Family › Re: Forcing My Mother-in-law To Leave My Home by mapet: 11:52am On Dec 24, 2010
O boy! this is a simple case that need drastic action.

1. Call your wife and tell her to convince her mom to leave within a dealine of 3days.
2. Call the elders in her family and tell them to also do same.
3. If you wife doesn't do that, if she picks quarrel with you or leaves with her mom, and stuffs like that, then she probably was never yours in the first place.
4. Take drastic action, THROW HER OUT,

@ Occam

1. There is nothing wrong with asking questions but Sowore who brought the question should have provided evidence to what he's alluding especially wrt to Tinubu's alledge ownership of ABC. Sowore asked a question that bothers on some allehgation and I believe Fashola answered him with the same basis of his generalising. it is not Fashola's business to provide evidence  on ownership of ABC. If people like Sowore or any other persons asking such questions wants answers, then forward march to CAC Abuja and get the facts. I don't know why ppl are that lazy to do simple research

2. I am not with you about his body language when he heard Sahara reporters. What I observed was that Fashola demonstrated good listening quality which is an hallmark of good poise, polish and management. Fashola took notes (writing them on his note pad) of the 3 questions (the supposedly consolidated in one) Sowore asked and he answered them accordingly.

3. wrt to ABC's percentage, that's another issue. In a Capitalist world that is what happens. In the future if another government feels they can match that with the organs and workforce of government, they excuse ABC and continue Sikena. I'm not so bothered because ppl can mouth a lot of this but the big question is how come other government could not come up with intelligent ways to raise the IGR by over 3000%huh

For me Tinubu could be the owner of ABC yet operating in the background; we may not know. But in the context of our discussion, He who makes the allegations must substantiate it.

There is something wrong with Sowore in the first place.

1. Asking questions without getting his facts right.
2. Making allegations that cannot be substantiated with facts.
3. Getting upset and asking Fashola "why are you upset?" huh
4. With his inferiority complex he's simply a disgrace, WTF does he mean that if it were a BBC reporter now, does he thing BBC made the name and fame asking stupid questions and cry-baby attitude like dat?

1. On the issue of corruption, it’s a no brainer. Bring the evidence. Even the group, friends of Lagos issue was thwarted by another group and not Fashola and the courts are there for recourse and settlement. I laugh when some of you UK folks spew rubbish, flying false and unverified information as if you run Nigeria on the internet. I know when Lagos state invested in Oracle softwares 10years to reduce fraudulent practices in government. I’ve worked in IT (with vast experience and professional qualifications in areas of Information Systems, Information Security and IT governance)for 9years out of my 11years corporate working experience and there’s nowhere there won’t be loopholes or fraud; Fashola was simply telling the world that is government is responsible and aware enough to put structures in place to stem corruption. He tells you he doesn’t sign cheques, federal allocation are transferred to state account by CBN and there is mechanism in place in Lagos State that moneies disbursed are under a defined expense heads. If sowore had come in prepared, he’ll have handed Fashola evidences of stuffs like falsified contracts, contracts paid for and not executed, over invoicing issues, money laundering evidences and stuffs like that. My problem is that some people sometimes act as daft as government want to make them look.
For me a lesson here is to assess to what extent to take junk spewed out by our half-backed journalists like Sowore has portrayed here. This is not SUG where you mess up good objectives with Aluta-laced juvenile tendencies

3. For all you out their saying Fashola evaded any question, then it’s either you’re talking out of the context of this video, you didn’t watch the video, you ‘re lacking in comprehension or you are just plain dumb. I saw fashola in the video write down each of the question, answered each according to the sequence it was asked and never avoided one
1. On the Issue of deodorizing (or what did Sowore call it) areas for the rich at the expense of the poor areas(a dumb question in my own opinion), especially alluding to the Lekki expressway; I thought Fashola tackled it well enough. He mentioned the simple fact that the area is fast outgrowing the pace of the road development, the government cant finance the blue print at the rate the road is growing, tolling is a global phenomenom and it’s the price of fast paced global development. He went on to say, why are people castigating the government for using private sector funds, when the private sector gave generously to the security fund that put in place the unrivaled security structure we have today? Me thinks this was an elaborate answer enough
2. In the area of tax collection, it’s a simple logic. Government grew IGR from 600million to over 14Billion, you guys are not about that but about professional fees? It’s only fair to pay professional fees to a company that offers the service. Wrt to Tinubu. Fashola says he’s not aware Tinubu owns ABC (even if it’s true, I thought to forestall Fashola’s denial, Sowore would have brough hard evidences like Cert. of Incorporation, List of Board members as evidence in the company’s registration, even any trace of association would have been ok), yet some of you said he avoided the question. What do you expect him to say. Oh he would have satisfied you lots with stuffs like “Well it’s true, Tinubu owns it”,” I’m sorry he’s my God father” utter rubbish. If a ny can’t provide credible evidence, unlike one joker up there saying he knows a family friend that knows Tinubu…… these are total hogwash that makes discussion in fora reduced to beer parlour arguments

