Graphic Photos Of Lady & Boyfriend Killed By Cultists In Ebonyi IGBERE TV has obtained graphic photos of a lady identified as Chinenye and her boyfriend, Chinedu Nwode who were killed by suspected cultists at Oriuzor community in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi state on Sunday, November 29. IGBERE TV gathered that the killing followed a renewed clash between two rival cults in the state, the Baggers and Aye confraternities. The lady and her boyfriend were returning from a child dedication in Oriuzor to Onueke when they were shot dead. The killing was said to have angered some persons suspected to be members of the Aye Confraternity, who in turn killed one Chikwado Nweke and another man at Onueke community in the same local government. Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, December 2, condemned the spate of unreported cult killings in the area. “This is bad and I don’t know why these things are more often heard of in this area. This is condemnable and it’s unfortunate that those who lost their loved ones to these crises have not come up to identify themselves. How can these things be happening in that place and these are brothers and they are just killing themselves,” said Odah. “On hearing this ugly news, the Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Philip Maku, deployed men of the command in the area to ensure that more lives are not lost. The police are investigating the matter and soon, we will tell you what really happened.” she added. Source : https://igberetvnews.com/1373870/graphic-photos-lady-boyfriend-killed-cultists-ebonyi/

EnuguEndSARS stray bullet saga: No governor orders the military – Army officer *We were mobilized to protect school girls from hoodlums, criminals *Miscreants killed, burnt policemen, stations, others One of the soldiers mobilized by the military to protect the innocent female students at Queens School Enugu, last Saturday, following a security report that armed hoodlums and criminals parading themselves as #EnuguSARS protesters wanted to invade the school in search of COVID-19 palliatives, has opened up on what transpired, contrary to the stories being peddled on the social media, IGBERE TV reports. The soldier who spoke to our correspondent in confidence disclosed that there was no directive from anybody, as being mischievously peddled on social media, to shoot or kill the hoodlums and criminals who in their numbers, some with weapons, attempted to overpower the security agencies and forcefully invade the school, where the young girls are staying. The military officer stated categorically that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi did not give them any directive, explaining that “what happened was a case of stray bullet which the hoodlums themselves have questions to answer “because they had dangerous weapons like guns as they were forcefully approaching us to overpower us and go into that school where these girls we were ask to protect were”. It would be recalled that the principal of Queens School Enugu, Mrs. Ada Nweke, had in a video, sent SOS to the security agencies to come to the rescue of the traumatized girls following the forceful attempt by the hoodlums and criminals to invade the school. Mrs. Nweke who stated that there were no COVID-19 palliatives still in the school as they had been distributed to the 17 Local Government Areas in August, stressed that “we don’t want what happened to the Chibok girls to happen to these students”. Prior to the alarm raised by the principal, it was widely reported that the hoodlums and criminals’ aim was to invade the school, in the disguise of #EndSARS protest looking for palliatives, and then rape and kidnap the female students similarly to what happened to the Chibok girls. When asked who then directed them to mobilize to the school, the officer said: “This question has a straight answer. The world knows where we take directives from. The military just like other security agencies are exclusively under the control of the federal government and we take instructions from our heads. “So I don’t know what you mean whether it was the governor that directed us or not. We know who directs us, and even you here asking me this kind of question know too. No governor directs the military or its officers. Please take this message home and stop asking such questions”. On the 24-hour curfew imposed, the soldier pointed out that “it was unfortunate that these people refused to stay at home and obey the curfew imposed by the state government. They saw us pleading with them to go home but they kept forcing their way to overpower us. “Are you not aware that these miscreants killed two policemen in this state and burnt one in the process of this protest? They burnt police stations, looted and destroyed a lot of properties belonging to innocent people. “What have you said about it? Did you report it? Did you see it circulated anywhere on social media by those peddling these lies against the governor and security agencies. Or are security personnel not human beings like you? “So if a security man is killed by hoodlums it is