In a recorded tape, Jones urged Temple members to commit "revolutionary suicide". Such an act had been planned by the Temple before and, according to Jonestown defectors, its theory was "you can go down in history, saying you chose your own way to go, and it is your commitment to refuse capitalism and in support of socialism." This happened after US Congressman Leo Ryan traveled to Guyana to inspect the Peoples Temple’s activities and the Jonestown compound. Some members of the peoples temple attacked Ryan, killing him.in the process. This prompted Jones to order his members to march outside and drink a concoction of cyanide, Valium and chloral hydrate. Surprisingly and shockingly, they all did.

Jesus christ is a man who was possessed by God Himself, that is why He say "I and the Father are ONE" why dint you quote the rest of John 14?

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t
know where you are going, so how can
we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the
truth and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through me. 7 If you really
know me, you will know[b] my Father as
well. From now on, you do know him and
have seen him.”
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father
and that will be enough for us.”
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me,
Philip, even after I have been among you
such a long time? Anyone who has seen
me has seen the Father. How can you
say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you
believe that I am in the Father, and that
the Father is in me? The words I say to
you I do not speak on my own authority.
Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who
is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I
say that I am in the Father and the
Father is in me; or at least believe on the
evidence of the works themselves. 12
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in
me will do the works I have been doing,
and they will do even greater things than
these, because I am going to the Father.
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my
name, so that the Father may be glorified
in the Son. 14 You may ask me for
anything in my name, and I will do it
Christianity Etc › Re: The Two Gods Of Islam. by malvisguy212(op): 11:03pm On May 31, 2018
malvisguy212:
Muslims often declare that Islam is a great monotheistic religion. Is this true? well, in this thread I will prove why this claim is absolutely false. all the evidence are there in the Quran and hadith.

When a Muslim is engaged in prayer (salat), it is forbidden for him to respond to anyone who interrupts his prayer. Muslims, out of respect for Allah, will not interrupt a fellow-Muslim while he is praying. However, Muhammad is an exception to this rule.He tells Muslims that even if they are performing prayers to Allah, they must respond to him when he calls them. Muhammad invoked Surah 8:24 to justify his case.

Surah 8:24: “O you who believe! Answer the call of Allah AND HIS APOSTLE when he calls you to that which gives you life; and know that Allah intervenes between man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be gathered.” (Shakir)

Carefully consider now how the Prophet of Islam clarified the meaning and the application of the above Qur’anic verse.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 226:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Mualla: While I was praying, the Prophet passed by and called me, but I did not go to him till I had finished my prayer. When I went to him, he said, “What prevented you from coming?” I said, “I was praying.” He said, “Didn’t Allah say” “O you who believe GIVE YOUR RESPONSE TO Allah and to His APOSTLE.” (Surah 8:24)

LET US ANALYZE THIS QUR'ANIC VERSE WITH THE ABOVE HADITH.
Muslims are required to honor Muhammad above Allah. why did I say this ? it may appear to Muslims that Muhammad was only demanding his right but there is MORE to this. It is important to note that each time Muhammad interrupts the prayer of a Muslim, he simultaneously interrupts Allah from receiving the prayer of that Muslim. This means that Muhammad has the authority to interrupt even Allah from receiving the prayers of his worshipers. Between Allah and Muhammad, Muslims are specifically commanded to give their priority to Muhammad even when it involves something as sacred as their worship of Allah. Is this not a subtle form of polytheism? Does not this exalt Muhammad to a position equal or even greater than Allah?

The Shahada is the Islamic profession of faith. It is the first and most important of the Five Pillars of Islam. It is a testimony of the Islamic Faith which declares:
“There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.” Anyone who does not recite the
Shahada is not a Muslim. However, a Muslim cannot be a Muslim by invoking the name of Allah only when reciting the Shahada. For his Shahada to be legitimate, it is absolutely necessary for the Muslim to include the name of Muhammad. Believing in Allah alone is not enough to be a Muslim. A Muslim must also believe in Muhammad:
Surah 49:15: The believers are only those who believe in Allah and HIS MESSENGER . (Shakir)

Believing only in the teachings of Allah with the exclusion of the teachings of Muhammad will result in the loss of many essential details that are vital for the salvation of Muslims. This is because the Qur’an does not contain all the regulations that are required of a Muslim to live out his faith. Therefore, a devout Muslim must also know and obey the Sunnah (sayings and deeds) of Muhammad in order to follow Islam. A Muslim cannot attain Paradise if he does not believe in the Sunnah of Muhammad. Thus, the teachings of Muhammad are elevated to the same intensity as the teachings of Allah in the Qur’an. In fact, to escape the fires of Hell, a Muslim must obey both Allah and Muhammad.