A lot have been said already, but I just gats to give my 2 cents

1. Thank God for the video. When OBJ said he doesn't read 9ja dailies back then, we blasted him. who knows, may be it's unprofessional and foolish attitude as demonstrated by Sowore here is what informed such.

2. Still on Sowore, I thought he said "if it were a BBC reporter, " If Sowore was to be working for BBC, he'll have been fired for bringing the company to disrepute like he did in this video. 1. A reporter/journalist would have done his homework well. Any thing after berger mountain is Ogun State. Even if Punch and Compass blunders, Sowore and his ilks in UK are just copy-pasting blunders. Take a trip to areas post berger, Olowo-ira, Akute etc, you'll notice on sign post after Berger that such areas are not Lagos state. 2. Bridge After Berger is Ogun, There is a sign-post of Good-bye to Ogun state at the tail end of the bridge at the other side of the road. 3. I though the governor was adressing fire incidents in home, before Sowore sought to "correct"the governor with fire incident induced by road accident; I fail to connect his logic. Fire incident as caused by road accident in this case to me his part of the incident report in a road accident. 4. Any rookie reporter would have simply come armed with hard evidence (as regards Sowore's allegation of over-payment to ABC, even stuffs like %age of Commission) not simply throwing questions in the air. I guess the governor was apt to reply that he doesn't run his government on tabloids and media. It's simple, supply the evidence. I'm tempted to believe we're so lazy to do our homework well, then when sucker-punched as in Sowore's case, we play the underdog card.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor T. B. Joshua: The Man in the Synagogue by mapet: 3:23pm On May 23, 2005
As far as I'm concerned T.B Joshua is NOT a man of God.

If you can discern and you are well grounded in scriptures then you need not be "tossed by every wind of doctrine".

His so called "flawless" English and stuffs have changed nothing. He probably has the most beautiful church, but what is the significance of those "eyele" flying around the so called church.

If you listen to his teaching you'll know they have no substances and can't edify and sound and well rooted christian. At times I feel those stuffs he says are pre-recorded and played to him by a wirless device.

Take it from me we know men of God....
TV/Movies › Re: Gulder Ultimate Search 2 by mapet: 3:09pm On May 23, 2005
This years gulder ultimates search contestants are bunch of disgrace. I dont think they realise they are here for competition and that the coverage is global. They mostly exhibit immature and juvenile tendencies. Anita to me talks just too much and in most cases they are utter rubbish. Any thing against her is chavernism. Lanre is down right lazy and needs to be evicted fast. Same for ifeoma. She talks like a baby and many of the stuffs coming out of her mouth sounds foolish and dumb. Madam chichi and the other lady baffles me. at times you wonder if they had a pre competition beef, and the way they shamelessly abuse each other on TV at times you'll ask where has decorum gone to.

The General is smart, fit but foolishly arogant. The pompous way he discribes himself leaves much to be desired, save for that he's a potential winner. Lucan gave himself away when he threaten to beat up anita. (Well I think Anita deserves it) but If you can't control yourself on TV then for God's sakes how do you control yourself at home? In fact I was thinking the organizers should have called him aside and given him stern warning.

Generally these crew shows lack of intelligence. Is this the best that could come out of sea school? angry angry I tot they took an aptitude test b4 the copetition proper? These guys are simply not intelligent at all. They cant figure out simple riddle, simple stuffs turns out difficult.

This years ultimate search is better organised and more adventurous. How I wish they could bring the last years competitors, especially the American, Sandra, Yetunde and tha sporty guy that lost something in his pocket and was evicted.

these years competitors are bunch of jokers angry angry