not news worthy to be spread on this una social media? “Please go and advise these youths to stop exposing themselves to dangers because as I am talking to you here, a directive has come from the Presidency again that both the military and police should mobilize across the country to stop these lootings, killings and destruction of public and private property. “Go and warn them before they start accusing the state governors or other persons”. Sen. Orji Kalu Represents Senate President, Lawan At Electricity Power Summit (Photos) The Senate, on Wednesday, reinstated its commitment at ensuring the improvement in the Nation’s power sector through massive rural electrification. The Senate made this known in Abuja during the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) workshop held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja. IGBERE TV reports that in an opening remark delivered by the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who represented the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan at the workshop , commended the agency’s initiative for engaging the national assembly in its activities. Senator Lawan, expressed that the move would forster synergy between the legislative and the executive arm of Government for effective service delivery to the nation. He said ” This initiative is most welcomed considering your collaboration with the National Assembly, on how best to deliver on your mandate. It underscores the point we have been making about fostering a synergy between arms and agencies of government, not only for a better understanding of our activities but also for effective service delivery, for the good of our nation. Your interest in engaging with the National Assembly through our relevant committees is a step in the right direction. It is an inroad to the larger house, and a way to grow knowledge on your mission and vision before legislators. The Senate also pointed out that despite the challenges in the nation’s power sector; the current administration won’t relent in its efforts at providing electricity infrastructure in the entire country. It should also help in stimulating information on your schedules ahead of the imminent commencement of work on the 2021 Budget. This involvement and inclusivity is about collaboration and listening to a range of thoughts and notions on the decisions we would make. It is the reason our doors are always open for cooperation for enhanced decision, aside from reflecting our diverse backgrounds and exposures. In engaging the National Assembly, the electrification agency has stepped on the path of success, trusting in the eventual productivity of the workshop. Your agency is somewhat saddled with the overreaching task of ensuring the overall electrification of Nigeria, through integrating rural areas, and more. The essence of this again underlines the importance of electricity in national development. Without power, economic activities are bound to be stagnated. Power is therefore the pivot around which economic and several other activities revolve. Because of these, conversations around the delivery of power would have to be sustained until we arrive at the desired destination which is not only the complete electrification of the country but ensuring that power supply is constant. I agree that we have challenges, but we cannot rest on our oars, if we have to surmount the challenges. This workshop is one more appropriate step towards dealing with our challenges, and the reason we must approach it with all the seriousness it deserves. Be rest assured that the Senate and the National Assembly will be ready to provide all reasonable support, further to the achievement of your goals. Our relevant committees are on ground to provide firsthand information which also serves as an additional assurance on our readiness to cooperate. STAY WITH IGBERE TV. "Consider Farming As Alternative Profession" - FG Tells ASUU The Federal Government has urged members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to leave the teaching profession and consider going into farming, stressing that more farmers are needed in the country. The Minister of State for Education, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, who made this known also that said that when schools reopen, some of the modalities that have been put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 will include afternoon classes in order to prevent overcrowding. Nwajuiba who was a guest on ARISE NEWS Channel monitored by IGBERE TV in Abuja yesterday, reiterated that all schools must enforce the COVID-19 protocols. He said: “Some people may not believe what we are doing but we must continue to enforce that. You must continue to abide by the protocol. You must provide them. We don’t really care about how much inconvenience or how convenient you think it is for your child to wear facemask. Obey the rules first. If we find out you’re not following those rules, we will have to deal with somebody.” On the protracted strike by the ASUU, the minister who recalled that the union did not embark on the strike on the