to see this great news! Surely, Nigerians will start exploring the option of going to the UK for studies. However, this doesn't stop Canada immigration officer's from refusing applications from Nigeria nor hinder them from running secure/high background checks. So, let's don't think this news will in anyway remodel their decision-making on any application coming from Nigeria.

If we Nigerians behave ourselves by not submitting fake documents for their visa application, they will have no reason to tighten their scrutiny... What Canada is doing to Nigeria applicants is actually caused by we Nigerians. . FAKE Documents is the order of the day from most Nigerian applicants... Even the ones that are there are spoiling it for prospective Nigerian applicants... So ig we behave oursleves, their will b no reaosn for them to do that... Peace

UK Introduces 2 years work Visa for international students... Am sure the traffic for Canadian study permit will reduce drastically and Canadian VOs will reduce their unnecessary refusals, cos am sure most Nigerian peeps with their money will prefer going to the UK than Canada.. What am saying in conclusion is that Approvals will be more than refusals in the coming months, or better still starting from Next year.... Peace

The last time I checked, Google has not disappeared into thin air.... Just google SOP format for Canada study permit, and u can go further by typing SOP guidelines and format for Canadian study permit.. Whats so difficult in doing that? If u waiting for someone to drop his or her own SOP here, at the person's risk and also at ur own risk.. Peace

So what will u present to the embassy to show that u are truly a student who have already gotten admission into any of the DLI institutions and wanna truly go study in Canada.. In fact getting LOA should be the very first thing you must have before any other document for study permit application.. Thank God u came across this thread before the people u listen to finally confuse ur living soul and turn ur brain upside down... Peace

But with ma little understanding, its obvious they are reminding you to come pick ur passport after u have abandoned it with them for long.. Do urself some good by going there to pick ur passport.... I wanna assume you were refused, reason why u feeling reluctant to go pickup ur passport.. And if it is an approval, then it means God loves you so much, for ur SOP to have scaled through with a poor write-up(I haven't seen ur SOP tho, but with what I just read here, its obvious ur SOP would be badly written too).. So ma little advise is to go pick ur passport before the deadline, if its a refusal.. order for ur GCMS note and re-fire.. AND most importantly work on ur written English, I must tell u its really bad.. No offense intended.. Peace

I have seen cases where a study permits were approved with an active EE profile. And I also have a friend that was initially refused because of his EE profile. Yes, Canada allows dual intent, but you guys need to understand that when it comes to canada immigration, no two cases are the same.

Ok.. Thanks for the correction, since u personally had the experience.. I also said that based on the experience of peeps like you on this thread.. In ma over 3 years on this thread, I havnt come across an applicant that got his or her study permit approved while the EE application was still on, instead their study permit application has been refused.. Speaking from experience, I applied for my study permit when my EE profile was active and my permit was granted. In addition, my hubby also got his work permit approved at the same time.

I understand that Canada operate a Dual Intent Policy that allows you to apply for a study permit or tourist visa while you have an active EE profile. The policy allows them to take decisions independently.

My view though, gurus in the house can correct me if I'm wrong.

Was is it the same UCI u used for both applications? if no, then use the UCI for ur study permit.. But it will be in their record that u once had an Express entry profile, but I wanna belive it shouldnt affect ur study permit again, since u have withdrawn ur EE application..Also UCI is always valid cos its a unique number for all applicants.. Hope I was able to answer ur question.. Peace

Yea, its okay to have both Express Entry and Study permit application at the same time.. But the disadvantage to this is that ur Study permit application will most likely be refused cos the VOs will know about ur EE application. And when the VO knws a study permit applicant is also in the EE route, he or she will refuse the applicant cos for an applicant to have an EE application, it means the person isnt having any plan to return back to his home country... And we all know its a NO NO for study permit application.. Peace

Yeah, but some 2, 3 years ago they do not accept pictures when going through the paper route at VFS, I dont know about now.. But if u are going through the online route, you are free to submit anything without any restriction, but make sure ur documents are not so bulky so it will be easy for u to compress to the required 4mb.. And I can see Naijaforeigner has fed u with additional relevant information.. Peace

u are still kinda young(from ma perspective tho)so u are nt really expected to have properties so to speak... And also its obvious u don't also have work experience since u just finished ur NYSC dis year, which means ur only hope of home ties are ur family members here in Nigeria, especially ur parents.. You really need to do ur home work to proof to the VO how very important ur parents are to you, that u cant do without them for so long which means u wont overstay ur duration in Canada.. You can add to what I just wrote here tho, dts just a brief of what u must elaborate on... Peace

how can I prove ties to home country, I finished my UG from Turkey, came back for my nysc and just finished nysc this year, I applied for a one year pgc in my field of study and got admission for January 2020. I am not working ( my dad is my sponsor), i am 24yrs and I don’t have any property to use, my family( parent, siblings, nephews etc) are here in Nigeria and they are all independent.
