Of Amnesty Program


Youths under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Apc Youth Wing (DIYW) have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint APC Chieftain and Delta Ijaw leader , High Chief Michael Johnny to be its preferred candidate to man the Amnesty Program .

In a statement made available to Igbere TV, the group urged President Buhari to make an imminent announcement on the position of the programme, stating every state in the Niger Delta have all handled the office except for a Deltan to be appointed.


The group noted that. APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Present Minister For State of petroleum Chief Timipre Sylva APC leader, Honourable Minister Of Transportation His Excellency Rotimi Amechi of River State and top political associates of APC can distinctively reveal on a fair judgement the role and sacrifice Johnny have been in ensuring the reelection of President Buhari for a second term in office.

The Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, has revealed that its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu may lead "Biafra Delegation" to the United Nations Assembly in New York, USA.


In a statement made available to Igbere TV on Monday, Media and Publicity Secretary of the group, said
regarding the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, IPOB has both direct and indirect representations for the forthcoming events in the US.


According to the group, "Our people are on the ground. If the right conditions which we are waiting for are put in place, our leader will personally lead our people, otherwise it would be on a later date which would be duly announced."

The statement reads,

"We understand and respect the legitimate yearning of the public to know what transpired between IPOB delegation to the United Nations in Geneva led by our able leader and prophet Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the staff of the various agencies of the UN we met and had fruitful discussions with. Without divulging very sensitive details that may undermine confidence and future discussions such as the one we just had, it will be prudent to say at this time that the meetings went very well and in some instances surpassed our expectations."

"Unemployment Becoming Vicious Disease Under Buhari Regime" - Ngige

The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, has said the country is on the verge of being consumed by social unrest due to increasing rate of employment in the country, Igbere TV reports.

Ngige, who spoke in Enugu at the weekend, stated that Nigeria would become like Venezuela if the country does not begin to tackle unemployment immediately.

The minister highlighted insecurity and unemployment as major symptoms
of a failing country noting that the two plagues Nigeria.

He said, “So, unemployment is growing into a big cankerworm. It is growing into a very vicious disease condition that has given rise to a lot of anti-social behaviours.

“The symptoms are there. Boko Haram is a symptom of unemployment in Nigeria. IPOB is a symptom of unemployment and desperation and people getting frustrated. Same goes for banditry in the North-West. Same
goes for kidnapping all over the country.

Avengers – the destruction of oil pipelines, OPC – all these are symptoms of very serious
underlying disease condition called unemployment.

“All arsenals, everything will be put into place, so that we can fight unemployment. Otherwise, it will consume everybody. It will consume me
and you.

“It is already showing when you are in traffic and people are knocking on your car window to ask you to give them your phone. If you don’t
give them, they will attack you. "That is the big malaise."

Ngige, however, stated that President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is tackling the two issues and would fashion a way out.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Monday, threatens PUNCH’s State House Correspondent, Mr John Ameh, Igbere TV has learnt.

Igbere TV gathered that Ameh and other journalists were at the Press Gallery of the Presidential Villa, Abuja when Adesina, a former President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, walked in and, without exchanging courtesies, began to scream and gesticulate aggressively at our correspondent in the full glare of his colleagues.

“What was that rubbish you people wrote on Saturday? Adesina asked, referencing a story published by the PUNCH, on Saturday.

“Did you say that Mr President did not approve the statement? Let me tell you, if you want to last here, you had better be careful!”

The presidential aide then walked away before Punch Newspaper correspondent could utter a word in response.

Igbere TV gathered that Adesina had also threatened to bar members of the State House Press Corps from ‘open coverage’ of the President’s events.

Sen. Kalu Lauds President Buhari Over Inauguration Of Economic Advisory Council

Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Orji Kalu, on Monday, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for inaugurating an Economic Advisory Council (EAC) chaired by Professor Doyin Salami, Igbere TV reports.


While applauding President Buhari’s efforts in fixing the nation's economy, Kanu expressed confidence in the membership of the council.

The former governor noted that the members of the team are people with integrity and vast experience in their respective fields.


