https://nairametrics.com/globacom-emerge-new-owner-9mobile/ According to this article, Glo may emerge new owner of 9mobile. Is this news of any significance to Sterling and Conoil? Don't think so. If only Glo was listed (it would have been something to cheer). I'm afraid once MTN lists on the NSE, Glo will lose its indigenous priviledges (if any). |
Investnow2017:You didn't open the link, did you? |
jumboo:I don't see any sensationalism (as such) in the article. He probably didn't even read it ![]() Coolcash1, Same way you lend money to the FG by subscribing to bonds or TBs, PFAs have also been lending. Also note the figure quoted is since inception so your scam alert seems unfounded. |
Jejebaba:He should forget about it. Consider it lost investment. Will what is left of it to his son. ![]() Never invest in a business you have no time for. Never invest in a business you do not understand. Never dwell on past losses (Learn and move on). |
Dangote vs Bua "....... and scheme a viable competitor out of business as has been their legendary antecedent." Dangote's allegations http://persecondnews.com/2017/12/bua-stole-limestone/ Some mudslinging going on here mehn! Grabs popcorn

A buyer is willing to purchase your Diamond shares for N1.50 if you want out. Over 80m units sold at an average of N1.50 between yesterday and today. His mandate is clear BUY with a limit at N1.50 |

Ehn! Wait o. What's the issue with Zenith gaan gan? |
makashava:Do you anticipate the technical suspension can be lifted before the conclusion of the forensic audit and all issues resolved? Do you anticipate a conclusion of the enquiry into Oando's dealings before the FYE earnings releases? Is it possible for you to invest the funds profitably in other stocks in anticipation of the earning season? If you so desire, could the gains realized be ploughed back into Oando for your long term plan? I am not sure you took the best decision, but then, you remain MD/CEO Makashava holdings Inc. ![]() |
veecovee:No one has proof. However when a majority shareholder seeks to buy out minority shareholders, it simply means he is not interested in sharing ownership of the company with you and probably also doesn't want public scrutiny. The only way to achieve that is to push you out and then delist. Increasing stake is different from buying-out. Precedents: NBC, 7up etc http://punchng.com/7-up-majority-shareholder-to-buy-out-others-for-n19-33bn/ "Sawhney, who joined the company in a management change this year, said delisting Seven-Up from the stock exchange after the takeover would be “logical” . The takeover is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals." NB: Not a recommendation to BUY, HOLD or SELL. |
wanaj0:Reminds of a joke of the guy who got hold of a flying manual. Entered a plane, followed the manual and got the plane in the air successfully. When he was done flying and wanted to land, he flipped the page only to learn "Landing" was in the following episode. At Thinkbigga Hover in the air and pray you don't run out of fuel. Perhaps help will come in no distant time. Alternatively, you could crash-land their chopper with minor bruises and move on. |
Fidelity on steroids |
safepaulooo:So it's not Locodemy alone. Please what has 1kobo rule got to do with DF? What is your understanding of the 1kobo rule, please? Please can you sell DF below 50k? Can you sell a stock that pays you 10k or 15k dividend at 1kobo or below 50k?Go through the Daily Official price list of the NSE and check the stocks that are stuck at 50k or trade at about 50k. If you have any of them in your portfolio, then you should be very worried. It simply means supply forces can push them below 50k to 49k,48k,.........30k.......20k.....9k........1k etc. Otherwise, please leave Loco to this 1kobo rule. ![]() |

dipoolowoo:I hope CACOL will also petition the EFCC after the entire board of Oando is sacked. Relieving them of their position is a slap on the wrist. They should forfeit choice properties (the Ibru and Akingbola style) and spend some time in jail if possible. |
oseodile:I'd say don't get your hopes too high. It's expected in a bull season though - the human mind is fickle. I won't say never still. |
DeRuggedProf:Verdict reached!! |
Mpeace:Shey you were not in court today ni? ![]() @Locodemy; Don't discount the effect of the sale of the subsidiary. It's a major contributor to the market sentiment IMO. Sentiments go wild in a bull session. |
DeRuggedProf:Verdict reached!! |
robobo:* Favourable govt policies * Business segment * Market size * Sponsors and/or management * Innovation * Organizational efficiency * Continuous development * Strategic focus * Pedigree * Defined goals or targets that can be measured. * Operational updates. The list is inexhaustible. Apologies for not going into details. It has played out in FBNH, DF, Guinness (coming from an unprecedented loss, yet investors that know went for it). It will play out in Seplat, Cadbury and Transcorp among others again and again. So even though the EPS, PE ( which are industry subjective ) and the likes may be unattractive at the moment, these factors are bound to produce the desired numbers barring unforseen circumstances to which even 'numbers' are not immune from. You must think those that bought into Jumia or Uber a few years ago are crazy. Lol. That a company is making loss doesn't mean the business is not viable. It's not always about EPS, PE An understanding of the market where the company operates, the market reach, distribution, market demographics are analysed too. So when you are aware of these factors, you can always tell if it already manifesting from a result (even though negative) or the machinery set in motion to produce the result some investors want (classic example is Seplat's recent result). The handwriting on the wall is clear. Those who know know.Disclaimer: The stocks mentioned are for the purpose of conveying my message and not a recommendation to BUY. I have no idea where they are headed o This is also a personal opinion. Others may refute with a superior argument, experience or knowledge. |
locodemy:Baba calm down. How do you want to survive in this market sef? You don't seem to have a strategy. I'm sure you have prematurely jumped out of Cadbury too. That said, I hope y'all watching Cadbury and Seplat? Please don't BUY o. I will not be responsible for your decisions besides the call came much earlier. I prefer a system that can identify the factors that produce the numbers. |
