I think his point is that like detergent where you have to purchase it and use it to wash your clothes, also with Christ you have to actively put it to use by accepting the sacrifice.

What he missed out is the fact that we didn't have to actively accept the Sin of Adam before we all supposedly became tainted by sin. So why must we actively accept the sacrifice of Jesus? As Adam's tainting was automatic why can't Christ's sacrifice be automatic too.

Meanwhile the man with a bacterial infection does not have to actively accept the power of antibiotics injection before it can heal him.

Justification is the concept that provides
our belief with the assuredness of its
truth. People believe things for reasons,
which provide the warrant for their belief.Without these reasons,you do not have knowledge of what you believe. If a belief is JUSTIFIED, then we have the right to believe it. Atheists got it wrong, there view was; " since you cannot know something with 100% certainty, you cannot obtain the truth (or knowledge), you just have to believe ,God did it". The bible say otherwise, in Isaiah 1:18 God is calling human to "come and let us REASON together"

I have to choose to be preoccupied with something to change my belief or increase my certainty in that belief .Faith in the biblical sense means trust or confidence, confident in what we know to be TRUE. You do not have to be 100% certain in a belief for it to count as knowledge.

The bible say faith alone cannot save , why? because what you have faith in
must be TRUE, Biblical faith is accurate knowledge combined with ACTIVE TRUST Faith and knowledge are not opposed to each other. So Trusting faith alone does NOT save, but instead what is trusted MUST be true.

The faith Jesus had was not an absence of knowledge, but was based upon an intimate knowledge of his Father. We too can gain knowledge to make our faith richer.

statements in the first place, so God did not say anything.
2. Contradicting the statements said to have
been spoken by God.
3. Seeking equality with God by replacing God
with the self.

delusions: 1) absolute autonomy being free to
do as they please, and 2) the lack of ultimate

Every religion story is questionable I am sure you do not believe in the quran,Torah,Talmud but your bible and you can question their faith with yours so do not be angry when people of different religions do same.
From my understanding of the bible the Roman catholic church had a big role to play from the council of nicea to that of Trent and also the compilation of these books that are in the bible.
I am not an atheist,I rather identify with agnostic theism and I am liberal.
I used to read the bible back then and even as a Christian I never forced my beliefs down the throats of others,I move with everyone my free spirit agrees with.
The book did not make sense in some ways then I took my time and started asking questions.
I would not tell you to doubt your faith if your God is working for you believe him and let the God's of other religions work for others.

We are all entitled to have different opinions which is why I don't go about talking about religion or comment in the religion section.
As for religious scientist I can't say how many but if you are a scientist it could be obvious you would question the teachings of your religion.
A non religious scientist would continue to push for the theory of evolution unlike a religious one.
The age of enlightenment is what Africans need(my opinion).
