Pidggin:And you think that that's what this is about? Why constitute such nuisance in the cyber space?! Each time I read your comments, they keep going low, low and low, sinking by the minute with no substance to them, whatsoever! Even by your own abysmal standards, that was a record shallow! ![]() |

modath:Same everything...except Anambra Igbos tend to think little of others. They talk down anything other than Anambras. You know, they too are wary of the domineering attitude. Nobody would want to be a subject in a land of supposed freedom fighters! |
Chiwude:Oil is not everything, sure. But it means so much! How better have your brains fared? Or you think that import-export is any rocket science? Does it take magic to buy from Onitsha and sell in Lokoja? |
President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, insisted that he was yet to be convinced that the vast majority of ordinary Nigerians would derive any tangible benefit from a devaluation of the Naira. A statement issued by special adviser to the president on media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said Buhari spoke at a meeting with members of the Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries. Buhari said that he still held the conviction which motivated his principled resistance to devaluation in his first tenure as Head of State. “when i was military Head of State, the IMF and the World Bank wanted us devalue the Naira and remove petrol subsidy but I stood my grounds for the good of Nigeria. “The Naira remained strong against the Dollar and other foreign currencies until I was removed from office in August, 1985 and it was devalued. “But how many factories were built and how many jobs were created by the devaluation? “That is why I’m still asking to be convinced today on the benefits of devaluation,” Buhari told the retired Permanent Secretaries led by Otunba Christopher Tugbobo. The president welcomed the Council’s pledge of support for the successful implementation of his administration’s Change Agenda, especially in the priority areas of improving security, curbing corruption and revitalizing the national economy. “I am glad you have rightly identified the key issues we campaigned on. “We need a dynamic bureaucracy which will not mislead us into taking wrong decisions,” the President said. The Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries was established in 2004 to serve as a platform for retired permanent secretaries to offer constructive advice to government on key policy issues. Chief Philip Asiodu, the pioneer Chairman of the Council, said that its members want the present administration to succeed because Nigeria has already lost many opportunities for progress. “We are non-partisan. The interest of Nigeria is paramount to us and we are anxious that you should succeed,” Asiodu told the President. https://www.today.ng/news/national/110743/naira-devaluation-against-common-man-buhari |
tuale4u:I tuale for you, man! Such a good thinker! |
HammerTheirPapa:In Yoruba land, you're indoctrinated from birth that your tribe is your primary affiliation. Religious affiliation is at best, secondary. I don't see how religion is the issue, as you claimed. That's assuming you're even Yoruba to begin with. They are way too sophisticated to play petty! |

![]() He runs from pillar to post Adjudges himself innocent of all charges pressed against him Faults the past government Hunts for glory Stalls trial Writes a letter to the gods Blackmail Tinubu ...... Saraki could be our very own Pandora with the box. But what trick will he pull next? Reminds me of that saying about a dying python! |
![]() It's just funny how embittered these kids are! How can a people be so full of outrage, fury and a kind of visceral hatred that goes beyond simple bigotry! Buhari's crime? Having unmitigated galls to win against their "hero"... Yikes! With brains like these, it's worthless having a degree! |
![]() Many thieves abound, but Saraki is a special kind. This man is a rare breed of evil! Think Saraki and the NASS, think the Devil, Satan and his agents! Their plans have always been diabolical. Only God knows just how many people he must have failed and plunged into a sea of agonies! I'm now beginning to think that IBB ascribed the "evil genius" title to the wrong head! |
So US finally knows? Didn't realise uncle Jona was being prophetic when he said that "America will know". Kicking the man out was one of the best decisions ever made by mankind. I no longer wake up to news that government cannot afford to pay salaries, or will have to borrow to do so. This, despite raking in the highest revenue in recent memory. We are no longer warned to brace up for hard times by some economist of doom, who despite being de facto VP and carrying all that World Bank baggage, couldn't coordinate the economy even at a time of plenty like her title suggested. People are now being shown that stealing is corruption We now have a government that means A when she says A. Like a miracle worker, our Foreign Reserves have been steadied despite the falling oil prices. We now look IMF in the eye and tell it: We won't devalue! That's some balls! |
![]() But wait o, I believe Saraki needs no helping, not after that well written open letter I saw yesterday. ![]() |
I see this as an attempt at being mischievous, but get this straight, The SS makes both human and resource contributions to the national coffers. Lots of technocrats of SS extraction have contributed their quota in getting the nation to this point in her storied journey. They are just as entrepreneurial as their Igbo counterparts. Delta state alone contributes a whole lot in this regard, not to mention the whole SS combined. They have lazy people, agreed, but what region doesn't? It may not mean much to you, but the generosity of the people alone is just as much a contribution as any. They do not think little of anyone because the nation draws from oils deposited in their backyard. It's a natural resource, fine, but how many of your folks will allow others take from that mango in their backyard? Should incase you think little of how much contributions oil alone makes to the Nigerian economy, check out these Swiss oil trading firms: Vitol and Trafigura. Vitol alone makes $270b in revenue per annum. Lots of factors in Nigeria contribute to not give us clearer picture of things. |
CFCman:In Nigeria, senators buy $90,000 worth of SUVS per head! ![]() |
One thing I know about people up North is that they don't bluff. They always match their words with actions. Heck, most times, they don't even talk at all, they just walk it. Imagine if every region held their representatives as accountable, guys would have long settled in their senses. |
![]() Where's chukwudi44 to come defend his ilk? It's going down, 'pa! GEJ and his co-wanderers really meant to cripple Nigeria. Even IBB will bow where he is present. That's why when I saw that he listed those gibberish he claimed as achievements, I felt sorry for him. I used to think that the responsibility of governing a country as Nigeria was why he was like that, little did I know his cluelessness transcends his ascension of public offices. |
Falz, everybody's guy! May you continued to soar, bro! |

![]() Imagine say, you devalue the naira, alright. Let me quickly highlight the disadvantages: The value of investors' holdings reduces. This will scare off foreign investors. There will be a sharp rise in the cost of debt repayments owed in foreign currency/ies Inflation results. Reduction in the purchasing power of the citizenry. Just to list a few. The insistence on Nigeria devaluing the naira for me is a sort of modern day colonialism that's meant to sap the poor and plunge us into deeper problems than we've found ourselves in today. "The IMF, along with the World Bank has put the global on a path of greater inequality and environmental destruction." (Per global exchange website). Ladies and gentlemen, that, in quote above, is the agenda...always has been! So, Mr president, thanks for maintaining your stance. Your resolve will be tested, but never will you cave in to suckers and conduits of western enrichment! |
initialize:Alright boss, I just copied your phone number. I will contact you. Here's hoping the earpiece and shipping price won't send the price crazily high. |
About time. They should seek alternative means of repayments. Innocent workers have borne the cross for far too long. It's bad enough that they take home peanuts, value of which has since been eroded by inflation. They shouldn't be made to bear the burden of the governors' inefficacy. |
initialize:How much do you sell the golden colored redmi note 3 pro 32gig brand? |
