A former President of the United States, Bill Clinton on Thursday phoned president Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of Saturday’s polls.
Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina in a statement, said the former US president regretted his inability to visit the country to witness the signing of the final peace accord before the general elections.

Buhari, Abubakar Atiku of the main opposition party, PDP and other presidential candidates on Wednesday signed the second phase of the peace accord for the 2019 general elections, organised by the National Peace Committee (NPC) under the chairmanship of former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar.
Clinton wished Nigeria well as her citizens go to the polls.

Buhari appreciated Clinton for his continuous support for Nigeria and the growth of her democracy.
He described him as a friend of the country, while commending his constant support for the peace, stability and progress of Nigeria under a democratic dispensation.

A former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva has said that it took the magnanimity of President Muhammadu Buhari to give access road to the community of a former President Goodluck Jonathan in Otoueke.
Sylva, while speaking during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Yenagoa, reminded the people that right from the days of Sir Milford Okilo, the people of Ijaw always formed alliance with Northern Nigeria for accelerated development.

Support Groups of the Peoples
Democratic Party PDP Presidential
candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on
Sunday, declared their
willingness to work for the re-
election of President
Muhammadu Buhari of the All
Progressives Congress (APC).
The groups accuse the PDP and
its presidential candidate of
negligence, lack of focus,
nepotism among others.
Some of the groups according to
the organizers of the event
include Atiku Reloaded, Atiku
Support Group, Unique Women

The Minister of
Education, Malam Adamu Adamu,
says the Federal Government will
provide free internet access for
library users in the country.
Adamu spoke on Friday in Abuja
at the “7th Edition of the
Weekend Ministerial Press
Briefing.”
He said the National Library of
Nigeria (NLN) had been fulfilling
its mandate by expanding its
branches across the country as
well as rehabilitating the existing
ones.
According to him, contracts for
the renovation of the Lagos,
Benue, Nasarawa, Imo, Adamawa
and Plateau branches have been
awarded, while others would
come on stream in 2020.
” It must be noted that we are in
a digital world. We are therefore
in the process of providing free
internet access for our library
users, beginning with Lagos,
Abuja and Enugu branches.
” New branches are to be
established in Delta, Anambra,
Ekiti, Kebbi, Kogi and Jigawa
states. We have completed
permanent branch buildings in
Gombe and Katsina states.”
Adamu added that renovation of
libraries would go beyond
painting walls and replacing
leaking roofs, but provide
reading spaces for children to
promote a sound reading culture
among school pupils.
He further said that the service of
Galaxy Backbone had been
requested to increase the
internet bandwidth in these
branches.
” We are also expanding,
completing and renovating e-
libraries in all our unity schools,
and each school will get qualified
librarian to manage the learning
resources.
“We are also working with state
governments and other
stakeholders to develop a public
library policy for the country.”
