Politics › FG Has Resolved Legal Issues Affecting Ajaokuta Steel Company – Osinbajo by ManirBK(op): 12:48pm On Feb 15, 2018 |
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has stated that the federal government has resolved all outstanding legal issues that have halted operations at the Ajaokuta Steel Company. Osinbajo revealed this in Kogi State on Tuesday during the State Economic and Investment Summit. Work seems to have been grounded in the national steel company that has gulped billions of naira by successive administrations since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999. “We have now resolved the legal issues holding down work in Ajaokuta at the Ajaokuta steel complex,” the Vice President told the audience at the summit. He said Kogi plays a strategic role in the country for being the largest producer of cashew and also in rice production in the country. https://leadership.ng/2018/02/15/fg-resolved-legal-issues-affecting-ajaokuta-steel-company-osinbajo/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C2661408780 Mynd44 lalasticlala oam4j |

Politics › Boko Haram No Longer Attracting Membership – President Buhari by ManirBK(op): 5:29pm On Feb 13, 2018 |
President Buhari says the era of Boko Haram terrorism is gradually drawing to end, with the narrowing of the recruitment base of the insurgents, and renewed onslaught by the Nigerian Army.
The President stated this when he received the Letter of Credence of Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Nigeria, Most Rev.Archbishop Antonio Filipazzi, at the State House,Abuja on Tuesday.
Buhari noted that the terrorist group had lost appeal in its initial strongholds, necessitatinga steady retreat that would eventually culminate in ending the insurgency.
He said,“You can’t indoctrinate people who are below the age of 14 years and blow up churches, mosques, markets and you keep shouting God is great." “It is either you don’t know what you are saying,or you simply don’t care or believe what you are saying. It is part of our success story that Boko Haram is finding it more difficult to recruit people. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/boko-haram-no-longer-attracting-membership-president-buhari.html? |

Politics › PDP Supporters Defect To APC In Kwara by ManirBK(op): 5:13pm On Feb 13, 2018 |
Many members and supporters of PDP in Agbonda, Ajase Ward II of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, yesterday, decamped to the APC. The defectors attributed their grievance to neglect and lack of focus in their former party.
The Secretary of the state chapter of APC, Mr. Olabode Adekanye, received the defectors on behalf of his party during an empowerment programme he organised for the people of Ajase Ward II tagged: ‘ABS Ajase II Empowerment Scheme’.
Some of the items distributed to the beneficiaries included sewing machines, grinding machines and multi-functional fans.
Adekanye said the defection of former PDP members in the area was a testimony that the APC-led government in the state was meeting the expectations of the electorate. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/pdp-supporters-defect-to-apc-in-kwara.html?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C4109410195 |