While charging the new team to work collectively with the organised private sector (OPS), relevant government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), the academia and other stakeholders in a bid to retool the economy, Kalu stressed that government must sustain pragmatic programmes and policies that will enhance the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) in the country.


The former governor, who is a big player in the Nigerian economy, emphasized the imperative of pragmatic monetary and fiscal policies in promoting sustainable development.

In a statement signed by his media office and made available to Igbere TV on Monday, Kalu stated that with the inauguration of the EAC, the President has demonstrated his determination to build a strong and robust economy.

He said, " the constitution of an Economic Advisory Council (EAC) by President Buhari is a welcome and timely development.

"The EAC will play a crucial role in complementing the efforts of the President in fixing Nigeria's economy.

" The government must drive policies that will create a conducive business atmosphere for local and foreign investors.

"The team must review the current economic policies in a bid to stimulate growth and development".

The former governor while calling on government to grant concessions inform of tax holidays, import duty waivers and export promotion and expansion grants to the agricultural, manufacturing and industrial sectors, noting that the economic base of the country must be diversified for national well being.


Kalu, who wished the newly constituted team success in their national assignment, urged the Organised Private Sector (OPS) and other stakeholders to support the President in its determination to reposition the country.

Finally, President Buhari Reacts To Attack On Saudi Arabia

Following drone attacks yesterday on the refinery plants at Khurais and Abqaiq, President Muhammadu Buhari has said the Federal Republic of Nigeria stands in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Igbere TV reports.

President Buhari made this known in a statement by Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity.


“We in Nigeria once experienced attacks on our own oil facilities. Those who sought, by doing so, to undermine governments of the day did not succeed then – nor at any time.

“The identities of those who sent the drones to attack the Saudi refineries, and from where, may not yet be known.



“Still, these attacks similarly represent economic warfare aimed at damaging a government, but, in reality, always and only damaging innocent citizens’ livelihoods: those with no place, nor cause, to be harmed,” the President said.

“The attackers of Saudi Arabia will win no friends in the international community for their actions – whoever they may be, and however certain they be in their cause,” the Nigerian leader added.

Biafra : "Why We Invaded Nnamdi Kanu's House" - Police


The Abia State Police Command has revealed why its officers invaded the house of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in Abia State.


Igbere TV had reported that Kanu alleged that some suspected Fulani Assassins were currently loitering in front of his house in Isiama-Afaraukwu, Abia State.

He said the Fulani Assassins are in white Toyota Hilux and urged them to retrace their steps.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV on Monday, signed by SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the police stated that its officers invaded Kanu's house because of reports that IPOB members wanted to converge there for protest.

The police further said that they do not know if Kanu's father is at home or not.

The police noted that no amount of blackmail or media propaganda would deter them from carrying out their duty.

They, therefore, urge the general public to go about their normal businesses.

Tribunal: 'Mind Your Utterances' - Kalu Cautions Supporters , Associates

Following the outcome of the National and State Assembly Election Petition Panel sitting in Umuahia, Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Kalu has called on politicians to be cautious of their utterances for the sake of nation building, Igbere TV reports.

Speaking against the backdrop of the call for supplementary election in some polling units in Abia North Senatorial District by the National and State Assembly Election Petition Panel sitting in Umuahia, Kalu urged his political associates, followers, members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to make derogatory statements against any member of the Three-man panel led by Justice Cornelius Akintayo.

Igbere TV reports that Sen. Kalu stressed that the judiciary must be accorded due respect by Nigerians regardless of party affiliation, adding that the Appellate court, will correct the undoing of the tribunal.

Addressing a group of Abuja based professionals of Abia state origin on Sunday, Kalu emphasized that the rule of law must be respected at all times, adding that the result of the February 23, 2019 national assembly election in Abia North Senatorial District is a clear testament to his popularity and goodwill among the people.

He said, " my victory in the February 23, 2019 national assembly poll was landslide beating my closet rival, Mao Ohaubunwa of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) with over 10,000 votes.

" I am aware of the controversies the ruling of the panel has generated.

"However, I am appealing to our people to thread with caution for the sake of peace and harmony.

" As a strong advocate of the rule of law, I have confidence in the judiciary.

