Note, pdp isn't ready to field an igbo as a vice let alone President so just know your wailing just began.

South West will gladly vote for a ss person than an igbo hater[/s]
Typical Yoruba tripe;all guttural noise and fantastic gibberish. When Igbos produced the first civilian President and military Head of state, VP, back to back senate presidents etc, the Yoruba political class was then still wallowing away in the oasis of political opposition, assassinations, and thuggery. Just because you managed to FINALLY GET IT RIGHT IN 2015 with a disaster like Boo-hari doesn't suddenly mean you "belong"... even your OBJ was made president twice on the mandate of Northern and Igbo votes, Yoruba mandates failed to make Awolowo, Olu Falae, and Abiola president (always remember that).

We shall see in due time who truly are the inconsequential ones come 2023, shebi we will all come to the table to play our ace cards? Why do you think the SE political class are porting over en masse to APC - the ruling party? Why do you think the likes of Orji Uzo Kalu, Dave Umahi, Okorocha, Hope Uzodinma are quite popular in the Northern political caucus despite the heavy backlash they receive from the Igbos? E go do una like film trick, shebi we're 5%? grin we gladly accept the title, now watch us use that 5% card to willfully negotiate for that Presidency come 2023 while your camp of Tinubu drug-sniffing delinquents shrink back to your rightful place (playing opposition), after Gambari are done dealing with Opolo-eyes, walahi those his brown teeth will turn to crystal white by force grin grin grin cheesy

If power doesn't come to the East come 2023, then we will gladly throw our hats in the ring and massively come out in numbers to support another Aboki in the worst case scenario, or better still a South South candidate... No dirty yeribanza miscreant will smell that Aso rock, let that heaven fall come 2023, you can't eat your gbegiri and Amala and have it.
PoliticsThis Whole Tinubu For 2023 Noise From The SW Camp... by mancoconut(op): 12:25pm On Oct 09, 2021
The whole Tinubu for 2023 agenda been pushed vociferously by the SW all goes to show and prove that Yorubas are not really smart and sophisticated politically as they claim... has anyone noticed the SW are the most vocal about this 2023 presidency for Tinubu? other region's are holding their political ace cards close to their chest by not even showing any indication of interest towards 2023 while secretly strategizing and making alliances behind the scenes...But our Yorooba blodas seem to be unashamedly desperate about presidency in 2023 that most of their elites were seen publicly visiting a sickly Tinubu in London and crowning him the presidential candidacy already. Even Akeredolu didn't hide the insidious agenda of the SW by declaring Tinubu the "Capone of the SW and the South South", which goes to show the whole "Southern Governors forum" nonsense they masterminded was all a perfect ruse to promote Tinubu as some Generalissimo of the South in the build up to their 2023 agenda (I'm glad the SE governors were smart enough to see through the deceptive smokescreen and cut themselves off) ... meanwhile the North are quietly strategizing, the SE leaders despite the vilifications they receive (albeit justified one may argue) are busy cutting political deals across board in deadly silence, the South South leadership are also making their own demands in a smart bargaining power-move to promote the South South interest... but our suffersticated blodas from the SW are the only ones shamelessly commercializing one geriatric London retiree who can barely even walk as the next president of Nigeria in 2023 under their laughable BAT campaign. Walahi Aboki go shock these Afonja people come 2023 gringrin grin, the drama that will play out will be like Naija film trick grin

I've akways maintained that Tinubu hacks/supporters are the most brainless set of yeribanzas you will ever meet anywhere.... these are the same set of low IQ neartharndal apes who are willing to sell not only their IQ's for a plate of gbegiri and Iyan, but are also willing to sell their conscience on a platter of inherent stupidity inherited from their okpolo-eyed drug lord AKA the London retiree geriatric patient... The true Yoruba Christians who truly want the progress and sanctity of Yorubaland and want to preserve the true Omoluabi principles will do well in rising up against these class of low dirty groveling dregs called Tinubu yeribanza Muslims and do the needful on them before they finish Odualand Patapata... The massive IQ drain plaguing the once prestigious and elite Western region that Pa Awolowo fought so hard to build is due to the rise of the Tinubu brand of agberoism laced with a toxic brand of pseudo-intellectualism... a fundamentally gaping flaw in the socio-cultural dynamics of the Yorooba fabric of civilization.

