Madam, Ok I apologise for alluding that you're lying..... I think may be a bit of ignorance and some information hidden from you may need to be explained. Well the scenario you painted can only be possible if there was a flaw in the previous tax calculation. Remember all there are federal and state tax laws and in the bid of tax avoidance (which is legal and depends on the creativity of tax accountants within a system) many organizations in the past had illegally been evading some portion of taxes (either deliberately or ignorantly). About 9years ago, something like that happened in Lagos State, when the Lagos State government went on tax verification exercise in companies. We simply realized that we have not been paying correct taxes.....so in other words your taxes will increase. It will seem to me that in the case you painted, the payee were subjected to the right tax calculations.
ehehehe! So i'm lying? Ok i'm not going 2 argue that, buh mind u,whatever i post here on aregbe's government is not an hearsay, i am very sure of what i'm saying. And Btw, i never said their salary was not increased! It was and their tax is jst 2k less than thrice wat it used 2 be.
|
Besides, it's only someone with juvenile thinking that does not know that leverage-financing is one of the credible avenues to pursue capital projects. How some on these folks made it past JSS 3 with these warped thinking beats my imagination. Even in private sector, there are cases where companies purposely take debts simple to instil financial discipline. I think young folks on NL should begin to know that the frequecy of postings on NL may not equate to common sense... OmoLisabi: beaf oya talk about this, you freaking baastardddd with no intellectual or lineage values to cherish. olossssshi radaaradddda. |
Cool down madam, there is an algorithm/formula that automatically calculate taxes, and except you want the continued endemic rent seeking culture killing Nigeria, everybody MUST pay tax. There is no way you'll be promoted to the next level and your tax will automatically become thrice what it used to be ?? Haba! when you people come here to lie, at least have at least remember we have basic education. Madam Toppee how is it possible for taxes to be 3x, yet salary was not increased ?
...aregbe promoted workers on level 16 to 17 and their tax is now thrice what it used to be, making their salary even less than level 16's. That's whr he gets d money. Thief oshi!
|
tnx.... It's obvious. I'll probably take your advise...If NL does not get so bastardized that logic is being turned on it head by pps who simply cannot think or have "religiously" refused to Eko Ile: That character is trolling and trolling you. When they keep repeating the same dumb and meaningless nonsense with every post, they are trolling so you might want to ignore... |
Simply put, except NL has a kindergaten section, I'm wondering why someone should even asking such a dumb question I know the word "clueless" is freely thrown around on NL, so no suprises you jolly latched onto it; but pray tell, coming from someone that is battling endlessly asking a daft question bothering on sustainability of Social Service ? SMH....Kobojunkie: You are still not answering the simple question I asked - |
Madam, I encourage you to expend half of the energy you're venting to oppose this initiative, to pause and think through what your question is really addressing. For me you're simply giving yourself away. First off the report gave the number of the the elders that will be in the first phase. It tells you that Osun state goverment had done some homework. There is a number to start with, hence a census of the elderly was done. There are phases as well........ Please understand that seasoned people are in government and they think through these things. I think, if you care, dig and find out what was the mechanism Osun state put on ground to embark on this project. It is not enough that you just blindly antagonise the project, becos you "think" there is no mechanism on ground. Meanwhile have you wondered why they are in government and you are simply on the internet?? Kobojunkie: We should not confuse the question of sustainability with a question on how rich the country is. We know Nigeria is rich yet corruption and mismanagement continues to rob the country of even the most common sense solutions. |
I cannot but notice your failed attempt to discredit this initiative with ascertions that are largely flawed First off, if you're a student of numbers, you'll have known that you don't just throw numbers without putting it in perspectives. 16million a month can be anything, if you don't put it proper perspective. Have you wondered how much is spent by governors and presidents as feeding allowances in a month? or how much is used to take care of sundry expenses like dog pen, flows, groceries etc.....so if a governor decides to spend an amount less than the aforemention to alleviate the plight of some elders, it becomes a crime ![]() And for God's sakes what lame excuses are giving in the underlined that makes you come to me as callous. Elders are legitimate citizens of a country or state and BY RIGHT they deserves state care when they can no longer work or fend for themselves. In your denial, you've antagonized Aregbesola's initiatives as far as I know on this forum, even if it's vendetta, at least with credible and well thought-through analysis, not the same ol regurgitated remnants you keep recycling. Beaf: What is Aregbesola doing to promote development and employment so that families can look after their elderly with dignity? |

