Congratulationsto the NLC for ‘waging war on wages and almost wining it. PMB and his team deserves some commendation for acceding to the popular demand of the Nigerian workers. I pray it should be implemented as soon as possible. However, the main war expected from NLC should be against the huge amount of money earned by the executives and legislatures, because the cheating is just too much. For instance, if the proposed wage is implemented, then a minimum wage earner will receive (₦30,000 X 12 months ) ₦360,000 per year, and if he works for 35YEARS, he will receive (₦360,000X 35) ₦12.6Million as against the ₦13.5 million received by a Senator in a MONTH. |

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday expressed his commitment to having new National Minimum Wage Act for the country. He spoke while receiving the report of the Tripartite Committee on the Review of National Minimum Wage that recommended N30,000 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He received the report from the committee’s chairman, Amal Pepple. He said that having seen the argument of the government team on insisting on N24,000 and that of the organized labour that agreed N30,000, he would put in place the necessary machinery that would close out the open areas. He said “Our plan is to transmit the Executive Bill to the National Assembly for passage within the shortest possible time. I am fully committed to having a new National Minimum Wage Act in the very near future. “Let me use this opportunity to recognize the leadership of the organized labour and private sector as well as representatives of state and federal government for all your hard work. The fact that we are here today is a notable achievement.” http://thenationonlineng.net/im-committed-to-new-minimum-wage-buhari/?fbclidMynd44 lalasticlala oam4j |

Quality20: d world is strange o ! where Igbo and Niger delta guys in NA are deserting to join oil bunkering and militancy in Niger delta , these ones are staking their lives They should have been since incorporated into the Nigerian Army.Had it been they were trained and recruited few years back, the Boko Haram insurgents would since have been degraded. Because their morale in the battle ground is far above and better than that of the Nigerian Army. This is because they fight for a cause (i.e safeguarding their state and and people in that troubled state;who have happened to be their parents, brothers, sisters, relatives etc ).Sometimes, however, if the battle is so intense that the Nigerian Army retreat, but those boys will never. They know in and out of Borno. Therefore, it will not take them all that long to fish out and deal with any Boko Haram element,if they are for instance as equipped as Nigerian Army. But, they should be subjected under close vigilante by the Nigerian Army. I wish them all the best. |

God bless Buhari. These ones were recruited into army just because they are Northerners.
We have several youths assisting the army in the south. Not once have these vigilantes been recognized.
God bless you Buhari.. Every state including FCT has Army State Recruitments office with equal number representing each state through same selecting process. If you have any doubt go to your state government for further clarification |

degamemaster: And tomorrow somboby will appoint some of them yo head some sensitive posts in the military just because they were civilians JTF without considering their academic qualifications. That's how this national disaster called Buhari got enrolled into the military and the result is what we're suffering today. The civilian jtf have been fighting boko haram for years,if that is not a requirement to join a military then you have a serious problem. Those guys know how to kill already,so the best way to control them is to merge them inside the military. |

Are you insinuating that they are not qualified. Those civilian JTF defended their territory against the dreaded boko haram. Additionally those guys should be given national awards to portray good examples. Please your hatred for Buhari is understandable but if you don't contain it will consume |

A total of 103 former members of the youth vigilante force, who supported the military to fight Boko Haram in Borno State, have been recruited into the Nigerian army.
The former members of the vigilante force, popularly known as Civilian-JTF, were on Monday evening, showered with gift items, including plots of land and cash, by the Borno government.
The 103 recruits are the latest in a series of batches that have so far been absorbed into the Nigeria army and other security agencies.
So far, over 400 former members of the Civilian-JTF who have been enlisted into the army through the help of the Borno State government.
The fresh recruits, who returned home on completion of their training at the Nigerian Army Training Depot, were at the Government House, Maiduguri, on Monday to show appreciation.
The soldiers thanked the government and people of Borno State for giving them the rare opportunity to serve their country.
Introducing the new soldiers to the Borno State governor, the state attorney general and commissioner for Justice, Kaka-Shehu Lawan, said the former Civilian-JTF personnel were given all the necessary training required of them to become full-fledged soldiers.
He said following the recent announcement of the last recruitment process by the Nigeria army, the state government encouraged all interested members of the Civilian-JTF interested in it, to put in their application. “We, as a government, helped them to purchase the forms and facilitated all the process of their going to the Depot,” he explained.
“Today, they have passed their Depot training and are now bonafide soldiers of the Nigerian Army.”
The attorney general, whose office coordinates the affairs of the Civilian-JTF under the Borno State Youth Empowerment Scheme, said the 103 soldiers drawn from the Civilian-JTF, were recruited based on merit. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nnorth-east/294313-103-civilian-jtf-members-join-army-receive-cash-plots-of-land.html

That's how lair Mohamed claimed they've created 200 million jobs and dumb-heads like u agreed. This govt. is well known for citing incredible figures, the other day they said buhari won the apc primaries with 14 million votes! na lie, na lie, that is why some of you are lacking behind. Have you taking time to go round the schools to confirm, or take up teaching job through Npower to know the number in your school alone. Do you know that it is one egg per day for pupils, then take a statistic of the states where the programme is currently ongoing, there are states with more 20 primary schools. |

The Special Adviser to the President on National Social Welfare Programme, Maryam Uwais, on Monday said the federal government feeds pupils with 6 million eggs and 594 cows weekly under its Home Grown School feeding programme.
Mrs Uwais disclosed this in Abuja, when she received a delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on a study tour of Nigeria to learn from the social intervention programmes in the country.
She noted that 9 million children are currently being fed under the programme in 26 states as a way of encouraging schools enrolment.
She noted further that the programme had created a value chain in the agricultural sector and had also led to the employment of Nigerians thereby creating a market for agriculture.
“Presently, each child eats at least an egg in a day, adding up to 6.8 million eggs being consumed weekly by children under the programme in just 26 states. “So, the poultry farmers are now doing so much to provide eggs for the schools because every meal is a balanced diet and every child must have at least one egg.
“We need to slaughter 594 cows every week for the pupils and 83 metric tonnes of fish is consumed weekly in just 26 states and more states are coming on board.
“Farmers are growing and requesting for rice meals now because they are saying I was growing 20 bags but because of the programme, I now provide more so I need a rice mill.’’
Mrs Uwais said that farmers were now calling on the government to support them to engage in mechanised farming.
She added that the programme was helping the agricultural sector, by providing markets while women were also being employed as cooks and they in turn employ others.
“The cooks are employing people to wash and serve in classrooms so imagine a child being fed and the cook is the mother while the father is a farmer that provides the foodstuff,” she said. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/294271-nigerian-govt-feeds-pupils-with-6m-eggs-594-cows-weekly-official.html