Little wonder a more worrying stats recently released showed that there are more out-of-school children in Yorogba land than anywhere else in the South, many SW states now drag elite positions in academic mediocrity with war-ravaged states in the North (just imagine the embarrassingly massive fall from GRACE TO ELEPHANT GRASS).
PoliticsResidents, Motorists Beg For Repairs As Ondo Inner, Federal Roads Worsen by mancoconut(op): 8:12am On Oct 09, 2021
Residents, motorists beg for repairs as Ondo inner, federal roads worsen

The deplorable state of both federal and state roads in Ondo State is giving residents and stakeholders in the Sunshine State concern.

Specifically, the state-government roads across the 18 local government areas of the state are in worrisome condition as it is having adverse effects on business and commercial activities in the state. Apart from roads in the rural areas which have been abandoned for many years by the present and past administrations, the urban roads are in a similar state.

Though the present administration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has embarked on the rehabilitation and construction of some roads across the 18 council areas in the state, the efforts don’t appear to be enough in ameliorating the plights of the people. It is observed that some of the ongoing works on the road projects have been stopped, and contractors were no more on the sites based on what was linked to paucity of funds.

Some of the towns in the state with bad inner roads include, Akure, the state capital, Ikare Akoko, Ore, Arigidi Akoko, Okitipupa, Irele, Ogbese, Akungba Akoko among others.

Similarly, it was learnt that the state of disrepair of some state roads in some parts was due to continuous rainfalls and the influx of trucks and lorries that abandoned the damaged federal roads to ply the state roads. The trucks, particularly those from the northern part of the country, had worsened the situation on the bad roads while the government had yet to repair the ones in the affected communities. In the ongoing raining season, many roads were obviously flooded by the rains thereby creating more potholes.

In Akure town, some roads in Oyemekun, Oba Adesida roads, Oke Ijebu, Owo, among others are usually in terrible downpours. The residents of Ijoka are lamenting the ongoing construction of the new Idanre-Akure road project. Due to the project, there is no repair of the existing road along the route. In some areas water overflows bridges because of blocked drainages thereby causing more damage to the roads and streets.

To this end, some residents of the affected communities have been calling on the state government to find a lasting solution to the problems, saying the situation had affected their social and economic wellbeing.

A traditional ruler in Akungba Akoko community in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state, Chief Adesegun Ado, lamented that the state of the roads in many areas in his community needed urgent attention. He stated that the development had caused accidents many times when motorists tried to avoid bad portions on the affected roads.

He said, “We are calling on the government at all levels, as a matter of necessity, to rehabilitate the bad portions of roads across the federation and particularly in our community. As you can see yourself, there are potholes everywhere on the roads. This is not good enough and something has to be done urgently to tackle the situation. “

He also called on well-meaning sons and daughters of the community to support the government’s efforts in repairing the roads, adding that the resources might not be enough considering the fact that many sectors needed attention.

A commercial bus driver, Akeem Aremu, said that driving in some communities in the state had become hellish because of the condition of the roads.

He said, “Another deplorable road is the Agbaluku-Arigidi-Akoko to Imo Akoko; a one and half kilometre road which has been abandoned for over 10 years by past administrations in the state. The Ikare- Ikaram-Ajowa road, the Ajowa Ayere road is another terrible axis for drivers who ply the roads often. Criminals sometimes take advantage of the bad roads to kidnap people.

“Driving from Akure to Ogbese (in the Akure North Local Government Area) to Owo is always a problem. The bad portions of the road in Ogbese town now are like a swimming pool as flood has taken over the federal road whenever it rains and when the federal road is blocked, we pass through the inner road of the town which are also not motorable, making many vehicles stuck in the mud.