basis of the pandemic, said the university lecturers might consider farming, insisting that more farmers are needed in the nation. He said the federal government has shown commitment to their demands. Acknowledging that the union has the right to express itself and make demands, the minister noted that up till July 2020, all academic staff had been paid salaries. “ASUU is within its rights as a union of lecturers. We didn’t start a strike with ASUU on the basis of COVID-19. ASUU was already on strike way before COVID-19. Just before COVID-19 will shut down schools, they gave an indefinite strike. We are not in any contention with them. “Government is actually not holding anyone to ransom. It says this is how I want to pay and it has to be through IPPIS. You can leave the employment. You can opt out of it and say ‘I no longer want to teach’. You can find other professions. What we need now are probably more farmers. “You cannot keep forcing your employer and tell him, ‘I will like you to pay me my money through my pillow. Or, I will like you to pay it through this mailbox’. ASUU has a lot of complaints and dissipation around it. That is legitimate but doesn’t mean you should force yourself on the man who has the money.” Source : https://igberetvnews.com/1367311/consider-farming-alternative-profession-fg-tells-ASUU/

Northern Coalition Blasts Premium Times For Hachet Job On Sen. Orji Kalu A coalition of northern groups known as Coalition Of Northern Nigerian Youth, CNNY, has blasted Premium Times for promoting what the group called 'hatchet jobs' against Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu IGBERE TV recalls that Premium Times on Monday published a story in which the Newspaper queried Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for not re-arrangning Senator Kalu who was freed from Kuje correctional centre on June 2, following the judgements and orders of Supreme court and Federal High Court sitting in Lagos respectively. Kalu was sentenced to jail in December , 2019 following an allegation by the EFCC over misappropriation of public funds when he served as Abia State Governor between 1999- 2007 . The judgement was however on May 8, 2020 squashed by Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision by a seven-member panel led by Justice Amina Augie. The panel ruled that the judge that convicted Kalu had no jurisdiction to do so and granted Kalu immediate release. The group in a statement made available to IGBERE TV on Tuesday, signed by its National Cordinator Amb. Zarewa Salisu Sageer and National Secretary, Amb. Abu Bature Dandume, accused the online newspaper on what they referred to as "engaging in paid junk journalism" . The coalition which comprises Northern Youth Council Of Nigeria, NYCN, Association Of Northern Nigerian Students, ANNS, Arewa Youth Consultative Council, AYCC, and Arewa Youth For Good Governance, AYGG, said Premium Times has lost truth and decency for supporting those who has blackmailed and bullied judges into giving arranged judgments. The coalition expressed their worry over Premium Times' blind eye on former Governors who stole money from government coffers and still stealing to concentrate on a man whose stint in politics has made him poorer . "Kalu stole no single dime from the government he served between 1999-2007. Kalu was stupendously rich before he became a governor . Many Nigeriana know the truth. The masterminds of Kalu's travails are only afraid of him because of his war chest in running for 2023 presidential election. They have been fighting him since 2007 because they dont want him to be President . A man that bankrolled Peoples Democratic party and Former President Olusegun Obasanjo with N500 Million and N100 million in 1998 respectively deserves some respect. There are former Governors in Nigeria who has no known businesses attached to them but they are stupendously rich and the EFCC has neither said nor done anything . Why must it be a successful businessman like Kalu who have contributed heavily on job creation in Nigeria? " The statement partly reads The Coalition also noted that asking EFCC to re-arraign Kalu is a greater confirmation that the agenda is not to fight corruption but to destroy Kalu in particular. The statement also reads: " For an online newspaper that prides itself to be a defender of truth to be bought over by politicians whose interests are solely 2023 shows how petty and cheap Premium Times can be. The December judgement that saw Kalu imprisoned for six months cannot be called a judgment. It was a bullied and blackmailed judgment where Magu forced the judges to do his own will. There are several cases of former Ministers and Govenors who has corruption cases hanging on their neck. We are surprised that neither EFCC nor Premium Times have made any statement on them. "We understand that some politicians who have interests in 2023 are afraid of Kalu . Magu and his sponsors lost it immediately Supreme Court rescued the judiciary from their hands . They have become jittery and unsettled about Kalu's growing popularity especially since we released our statement