Politics / Re: What Are The Governors Doing, If GEJ Receives Condemnation For Everything? by Mallamabdul: 2:05pm On Oct 05, 2012 |
The truth is that all the 36 state Governors put together has not achieved what GEJ has achieved so far. In power sector alone, Jonathan has refurbished 10 power plants. 10 power stations are now working at a time. Which Governor apart from Akpabio has done a single power station since last year. GEJ is handling 11 airport terminals at a time. Look at the railways are now back. Ilorin-Lagos have been revamped. Minna-Kaduna is back. Abuja metropolitan is seriously in progress. Which Governor has established a single university in His state since last year? GEJ has established 9 new federal universities and mobilised them with 2 billion each. Haba. Make we dey talk true sometiimes. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Jonathan Is Nigeria's Most Transparent Leader Wether U Lyk It Or Not by Mallamabdul: 1:53pm On Oct 05, 2012 |
Jonathan is the first president in the history of our country to open up the oil sector to probe. He singlehandedly set up the AIG Imoukhede committee to investigate and make verifications for subsidy payments in Nigeria. The report came out and many doubted the sincerity of government to implement it. But Jonathan did what no other Nigerian President has done. He started the prosecution of those Indicted by Aig Imoukhede by charging the sons of his political leaders and friends. It is on record that sons of prominent PDP leaders were the first to be charged for subsidy corruption. ALI and Tukur were arraigned by EFCC and only admitted to court bail. The matter is still ongoing. EFCC has dragged over 14 persons to court. More are still to be charged in the coming weeks. Marketers indicted for over 400 billion are making refunds to Ngozi Okonjo Oweala. EFCC is still after so many of them. The oil sector has never been under this scrutiny and transperancy before. In addition, GEJ started the idea of budgeting for subsidy funds. It wasn't like that before. The amount spent on subsidy were deducted as first line charge thus shrouded in secrecy. |

Politics / Re: Fg Alone Cannot Solve Insecurity- Maku by Mallamabdul: 1:05pm On Oct 05, 2012 |
BeraBera: Insecurity vs security begins with all of us at the grassroot level. If we all can promptly report any suspicious movement, faces or happenings around us to the security agencies, I believe it would be a bold step towards effective solution to the problems. In Nigeria, You would always see people standing by, watching as onlookers while someone is being attacked by armed robbers. You see people gathering to feed their eyes after a bomb blast, without making calls towards the rescue of affected victims. You hve said it all |

He is the number 3 citizen of this country for over 4yrs now, not mentioning other political positions he has held in this country. He can use all those offices to attract development to his zone or community atleast. So, with that i think he is the silly one |

Jeboy: Also, the new private power companies will need Power engineers, technicians, Accountants, Biz Admin officials, IT experts, Customer Care Centres for Customer care support staffs, etc so you guys should strategise who are this companies and go to their sites to know when they will be recruiting? GEJ will not do that for you. Anybody expecting that is only day dreaming.Govt creates d environment for employment but its our duty to do the needful and be proactive towards benefitting frm d economic effects from dis projects.Clearly, the best comment on this thread. It is Jonathan's job to create enabling environment for jobs to be created. The president is doing just that through the privatisation of PHCN and other reforms. The emerging private distribution companies will definitely need more hands on deck so there will be massive employment opportunities across board. It is left for you to take advantage of this new window of opportunity. |

So happy for this media tour, it's opening up developmental strides of Jonathan. We are witnessing massive evidence of enormous hardwork by a president so maligned and abused in one year of his term |
Politics / Re: New Pics Of National Media Tour -day 2 by Mallamabdul: 4:13pm On Sep 22, 2012 |
The beauty of it all is just that GEJ shuns politics and sentiments to sustain whatever projects inherited from previous presidents. He loves starting from there and completing it. That's the hallmark of great leadership. Some leaders prefer to shy away from inherited projects and start there own so that they will be credited with it. But it's not so with Jonathan. Jonathan has revived so many abandoned projects especially the power stations 2 Likes |

Bukkyade: Gej is really working. Each passing day, we hear and discuss news of his developmental strides. The other day he was in Anambra to commission the new sea ports and oil refinery. The next thing, we heard about the visit/inspection of Enugu-Onitsha road and the assurance of the minister to expedite action. By Wednesday, the information minister announced the re award of so many road projects under the SURE P including the Enugu-Onitsha axis and phase 2 of the Benin-Sagamu, and Kano-Maidugri. We also discussed on this forum last week, the AIT's report on resumption of the Kaduna-Niger railway operations. In that same thread, it was stated that so many rail tracks are being refurbished including the Lagos-Kano and Abuja-kaduna etc. I believe you. Jonathan has been trying and I believe in his ability to sustain the tempo till 2015. |