This is the stupidest rating collection I have seen. The poster just conjured stuffs together and says its data collected. First of what were the yardsticks and baselines of the ratings, no assessment of economic performance indicators, no true assessment of projects, no tots to a state's ability to self-sustain and other stuffs...these are just figment of a Nler's imagination and other NLers just lapped onto it |
Honestly i felt same. If this story is truly from RMD, then he just simply overreacted. I think some of this celebrities should let their publicity managers handle communication matters professionally instead of this warped african "dem dey jealous me " mentality Billyonaire: RMD needs to learn how to respond to criticism, he has been a media sensation with no criticism thereby depriving him of critic proof mechanism, the comment from Linda Ikeji was supposed to even be a plus but his reaction is very immature and I think he is losing it. Its like he has something to hide. RMD, no worry, we understand. You are now a politician and by serving the public, you need to account for everything you acquire. Be prepared for more criticisms. |
It's a pitty, a team so talented lost that match. The second quarter was our undoing. from 26-26, we then started trailing by over 20 points. it was ridiculous. we allowed them to play, and constrained us to watch. We made them throw 3 pointers at us at will. Coach Ayo is a man I admire a lot but he lost the plot in that second quarter. First off, the russian strategy of aiming the basket from outside should have been checked. How our players lost their men in defence in most cases was appauling. You simply find a russian guy unmarked over and over again aiming for 3 pointers This set of Tigers are damn good. please take that from me. They are pretty talented but needs more experience, playing together and beefing up. Some players needs to reasess their games. Olumide Oyedeji to me is past his prime and his big frame is simply becoming a waste. He's supposed to be the Shaq of that team but he's simply not. Ejike can do more.....we missed Imeh Udoka, he is more pricise in his shots The Russians were bigger and bullied us a lot, especially in the second quarter. If we had about 3 players with the average russian frame, we'll have beaten them. |
When I read your piece, I struggled within me to understand why it is complex for some people to reason and type simultaneously, since blood flows in a single direction to satisfy both objectives. At best do one before the other. Demonstration of crass dumbness and share arrogance gives you in so quickly with your puerile rants.. Toktee: Imagine a lawyer talking,he is even comending the effort of otedola and the sss,the lawyer went ahead to use america nd other european countries, that do resign their position in a case like this,my problem with the whole analysis is,if mr otedola is innocent, why must he perticipate in the whole saga instead of waiting for the house to complete the investigation, who call who first, and why must lawan invite security agencies, who among them can be trusted, otedola invited the sss to do what, what prevented them frm arresting lawan immediately he take posession of the exhibit, can u tell me how otedola is innocent in all these with good reasons? And the question of resignation,hw many corrupt govt official nd politician resign their position in nigeria,i therefore conclude that mr otedola do nt gve kobo to mr lawan,if he give where is the money,on the side of sss they fail in there duties as they were been commanded by mr otedola, what a shame, the giver nd the taker, are both guilty of the offence period...no ranting |
Demdem: The Force Headquarters stated that the audio recording, which was relayed on Monday by the private TV station, was not enough evidence to prosecute Lawan.@ Demdem, I think you are not getting the full picture. 1. The Police are well within their rights with the statements above 2. ..and to some of you lots, that is why it was important not to have arrested Farouk at the spot 3. For me some of you guys need to understan how power games are played sometimes.... May be Farouk is not the only suspect or prime target in this case. With some of the bait dangling, leads could open up for additional targeted crooks |
I hate to say this, but your arguement is flawed 1. Kenyamo is first a Citizen, before and among other things. He has the freedom to voluntare is opinion 2. Is the matter in court yet? has the judge directed that nothing be said so as not to affect the case? 3. Farouk can claim prejudice, because he has a case against the nigerian state and not Kenyamo 4. I agree with you on the bolded part below ideylaff: Keyamo is meant to be a lawyer and he's already passing judgement on a case that is yet to go to court |
1. That will be the most useless evidence. 2. How would you have been able to relate it with the Oil investigation 3. Farook cloud claim it was money for other means which will be admissible in court. No matter how you guys try to turn logic on its head, it leads you all to the same direction....... my disappointment is only at perceptions we could infer about the personality of all you lots Redstone: If sss actually had a video of him the first time he collected the bribe money, that is enough evidence to take him in. Now where is the bribe money |
