The Nigerian Army seems to be on a roll lately. Victory after victory. ![]() Gradually, we shall repossess all that which has been taken from us. Congrats, grand pa! |
wowmenow:Seriously? You're a joke! Look how you've become slave to tribalism. EazyMoh:With this kind of mentality, you seem incapable of running even a recharge card business! Yikes! |
Enough of the talking. It's high time you walked it. Don't create too much expectations than you can shoulder. |
Pheals:And where did Kachikwu state that government will be paying subsidies? |
There's more to this fulani herdsmen issue than meets the eye. Something is definitely amiss. It's the kind of thing that makes one wish they could watch in 4k resolution. |
Krucifax:You're right in some aspects. Especially on the growth potential one. I've seen some, while others, I've seen on papers and online. The future looks promising. That said, I wish we'll be happy about everything Nigeria. Be the investment in Lagos, Abuja, Calabar, Enugu or Kano. I just want to see us grow. Wonder why some people are so bent on detracting. |
mandax:Obviously, you have no idea how much houses cost abroad. Krucifax:Not entirely true. Lagos' relevance is a result of quite a number of factors. The possession of sea ports, it being the economic hub of the country and a lot more other factors. There's a reason the Portuguese found it strategic. To make Abuja truly magnificent, I believe, there's need to make it a financial hub of some sort. Guess that's what the World Trade Centre is aimed at achieving. On a side, I wonder why every Abuja thread is turned into a battle for supremacy between it and Lagos. Degenerates! |
eyeview:Imagine that you're a rice farmer who seeks to go into beans farming to boost income. Will you refuse more rice farms offered you because you want to go into beans farming? |

May the Devil never mess anyone's success like he did the top 4 in EPL's. Na turn by turn sha... beg baba God make e reach your turn... Congrats, Leicester! Impossible is nothing! |
Imagine! How many mouths does this guy have? Clowns in government! It beats me how someone who cannot put his own mouth in one place pilots the affairs of his state. Yoruba people can talk, very outspoken and erudite people...only, they are not known to talk nonsense! Well, except for Fayose and the other one. Fayose, who is your father, again?! |
All gone into funding private pockets! The level of corruption in government is absurd! Why a man will decide to be this callous to another is is inexplicable. There's this serving governor who got sworn in not quite long ago. He hasn't really got things going for the state yet, but already has plans mapped out for embezzlement... what was I even saying, he's already zapping the state dry! The conduit? A reputable bank! |
omenka:Exepect nothing less from these lots. Remember it takes brain to be intelligent. You can't get that these people. They just love to display ignorance out in the open. |
![]() E go do them like film tricks. This raises the question--how much was paid to ministers as accommodation allowances in the past? Seen. The question above was initially posted as a placeholder. |
nairalanddotorg:A visit to ABU will convince you otherwise. If it's about making it big, you can make it anywhere. The structures in the UK seemingly guarantees better chances of success, but in the end, it boils down to the individual. You won't strike gold just because you moved to the UK. |
Most people just want to have an opinion on subjects they know too little to nothing about. The hatred runs deep. Tempers are flaring. A lot of reporters in the real sense are arm-chair journalists! People are quick to act on emotions rather than on thoughts. The problems facing us today are a culmination of the above stated, among other reasons. As someone who's lived most of his life up north, and qualifies as a Northerner by virtue of my being from the Middle Belt, I have seen the fulanis up close quite often. Not your regular city fulanis, I'm referring to the nomads here. I've had quite a few experiences with them, too. Long time ago, as a child, it was in my village at the time. We went visiting. One day, I decided to accompany the guy herding my dad's cattle at the time. We went deep into the bushes to graze. Somewhere along the line, hot in the afternoon, the water we took along got finished and there was nowhere close we could refill from. I became very thirsty, so thirsty that I couldn't carry myself with any strength at all. The fulani nomads around hadn't any water themselves. So as things got worse for me, one of them suggested that I get some milk to reinvigorate me. The guy I was with told him we brought no calf along (should incase you're wondering why calf? To milk a cow, the calf is first breastfed so the mother could release milk). He then offered to milk his for us. For me, that was the kindest thing I had experienced at such tender age. Another incident happened in Yobe state, sometime around '98/'99. This time, it wasn't me directly, it was to a soldier I know. Before they became known as Boko Haram, they were thieving, killing, maiming, and carting away with any valuable they could get their hands on in Yobe and environs. Simply put, they have been disturbing the peace since a while ago. The army has been battling them since then. This soldier and his team were on patrol when they encountered them in some village in Gujba. As fighting ensued, the soldiers got overpowered, they were running out of ammunition, so had to retreat. But there was a problem: they couldn't get everyone on the vehicle as they had spread out very wide. As a result, a few of them still held fire while the rest made it to the vehicle. Those who did, zoomed off. Left with only a few more rounds to go, the remaining soldiers had to retreat themselves. So they fled. The bandits on realising this, gave them a chase. Of the 3 soldiers, they were able to catch one, while the other two escaped. The soldier who narrated it to me, ran into a fulani settlement where they hid him under the bed for two days. The bandits came searching, but were told nobody of the sort came there. They searched everywhere, but couldn't find the guy. Thye snooped around on the fulanis there for a day, I learnt, until they became convinced that there wasn't any soldier there. So they left. The next morning, the fulanis got the man out and showed him safe routes to the main road. You should have seen how they mutilated that soldier they caught! It's not just those two cases, I've seen and heard about several acts of kindness done by the nomads. Fulanis are vindictive, I quite agree with that. But you should agree with me that in most cases, one has to first be oppressed before they take to vindictiveness. I'm not absolving them of any blames, but people should learn to not draw conclusions without first understanding the root causes of things. Some fulanis are wreaking havoc, yes. But so much more non fulanis are doing so in the guise of fulani. Cos in the end, the blame will all be heaped on them. There are heartless fulanis, just as much as there are evil people across all nations and tribes. But for a people widely classified as "illiterates", I believe that the onus is on the literate to educate them. My shared experiences are there to make you realise that not all fulanis are criminals and inhumane as widely claimed. Thank you! Nice work, Omenka! |
![]() Keep searching, maybe one day, you'll find reprieve. Cos this is self inflicted punishment! |
Since when has the interest of the South East become so paramount to you? |
These Northern governors can talk trash eh. I wonder how we ended up with people so bereft of sense of reasoning as leaders. They lack any iota of diplomacy! ![]() So arrogant, inhuman and trashy! But bia, is it just me or FFK listed only PDP members as representing a moderate and sane disposition and who have nothing to do with the hegemonist or religious agenda of the bigots and the hardliners? Hmm |

DIKEnaWAR:As if there are greater parasites than you and your lot! Not everyone is about oil money. |
uduokirika1:@topic, The Northern governors can talk trash eh. I wonder how we ended up with people so bereft of sense of reasoning as leaders. They lack any iota of diplomacy! So arrogant, inhuman and trashy! |
omenka:You dey mind them? They always change the narrative to suit their warped opinions. Those guys are sell outs! That's assuming they still have any brains left! |
omenka:The hatred is deep-seated my brother. It's visceral! I live in Anambra, where regardless what happens, I get told, "your brother don start again"...but never have I witnessed the kind of hatred these guys spew online. I tend to wonder who these people are in real life. |
Kudos to the NA. Step by step, we shall conquer! May the good Lord protect you all! |
finalboss:Bigot! |