Kobojunkie:You have a morbid fear for truth. I believe that you are a staunch ACN liar and hater of Jonathan so I will use an ACN newspaper to prove you wrong. Please review this link. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/business/57661-electricity-generation-hits-record-4477mw.html Jonathan's govt has generated 3,477 megawatts of electricity. It's a record in Nigeria's history. |

Politics / Re: New-List Of President Goodluck Jonathan's Achievements by Mallamabdul: 9:53pm On Aug 23, 2012 |
sessydoo: Its easy to criticise but facts dont lie. GEJ has generated over 4,770 megawatts since he came in as against the less than 2600 he met on ground. He Is targeting 9000 MW and this is realizable given the ongoing construction of mambilla and Zungeru. He also intends to privatise PHCN for more efficiency. Our Foriegn reserves have not depleted as you erroneously tried to portray in your post. Rather it has increased from 32 to 36 billion in April 2012. The money in our excess crude account has not also been wasted. The GEJ govt seeks to put an end to this culture of waste by creating the Soverign Wealth Fund which shall be a legal account for savings for the rainy days. Its also funny that you don't know about the ongoing prosecution of oil thieves. How ridiculous? Do you watch TV at all? |

sessydoo: Heyy Reading an article like this makes me weep for my Country naija. Since Jonathan has said his boys are not doing enuf on the media to promote him, thus making him vulnerable to various media bashes, we should definitely expect more sponsored articles/write-ups such as this. these paid agents no wan lose their job o. All hot rantings and vituperations of an ignorant fellow. Jonathan should end unemployment, give you state of the art hospitals and turn Nigeria to US for you in one year in office? Something that his predecessors have failed to do since 1960, you want Magician Jonathan to do immediately. You must be a class clown. Unknown to you, GEJ is fixing the power problem that has held this country back for years. He is the first president to generate upto about 4770 MW in one year. And he is doing more. He has started reviving railways that were abandoned long time ago. He is also working on roads like Benin -Ore and Kano-Maidugri which were abandoned by previous govts. He is working on the airports and the last time I used Kano and Abuja airports, I was impressed with the level of work going on. Im happy with the new Federal university being set up in Lafia and the admission and employment prospects it holds for my brothers. I have plied Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia and appreciate the completion of that road project by this government. You mentioned unemployment. Without talking about the YOUWIN projects, I want to ask you whether you can quantify the employment opportunities that the PRIVATISATION of distribution companies in the power sector holds for our unemployed youths? Do you also know the number of jobs that will be created if this improved power supply is maintained? What about the agricultural reforms that has made access to fertilizer easy in the open market? Have you bothered to acquaint your self with the cassava bread issue and seek ways of keying into it? have you bothered to know what PIB is all about and the employment opportunities it holds for Nigerian youths? Pls educate yourself You also talked about corruption. Please can you tell me any govt in Nigeria's history that ventured into probing its oil sector and expose the oil cabal? Since 1960, we have been hearing the oil looters. Have you seen any name or company indicted for looting oil in Nigeria? Have you ever seen anybody prosecuted for the age long theft of our oil money? But we have seen Jonathan do all of these within just one year of his election as President. We now know the names of the invisible oil cabal. We now see the high and mighty being dragged to court for oil loot. Please let's be realistic |

In Lokoja, we enjoy almost 18 hours of power supply daily. I bought 10 litres of fuel for my generator since the first week of August and it just finished yesterday. I have come to observe that there are some people who either derive joy in seeing the country fail or are paid to ridicule every genuine effort of govt. I'm yet to come to terms as to the reason why somebody would stick out his neck to argue against other people's genuine testimonies. How will somebody in Lagos be restive over a Lokoja resident's claims that power has become regular in his house. I am yet to understand how a person without a vested pecuniary interest will stay up late in the night attacking any view in affirmation of visible improvement of a govt in the power sector. It's mind boggling. It also baffles me how they manage to argue against common reason. With the trend of this senseless attacks, I have come to the irresistible conclusion that El Rufai or Bakare or Tinubu has many paid agents on Nairaland. And their activities and tactics are poorly veiled. 7 Likes |