“The unemployed youths in Ogbese used that to make money as they are contracted to push faulty vehicles out of the mud for money. That is why we are calling on our governor to help us fix the roads.”
A community leader in Ikare Akoko , Chief Olisa Ajakaye, said roads leading to Akokoland were bad. He named some of them as the Ado Ikare, Ikare-Epinmi road and the Kabba-Ajowa Akoko roads. We appeal to our governor and the Minister for Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, to help us to repair the bad federal roads in Ondo State.’’

When contacted on the development, the Federal Controller of Works and Housing, Akure, Olubakinde Olajide, declined comment on the matter, saying as a civil servant, he could not speak without the permission of his boss.

Olajide said, “I am a civil servant. I can’t speak on anything without the permission of my permanent secretary. If you want to interview me, you have to write to my permanent secretary in Abuja who will give me the permission to speak with you. After the permission, you can come for the interview.’’

Also, efforts to reach the state Commissioner for Works and Housing, Mr Aminu Raimi, were not successful as his mobile rang out and he had yet to respond to a text message sent as of press time.

PoliticsGunmen Abduct Father, Three Children On Ondo Expressway by mancoconut(op): 1:04pm On Oct 05, 2021
Gunmen abduct father, three children on Ondo Expressway

Some gunmen have reportedly abducted four members of a family along the Akure — Ado-Ekiti Expressway at Iju in Akure-North Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday.

It was gathered that the victims were a man and his three children who were travelling from Ado-Ekiti to Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The incident happened some hours after a lecturer of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Mr Mayowa Adinlewa, was abducted at a bad portion of the same road.

A source also said the latest victims, whose identity is still unknown at the time of filing this report, were also kidnapped at the very bad part of the road when their vehicle was at its lowest speed.

The source said, “When their vehicle got to the bad portion, it slowed down, then suddenly, the gunmen came out of the bush and shot indiscriminately into the air. Three of the occupants of the vehicle managed to escape from the scene, while the four victims were matched into the bush by the hoodlums.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said, “I have called the DPO of Iju and she said nothing of such happened and no report of such was made at the police station.”

No respite as Southwest communities groan under herdsmen attacks

In spite of the enactment of anti-open grazing law in the Southwest states, armed herdsmen have not stopped attacking and kidnapping residents of some communities in the region, reports KUNLE AKINRINADE.

ALL that was on Fasasi Olanigan’s mind when he left Abeokuta on Wednesday September 8, 2020 was how to get to his destination in Joga area of Yewa North Local Governemnt Area of Ogun State. But two hours after he left his home in Abeokuta, the state capital, Olanigan, a retired lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Ofa, Kwara State, he had not arrived his destination, having been ambushed and abducted by four Fulani herdsmen on the Imasayi-Isaga Road in Joga, Yewa-North Local government Area, Ogun state.

According to reports, his wife, Ireti Olanigan, said a man who was travelling with her husband had escaped from the kidnappers and rushed to their home to inform her that her husband had been abducted.

“He was kidnapped on Joga Road by four herdsmen who were fully armed.

“I was told that as he was being dragged into the bush, someone came and shouted ‘thief’, so, the other person escaped while they took my husband away into the bush,” she said.

She added: “I have gone to the scene and the hunters have helped me to search the bush but they could not find him.

“I left the spot to report to the police at Lafenwa police station, and when I went back to the spot, I did not see my husband’s car that was abandoned. I was told the police came to take his car.”

Same day, gunmen suspected to be herdsmen were said to have kidnapped three workers of former President Olusegun Obasanjo at a Seseri village in Abeokuta.

The hoodlums allegedly ambushed the Hilux car conveying the three workers at the Obasanjo Holdings in the Kobape area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.

The workers regained their freedom three days after they were abducted, due to what the police described as ‘intense pressure’ from operatives deployed to comb the adjoining forest and rescue the victims.

Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said: “Yes, we mounted a lot of pressure on the kidnappers.

“Since yesterday (Thursday) our anti-kidnapping operatives have been in the bush searching for them.

“They were able to trace them to the bush behind the Day Waterman College, along the Kobape Road.

“This evening, they released them (victims) unhurt without any ransom,” he said.

