BusinessFire Guts Lagos Spare Parts Market by ManirBK(op):
An early morning fire on Thursday razed down a section of
the Olowu Automobile Spare Parts Market in Lagos. The fire
was reported to have started at about 2am and affected 13
shops, four warehouses and one restaurant.
The spokesman of the National Emergency Management
Agency (NEMA) in the South West, Ibrahim Farinloye, who
confirmed the incident, said the Commandant, 9th Brigade,
Ikeja, on assessment visit met officials of NEMA team at the
scene.
“The cause of the fire could not be determined, but the
chairman of the traders association, Bassey Ikpendu,
applauded the effort of the fire service. “The chairman
narrated that one of their apprentices slept in the building and
noticed the fire but that by the time he got out, the fire had
engulfed the building and immediately the fire service was
contacted. No injury or death was recorded,” he said.
Daily Trust recalls that goods worth millions of naira were
destroyed in a fire incident that occurred on March 8, at Akere
Spare Parts Market, Ajegunle, in the Apapa area of Lagos.
The corpse of a 65-year-old security guard was also said to
have been recovered near the scene of the incident.
Similarly, on Tuesday morning, a fire broke out at the Balogun
Market, Lagos, killed one person and injured seven others.

PoliticsZamfara Guber Election: APC, Matawalle Write INEC by ManirBK(op): 6:13pm On Mar 30, 2023
Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State
and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have written to
the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,
demanding a review of the results of the 2023
governorship polls conducted in the state.
According to an acknowledged copy of the letter signed
by U. O Sule, SAN, the party and its governorship
candidate alleged that the declaration of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, candidate as the winner of the
election is a complete negation of the Electoral Act and
other extant rules guiding the conduct of the election in
Nigeria.
The APC said a winner should not emerge from the
governorship election conducted in Zamfara as 85,062
votes were cancelled across the state while the lead
margin was put at 65,750.
They also raised concern that the INEC declared a winner
of the governorship polls when the election is yet to be
conducted at units in Birnin Magaji with a total number of
46,000 registered voters.
On the Maradun issue, the APC and its gubernatorial
candidate expressed wonder why INEC rejected a
collated result of the Maradun local government, where it
polled 95,506 to defeat the PDP, who scored only 618
votes and instead used alternative data from the server
to declare the result of the local government.
They urged the commission to exercise its powers as
contained in Section 65(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 (as
amended) by reviewing its decision in the declaration
made.

for Aba four of those tomatoes is 100. So the one op bought will likely be 1000 naira at Aba. Onions, make I no go that side. You will get it for 1500 naira here. Pepper will likely cost 1000 naira too. So what Op bought for 500 naira is what I will buy for 3000 naira up at Aba. By the way, how much is one cup of local rice at una areas. Here na 250 naira
pls snap shot the type of cup you are talking about. Here we are not using cup but we are measuring using Mudu. One Mudu of local Rice is 650 and for foreign is 800 naira per mudu.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) was leading the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the governorship
election of Kaduna State after results from 22 local
governments were announced on Monday.

The results announced at the INEC office in Kaduna
showed the candidate of the APC, Uba Sani, leading
with about 12,000 votes.

The collation was later suspended until 6 p.m. as
officials awaited the result from Kudan, the last local
government area/

Kaduna State has 23 local government areas. Mr Sani
is the candidate for the APC and Isah Ashiru is the
PDP candidate.

Meanwhile, the PDP has rejected the result of Lere