Surah 4:14: And whoever disobeys Allah and HIS MESSENGER and goes beyond His limits, He will cause him to enter fire to abide in it, and he shall have an abasing chastisement. (Shakir)

yes, I know Muslims will deny this , and even insult me , However, the reality belies their claim. In actual practice, Muslims merge the words of Allah with the words of a man. And by recognizing them both as equally binding for their salvation, Muslims elevate Muhammad to the status of Allah. If the teachings of Muhammad are recorded in the Qur’an, then there is no valid reason to object. However, since his teachings are not included in the Qur’an, it shows that Muslims are actually required to submit to teachings based on two different sources.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did Allah Curse Muhammad ? by malvisguy212(op): 11:02pm On May 31, 2018
malvisguy212:
How did Muhammad die? The answer can be found in early Islamic sources.Islamic sources testify that Muhammad died an agonizing death as a result of Allah’s curse on him. Islamic sources confirm that Muhammad was executed by Allah. If you as a Muslim find this unbelievable, we encourage you to read this article carefully. Your salvation may depend on it.

Sunan Abu Dawud, Volume 5, Hadith 4512:
“A Jewish woman in Khaibar gave him a roasted sheep that she had poisoned, and the Messenger of Allah ate from it, as did the people. He said: ‘Lift up your hands (meaning, stop eating), for it has told me that it is poisoned. Bishr bin A1-Barã’ bin Ma’rur AlAnsãrI died (of that poison), and he sent word to the Jewish woman: asking: ‘What made you do what you did?’ She said: If you were a Prophet it would not harm you, and if you were a king the people would have been rid of you.’ The Messenger of Allah ordered that she be killed, then he said during his final illness: ‘I continued to feel pain because of the morsel I ate at Khaibar, BUT NOW IT HAS CUT OFF MY AORTA.” (Hasan )

It is important for Muslims to take careful note of the words of Muhammad. He said: “I continued to feel pain because of the morsel that I ate at Khaibar, but now it has cut off my aorta.” The aorta is also known as the life artery .

Let us now examine another Hadith. Umm Mubashshir was the mother of Bishr who died shortly after eating the poisonous meat at Khaibar with Muhammad. When Muhammad was sick and dying, Umm Mubashshir visited him and asked: “O Messenger of Allah, what do you think is the cause of your illness?” Take careful note of Muhammad’s reply.

Sunan Abu Dawud, Volume 5, Hadith 4513:
Umm Mubashshir said to the Prophet during his final illness: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what do you think is the cause of your illness? I cannot think of anything that caused my son’s illness except the poisoned sheep that he ate with you at Khaibar.’ The Prophet said: And I do not think that there is anything wrong with me except that, and
now it has cut off my aorta.’” (Sahih )

Once again Muhammad testified that his aorta has been cut off by the poison he ate at Khaibar . Thus, he repeatedly confirmed
that he is dying because of the effects of that poison.

The startling fact is that Muhammad died exactly the way Allah said he would kill him if he fabricated a lie. Lets read the Qur’anic verses:

Surah 69:44-46: And if Muhammad had made up about Us some false sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand; Then We would have cut from him the aorta. (Sahih International)

The above Qur’anic verse need no explanation. Its meaning is crystal clear. Anyone reading these verse can easily understand them. The only ones who will not understand the clear meaning of these Qur’anic verses are the Muslims. From infancy the Muslim mind has been preconditioned not to see any evidences which discriminates their Prophet. not even if these evidences originate from their own sources.
What did Allah say he will do to Muhammad if he fabricates a false revelation?

“We would cut off his aorta.”

And what did Muhammad say that the poison did to him?

“It has cut off my aorta.”