Also, on August 7, gunmen believed to be herdsmen attacked a convoy along the Ibese- Itori Road around 5 pm and abducted a Swiss national and his driver and injured two other persons.

Houses of Assembly in the Southwest states —Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti— recently passed the anti-open grazing law outlawing herders who have been linked to the gale of kidnappings in the region in recent times.

In April this year, Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, like his counterparts in the Southwest zone of the country, inaugurated the Ogun State Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun, during which the governor also commissioned scores of patrol vans and motorcycles to aid the operations of the Amotekun Corps.

No fewer than 12 travellers returning to Lagos in a commercial bus on September 9 this year were abducted around ldoani/lfira in Akoko South-East Area of Ondo State by suspected herdsmen.

It was said that the bus was conveying passengers from Abuja to Lagos when it was ambushed by the armed herders at a failed portion of the road.

It was also reported that the armed herders shot at the Toyota Hiace bus and forced the driver to stop before abducting the passengers.

The Southwest regional security outfit in the state, Amotekun, however rescued nine of the 18 passengers in the bus.

In Ekiti State gunmen suspected to be herdsmen killed a man and abducted his wife and daughter on August 6, 2021 in broad daylight.

The unidentified victim was said to be travelling with his wife and daughter in his Lexus 330 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), along Ewu-Ayetoro-Ekiti Road in Ido/Osi Local Area of Ekiti State when the kidnappers shot at their car.

Police spokesman, for Ekiti Command, Sunday Abutu, said: “The report we got was that the family was travelling along that route. Suddenly, suspected gunmen fired gunshots at them, killing the husband and taking away the wife and their daughter.

“The police mobilised to the spot and combed the surrounding forests with other agencies such as the Amotekun Corps, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and the local hunters and vigilance group.”

How police burst kidnappers, killed suspects in shootout

In the two months, no fewer than three suspected herdsmen involved in abductions died during shootout with the police in Ogun State, while one of the suspects was arrested.

Anti-kidnapping operatives on August 31, 2021 killed three suspected kidnappers within 24 hours in Itoriarea of Ewekoro Local Government and Imala area of Abeokuta North Local Government.

Two of the suspects were killed at Itori during a gun battle which lasted 40 minutes and killed two suspected kidnappers on Sunday August 29 at Itori area of Ewekoro local government.

Police said that four Ak 47 rifles were recovered from the kidnappers.

One other suspect was gunned down at Imala while another member of the syndicate was arrested.

Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement that the kidnappers engaged operatives in gun duel.

Oyeyemi said that operatives had “another bloody encounter” with a kidnap syndicate at Ilala forest in Imala area of Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

“The gun battle between the police and the kidnappers was as a result of information received by the police at Imala divisional headquarters that six armed kidnappers were sighted in the forest.

CrimeGunmen Abduct Pregnant Woman, Two Others In Ogun by mancoconut(op): 11:46pm On Sep 22, 2021
Gunmen abduct pregnant woman, two others in Ogun

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have abducted a pregnant woman and two others in Ogun State. The abductors demanded a N30m ransom.

The incident occurred in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state

A source told Channels Television that they were abducted on Sunday evening, while two others escaped.

It was gathered that the victims were ambushed along Igbo-Ora-Sokoto Road while on their way to visit a friend in the Rounder area of the local government.

The hoodlums were said to have contacted the victim’s family and placed a N10 million ransom on each of the victims.

While narrating the incident, the source said “the victims went to greet someone at Karigo Bus Stop at Rounder when the incident occurred

“The road was bad and so they parked their vehicle somewhere in the area and while heading to their destination on foot, the kidnappers swooped on them. They were five inside the vehicle; two people escaped on Sunday.”

“They have called now and demanded N10 million for the release of each of the victims. The families have gone to report at the police station. One man and two women [were kidnapped]; one of them is pregnant,” the source explained.

“One of them is a thrift collector in the market here [Itoku Market and] one is a civil servant.”

While confirming the incident, the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, however, explained that the victims went to the forest for a special prayer before they were abducted.