Bros you lost me here and there is no big question. Did you not read Keyamo's analysis ![]() 1. If you're being pressured to give a bribe and you report to the authorities as Otedola did, then what is your issue? 2. Did Lawan that claimed Otedola pressured him report to any authority (Police, SSS, or at the floor of the Senate) before the saga blew up..... 3. I'm beginning to suspect some of you lots. The moment you've decided sacrifice integrity and try to game the truth, you argue so blindly....... Redstone: Now who do we believe |
*** my comments are based on the little information I gleened from this page*** It's funny that Madam Kofo probably missed the context in which LaFace was talking. If you consider the movie industry, it potential, the kind of money in it and more still coming.....then you will know that our actors are actually poor. Do you know renowned economists are pointing the way of Nollywood as a 300million dollar industry that will soon spin into billions? These actors are the mercy of the so called marketers and cliques that is running the industry down. Some few years ago, Yemi Solade also condenmed the business model of the Yoruba film industry and called for it to be more professional. His collegues attacked him with their rejoineders. Why won't our artist be poor when producers and marketers banned some artists on the allegation that they were too expensive. Pps like Ramsey Noah, Omotola, Desmond Elliot etc were suspended for 1 year and these guys had to make ends meet by rush to the studio to produce some hogwash songs......\\ Not only Yoruba actors are poor... many nigerian actors are actually under valued and under paid .....and Madam Kofo, it is not the stretch of your Gele that says you're not poor |
@ Frosbel, You've simple starterd and gone about this debate the wrong way. I'm not too sure a direct condemnation of another demonination's practices will serve any good; at least it wont even make them accept your stand. I am not Catholic anyways and I believe we non-catholics, even with our contrarian/non-chatholic beliefs, should either hold on to what we believe or engage in matured debates. This is not a debate to me....... Many new generation churches have been guilty of condeming other denominations from half baked knowledge. If you traced the path of what has been leading to the church continous splitting, it's seems fast becoming people wanting to move their agenda under the guise of the "call". These people teach half-baked and not well researched doctrines to their flock who comes to flaunt blurred knowledge and views. Check this; 1.You tell a Muslim to his face that "Allah" is not the way but Jesus....... will that make him drop on his knees and confess, even if you show him all the scriptures of "...no one comes to the father except by me"? 2. You tell a Catholic they worship Mary, yet the continous sounds of "Hail Marys" fill their prayer in the world Lesson; Doctrine is very sensitive and you don't just jump into arguments on them....... For me, my tots are these 1. I know whom and what I believe. I learn more of what I believe about him, I hope to become a scholar in my beliefs, I graciously share my when he leads me to... 2. Did you watch how Billy Graham handled Larry King's question on CNN when he put him on the spot on "If Muslims are going to heaven or hell?"....It was wisdom...big wisdom 3. I advise that it's better to continue to study to show yourself approved......lest you jump into unnecessary cross fire |
Phuck education then.... Chanchit: Phuck lasu...! Nxt yr they would get 1000 students for their p.ume, no body go teach them before they announce the new tuition fee.... Mtcheeew... Even those that graduated from that God forsaken school are yet to recieve their certificate... Increasing tuition fee, while rendering bad service... |
Thank you my bros..... but let me differ a bit somewhere here 1. The enrolment rate and the fees are 2 disparate things. Besides, cutting down enrolment may economically translate into increase the fees further to break even. 2. Honestly it is not a must that anybody must attend LASU, after all there is IMSU, DELSU, ABSU, KATSU, Tai Solarin, OSU, Ekiti State Univeristy, Edo State University...... or just go be ab artisan or learn a trade..... asudan: Although d fees r high,d no of graduate are more n no guarantee or possibility that they will have job.I think what LASG would have done is to design strict policy to cumb d population applying instead of increasing fees.On the other hand,it is not a must that you attend LASU afterall they are other schools that are less expensive-UNIBEN,UNILAG E.T.C. |
My brother, please do an elaboration of how much of that budget is allocated to LASU and how much is need to run a profitable, standard and qualitative LASU Ibanga p: And d money allocated 2 d state frm the educational budget will be used 4 wat? |
You are correct, I was just being "corky" there. Truth inpart is that the coming of some of these private Universities has taught us how to run Universities as profitable ventures and government are learning a thing or two in improving the state owned universities....