Can anything be more clearer than this? The Qur’an clearly states that Allah will execute Muhammad by cutting off his aorta if he fabricates a false revelation. And as Muhammad was nearing death, he repeatedly admitted:

“At this very moment I feel my aorta being severed because of the food I ate at Khaibar.”

He died exactly in the manner prescribed in the Qur’an if he fabricates a false revelation.there are hundred way ,Allah could have chosen another way and not this.
Christianity Etc › Re: Stars Falling From the Sky ? by malvisguy212: 10:58pm On May 31, 2018
dalaman:
So you understand the bible better then the people that translated it to English abi? Keep telling lies for Jesus.

It's very clear that the writers of the bible do NOT know what the stars are. They thought the stars were just tiny dots in the sky. The stated in many places that the stars will fall into the earth.

Example :

Rev 6:13 - And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Rev 6:15 - And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Here in Revelations it's talks about the stars of the heaven falling into the earth and people going around to hide. How can stars fall into the earth and people will go out and be hiding? Stars ooo, all of which are many many thousand of times bigger than the earth .

Here again he says:

Rev 12:4 - And his tail drew the third of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

A third of the stars being thrown into the earth abi? Interesting mythology.
the falling of stars onto the Earth
Revelation 6:13-14 is talking about an event yet to come, and as such cannot be proven or disproved from science. In fact the book indicates that the events are not natural, but supernatural. To say that they describe something that is not naturally possible is to state what the book already tells us.

Revelation is the book of the Bible, which the apostle John received in a vision. As in many visions given to men by God, the receiver was not always able to explain or understand exactly what he saw. The description of the events are those as perceived by John.

The Greek word, astayr , besides being translated "star" can also have the meaning "comet," "meteor" or "asteroid", since there is no Greek word having this meaning. Even our English language refers to meteorites as "falling stars." The description of the "star" Wormwood seems to be that of a large meteorite or comet.

There are countless Ayah that i can share with you on the topic. Here are a few

1. Indeed, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; and forbids indecency, and manifest evil, and wrongful transgression. He admonished you that you may take heed. (Al Quran 16:91)

2.And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways. And Indeed, Allah is with those who are of service to others. (Al Quran 29:70)

Indeed, Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good. (Al Quran 16:129)

3. The reward of goodness is nothing but goodness. (Al Quran 55:61)

4. O ye people! fear your Lord, Who created you from a single soul and created therefrom its mate, and from them twain spread many men and women; and fear Allah, in Whose name you appeal to one another, and be mindful of your duty to Allah, particularly respecting ties of relationship. Verily, Allah watches over you. (Al Quran 4:2)

5. 121-122. And good and evil are not alike. Repel evil with that which is best. And lo, he between whom and thyself was enmity will become as though he were a warm friend. But none is granted it save those who are steadfast; and none is granted it save those who possess a large share of good. (Al Quran 41:35-36)

In the very beginning of every chapter or Sura of the Holy Quran, except one, we read, “In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.”

Allah is not only the Gracious and the Merciful, but, also wants humanity to be gracious and merciful, to each other, in their spheres and this can be inferred from many verses of the Holy Quran.

As this verse is in the beginning of 113 chapters, except for Sura Taubah and in the middle of one Sura, it really sky rockets my count of verses here.

7-120. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

Let me make a suggestion here, now, that we have 120 instructions from the All Knowing God, to be kind, merciful and compassionate.

Anyone, who has conscious or unconscious desire to benefit from political Islam, should first try this repeated teaching of being compassionate for a few decades. May be it will assuage his or her political ambition and bring him or her to true teachings of Islam.

“@The_MuslimTimes: Two Hundred Verses about Compassionate Living in the Quranhttp:///FX9gdneToi pic.twitter.com/VtdUH1zTDx”

The Holy Quran suggests compassion and kindness to be a recipe to turn ones enemies into bosom friends:

121-122. And good and evil are not alike. Repel evil with that which is best. And lo, he between whom and thyself was enmity will become as though he were a warm friend. But none is granted it save those who are steadfast; and none is granted it save those who possess a large share of good. (Al Quran 41:35-36)

Now, I am going to catalog all occurrences of the word “Mohsin,” in Arabic, in the Quran, in singular or plural form, as it means, one who does good and is of service to others. Two of these occurrences have already been counted above and I will not repeat those here:

