drkay: My mum seriously need dis advice too, her 5 million naira pension is yielding just 250k per year which I think is suboptimal. I can convince her if I see a better investment. Please tell mama to rent a shop and start selling whatever she has subliminal interest and passion in. There are loads of things to sell in Nigeria. Talking about food, clothes, and all other basic needs. When renting a shop, she should rent it in a strategic location where potential customers normally frequent. 1 Like |
Investment / Re: Any Viable Investment For Intending Retiree With Little Or No Supervision by maninmood(m): 2:01pm On Oct 18, 2013 |
HomesOfLife: The best and ONLY investment with little or no supervisions is "Real Estate". I bought a land in Abijo-Lekki for only 500k in 2005. The same land is now valued at 4-5m! Thats about 1000% appreciation in less than 10yrs. By the way, i'm paid 100k/annum by the mechanics i short lease the place to, as i have no intentions of building anytime soon. REMEMBER YOU'RE RETIRING!!! The pressure of paying rent can drown you and your business! You can build small tenanment flats where you'll be collecting rents. Mr estate manager, tell me the purchasing power of 500,000naira in 2005, in comparison with the 4million naira purchasing power in 2013. Tell me how much a sachet of pure water is sold in 2005 as against 2013. And by the way which area in Abijo Lekki is selling for 5million naira? Moreoer, can you provide us evidence substantiating this claim of yours? @OP: Estate investment is good but please don't allow hungry investors to lure you into parting your money with almost unrealistic investment. You have a wife, I suppose. You and madam should make some feasibility study on current market. Focus on consumers' needs, and invest on that area. My dad is a retiree, he is currently taking stocks of dangote cement. He is planning to expand the business soon and he started this last year. I am not saying you should go into cement business, but make some business research about what your passion focuses on. Determine both strength and weakness of the business when you find one. First invest 20% to 30% of your gratuity fund into it, then ensure you put in 100% of your devotion to the business as it is your money and your mindset should be it must not be mismanaged/misspent. !!! 4 Likes |

OP, everyone deserves some respect. You probably abandoned the bike and went into the bank without proper regard to the security personnel despite the fact that he's been warning you not to pack on the spot. You would have saved yourself the insult if you had given him the due respect he deserves. You need to improve on your courtesy. You would probably beat the security man up if you are a statesman or something. 1 Like |

That is what happens when one fails to conduct proper observations before erecting an edifice or whatever it is called. I remember when Fashola started this control, my christian brothers were raining fires and brimstone on him, now they are embracing it. I am happy that most of us are now accepting changes and this trend I believe will rise dramatically in the next few years, decades, etc. May be just one day, we will learn how to stop enriching pastors while we wallow in poverty blended with ignorance. And finally, we will learn how to put our destiny in our very own hands. May God bless us mentally. 2 Likes |

Joagbaje: This is a typical 17th century nonsense we celeberate in Nigeria. If you must know, the girl is playing a huge prank on you dude. You guys are making my belief in almighty God dwindle by the day with your waggish activities that portray nothing but irrelevance and hogwash. Your mates out there are 'fighting' academically to ensure there is new innovations every day, they are making varieties of huge research to perfect our world and probably emancipate you from your buffoonery. And you are there hallucinating on the impossible. Una get job at all? 4 Likes |

Guys let's be honest here. We can't be satisfied. You see, if these ladies insist on doing peruvian, malaysian hair, we will go haywire saying it's expensive. Braids is economical if you ask me. It can go on for 2 months which to me saves money rather than over-hyped borrowed hair. Well ladies, you'd better sit there for several hours, and do less-than-ten thousand naira-braid which will last 2 months than coming to me with tale of brazillian hair stories. Arghh 3 Likes |

Imagine how beautiful a country whose economy is solely dependent on seaport is. It seems it's fairly competing with Nigeria whose wealth and income thrive on oil and many other resources. I learnt there has never been, in Togo, a recorded power outage in the past few years. Let's see what PHCN privatisation will bring forth. |

It is not new, maybe in Nigeria though- I bought mine probably around 5 months ago( 55 and 46'' respectively) in UAE. It is a prolific innovation, however. These oyibos will design a tv that might be sleeping with one's wife sooner than expected. 2 Likes |

Base price for a used rolls royce(4,500miles) is $219,950.00 as verified on ebay; some even go for 350k usd like this one. Formalities to ship the vehicle will go along a hefty amount. Shipping price should also be considered. Clearing charges in Nigeria would be heavy. Bearing in mind that a dollar is around 163usd. Not taking sides with the poster as the 90m is over-priced. 70m would be a good asking price. |

annexes: Tonto dike will soon turn evangelist, watch out in the next 10yrs. The question is, will you keep stalking Tonto for good 10 years? I would rather you asked yourself, where you would be in the next 10 years. I just dislike the fact that many Nigerians won't just stop hypothesizing on someone's life. The common sentence, 'Wait and see what will happen to him in the next few years' is quite abhorrent and I just wish people could worry about their lives rather than someone else's. |

~Bluetooth: Grammatical error police. Listen, 'more' can be used as an adverb, an adjective and a noun in a sentence. (noun) "He wanted more and he was going to get it." "Less can be more." (adjective) "I ate more oatmeal today than yesterday." Banky said, "...more fame...". Any difference with the example cited? (adverb) "You have to turn more on mountain roads." "He was more careful than others." REFERENCE: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_more_an_adjective |

She allegedly had intimacy with pastor Biodun 6 months ago and she watched the youtube ads, which taught her how to be a rebel, crazy fame starving mongrel 6 months ago. She watched the ads and probably other ads and she was tutored on how to be crazily proficient enough to use a public figure to climb the fame ladder. She orchestrated it and she got it. Well done famous girl! You might want to take on blackmailing a renown governor to be more famous. |