i beg to disagree.nt all private uni students failed jamb. Some are there due to d shortcomings of public unis
|
My Bros, Edo state is not Lagos state...... Clemzy16: Edo state government has reduced the tuiton fees of Ambrose Ali university, Ekpoma. to about 70k. And even, the major opposing party **P has promised to reduced it more if voted into power in the next election. And now, Lagos state government are increasing their.. Hmm.. Na wa o! |
basadenet: @mapet. It is rather unfortunate that somebody like you can think in the way the present Government. Is LASU better than other state university? No... Did Fashola not benefited from the Free Education of lagos State Government? Yes... What moral justification does he have to unilaterally increase the school fee without recourse the plight of the Masses? Out of state universities in the country Lagos fee triple that of other states. It will be advisable for the Governor to tow the part of honor than that of dishonor which is presently staring him in the face. And he should realized that very soon he will leave the seat of Government, so what will become of him?1. Is LASU better than other state university? Hell YESSSSSSS ![]() 2. Did Fashola not benefit from Free Education? Well i don't know, but is free education still sustainable in an ever increasing year on year entry rate like LASU on lean facilities? 3. Let's not get overtly sentimental here, there is nothing dishonourable Fashola has done here. Lagos state should have standard University. |
Ok!Ok!Ok! Apologies for being off this page longer than I should be. I guess I have lots to respond to and I'm sorry I've been in the "bush" and I don't enjoy doing forums on my BB..... 1. Well Pardon my sentiments and I can understand some of our sentiments as well. I'll try as much as possible to justify my assumptions and submissions. 2. Sentiments - I finished from my first degree LASU in 1999. So I guess I'll naturally defend my alma-mata. For most of you guys talking stuffs you don't know about LASU and products, I simply laff. 3. But let's get back to focus. I believe this piece is not primarily about if LASU is a bad school or good school, or if it's better than private university or not, but about the seeming exhorbitant school fees. It's so funny.... my Final year school fees was 90Naira, and I'm sure anybody that passed out with or before my set will bear witness. So you wonder why I'll defend LSG on the move. 4. Now I am a very realistic person. Lets begin to look at things from practical perspectives. Why has Ghana, that was a back-water country educational-wise in the 80s overtaken Nigeria with only 4 universities. Why did we have a sudden high-rate of "export" of Nigerian students to Ghanian Universities, even almost at the cost of an average University in UK? I guess my answer will be as good as some of yours......Now we need to choose what we want as a people. Ever wondered why the CBN governor said Nigerian graduates are unemployable? 5. For me until we start placing quality above a lot of things, then we are probably like the fool that does the same thing same way and expect the same result. Do we want our junior ones to go to any of these schools only to be complaining about lack of facilities? Are we going to be ok with lecturers going on incessant strikes for want of tool to carry out research? are we ok with schools that cannot even give anything to the private sectors? I wonder if the professorial chairs of oil companies are still held in our universities. 6. My first question is; do you know what it takes to run a university? Do you think it's sustainable to have low/next to nothing paying university and still have good standards? Have you considered from what source lecturers' and professors will be remunarated decent, good and quality wages? rent from government? you and I know that will never come. Someone talked about budget and I laugh. Have you ever thought to yourself that budgets are based mostly on projected revenue streams. The logic is that let sectors and parastatals begin to be run as profitable ventures are they go dead. 7. I appreciate the talk about the children of the poor. My tots are these. I agree to some extent with some posters that said it is not compulsory for everybody to get a university education, and not a prerequisite to be successful. In other climes, there are exit points in education that caters for the needs of people of various backgrounds - Polytechnics, Specialize skill Acqusition schools etc. For me the children of the poor deserves quality education and not just some hogwash. At the end of the day, in a capitalist world we all work very hard to make our aspirations a reality. The children from diverse background still get to university if they so aspire; scholarships, part-time programs, loans, state subventions etc. 8. So back to this fees. The reality are these; The governing council of LASU in their own resolve has deemed it so that they can no longer be reliant of rent to sustain LASU. Curcify them for that, it still doesn't change the fact that they've decided a new strategy to pursue the running of the institution. IF other states are lowering the fee, no problem - you and I know that these are political gimmick that are not sustainable. |