123. It shall be no sin for you if you divorce women while you have not touched them, nor settled for them a dowry. But provide for them — the rich man according to his means and the poor man according to his means — a provision in a becoming manner, an obligation upon the virtuous. (Al Quran 2:237)

124. Those who spend in prosperity and adversity, and those who suppress anger and pardon men; and Allah loves those who do good. (Al Quran 3:135)

125. So Allah gave them the reward of this world, as also an excellent reward of the next; and Allah loves those who do good. (Al Quran 3:149)

126. And who is better in faith than he who submits himself to Allah, and he is a doer of good, and follows the religion of Abraham, the upright? And Allah took Abraham for a special friend. (Al Quran 4:126)

127. So, because of their breaking their covenant, We have cursed them, and have hardened their hearts. They pervert the words from their proper places and have forgotten a good part of that with which they were exhorted. And thou wilt not cease to discover treachery on their part, except in a few of them. So pardon them and turn away from them. Surely, Allah loves those who do good. (Al Quran 5:14)

128. So Allah rewarded them, for what they said, with Gardens beneath which streams flow. Therein shall they abide; and that is the reward of those who do good. (Al Quran 5:86)

129. On those who believe and do good works there shall be no sin for what they eat, provided they fear God and believe and do good works, and again fear God and believe, yet again fear God and do good. And Allah loves those who do good. (Al Quran 5:94)

130. And We gave him Isaac and Jacob; each did We guide aright, and Noah did We guide aright aforetime, and of his progeny, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 6:85)

131. And remember the time when We said: “Enter this village and eat therefrom — wherever you will — plentifully; and enter the gate submissively and say: ‘God! forgive us our sins.’ We shall forgive you your sins and We shall give increase to those who do good. (Al Quran 2:59)

132. And create not disorder in the earth after it has been set in order, and call upon Him in fear and hope. Surely, the mercy of Allah is nigh unto those who do good. (Al Quran 7:57)

133. And when it was said to them, “Dwell in this town and eat therefrom wherever you will, and say, ‘God! lighten our burden,’ and enter the gate in humility, We shall forgive you your sins, and surely We shall give increase to those who do good.” (Al Quran 7:162)

134. No blame lies on the weak, nor on the sick, nor on those who find naught to spend, if they are sincere to Allah and His Messenger. There is no cause of reproach against those who do good deeds; and Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. (Al Quran 9:91)

135. It was not proper for the people of Medina and those around them from among the Arabs of the desert that they should have remained behind the Messenger of Allah or that they should have preferred their own lives to his. That is because there distresses them neither thirst nor fatigue nor hunger in the way of Allah, nor do they tread a track which enrages the disbelievers, nor do they cause an enemy any injury whatsoever, but there is written down for them a good work on account of it. Surely, Allah suffers not the reward of those who do good to be lost. (Al Quran 9:120)

136. And be thou steadfast; for surely, Allah suffers not the reward of the righteous to perish. (Al Quran 11:116)

137. And when he attained his age of full strength, We granted him judgment and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good. (Al Quran 12:23)

138. And with him there entered the prison two young men. One of them said, ‘I saw myself in a dream pressing wine.’ And the other said, ‘I saw myself in a dream carrying upon my head bread of which the birds are eating. Inform us of the interpretation thereof; for we see thee to be of the righteous.’ (Al Quran 12:37)

139. And thus did We establish Joseph in the land. He dwelt therein wherever he pleased. We bestow Our mercy on whomsoever We please, and We suffer not the reward of the righteous to perish. (Al Quran 12:57)

140. They said, ‘O exalted one, he has a very aged father, so take one of us in his stead; for we see thee to be of those who do good.’ (Al Quran 12:79)

141. They replied, ‘Art thou Joseph?’ He said, ‘Yes, I am Joseph and this is my brother. Allah has indeed been gracious to us. Verily, whoso is righteous and is steadfast — Allah will never suffer the reward of the good to be lost.’ (Al Quran 12:91)

142. Their flesh reaches not Allah, nor does their blood, but it is your righteousness that reaches Him. Thus has He subjected them to you, that you may glorify Allah for His guiding you. And give glad tidings to those who do good. (Al Quran 22:38)

