Sick bunch of disgruntled and disillusioned miscreants called igbos with misplaced priorities. Only leeches are always looking for people to attach to.

We pray for Anioma state, yes, but even if we get it, it will never be merged with the South-east, we will never join a region full of miscreants and children of hate, we rather remain in the south-south zone with the Edos and Deltans we have been used to from the begining.

You guys can wail for all you want.
There is no "we" between you and Anioma. You are a Northerner not an Anioma.

you don't know Jim ovia. Jim Ovia was the 4th richest Nigeria from Forbes ranking. A position he retained for many years. Jim ovia is a philanthropist. He has made his mark and no longer pursue wealth as vigorously as he used to. I see some similarities between ovia and Bill Gates. They're rich but they're not one of those rich men that loves money more than anything else. Elumelu, Okonjo, Utomi, Obaigbena, Irabor, are all great men. We don't lack great men in Anioma land. And we don't compete between ourselves. there's mutual love and respect in Anioma land. Anioma is not even up to a state and some shameless people here are comparing us to the whole SE that's 5 States.
You are the shameless one here cuddling to Okonjo and Elumelu, both of whom don't share in your Igbo hate agenda.
Every ranking out there always but Elumelu ahead of Ovia in the rankings.

I tot u igbos were fond of demonizing and insultin Ika people and claiming them to be useless to Igbo nation? Plzzz.
Okonjo Iweala is married to an Igbo man, so that is where her identity now lies i think.

God bless Ikas o,
If i must marry an Anioma man, it must be an Ika o, they are too much.
Elumelu is an Enu ani man, not an Ika. Okonjo is not Igbo because she is married to an Abia man. She is Igbo because she is from Enu ani, from the royal house of Ogwashi-ukwu, a people whose ancestors migrated from Nri. She was Igbo before she married.

Dieziani is married to an Igbo man, yet we all know she is an Ijaw an not Igbo.

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu

A move is underway by leaders of the southeast geopolitical zone to forge economic integration and reposition the region for development. The initiative will have five governors and an array of prominent Igbo leaders from religious, economic, educational and political platforms rubbing minds together to tackle decrepit infrastructure and leadership void in the region.

Under the aegis of South East Leadership and Development Initiative (SELDI), the move stems from “a near state of hopeless that has befallen the southeast since the end of the Civil War and in particular, since 1999, when the present democratic experience took off.”

The leaders, it was learnt, reviewed the state of the zone in the past 17 years and concluded: “The present democratic dispensation has not helped the area.”Besides governors of the region, the initiative is also being driven by the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu; former Commonwealth Secretary General, Emeka Anayoku; former Ministers Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Prof. Charles Soludo, and Prof. Barth Nnaji.

Other include Dr Idika Kalu Idika, Mr. Tony Elumelu, Prof. Pat Utomi, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Prof. Pita Ejiofor, Prof. Elo Amucheazi, Rear Admiral Ebitu Ukiwe (rtd), Chief Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), former Governor Peter Obi, Dr Orji Kalu, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Prof. Philip Emeagwali, and author, Chimamanda Adichie.

A source told The Guardian: “The assumption that the Federal Government should play a leading role in reactivating the moribund infrastructure that stares the zone in the face is the greatest undoing of the region.”

If you look at it, critically, you will know that over 80 per cent of our active youths have remained without jobs, thus wasting their productive age. If we have the quantum of investments that have remained moribund working, we won’t have the level of unemployment existing in the southeast.”

A document obtained exclusively by The Guardian said SELDI “is dedicated to transforming and fostering the development of Nigeria, especially the southeast region, focusing on leadership development in order to change the fortunes of the people, and giving hope to present and future generations. SELDI is the response to the developmental gaps and challenges that confronted the southeast after the Civil War, which devastated the region.”

See Elumelu and Utomi in the Igbo list.

Both Elumelu and Utomi are Enu ani people, and we know that the disposition of Enu ani people towards the Igbo unity agenda is way different from those of Ikas/Ukwuani.

Yes am a proud Northern woman and at the same time a proud southern (South-south) woman from Ubulubu, Ubulu-Uku kingdom, Anochia south LGA, Delta state.

And pls make no mistake, northern women also make good wives too and give birth to great offsprings, if you doubt me, check all the cases whereby Igbo men married middlebelt/northern women and see.