on our intention to support Kalu become Nigeria president in 2023. " Inciting the EFCC to begin another probe is a waste of resources. The Nigeria constitution does not allow an individual to be charged on the same case twice. Why are the sponsors hell bent on abusing the judiciary ? They have bullied the judges into giving arranged judgment against Kalu and now want to bully the entire judiciary and constitution. If Kalu is the only problem of the sponsors in achieving their presidential ambition, then they should continue with their attempts to destroy him but should not forget what happened to their co-conspirators " the coalition said . Further speaking, the coalition lamented that Senator Kalu is one outstanding prominent Nigerian whose name have been dragged in the mud by persons who desired to use a willing media organization like Premium Times "They don’t bother about abusing professional ethics once they are paid." "The conspirators plan has been to hire such persons or use obscure names to propagate blatant falsehood in order to achieve a desired end. Any media organization at the beck-and-call of the highest bidder like Premium Times is a total disgrace to the professional ethics of journalism " the coalition said STAY WITH IGBERE TV. The event which has been scheduled to hold on 24th September, 2020, 4: 00pm - 7:30pm via Zoom will feature other prominent speakers from different countries. IGBERE TV recalls that the Secretary-General of the United Nations had said that in light of the number of serious challenges currently facing the world and the fact that many people are turning their backs on the idea of international cooperation (multilateralism) there is not a lot to celebrate in the 75th anniversary year of the UN. He instead called for measures that would increase appreciation for the need for, and value of, international cooperation and international institutions. In that regard the UN Secretary General António Guterres, specifically asked that UN supporters not just engage the UN bubble of fellow UN followers but rather find ways to particularly engage the skeptics and the unaware in thinking about the Future We Want and the role of multilateral institutions in helping to make that better future a reality. In consideration, all sectors of society were called upon by the Secretary General of United Nations, António Guterres, in September 2019, to commit to mobilizing for a decade of action. Global action is needed to secure greater leadership, more resources, and smarter solutions for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, there is need for local action to embed the needed transitions in policies, budgets, institutional infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks, at all levels of authority in governments, and civil society. Special attention must be given to engagement of youth, the media, the private sector, unions, academia, and all other stakeholders, to generate an unstoppable movement as we push forward. In response to the call to commit to the decade of action, the Gregory University Uturu Abia State, the Bar JUNI and Irene Menakaya Foundation International and the Center for SDG Global Education USA, established the Centre for Transformative Advancement of Development in Africa, (CTADA) to join the global community in generating unstoppable movement for required transformation most importantly for Africa. To reverberate the call by the Secretary General and the drive to contribute to advancement of development of African in the new Normal and in commemoration of United Nations @75 the call for the launching and inauguration of Centre for Transformative Advancement of Development in Africa as window to the future we want for communities of Africa especially in the new normal. The purpose is to mobilize the community around the UN75 focused on getting collective action around the world to strengthen the consensus about the Future building International Institutions for success. The event will highlight favorably the; UN75, and the vision of the Future of Africa. Launching of Centre for Transformative Advancement of Development in Africa, (CTADA) resounding Pledge to the Advancement of Development for Africa. The agenda for CTADA embraces the reality that globalization will remained a permanent feature of the 21st century, and in recognition of the impact of global catastrophes like the pandemic that seem to bestow global engagement, it is overbearing that advancement of transformative development in Africa maintains continuity in professional improvement and competence, to effectively generate solutions for multidimensional, challenges. The Centre (CTADA) is a professional development epicenter offering executive education programs for the purpose of enabling the vision. CTADA will focus on emerging issues in response to the global impact on African aimed at providing support to improve advancement through bridging the gap between the diaspora and Africa as a main tributary in the flow of knowledge. https://igberetvnews.com/1365761/prof-ibe-obasanjo-nwajiuba-others-speak-un75-inauguration-ctada-photos/