"Despite the condemnation of the tribunal ruling in many quarters , I am optimistic that the Appellate court will do the needful to correct the anormaly."

The former governor, who stressed that the judiciary is a vital component of the country, stated that the future of Nigeria's democracy is dependent on the judicial process, adding no nation can attain greatness without respect for the rule of law.

DANGER : Truck Blocks Road Leading To Bende & Uzoakoli, Causes Commotion(Photos)

A Truck with plate number, KGE34XA which allegedly belongs to SETRACO has blocked the major road in Isiugba, Uzo Okafia, which leads to Bende and Uzoakoli, in Abia State, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV gathered that the truck has blocked the road for almost two months without the owner of the truck coming to remove it.

Speaking with Igbere TV correspondent over the incident, a villager who doesn't want his mentioned said the truck is causing commotion because of the bad situation of the road.

He revealed that apart from the truck blocking the road, that there is an erosion which is eating the major road deeply.

He pleaded with Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to remove the truck if the owner doesn't want to remove it before it will cause disaster.

He said : "This is getting to two months that the truck has been packing here. We don't know the owner either do we know the motive of the person blocking the road with the truck "

"This road is too small for the person to stop his truck at the middle of this road because it may cause accident".

"If you look at the back of this vehicle, you will see how erosion is destroying the road".

"We are pleading with Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to come and remove the truck since the owner doesn't want to remove it.", he added.

He noted that if Abia State government doesn't act fast, the truck might cause serious accident because of the deplorable condition of the road.

Gov. Umahi Commences Construction Of Old Abakaliki-Enugu Road(Photos)

Ebonyi State Governor, David Nweze Umahi has commenced the construction of Old Abakaliki-Enugu Road, Igbere TV reports.

Speaking with Igbere TV correspondent during the inspection, Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze said the road was in a very bad shape after the Asphalt coating done by previous administration before Umahi came into office.


He noted that students, lecturers and the general road users who ply the road were worried as it seems that the road was forgotten not until the day that the transformation governor visited the permanent site campus of the University and made promise to construct the road.

He assured that the road will soon be completed.


He said : “Observers have maintained that the Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE is the only governor who has the habit of fulfilling all his promises without leaving any stone unturned neither is he sentimental. It has been gathered that all promises he made during his first term were fulfilled even before he rounded off his first two years as the governor.”

” I am just leaving the site of the road that primarily connects Abakaliki with Ishieke Campus/Permanent site of Ebonyi State University which was hitherto the old Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway. The road was in a very bad shape after the Asphalt coating before this administration which ended up making the road to retain the worse in the entire state.”

Gov. Umahi Changing The Narrative Of Ebonyi State(Photos)

Ebonyi State Governor, David Nweze Umahi is currently changing the narrative of the entire state.

It is imperative to note that before the coming of Umahi, Ebonyi was seen as the dust of the nation but now, the state is being referred as ‘small London’.

Indeed, the rejected stone has now become the cornerstone.


This is because of the numerous projects initiated by Umahi ever since he assumed office.

It is imperative to note that it is Gov. Umahi that first started building roads with concretes which has earned him many nicknames, ‘Master of infrastructure, Master of Good Roads, Workerholic Governor’ among others.

In Nigeria, many states are begging Ebonyians to loan them Gov. Umahi to govern them for few months as if we are talking football. This might sound funny, but that’s the truth.

In terms of empowerment, Umahi has empowered many Ebonyians through various programmes initiated by him.

It is pertinent to note that Umahi’s first term was not just characterised by concrete or rigid pavement roads, overhead bridges, construction of public buildings, classroom blocks, markets, hospitals, street lights.

The governor also ran an unparalleled empowerment programme.

However, Umahi is not yet done with Ebonyi State with his good works in trying to change the narrative of the state entirely.

Some of the projects being done by the governor include,

1)Ebonyi Ring Roads

2)Building of New International Airport

3)Industrial Clusters

4)Biomass Gasification Power Project

5)Ebonyi Waste Recycling Plan

6)Storage Facilities

7)Construction of New Stadium

Indeed, Ebonyi is gradually turning to a small London.

And Umahi is indeed changing the narrative of Ebonyi State.