Gov Rochas' mother is from Plateau state and see he is your governor. Babangida's wife who because of her Asaba became the capital of Delta state, she is proudly half northerner, half southerner like me. Her father is an igbo man but her mother was Hausa and today because of her, all we Aniomas and even Igbos too are enjoying Delta state wealth in Asaba. What about Igbo elder statesman Ike Umar Nwachukwu? His mother is from Niger state, middlebelt. Abeg we too much make una clap for us na.
How many Igbo women can boast such? U see why many people say igbos are the problem of Nigeria? May God help una o.
Okonjo is an Igbo woman and is very influential. Ike Nwachukwu has no respect Igboland, Mayarm odogwu was a proud Igbo woman from Asaba, the Odogwu family are not in Igbo denial.

Rochas commands respect only in Imo state, he is a turncoat, other Igbos know this. Reason why we have the phrase " Okorohausa".

You are a northern woman. Stop attaching to Anioma.

Elumelu is a proud Igbo man.

Ovia and Emefiele remain Indifferent to the Igbo tag.

Elumelu is richer than Ovia. Ovia is not even the most Anioma person, let alone Igbo man. Orji kalu is richer than him. Okonjo Iweala, a proud Igbo woman of Anioma origin is more influential than Ovia, Kanu nwankwo, Iheanacho, Chimamanda, and other countless Igbos are more influential than Ovia world wide.

But did you guys really know what happened to your mother?

People must always speculate . It got to a point, I said to myself that those people who are accusing us of being responsible for our mum’s death must be ignorant of how close we were to her. We didn’t want that rumour to distract us. In fact, when people are insinuating such things, the best advice is for you to block your ears and never allowed it to distract you. I’m human, and I don’t except people to say positive things about Psquare all the time. Psquare have made its worst mistake in the past, and nobody noticed it. We are not perfect. And we know why people were accusing us of being responsible for our mother’s death. It’s because we are successful in what we are doing for a living. Even in my Igbo nation, once somebody starts to progress, his kinsmen will start to associate his riches with money ritual. We have overgrown such insinuation.

Some of your songs are usually Igbo themed, showing you are still very close to your roots. How would you say this has affected your music and personality?

Sometimes, if we don’t sing in Igbo, our people will crucify us (laughs). If you listen to P-Square, you will hear Igbo, English, Pidgin English; even French we try. For us, English is a universal language and I’m not singing in Igbo to try and please my people but I like to inculcate my culture through music.

This is the reason why Biafra can never work, because other tribes are so welcoming to the Igbos and so many Igbos have adopted other places as their hometowns.

Mikel and Psquare may have mansions in Uk, Us, Lagos, Abuja, but their family house, childhood and teenage friends, well wishers, memories and Upbringing continues to remain in the great middlebelt city of Jos.

If you go and ask ppl like Psquare or Mikel now if they want Biafra, they will land u a very dirty slap on your face. because these people can never leave their JOS, home sweet home.

The dust is still yet to settle on Oba Rilwan Akiolu's anti-Igbo statement made over the weekend. Several politicians, commentators and celebrities have expressed their thoughts on the highly controversial issue.

The CEO of Mavin Records (popularly now referred to as the Supreme Mavin Dynasty) has come out to air his mind on the Oba of Lagos' statement which threatened death on Igbos who won't vote for the APC gubernatorial candidate on April 11, 2015.

Yesterday, April 7, 2015 a Twitter account with the handle @Iam_SkySwag asked Don Jazzy why he had kept quiet about the issue. @Iam_SkySwag also insinuated that because Don Jazzy did not want to talk about the issue because he is close to the Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola.

The prolific hitmaker munched these tweets directed at him and posted them on his Instagram account. In the caption below the picture, Don Jazzy expressed his thoughts on the whole issue.

"I am a Nigerian first and an Igbo man second. Fashola has treated everyone in Lagos fairly as far as I know and I am proud to be associated with him. #mentor" he wrote.

He further wrote "As a wise/civilized/respectful Igbo man, I will not desecrate the stool of royalty, even tho I totally frown at that recording. But I will tell you for free that we all have the freedom to choose whom to vote for & no one can force you or me to vote as he/she pleases. #IDJA."

So if IPOB recognizes that the power to call for a referendum lies on the legislative arm and not executive arm, what exactly have they done to win legislative Post in the East? Nothing.