143. And when he reached his age of full strength and attained maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge; and thus do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 28:15)

144. A guidance and a mercy for those who do good. (Al Quran 31:4)

145. And he who submits himself completely to Allah, and is a doer of good, he has surely grasped a strong handle. And with Allah rests the end of all affairs. (Al Quran 31:23)

146. ‘But if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the Home of the Hereafter, then truly Allah has prepared for those of you who do good a great reward.’ (Al Quran 33:30)

147. Thus indeed do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 37:81)

148. ‘Thou hast indeed fulfilled the dream.’ Thus indeed do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 37:106)

149. Thus do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 37:111)

150. And We bestowed blessings on him and Isaac. And among their progeny are some who do good and others who clearly wrong themselves. (Al Quran 37:114)

151. Thus indeed do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 37:122)

152. Thus indeed do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 37:132)

153. They will have with their Lord whatever they desire; that is the reward of those who do good. (Al Quran 39:35)

154. “Or lest it should say, when it sees the punishment, ‘Would that there were for me a return to the world, I would then be among those who do good!’” (Al Quran 39:59)

155. And before it there was the Book of Moses, a guide and a mercy; and this is a Book in the Arabic language fulfilling previous prophecies, that it may warn those who do wrong; and as glad tidings to those who do good. (Al Quran 46:13)

156. Receiving what their Lord will give them; for they used to do good before that. (Al Quran 51:17)

157. Thus surely do We reward those who do good. (Al Quran 77:45)

158. Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve. (Al Quran 2:113)

159. And spend for the cause of Allah, and cast not yourselves into ruin with your own hands, and do good; surely, Allah loves those who do good. (Al Quran 2:196)
all the verses you provide only talk about love for the pious Muslims. simple question is this, provide one verse were Allah is said to love the unbelievers, just like the ones we read in Bible.

Holy Qur'an 41:34
"Nor can goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better (than good): Then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!"
Allah is said to love those who do good deeds(2:195),those who are pure(2:222), those who are righteous (9:7),and those who fight in his cause (61:4), the Qur’an is equally clear that Allah has no love for transgressors (2:190), ungrateful sinners (2:276), the unjust (3:57), or the proud (4:36). Even more significantly, the Qur’an states that Allah does not love non-Muslims:
Qur’an 3:31-32—Say [O Muhammad]: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. Say: Obey Allah and the Apostle; but if they turn
back, then surely Allah DOES NOT LOVE THE UNBELIEVERS .
now, compared the above quranic verse with this biblical verses :
Proverbs 25:21
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to
drink.
Luke 6:27
"But to you who are listening I say: Love
your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Luke 6:28
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

This is the kind of reasoning and logic that makes y'all look and sound dumb. Your logic is riddled with fallacies that I can't help but smh.

Even if we accept your claim, it would only prove that something caused the Big Bang and that's it. It wouldn't prove that it's a god/gods or that it's a being, or that it's conscious or still exists or that it impregnated a Virgin and any of those nonsense you guys feed your delusion with.
the different is that you atheist describe Him as a material being, which is wrong.

Human intelligence is a recipe to existential crisis. We not only able to perceive the world around us, we are also capable of questions regarding the universe and existence herself.

One question that is at the pinnacle of our enquiry is Why exactly does anything exist at all?

Very many approaches we have towards answering this questions may lead us towards different method of thinking and worldview, but one thing neither of us can deny is: The universe exists

Whether as a hologram
objective matter
matrix

what ever your perception about the universe is, the end point is; it exists.

And this begs the question; Why?

Why does something exist rather than nothing?

Theologically, the natural answer to this question is, God.
From conventional religious world view the universe was created out of nothing (Ex nihilo) by God.

But then the question we are addressing is; Why is there something instead of nothing?
And if God is the answer then obviously God is also something and thus if we must pursue this question courageously we must ask the next question.

Why is there God (something) rather than nothing?
you know what baffle me? the atheist concept of God, why you guys portray Him as material ,limited and contained within the confine of the universe........ isn't that a self defeating concept of God to begin with? the Christian perspective has always been 1 king 8:27:
" But will God indeed dwell on the earth? the heaven cannot contain thee"