"There Is Unprecedented, Phenomenal Development In Ebonyi State" - Ohanaeze Commends Umahi The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has applauded the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi for changing the narrative of the State. Nwodo, who spoke when Business Conglomerates signed MOU in Ebonyi State on Tuesday said there is unprecedented, phenomenal development in the State. He noted that the developments are taking place in spite of the fact that Ebonyi State has the lowest federal allocated revenue in the entire Southeast. According to him, "Governor Umahi combines his engineering acumen, his sense of frugality, his continuous jovial, social relationship which has a capacity to making you subdue your motive of profit-making in order to admire Umahi who is out to make a difference in Ebonyi." In his words, “In five years of Governor David Umahi's leadership in Ebonyi State, there is unprecedented, phenomenal development never seen before. “The developments are taking place in spite of the fact that Ebonyi State has the lowest federal allocated revenue in the entire Southeast. “I also know that capital developments in Ebonyi State are done at the cheapest rate. The cost of building a house may cost three or four times in other states more than the cost of building a house in Ebonyi State. “Governor of Ebonyi State combines his engineering acumen, his sense of frugality, his continuous jovial, social relationship which has a capacity to making you subdue your motive of profit-making in order to admire Umahi who is out to make a difference in Ebonyi. “I don’t think that I have seen any building of this nature (the Ecumenical centre) in any other state in the southeast. “Governor Umahi has changed road construction in Nigeria and given it an Ebonyi character. What he does in terms of making sure that the roads are durable is phenomenal. He has a concrete overlay of an iron backing before putting asphalt on it to ensure that he does not just build a road but that it will last for a very long time. “What I saw in terms of transformation this time in Ebonyi is surprising. Governor Umahi, I still want to know the secrets. I want land in Ebonyi so that I will be part of this transformation, it will give me peace of mind.” Source : https://igberetvnews.com/1365623/unprecedented-phenomenal-development-ebonyi-state-ohanaeze-commends-umahi/

GUU Pro -Chancellor, Chief Ugochukwu Commends Management The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of Gregory University Uturu Chief Onyema Ugochukwu has enjoined institutions of higher learning in the country to strive to become relevant agents of social change. Speaking during a meeting with principal officers of the university, Chief Ugochukwu lauded the proactive social interventions of the management especially during the period of COVID-19 lockdown. According to him, "Indeed it was really a breath of fresh air to see our university champion the donation and distribution of many tonnes of palliatives to indigent members of the society during the COVID-19 lockdown. It was even more heartwarming to see that the social interventions went beyond donation of foodstuff to the production of such life supportive materials as medications, power generating set, furnace and sanitizing chamber." Chief Ugochukwu therefore tasked other institutions of higher learning in Nigeria to emulate the example of Gregory University Uturu by going beyond the statutory task of knowledge transfer to the important assignment of providing impactful solutions to the myriads of problems confronting society. Earlier in an address, the Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Augustine Uwakwe enumerated the recent academic and social attainments of the institution, asserting that the pragmatic leadership of the Chancellor, Prof Gregory Ibe, inspired the modest achievements. In his own words, "It is gratifying to note that apart from achieving tremendous curriculum and infrastructural expansion within a short period, we have not allowed the pandemic to disrupt our academic programme as lectures and tests were sustained online throughout the lockdown period. Arrangements are currently being concluded for the conduct of rain semester examinations. We have also taken giant steps to overcome the perennial twin problems of water scarcity and public power supply." " Through the charismatic and pragmatic leadership of both the Chancellor and Pro Chancellor, we have been able to reticulate water to the campus from a sumo facility located four kilometers away, while recently acquiring and installing a brand new electric transformer that when finally energized will enable us supply light to the campus and our host community." IGBERE TV recalls that Chief Onyema Ugochukwu recently assumed office as the second Pro Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu at the expiration of the tenure of the Engr. Mrs Ebele Okeke led Governing Council. STAY WITH IGBERE TV. AFRICA'S NO1 COMMUNITY TV. Source: https://igberetvnews.com/1365586/guu-pro-chancellor-chief-ugochukwu-commends-management/