They are not serious. They know what to do, yet won't do it, but would instead be running round like headless chickens.

If they want referendum, then they must seek to control the legislative slots of the East, right from the state legislature( state house of assemblies) to the the federal( Senate and House of reps), they must have their members stand for election for these slots by forming a political party or by infiltrating the already existing ones.

That IPOB has decided to shy away from doing the above, makes me question the IQ of their leaders many times.

You don't expect Buhari to give referendum to a bunch of " no bodies" with no official proof to be the representative of the people they claim to speak for, this to me is common sense.

How exactly is the Ndoki music Ijaw? Hehe! This one is funny.

Which Ijaw words in Ndoki? Are you for real?

Ndoki have been neighbors to Ogoni people in tai, the communities neighbouring Ogoni people have few Ogoni influences due to proximity, inter trade and inter marriage. Those close to Imo river have riverine culture, just like the Ogbaru Igbos in Anambra.

Ndoki even get pissed off at attempts to unite them with Ngwa, they will bite off your neck if you bring this your Ijaw land grabbing techniques near them. They are a distinct Group within the Igbo ethnic group. Respect that.

All the Okrika know, or will tell of themselves, is that
their forefathers originally came to Okrika from Afam, a place
beyond Obu-akpu in the interior Ibo country, which points to,
if it does not determine, an Ibo origin ; and the fact of their
close contact with the Ibani on one side, and to a lesser
deo-ree with the New Calabar on the other, at once accounts
for their dialect being affiliated to both of these as well as to
the Ijo.

https://archive.org/stream/lowernigeritstri00leonrich/lowernigeritstri00leonrich_djvu.txt

Afam and Obu akpu are Ndoki Ibo communities.

We know where the Ndoki Ijaw story is originating from. It was originally Okrika who claimed to have Originated from Ibo speaking clan of Ndoki before the onset of this FG induced Igbo hate. But with the current hysteria of Igbo hate going on there, peeps now know that the only way to still continue their relationship with Ndoki without being linked to Ibo, is by trying to claim that Ndoki is/ was Ijaw.

But we all know that Ndoki has been Igbo speaking and Igbo since antiquity.

Stop deceiving yourself. The relationship you seek is in reverse. The Okrika people and many Opobo people are descendants of Igbos from Ndoki that got Ijawnized along the way. We can see Igbo markers in those communities. But there are no Ijaw markers in Ndoki.

It must be hammered into the psyche of Nigerians that no Igbo hating comments, articles, diagrams, picture will go unpunished. The offender must be brought to light and severely humiliated with facts and truth, so much that they would think twice before embarking on such painful venture in the future, and the onlookers would also take note of how the offender was brought to justice.

We have the advantage of internet on our side, and we must utilize it to the fullest. The mistakes of the 60's must never be allowed to repeat itself.

Ndiigbo had supported all Nigerian groups to produce presidents since the return of democracy in 1999.

We supported OBJ, a Yoruba man in 1999 and 2003.

We supported Yaradua a Fulani Northerner in 2007

We Supported GEJ, an Ijaw SSner in 2011 and 2015.

1.Your points are indistinct.
There was nothing like divisions in the Nigeria Army before the civil war. When did Yoruba claimed not to be a part of Nigeria?
Get this - what I mean by neutral is,Yorubas officers were not responsible for the coup(except for Adewale Ademoyega); although some Yoruba men were killed,Yorubas didn't join in the pogrom that followed. Those two incidents that Yorubas were unconnected to gave birth to the civil war,so why should they be roped into the squally sh!tstorm that followed.

2.The Igbos were not the first to be denied the chance to secede.
The Ijaws were.Isaac Adaka Boro declared Niger Delta Republic on Feb. 23 1966.Since the Igbos were eager to break free from Nigeria why didn't they support someone with a similar plan?
This strand of thought - to me - dispels your argument.

3.What do you mean? The East was stilll a part of Nigeria when the Aburi Accord was held, wasn't it?
So why should the ethnicity of the fellow Nigerians who were present there be of any importance?
4.How can you categorically predict what would have happened to the West if the secession was successful?
Do you know if the West would have followed suit? The Yorubas have what it takes to survive in any political terrain. You are not qualified to play Nostradamus.
Back to the facts. The crude oil you mentioned belonged to the Niger Delta, and the ND was part of Nigeria then.So what's your point exactly?
- I can't change what you choose to think about Awo and woun't attempt to.
But I'll have to correct the bold. Here : Governor Ezeife: “Awolowo did not join the war against Nigeria and neither did he start the war against Eastern Region but he eventually joined Gowon”.