O boy relax with your sensational postings and outright falsehood...... Haba! You know what? I take it that you've not been to Lagos talkeless knowing LASU........ The reasons adduced by the government for the fees is that Lagos State government is pushing LASU to become semi-autonomous and self sustaining. If Private Schools can be funded with fees paid by students, then may be government sees this as a long lasting way of running it. Recall that when this was announced by the Lagos state government, debated on the floor of the House of Reps and even students protested. Meanwhile all you guys hailing private schools.......I simply see them as get-away for low-scoring and "Jamb" failed students...... afam4eva: It's expected. Majority of people who go to LASU belong to the bottom-class of the society and as such cannot afford such abbysmal tuition. Also, the quality of education does not justify the increase. Why go to lasu when there are private universities. |
My brother I am tired of repeating the same suprise at the reasoning capacity of many folks. I have come to believe that on NL pps first "align" before the think or never bother to think at all. This case is simple; 1. If as claimed by Otedola, it was a sting operation with the SSS and those note were truely marked, then for God's sakes does that make Otedola corrupt? Have not any of you not watch films where cops pose under-cover with marked notes to buy drugs in a bid to catch drug kingpins.....does that make the cop also guilty because "he also bought the drugs" ?2. I am very concern at the rate at which unverified and false information is thrown freely on NL about people. I think we need to start challenging those people to substantiate some of this ascertions and if not we tag the person a fraud and a lier
These are the best posts av read on nairaland im many days. What is realy wrong with our youths and thinking system for goodness sake.We cry and complain to high heavens of the attrocities and corruption of our political leaders and when an Otedola sticks out his neck and business to confront the status quo, we turn round and descend on him. what are we intending to achieve with this, how on earth do we expect other business men who are being extorted to come out tommorow and blow the lid on these evil rampaging our nation. If you have a problem with Otedola and his Business/Political operandi why dont you wait for another case to do this.To Imagine Mallam Zakari Moh'd publicly stating that "As far as we are concerned in this country, for every personality that claims to be straightforward, we know his or her background, antecedents, way of life and means of doing business".This is the same reason they go about extorting every other businessman because they believe nobody is straightforwad? haba coming from an honourable its both shameful and despicable. Now they want to "deal with Otedola" for heavens sake lets not take our eyes off the ball. These honourables dont mean well for you and I.Otedola might just be a tool in helping to expose them, nobody said he was a saint.
|
@ FMGOLD, ....ever wondered why one TELL publication and Dele Momodu christened this generation "The Generation of Intellectual Retards and Dullards" fmgold: @ kunletech |
wrong story.... move over rhymz: Ok kid, I will gladly oblige your request. ITT was a telecommunication company that got the contract to install telephone booths in Nigeria in preparation for the FESTAC 77. What ITT supplied were refurbished telephone booths, mere decorations that never worked. This was the company Abiola represented. Late General Murtala Mohammed was the Federal Commissioner for Communications then before he took over from Yakubu Gowon in 1976. Abiola got the Federal government through his khaki friend Murtala Mohammed to pay for the contract. He was always Wining and dining with the khaki guys na. Now you know the story, so what next? |
...and in what capacity will Abiola sign the Nigerian 1978 constitution ?? rhymz: Death was kind to MKO Abiola walahi. He has got to be the most overhypped Politician of all time. |
....pathetic liar May be these lies was peddled in your back-water church, by a smooth talking brother to some thoughtless crew.... If someone tells you, Fanatics were buying and burning bibles....and so what? at least they bought it, and is there any problem with that? On the Zango Kataf issue, the prominent face on the story is Maj. Zamani Lekwot. I leave you to go fetch the story and furnish yourself with the event. It was in the media then. Abiola sponsored Boko Haram ? Haba... I Abiola needs to bitch-slap you from the grave from this daft submission. Let me guess, Abiola was also responsible for Fuel subsidy fraud, SEC fraud, Killings in the Niger-delta and kidnapings ??kunletech: Abiola is a blood sucking Demon if I may use any adjective to qualified him. |
See warped reasoning, so your only evidence is becos FELA mentioned it in his song? FMary: I am so suprised how quick we are to forget the legendry Fela Anikulapo Kuti and his song ITT and I quote him (Fela) "Obasanjo and Abiola international thief thief". |
