BullBearMkt: DO YOU KNOW THE MARKET IS YET TO DETERMINE ITS DIRECTION THIS YEAR? Twice I have written this posts yesterday and also deleted it the same number of times. Reasons being that I don't want to be labelled as an Alarmist and I really want people to continue enjoying the ongoing rally in NSE. However, I owe my conscience a duty to post information I think will benefit at least one person.
No doubt, lot of money is made using price and volume for technical analysis. Now focusing on the last 2 trading days in 2018, what I see is that the market is yet to make decision on where is driving the NSE index. Market opened on 02/01/18 and closed a little above its open after bears took the price lower. The next day, 03/01/18, NSE index briefly enjoyed the rally but closed below the open price. Looking at the volume, yesterday's volume which dragged the index price down is twice more than Tuesday's volume. Each day creating pin-bar! As shown in chart 1.
This is summed-up on Weekly and Monthly chart as shown in Chart 2 as indecision.
What this means technically, is that investors are yet to decide whether to continue pumping more money into the market (which will cause the rally to continue) or take money out.
Chart of NGSE 30 companies is encouraging with a "positive indecision". Chart 3.
Next couple of days will unmask the plans of Market Makers and Smart Monies. Keenly to watch out for is the volume as related to price action. Possibly the rally can continue or temporary pullback could show up...
MY TAKE -General market direction is unclear -Patience needed for any new entry -To buy any stock, buy at support level (or retrace/pullback) and not at 52 week high
PLAN YOUR TRADES AND TRADE YOUR PLANS If only you could study the charts ex-Dangcem. Dangcem can make you misinterpret market direction. I have seen NSEASI rising without corresponding increase in general prices of stocks except Dangcem. Please check and revert. |

bigjay01: shoot first ask questions later and be ready to tear race if yawa gas. How do you want to tear race from a stock under technical suspension? It can remain there longer than you anticipated. I'd rather ride the bull now and join when the TS is lifted (if I must). |

locodemy: I missed fcmb and diamond. I caught their brother skye bank this morning at 0.53 before the volume spike. You are right. You may be wrong Loco. During a bull, people get into some stocks and remain stuck for a long time. Entry is much more easier than exit. Once the bears surface other liquid stocks offer an exit(with or without an haircut). Illiquid and non-performing stocks won't offer you one until the next MAJOR bull. The guys selling to you have been stuck in Skye for a very long time or prolly from the last MAJOR bull. Summary: Don't get carried away. Keep your mouse on the SELL tab. Skye and Diamond/FCMB are not brothers for now. |

Bianco1: Any news on GSK - Glaxosmithkline please? Keeps going down while penny stocks are going up even Livestock is now on full bid! Be careful of entanglements in 2018. Sincerely, I have not been following GSK for long but my first reaction on reading your post was " GSK keh! " GSK and full bid don't go in the same sentence sef. It's a stock for long termers who are mostly interested in dividends and reinvestment not quick sales upon capital appreciation. Disclaimer: I could be wrong since it's not under my coverage. NSE has a mind of its own as they say. GSK fit double sef. |

locodemy: my tradebook is saying otherwise. check it ........Diamond bank 52 weeks high @1.65 and fcmb @1.55. pls you can clear my doubt with yours. Intra-day price is not what is referenced but CLOSING price. So a stock could rise to N1.65 during trading but closes at N1.53. The closing price is what is considered for 52wks high or low as the case may be. FCMB is N1.48 Diamond is N1.53 |

locodemy: Today, fcmb is joining the new 52 weeks high team while diamond will join tomorrow . Goodluck to holders. you are spotted at #2.00 soon.
Transcorp should make me smile naw! FCMB already made a 52wk high on the last trading day of last year. Both are setting new 52wks high if they close at current market prices |

Coolcash1: I was expecting this...If you read my post carefully, the bolded was directed at short term players (@currentprice can help search it out... ) because most members on this forum are after quick cap appreciation. So, I have not misled anybody . I am in the bus because i am ready to go a yard with the company subject to periodic review of the fundamentals...
Dis: hold some units in my portfolio It had nothing to do with the bolded. Just surprised you took up your rights and even bought more of a stock you felt was worth nothing more than N25 and is better off being sold to Dangote Cement. If you think it's a good stock for long term, then your call should be BUY for the long term Subconsciously, I had an impression Coolcash1 is bearish and pessimistic about the immediate future of Wapco. Logically, it implies you will stay away until the coast is clear (your stand most times). Like I said, I didn't expect that revelation from you. |

Toluway: I buy online, through meritrade platform .
The orders are now executed, but without the usual feedback from meritrade, who has always been a great performer. Why then were you complaining about Meristem not executing your orders? Your mandate is not routed through a broker if placed on Meritrade. You can also monitor market status yourself (bid, offer, trades etc) just by clicking on the "Market Overview" tab at the top of your screen and selecting the stock of interest. |

Toluway: Meristem automated online system has not been executing my buy order since yesterday. Even Nascon that remained static yesterday has not been but up till now. In the past, I used to get my orders executed immediately. Could there be sabotage by meritrade officials? I used to ask them to do my buying and selling in the past. Or, traders have not fully resumed activities?, which I'm thinking. Your order is to buy Nascon at what price, please? |

rebekah2011: Even for the market makers The reference price for the day is largely determined by the market maker most times and they do not need 50,000 units to play that game. As low as 1000 units or less can be used by the MM. You may wanna verify my claim from tomorrow. |

wanaj0: Something is definitely going on there. May have to sell some NEM to partake in this. For how long are you willing to wait to see whatever is going on there? There have been volume spikes in Aiico for some time with no corresponding news or movement in price. Aiico needs to undergo restructuring before anything good can come out of it. It has been a perennial under-performer as far as I can remember. I sincerely hope you won't have to wait long and something is actually cooking without any further delay in dishing it out. Just a personal opinion. Good luck. |