And,

"The document says disagreement on shipments between Mr. Gowon and Mr. Ojukwu, were more to blame for the failure of relief materials reaching dying children, women and men desperately in need of food."

5.I should also ask you why Igbos always mention Yorubas as the cause of their problems; right from the inception of Nigeria, the Igbos have always been in alliance with the North
(from NEPU to NPC); the Yorubas never called them a slave to the North.Yet they have the gut to talk about OduaArewanistan.
Also the most visible group on social and print media calling Lagos a no-man's land, saying we are zombies for voting for Buhari, are Igbos.
An Igboman Prof. Chinua Achebe wrote a book in which he maligned Awo just to get negative comments against Yorubas.
So I should ask you why are Igbos always attacking Yorubas?

.
1- You can't be neutral if you part of Nigeria, the war was Biafra vs Nigeria.
Ademoyega was part of the inner caucus of Nzeogwu coup. The Five majors, that already sends your Yoruba neutrality claim down the trash.

Yorubas were not involved in the progrom, but a Yoruba was part and parcel of the coup and a Yoruba premier died at the hands of the mutineers, Yorubas were right in the thick of the action of things that led to the progrom.
Let's not even forget that it was the wild wild west/ Operation wetie and all mayhem taking place in the Western region that set the stage for the coup.

2- Adaka Boro was not an elected official of the Ijaws, the Ijaw leaders in Enugu were not the ones calling for secession, it was hard ascertaining if Boro spoke for the people, only a referendum would have determined that. Boro wasn't asking for referendum, neither was the Ijaw leaders in the Eastern house.
You can't compare Boro movement with that of the Eastern region hat had the total support of the leaders of the Eastern region and the entire ethnicities in the East Ojukwu was also open to referendum to ascertain the people wish which Gowon declined.

Either way, I think Boro issue has no part in this our discussion, you only brought it up for diversion.
If you want to discuss the Boro issue and your perceived hypocrisy of the Easterners, open a thread on that and invite me.

For now, let's stay on topic.

3- It's important because it outlined all parties involved in the fracas. It cancels your Igbo vs North propaganda, and dispels your neutrality stand. There was no neutral sides, there were two sides, the Eastern region and the rest of Nigeria, Yorubas were with the later side.

4- I can't be sure of what would have happened to Yorubas, but my projections are antecedent based. The North is yet to give up Kwara, and they believe that infidels can't rule "true muslims", I dont think that stance of their was going to change once they are left in a country with Yorubas.

Considering the population advantage, and geographical proximity they had on Yorubaland, including already established military basis, if I'm a betting man, I know where I would have put my money in case of hostilities between Yoruba and the North Post Biafra, and it's not on Yorubas.

5- In the era in discuss, there was nothing like Niger Delta, what we had was Eastern region, even till today, the Igbo speaking areas of the deep south still has more onshore crude oil than the Ijaw speaking areas, the highest oil producing LGAs in Rivers state today are ONELGA and Oyigbo LGAs. The issue of Igbo denial in these regions was a deliberate post civil war machinations of the FG.
Moreover. Ojukwu was open to UN supervised referendum on the non Igbo parts of Biafra, to determine if they would have rather stayed with Nigeria, but Gowon also declined the request, knowing fully well that they would have chosen Biafra over Nigeria.

The Eastern non Igbo speaking groups were never forced into the Biafran project.

- The role of Awolowo as the originator and enforcer of the starvation policy in Biafra had already been dealt with many times as a topic in NL, if you want to re discuss it, open a thread again about it, and I would oblige again, stop detailing this thread.

- Can you show me, a single document pre civil ear where Igbo leaders ever talked about Yorubas or another Nigerian group.
Instead it was treacherous beings like Awolowo, Akintola, Oba Akenzua, Saraduna etc that were busy all making Igbophobic speeches and articles all of which were recorded.
My fore runners were a bit naive, they ignored all your hate articles against Ndiigbo, the present Ndiigbo won't, we will return your hatred with A billion times more concentrated hatred.

- Achebe never maligned Awolowo, he just stated the facts on the role Awolowo played in starving millions of Biafran babies and children.

Shalom.
